Karma did its job! 👏🏼 ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ I gave life to Birdie, all her walls were painted by me, I hung caldelabrums myself, I covered all the chairs by hand, I helped local artists by buying objects that filled my heart to give life to Birdie, I was the sole owner for a couple of years until I fell into the clutches of these “big businessmen” This Mr. #LuisFabianVela along with two other very renowned businessmen in #RGV #McAllen did me a lot of harm, they involved me in their words and “big business” games, their lies hurt me a lot. I applaud the laws of this country for somehow delivering justice! I have been threatened for years to keep me quiet. ‼️ Enjoy prison a lot sir! There go all the people who do evil!‼️

I always come here to get brunch, only this experience the service by the waitress was not that great. I can understand if she was having a bad day but never put that on your customers. Other than that food was amazing and they have a lot of great options. A caramel latte on the side 😋☕️

It was a so-so experience overall. I wanted to like it because it was super packed with people, so I assumed it was a great place to be for a weekend brunch. However, the food and drink were so average or subpar, particularly for the prices. There is nothing I tried here that would ever make me want to come back, although the patio area was lovely. The service was good, so they have the right wait staff. The food did not taste fresh. The chicken strips tasted like frozen ones. The waffle was dense and flavorless. The tea jug was watered down. The pasta had a decent taste to it. The cuisine standards in the RGV are low for non-Mexican food, so these types of places are usually packed without a care for the very basic food offerings.

Watch out for their "Large group" automatic gratuity of 20%. Then at checkout, they ask if you want to tip even more. This was a surprise because we were a table of 3. We met a very nice young couple and chose to pay for their meal. Boom, party of 5.

Positives: Very cute place with a beautiful outdoor seating area. Accommodating to pets (dogs) and has good service. The vibes are great. It's an overall nice place to get brunch with family and friends while dressed nice-casual. Negative: The first thing I noticed was the high prices on the menu-- the menu was a little limited too. Moreover, I got the eggs benedict and it was $16. It was only two, and they were small. Drinks were also a little pricy-- $7 for any non-refillable espresso drink. Overall, if you want to get brunch with loved ones and want to have it at a pretty place with brunch-y type food, this is the place to be! Just be prepared to pay $15 or more per person for small portions.

I would never recommend this place to my worst enemy. Horrible customer service didn’t just end at the door when we walked to our car a man walks past me and says next time have some respect and don’t park in reserved parking. My jaw dropped because I was clueless because I was parked in a spot with a sign that stated reserved for birdies bistro cafe & bakery or something like that. I called him back several times saying, “Excuse me sir can you explain the issue.” The guy was so rude, he physically waved me off and gave me the rudest expression imaginable. I was pissed. I turned around, went back in, and asked who the owner was. Needless to say he was the owner. The lady I asked was his sister and after I explained the situation to her, I demanded an apology. She said, “Well, it’s kind of obvious that it’s staff parking and that was his spot that you’re in.” I was seriously dumbfounded by her remark and asked her to whom it was obvious to because nowhere did it say staff parking. She went on to say each sign says something different. I explained to her that it’s not customary for people to go spot by spot to see if each sign said something different. I saw birdies bakery & cafe, it was available, so I parked. Well i guess we need to add that was all she had to say. I asked for an apology but of course didn’t get anything but excuses for his and her horrible attitudes. If he was a professional, he would have nicely come over to explain the parking situation and I would have been okay with it but he chose to be rude and a coward. Never again!!!

Wonderful atmosphere but the food was below average . The chicken and waffles were super sad ,chicken was pre frozen . They were garnished with plain ol pecans , no butter and were cold and hard . Service never came back to check on us or offer refills , just the check .

The girls were very attentive and kind and everything was very delicious. Very pleasant atmosphere.

Excellent except for having to wait to get seated. Food choices are great & prepared as expected. If possible go after 2 PM for lunch

The food is alright not the best for the price the biggest issue is the space from customers and servers bumping into you it makes it not enjoyable. The other issue is they started picking plates and it seems like they want you to leave as soon as possible you feel rushed out.

Everything was fine except the service, our waitress never went back to check for refills or anything. Food was great and love the restaurant vibe.

My daughter and I were looking for a quiet, special place to have dinner as we had not seen each other for a time. We happened on this quaint and lovely bistro accidently. The service was outstanding from the hostess to the waitress to the young woman clearing the table. We sat outside on the patio and the ambience was perfect, soft music, twinkling lights. We shared the chicken picatta and crepe with strawberries. Both were excellent. You have to try Birdies special tea which was served in a fine bone China cup, the way tea should be served. The entire evening was perfect and we both highly recommend eating here.

I went here for my birthday today and it was amazing! Our waiter opened the door for us, pulled out our chairs and made us feel very welcome! The food was amazing! I plan on going back all the time 🩷

Good food but seems like they need more servers. But they really need to replace that lady at the front host. I being there 3 times and the 3 times this lady treated me not so nice(acttually she was rude) gave it the chance multiple times because of the good food they serve but I just can't handle bad attitude. We were a party of 7 celebrating my daughter's 27th birthday but after this rude lady we decided to go aomewhereelse. So I call Doroteo's restaurant. And not only they were really polite & kind their food its really good and not too pricey

You need to eat here. The food and staff are awesome. Had the eggs Benedict (yum, and is the first place that has ever gotten the whites of my eggs cooked and the yoke runny) Such a cute place. Google maps had difficulty finding it. Just know it faces Main Street, is 2 stories and has a lot of large trees and potted plants surrounding it.

A really good place to have brunch on a date, with family, or friends! A very cute spot that has really nice staff and tasty food! The burger was really good! I'd def recommend if you're looking for a new place to try!

Great place for brunch and lunch. Friendly staff and the food was delicious. The teapot for the tea we had was so pretty and the hot chocolate was delicious. We love coming here.

The molletes are very small so I didn't like that too much, but everyone else that was with me enjoyed their brunch a lot.

Nice staple on Main with really great brunch selections. Their service seems to noticably lack on their busiest times, but other than that, I've typically had a good experience.

The place was beautiful, the service was top notch, and the food was simply mouthwatering. Will visit again when we’re in town.

The food was absolutely delicious! From the mimosa to the steak and eggs! You didn't have a designated waiter/ess but everyone kept checking up on you. It took a while for them to get out check since they kept getting customers but overall a good experience

Came here with my sister for the first time today; amazing place! From the vibes, to the staff, to the food - such a great place! The staff is so nice & welcoming. It was a little packed inside so we sat outside but that wasn’t a problem with this chilly weather. Sister was craving breakfast so she chose chicken & waffles & I got a chicken salad sandwich. Everything came out super good! Even the mimosas 🥂😋 Can’t wait to visit again; hopefully we can get to sit inside 🫣🤞🏼 Definitely recommend!

Very little classy place loved all the food and the atmosphere was amazing.

Went to have breakfast with a group of friends today.. Definitely not for big groups! There is very little space and they had a hard time fitting us in. Some of the servers were very rude and our server was Auctioning our food . Food is good 👍🏻 but the ambient and staff bad. Not kid friendly, overpriced, and they added a 20% gratitude that was not deserved

I absolutely love eating at Birdie bistro it is so amazing. I've tried their French toast, omelette, south west egg Benedict, Chilaquiles, stuffed avocado, and Alfredo topped with salmon. Nothing ever disappoints not to mention the decor and the environment remind me of a European fairytale. The entire experience is truly exquisite

First time going and it was great. The Fettuccine with Grilled salmon Alfredo was great. With Italian sauce is a must. The passion fruit mimosas are great also.

The food was good but not good enough to back up the bill total. In addition, I wanted just a waffle as a side to go with a breakfast plate I was interested in which was already like $10, and according to the waiter, they do not do that or are not able to. I was told I had to purchase the whole waffle plate ($10+) in addition to the breakfast plate just so I can get the waffle. There was really not much to choose from on the menu as far as breakfast is concerned, so I decided on the breakfast croissant sandwich which I really was not craving at all. It was good but not what I was looking for and I could have just made that at home. I wouldn't come here again. I leave happier from IHOP than I did here. This place was just toooo noisy as well and looked like a child decorated it. Wouldn't reccomend. Service was good though!

I love Birdie Bistro and have been there many times for brunch, lunch and dinner. They never disappoint! The food is consistently delicious and the wait staff is attentive. The ambiance is fun, so a great choice for celebrating birthdays and special occasions. I highly recommend!

I would eat here every day if I could! The service is impeccable, and the value for the quality and quantity of food? You just can't beat it. I had an omelette with a side of roasted potatoes, and can't get over just how delicious and well prepared the meal was! Already looking forward to my next meal here!

Saw them on the news for all of the wrong reasons. Food inspectors found 22 violations! ¡Que Asco! Never eating here again!

all i can say is 22 violations out of 24...that alone says it all!! 5 of the kitchen staff had NO food handlers. I called to simply inquire about a job. She stated No, but if I gave her my name and number she would call me if something opens up. I explained I had my food handlers card just so she kne that little piece of information about me. I proceeded to give her my name and number. I started to spell my name and she quickly shut me up and said "okay!" I knew she wasn't writing anything down so I then asked her how she spelled my last name. She could not answer me so I quickly said "it's fine." In a nice tone. I then said and my number? She hangs up on me.... Great service miss. Manager!! thats great your not hiring just say that instead of... let me get your name and number and act like your writing it down...

My friend, 5 year old daughter, and I had brunch there. Absolutely lovely place. I can see why ther3 is such demand. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was adorable, and the food was delicious and fresh. I do wish the waiting area was inside though. It was very hot outside and the parking was very limited.

Went there for breakfast the service was horrible. The food was absolutely terrible. No flavor to it and the roasted potatoes tasted so bad. Would not go there again nor recommend this place

Beautiful restaurant and great food! I only had two issues. The first was there was no soap at all in the ladie's restroom and the second is the man cleared the plates before we could stop him because my daughter wasn't done with her food. Other than that, it was really great! Definitely want to go back.

Popular place...Very crowded! They no longer use the upstairs seating... Probably because of the shortage of waitstaff that has been occurring at most restaurants.

The food was delicious. I ordered a southwest quiche and a cup of fruit, and the fruit was fresh and juicy. The crust on the quiche was flaky and the filling was piping hot and so savory. It's was a perfect breakfast. The place is charming, and I would have easily given it 5 stars except for a few things: 1) the music was so loud it hurt my throat to talk to the others at my table. There were only two other tables filled in the place with three other servers, so it wasn't busy, so there was no need for the loudness, and yet the music blared. 2) the service was less than adequate. They were pleasant enough, but they barely paid attention to our table. I did mention there were three servers and only three tables, correct? Yet I had to get up, walk to the chatting servers, and ask them to serve us more coffee. They brought my breakfast, which my husband was sharing with me, but forgot to bring my mother her order. I had to walk back to the group of servers to ask about her order. Later I had to flag them once again to get our tab to leave. They weren't busy, but they kept me on my toes ensuring they were doing their job. If I based my review solely on the service, this review would be much, much lower. However, I'm not as focused on that because the food was excellent.

Honestly a little over rated. The wait for 2 on a Saturday was about an hour. The food wasnt as good as I expected for the pretty expensive price. They also have an upstairs area that appeared to be closed, would have been prettier if we were able to sit up there. I would give 4 stars if the price reflected the quality/taste of the food we got. We did have a nice time there and server was nice and attentive.

Our waitress didn’t check on us after remembering to take our order then never brought our drinks out, and we paid $70 for water and two dishes that did not taste good and took a while to come out. Had to get up to go inside and pay to get someone to pay attention. Would not go back there again.

Everything we ordered was delicious, from mimosas to dessert. Not one thing we tried that we didn’t love. The service is great. The atmosphere is unique and dangerously cute!

The worst experience that anyone can have. We walked in and were greeted by a gentleman that sat us down next to the door. The waiters would pass by for 20 minutes and never asked for our drink order trying to get there attention for the last 10 minutes they were so interested in the argument that they had going on. NEVER AGAIN!!! Will we set foot in this restaurant.

Birdies is the place to be for brunch. The mimosas are to die for. Either by the glass or the pitcher, obviously we always get the pitcher. And you can choose between orange juice, mango juice and grapefruit juice! The chicken and waffles are the star of the show. Their coffee isn’t bad either but why would you need coffee if their mimosas are everything. The staff are always so polite and the atmosphere is elegant. Great place for taking pictures since the whole place is one huge aesthetic. Hehehe

Absolutely delicious. They were so kind to serve me pleasantly when I came in 20 minutes before closing due to my late arrival to McAllen. Chicken and Waffles was hot, sweet and scrumptious. The latte was perfect and puts most coffee houses to shame. Highly recommend and will be back.

1st time going, order the California garlic shrimp, and substitute the almond rice with a side of grilled vegetables, due too gluten allergy the owner was more that will too change it for me. Food came out quickly & it was delicious, definitely going back & definitely recommending it everyone i know.

Don’t let the photos fool you. Food is Absolutely disgusting. Ordered Chicken and Waffles. Received burnt frozen flat mystery meat and fried cake batter. Coffee was watered down. Asked for warm syrup, got candied brown sugar. I had to get up and go inside to ask for service. This place is NOT pet friendly, at all. And English is not the first language. Best you understand and speak Spanish. I do NOT recommend you experience this location. Ever.🚫

I love what they're going for, but they would benefit from a few adjustments. Inside is overly crowded with knick knacks that make it feel like a hoarder grandma's house, which also limits your personal space and movement for fear of knocking/ tumbling any figurine over. Claustrophobics and minimalist lovers beware. When I visited, there was a horrendous smell that I can only liken to a leaky gas pipe mixed with an overflowing septic tank -- not what you wanna be slammed by as you enter any eatery. Bringing the putrid smell up was the first thing I did as it seemed unsanitary, but the staff brushed it off, blaming it on a building across the street. Yet, outside there was no smell whatsoever 🤔. To avoid the stench, I sat outside, where it was 102° F, no breeze, no fan, nothing...just me, the sweltering heat, and the sweat racing down my back 😕. I did have a sangria whose finely cubed fruit to liquid ratio was excellent 👌🏼. My server was courteous and accommodating at all times.The portions are hefty, and their sweet potatoes are the best I've ever had 😋. Once the sun went down and a nice shade settled in, it was pleasant and enjoyable. Hoping they get that smell under control to keep everyone's appetite in tact, and so that sitting outside in the heat is a choice, not a necessity.

Honestly I’ve been here 3 times already and the food is amazing, especially the potatoes. They’re so good. The eggs Benedict are delicious. I did order the chorizo ones but I prefer the og. My mom ordered the omelette and it was delicious. There’s more several plates we ordered and they were all delicious. Staff is friendly and fast. The cajeta cake is to die forrr. Overall DELICIOUS

Wow, I just saw a comment from the owner saying how ridiculous the comment is of someone posting about how they gave bad service because they predicted on how it might of been that her parents weren't dressed up fancy. Instead of the owner saying that they apologize and promising to make sure they'll give good service next time and he/she just puts that comment instead. I will not consider going to eat there cause I went through the same thing with my friends and thought I was the only one who was thinking that. The waitress and that blond lady who were just sitting down by the computer didn't even seem interested and gave us a tone while asking which bill mine was. All though, they should know and not make us feel unwanted. One star, only for the place is cute. I came a couple months ago and see how it is before coming back to eat again, then I see the owner calling out a comment by saying "ridiculous".

What a gem this place is! We were in McAllen for a couple days and happened upon this little slice of heaven. The service was amazing, the ambiance magical, and the food was delicious. This is a don't miss if you're in the area or just passing through!!
