Bistro Twenty Four in Central Bedfordshire

Gutted I didn’t know about this place when I lived in the area, came down visiting on route To London airports. lovely cafe, food was delicious, dog friendly indoors, reasonable prices too. Family friendly, kid friendly.

Had a brownie 😋 it was very nice quick service not bad place most probably go back 😀

Another wonderful dinner had by us. The steaks just melted in our mouths! The generous accompaniments were also really tasty. Excellent value for money too. Thank you Pete and staff.

Visited here for the 1st time a couple of weeks ago. The people who run this are very friendly, and the service was great. We had a lovely hot latte and bacon rolls that were perfect. Didn't know this place was dog friendly as well. Which was a nice bonus for my little dog to join us for breakfast. Will return again in the future.

Enjoyable lunch time experience.

Had a rare day eating here with my husband and father in law for both lunch and evening meal. I had the cheese and bacon burger for lunch and a rustichella pizza for my dinner. Both were delicious and served hot. The staff are friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is chilled and friendly. Definitely recommend as the best place to eat/drink in Toddington and surrounding area.

Had the rare privilege of eating both lunch and dinner here today. I had the cheese and bacon burger for lunch and in the evening enjoyed a number of glasses of Prosecco and the rustichella pizza. Both were served hot, both were mouth-wateringly delicious. The atmosphere is chilled and friendly and the staff are wonderful. Can’t recommend this place enough. Such a gem.

We had lunch here today 20/10/23, with our daughter and grandson, a pleasant experience, with well presented food reasonably priced, in a relaxed atmosphere, with friendly efficient staff.

Best breakfast for miles. The bacon is the best I have ever tasted. Young lad waiter, didn't get his name, polite, professional, confident and really nice lad, chatted football to my young son. A true credit to the business and his parents. Unfortunately a Liverpool supporter but other than that top fella. Friendly team of staff and owner. Highly recommended 👌

We stopped off here for a quick dinner on our way down to London. The staff were friendly, the restaurant was quiet and we enjoyed a lovely, reasonably priced meal. For a family of 4 with 4 meals and 2 alcoholic drinks we paid just over £40 which we thought was very reasonable. The chilli con carne and curry were delicious and the kids both enjoyed scampi and chips. All in all a cheap and cheerful meal out.

Our first visit - a convenient halfway point for both of us from opposite directions. Great service, yummy food and a great place for a get-together. Deserved to be busier (but we were quite early!). Thanks for looking after us! 👍 😁

En route home from London to the north we picked a random town and went for breakfast. The cafe was empty but the staff were cheerful and attentive and we ordered, sausage egg and bacon barm and a full breakfast. The food was delicious and fresh and the lovely dognat the table next to us was hoping for a treat. We also had a chocolate brownie which was a mix of gooey and crispy We definitely picked a winner.

Never recieved an order. Waited to be served more than 40min one time, and I thought we will give it a chance again today. 2nd time similar situation, but couldn't afford to wait again for so long so we left after seeing no interest in service at all...

Came in for breakfast with my father. Lovely and friendly staff, clean and nicely decorated place and the breakfast was well cooked and delicious. We'll definitely be coming back.

Popped in for a coffee as it was raining. Service was good, polite and we were served promptly. All the staff seemed very young and all appeared to be drinking from cans behind the service counter. 2 cans looked like Red Bull. One lady undid her hair, tidied it, tied it back up and then handled food. Another female had her long hair loose and was delivering plates of food to customers. A male sneezed onto the back of his hand and then picked up 2 plates of food. I felt that hygiene is not a priority. I have eaten here before but might not in the future.

Small and busy little bistro, had a lovely panini for lunch and staff were very attentive and friendly. Would recommend for lunch.

Had a great night yesterday with family at the Bistro Bar on the High Street. Food and service 2nd to none. Highly recommend

First time eating here. I had Eggs Benedict and was a little disappointed that the ham wasn’t thick cut from a gammon joint but sliced ham

Visiting the area,I googed cafe for breakfast and this pkace czmd up in top 10..A lovely breakfast we had, service was good and clean and friendly. There are a few step to toilets, my mum has difficulty with steps and banister was loose .

It's a comfortable place to go and have a cup of coffee and a English breakfast Friendly staff, and at night turns to a Bar 🍸, enjoy 😉.

Given one menu between three people and expected to know our order within five minutes of arriving; well, that’s the attitude of the young lady serving us as she blatantly rolled her eyes at us because we weren’t ready to order! The second time the young lady came to take our order, the last of our party was trying to find the pizza on the menu (as well as clearly trying to keep an eye on her small child!) as it is on the downloadable version from the website and clearly advertised on the café’s Facebook cover photo!! To help my friend out, I asked the lady serving us if the café still served pizza, to which she replied no and did we need extra time, then once again rolled her eyes when we answered yes to needing a bit more time. I’d understand if the café was busy, but there were only three other small groups of customers in the café. It was just utter rudeness! The young lady is obviously very inexperienced when it comes to customer service and would benefit from further training/shadowing of more experienced staff. In addition to this, if pizza is no longer on offer, the café needs to seriously update what they are advertising online! I ordered the cauliflower aloo gobi dhansak jacket potato. The dhansak was so stodgy and tasteless, I didn’t enjoy it. At no point did any of the staff check to see if our food was to our satisfaction. Apart from the young lady taking our order having rolled her eyes at us twice, there was no contact from the staff until we got up to pay; the staff couldn’t move quick enough to clear our plates!! A disappointing experience, particularly as this café USED to have outstanding service and fantastic food! Wouldn’t recommend with its current standards.

A pleasant enough premises HD the eggs Benedict with crushed avocado just hit the spot. The young lady who served us was very nice and smiled a lot. Note to the owner listen to staff and buy a new large teapot there as there was more tea on the table than in the cups

We held our end of year Moto GP party here, it was great fun, atmosphere was good, pizza’s tasty, the beer was cold, and the service was excellent, I think this will become our go to meeting point.

Fab service from the moment you step through the doors..... The team is small however they are so friendly and do anything for you. The Bistro is a nice buzzing place to be, great food and drinks & take care of the kiddies when visiting with them. The live music events held here are great too and bring more joy to the place. Recommended by local library ladies so visited for lunch with elderly mother. Great parking outside good greeting & assistance for disabled mother. Great menu so chose baked potato with tuna/sweet corn & a bacon Brie panini. Swift service with a smile & efficiency. Loved busy Friday lunch atmosphere. Staff & customers very chatty & friendly. Delightful well done.

The small girl with blonde hair was so rude and I'm pretty sure there was spit in my drink ,she kissed her teeth at me and rolled her eyes when I asked to order more food on top of my order ,I am not going again as I felt a 15 year old girl was trying to belittle me

In these unusual times it's trickier than you might think to find somewhere for lunch on a Tuesday - many pubs keep the kitchens closed at the start of the week for obvious reasons. Bistro Twenty Four was a new one on me as I don't pass through Toddington as often as was once the case thanks to new roads, but this is a great place to bear in mind if you're looking for refreshment on the M1 and would prefer not to be limited to a service station. There's a comprehensive breakfast menu until noon, and a good range of lunchtime plates which include pub-like possibilities (sausage, egg and chips) and generous burgers as well as pizza, interesting veggie options and bags of choice. Not sure how late in the day the lunch menu stretches, but there's an evening snacks menu to go with the drinks licence and a special offer cocktail list - whatever time of day you want to drop in, they're ready for you. It looks small from the main road but it widens out once you're beyond the door, lots of space and high standards of cleanliness, staff were swift, smiley and efficient. All our lunch choices went down well, and the cake display looked good enough to tempt us to take some home. Prices very reasonable, one to file away in the memory bank.

Dog friendly, serving gluten free options and very knowledgeable about gf... lovely staff... what more could you ever want? We went for breakfast and then stayed for cake!!! We are going back tomorrow!!!

We ordered takeaway of a halloumi burger and fish finger sandwich. We had to wait 30 minutes as something went wrong in the kitchen, and the fish finger sandwich ordered in brown bread was served in a white panini and was really badly cooked. We couldn't be bothered to complain and wait another 30 minuted for the correct order.

On enquiring what a bacon and cheese lunch consists of i simply wanted a bacon and cheese roll...and she said its a bacon and cheese bap...so I expected that to arrive ..when ordered came to the table it was the full meal of burger bacon cheese and chips ..which was never mentioned...I admit I did not say anything then as was so taken aback...when settling the bill we mentioned this and she said I will adjust the bill as she could see the error...bare im in mind none of the rest of the food was touched as would never in Million years would I have had this ..I commented the bill had not been adjusted and she replied because it had been served we had to pay !!! If we had said straight away she said she could have eaten it herself for her lunch...I just think this was VERY unfair ..so the bill was 27 pounds for 3 sandwiches

First time trying this Cafe today, staff polite. We ordered lasagne which came out very burnt and hard on the top layer. You can blatantly see it was hard and burnt so why serve it? Surely if you were worried about the quality of your food you would not serve that. To me it shows you saw it burnt but just thought about trying it and not losing the money on having to cook another.

Had lunch the other day, staff were friendly and helpful we were seated quickly. The BLT was full of bacon, however the Club sandwich is not a club sandwich, it is sold as a Club sandwich on the menu but you only get a standard sandwich, plus one slice of bacon across the whole sandwich, I thought a bit mean when the BLT was packed with bacon. Plus I thought patrons were meant to have their details taken for tack and trace? No details were taken from us nor from what I could see from anyone entering the place, they might have taken details for people who had pre-booked.

As the title suggests, this place is lovely! During covid they supplied the locals with takeaway service! Contactless and faultless! Always good communication on times or waits! Foods always piping hot and delicious! Will be back!

A great place to dine and relax the home cooked menu is amazing, their all day breakfast is one of the best you'll eat. All your needs catered for by friendly, helpful staff with a fine selection of wines, spirits and beers, Pete really knows how to create a warm, friendly, relaxing, atmosphere. We cannot wait to drop in for a breakfast, beer and a have chat in fine company when we are back in the area. If you're in Toddington you have to drop in and visit. You will want to come back again and again.

A nice little place, or, at least, it looks little on the outside but it goes back a long way and incorporates a bar for evening use plus a bistro counter where the food and drinks are ordered. Tea and coffee were good. Sandwiches were good too with a side of crisps. Not huge portions but probably about right given the distance travelled south from our usual haunts and the proximity to London. Good value though. Worth a visit for a quiet lunch and a rest in the middle of the village.

Good service, prices a reasonable, only downside was when ordering a soft drink the glasses provided didn't look particularly clean.

Absolutely fantastic BIG Breakfast! All the produce was of excellent quality and even though the menu says served til 12, and we didn’t order til 1, and they were busy, the chef kindly still did us two breakfasts! Will be back again soon!! 👍👍

A unexpected village cafe, with style. licenced for alcohols. also has special nights with live music. parking can some time be awkward.
