The food and service were fine. It was far too noisy. I could not hear what my friends were saying. For that reason I am not keen to go there again. They need to re think decor, add carpets, or whatever it takes to deaden noise. Everyone seemed to end up shouting.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Service was great and the atmosphere was festive! All the staff were polite, helpful and welcoming. Chef was also very accommodating to our allergies which was much appreciated. Will definitely be heading back in the new year.

Had Christmas menu here it was outstanding. We are a group of 21 old friends who meet up before Christmas every year. The Bird In Hand never fails to provide excellent 5* food at reasonably prices with excellent service. If you want to eat mid week lunch time for £8 it’s great

The best food you can get short of Michelin stars, and better value for money. They cater for all tastes and allergies. Excellent service. They catered for our party of 28 and an extra table of 6.

Fantastic!! Staff couldn’t do enough for us. We were part of a party of 28 people and the staff were flawless. Our children were running around and impatient but the staff were calm, kind and accommodating. Food was beautiful. Hot food and freshly made, absolutely delicious. Cosy environment and everyone is so friendly and happy, helpful. Look forward to coming again!

Not coeliac friendly ..when my daughter booked the table told them I was coeliac when we arrived also said to waitress I was coeliac she didn't care really . I told her I react very quickly to gluten usually within 20/30 minutes . We went ahead and ordered I reiterated my gluten problem.the starter I ordered said gf I ate it and low and behold it contained gluten i then could not eat my main meal . The waitress was slightly rude in my opinion when I finished my starter she said you still ok.then . But I then had to go to the loo and was very ill only just managed to get home had to rush to loo as soon as I hot home and had to spend rest of day on sofa and only able to tolerate water. My daughter went back into restaurant to speak up them about me being gluttened and the waitress became very aggressive towards her . She was told the landlady would ring her but she still hasn't. To get gluttened when you told them from the very beginning is not good so I will never go back there. Just want to inform other coeliacs of the attitude and no care given would definitely give this place a miss

Good food and well cooked. Unfortunately the first thing both of us noiticed when we sat down in the restaurant was that the carpet was smelly. Service was good. Moderately busy.

Absolutely beautiful roast…time and time again never fails to impress. 3 course Sunday lunch is such value for money and great portion sizes! Grandson loved his nuggets too!! Eton mess is the best!!!

Fabulous Sunday roast , well cooked and huge portions. Two of our party required the gluten free option and were amazed to to have almost identical plates to the none gluten , the only difference being the addition of gluten free Yorkshire pudding . Would recommend.

We went for a Sunday Roast.The meal was very good in every respect .However for us the dining room was far too noisy and crowded .The ladies toilets also left a lot to be desired.No doubt at less busy times the experience would have been far more pleasant.

Three of us had very good meals here, large portions and reasonably priced. Two people were gluten free and had many choices.Service was excellent, will definitely be back.

We came here with family for a Festive meal on Saturday 17th Dec at 16:30. We had our table in front of the fireplace, and my wife and I who had never been here before, were very impressed with the lovely oldie worldee panelled restaurant area. The service was excellent and was only surpassed by the truly wonderful meals we all had. Three of us had the soup starter and I had the King Prawn, Crayfish, Crab and Salmon starter. Three of us then had the Turkey Roast with all the trimmings which was just wonderful. The other meal was the Cauliflower tart/Roast. Dessert soon followed with magnificent Cheeseboards each which we loved. A really superb meal with terrific food and excellent service was very much appreciated and if we are ever in the area again we would certainly call in. Parking is at a premium as the car park had literally only two spaces remaining when we arrived. This place would certainly benefit from a sign at the main road junction highlighting "The Bird in Hand" Pub/Restaurant as it is off the beaten track. If I hadn't of been with family who come here all the time I would never have known it was there. Thank you for a really great afternoon and a brilliant experience.

very nice cant fault after visiting some of the other pubs ll upon this by chance , great food great service from start to finish , very busy but the team were great and looked after us so well will be back again soon

Wife and I ate here twice in the last two weeks and will go again tomorrow. On both recent visits my wife ordered lasagne which is delicious, ample and comes with a big pot of really amazing chips! It's also great value on their lunchtime special menu (noon to 3pm). I enjoyed the stroganoff (with rice) which again was very good indeed. Last Tuesday, we tried the 'trial' chicken pot pie which as always with their pies, came extremely hot, perfectly cooked puff pastry on top and lots of chicken (and mushrooms) inside. Only downside was that the filling was a tad floury, it needed a drop of liquid/stock to round it off but the chicken was juicy. We left feedback with the delightful Liz to pass on. If you haven't been, go. If you haven't been for a while, go soon! Cracking meals...

Excellent. Stopped here for dinner and it was excellent. The food tasted lovely, massive portions and fast service. The lady behind the bar was very helpful and friendly. The nachos were fantastic with lovely flavour. The décor was typical pub and the place was clean and tidy. Overall highly recommend!!!

We have had many meals at the Bird In Hand and the service and food has been excellent. Hoverer on the recent visit was not so good, we had main course and desert we we’re to the same exacting standard we have come to expect. The service was not so good, my wife had to go to the bar and ask about desserts after about 40mins of finishing our meal, we they arrived to served the desserts they previous plates from the meal had not been removed, and the waitress said oh! No one had bothered to asked if the meal was ok or to see if we wanted anything before my wife went to the bar! Then after finishing the meal (which I could not fault in anyway) the bill Had a service charge, which I was quite shocked to see, I would have quite happily give the people working in the kitchen, the strong end staff however were not worthy of any service charge. I have always given the Bird in Hand 5* reviews in the past, please review the trading of the waitresses and the service charge otherwise you may start to loose custom in future.

4 different meals, fish and chips, chicken satay burger, bird in hand burger and chilli nachos, all very fresh and tasty, everyone was happy, beer was good and the young girls looked after us, it will be a regular for them, thank you guys

We have been a couple of times and the food is fresh and of a excellent standard and the friendly and accommodating staff are to are excellent, it is our new go to place for a celebration/ meal , the combo starter I highly recommend.

Amazing meal. Booked a table for 12 for a 21st birthday. One of our party was slightly late and they were very accommodating and rushed order through. The food was plentiful and very tasty. For the amount of food we had the prices were very reasonable. Service was amazing. Every meal we have here is amazing! Keep up the good work! We will be back!

12 of us met tonight for the first time since Covid and we were not disappointed! The food was delicious-and plentiful! There was a good choice of dishes, so there was something for everyone. Our compliments to the chef! It was also great that we were able to do individual bills, saving a lot of aggro over who had what! We will be back! (Apologies for the noise level!!)

Really enjoyable evening on New Years Eve. 7 course Gourmet Menu was just amazing, it was well presented and every course was delicious , excellent value at £55 per person. Wine is reasonably priced. Lisa and Karl and their team are doing a great job in these challenging times.

Excellent value Sunday roast and decent portion size. You can have three course for less than £20, not that I could eat three courses, that's fantastic wherein some pubs charge nearly £20 just for one course.

Sunday lunch at our friends local, lovely fresh, tasty food, generous portions, good menu choice, good options for kids meals. Very busy, must book. Burgers were really good, kids one huge!

Booked a table of 11 for Sunday lunch and cannot recommend the pub more highly. We sat in the restaurant (which isn’t big so prebooking is a must!) some of us had Sunday roasts and some ate off the normal menu. The roasts were large, delicious portions with lovely tender meat. The food on the main menu was just as good! Service was a tiny bit slow BUT did not detract from our experience at allGood gluten feee options too

We have just returned home from a lovely family Sunday lunch for 11 people. The food was very good, served hot and good sized portions. The meat was excellent, moist, tender and plenty of it. Just a couple of observations, the door to the bar etc opening very close to the back of a customers chair, not ideal and we were told the minted burger was made using minced lamb, which it wasn’t, it was pieces which were luckily very tender ( my 89yr mother has problem teeth) . Other than that all very good.

We came here last night as a group of 14 and had a wonderful meal and excellent service.It’s always difficult with a big group but the restaurant managed superbly. We did not need to pre- order and everything we chose in the evening arrived piping hot and all at the same time. There is a good mix of options on the menu and everyone was happy with their choices.This is a lovely restaurant and obviously very well managed with a very good chef.Thank you !

Had a superb Christmas meal at the Bird in Hand. The food is always good value and one of the best pub meals to be had in the area.

Pub grub with a eye on perfection! The food in this place is consistently good! Cooked with care and attention it never disappoints.

Not that impressed. Very small restaurant and food was very basic. Nothing special. Wouldn't rush back. There are far better pubs out there.

Tiny pub, would suggest you call ahead and get a booking on a Friday or Saturday night. One half of the pub serves incredible food, the other is more drink and sit around the table. This is better for eating than drinking. During the week it's quiet, as a little village pub can be, but you come here for the food, not the atmosphere.

Great family meal we all enjoyed our meals and service was very good. Prices very good. As this was a family get together it was nice not to feel rushed. The bird in hand is a great local venue well done to a great team .

Lived in the surrounding area for 32 years and I had never heard of this pub, on the way back from a friend popped in for a quick drink with the husband and the drinks were lovely, only disappointing factor was a group of young lads causing a racket whilst playing pool

Again, solo dining and decided to eat here due to the reviews on TripAdvisor. With a 2 course early bird meal for only £12 you can’t go wrong! It was a lovely evening so sat in the garden area...... again with my book. I decided on a main and dessert...... and the portions were big! I had the scampi followed by the profiteroles..... I couldn’t eat all the chips and could only eat 2 of the 3 HUGE profiteroles, as yummy as it all was. Good service too!

We recently had my son's 21st birthday party here with a hog roast. Lisa & her team did a fantastic job for us, the service was brilliant & the hog roast was amazing. Highly recommended & they serve Budweiser on tap!!

We went on Saturday night. My husband had their signature lasagne, which comes with a pot of salad and a pot of delicious home made fat chips. My husband assured me it was excellent as usual

What a wonderful place, such a hidden gem, but luckily we were here on local recommendation. Came here for Sunday lunch with my parents and we were so glad we did. Food was absolutely fantastic. Roast beef was delicious, juicy and very decent sized portions, and likewise the turkey was moist, tender and delicious. Actual crispy roast potatoes, and served with a huge Yorkshire pud, steamed veg that was cooked to perfection not mush, and a a side of cauliflower cheese which was a lovely addition. We had originally planned to have 2 courses (main+dessert) but had to call it quits at just the main due to the size of the meal! Staff were very helpful, friendly and happy and the pub itself was very nice. Price was fantastic at £9.95 each. Well worth a visit. We recommend it and definitely will return soon!

Sadly it was a Monday, not busy , food not good, first bad meal in around 10 years of custom , totally upset as I have been singing its praises for years. All I can say is just avoid Mondays , weekends fabulous.

I’ve been visiting here for over 17 years. Great food, chips amazing. Sunday lunch is excellent. I’d like to see a bit more of occasional menu change, used to have calf’s liver, but no longer. Great service, the team there always friendly It’s quite compact in the dining area, and can get noisy but never a problem.

Have eaten at The Bird in Hand before, and last time, was a little disappointed. Thought we would give it another go, and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered from the early bird menu. My husband and I both had whitebait as a starter, which was nicely presented, lots of it and very tasty. I had ham, egg, chips and peas for my main course and my husband had scampi. Service was friendly, food was very nice and found the early bird menu to be excellent value.

A friend and I visited here last night, we have spent many a good night at this pub and last night was no exception, the bar food is always really good especially the chilli nachos. One downside to this particular pub is the volume of the juke box, it’s not a great place to go if you want to actually have a chat with friends you tend to have to shout to each other.

Booked for my Mother in laws 70th birthday, lucky for us it was a Sunday and we could all have the Roast as it was fantastic. Very accommodating staff making tweaks for children and fussy adults alike.

We all enjoyed a 3 course dinner for Easter Sunday. The food was really nice, the service was excellent in a nice relaxed atmosphere. They gave the children a small Easter egg which was a nice.

Never had a bad meal here, and we’ve had plenty. Great Sunday roast, generous portions and fantastic value particularly weekday lunches.

Went to the Bird in Hand for a relaxing lunch, on the lunch menu the only option for me was cheese ploughman’s or a goats cheese & beetroot salad! “Well we have fish on there” was the response from the landlady. Considering you are supposed to have come from Pennyhill Park surely you should understand the concept of vegetarianism, the clue is in the name. I was not impressed and have to say that Wetherspoons has a better menu for Vegetarians than this place, and a better attitude.

Apart from eating here with friends, we also bring a party of 24 or so for Sunday lunch two or three rimes a year. They always do a first rate job in serving our party, some of whom use the standard menu rather than have a Sunday roast. The food is always good and plentiful - in fact the roast portions are almost too large - and is excellent value for money. There is also a special weekday lunch menu at a really good price which is, deservedly, popular and is in addition to the standard menu. And, to top it off, they have a special gluten free menu in addition to vegetarian dishes. Recommended.

Had excellent service & food all the times we have been. The last visit, we were a party of 11 and the service was fantastic. Had a couple of fussy eaters with us and they both said the meals they had were excellent. We were not hurried or rushed, waitresses were polite, friendly and efficient. All meals were well presented & portions are plentiful. f you are looking for hearty meals, a country pub atmosphere and good value for money, look no further.

After a gentle walk at the Sandhurst memorial park a group of us went for lunch to this restaurant.Apart from two men in our group all the other tables had only ladies meeting up for lunch.As we were quite a few of us we had pre placed our orders so did not need to wait a lot. I think everyone liked what they had ordered except for my husband who said he was served spaghetti bologonaise which was only Luke warm.The menu is varied but nothing special.

First visit to the restaurant and I can firmly agree with their #1 Tripadvisor rating. Staff were incredibly friendly and the food was amazing. From the perfectly cooked Cheesy Garlic bread and union rings through Fillet steak and Garlic prawns. Could not fault the dining experience at all. Suggest you book as it's quite a small restaurant area and it seems very popular.

We hadn't expected to need to eat lunch out today so were caught on the hop - happily we discovered Bird in Hand and it was the first of many visits I suspect.

I visit this pub quite regularly with friends and I can honesty say I’ve never had a bad meal. I’ve eaten in the restaurant side and the pub side. The staff are always friendly and the facilities are always in a good clean condition

Visited with family late Saturday afternoon. The menu is wide and varied and the quality and portion size of the food couldn’t be faulted. I opted for the surf and turf which was out of this world and everyone else enjoyed their meals. The staff are extremely friendly and the service is quick and efficient. Would definitely return to this little gem of a pub.

Hidden in the back streets of Little SANDHURST the Bird in Hand is a welcoming venue for lunch consisting of traditional pub one side and homely restaurant the other.

Had a late sunday lunch here. It was busy but service was good. Reasonably priced set menu. Only disappointment was they had run out of one of the Sunday roast selections (the one i wanted) so i had to choose from the board. The selection was OK but basic. Portions are a good size.

Lovely atmosphere, great food and friendly staff. Staff were accomodating close to Christmas. Had the duck wrap as a starter and then for mains we had the chicken Curry and roast turkey which were both lovely. Would happily return again in the future

Fantastic pub with a very warm, friendly atmosphere and dogs are welcome too. We were a party of three including our 12yr old. The pub is split into two sections. One section houses the restaurant and the other section is where Sky Sports is shown and there is also a pool table. We found a great little table by the fire and enjoyed watching the football and talking to the regulars. Whilst there, we enjoyed a roast beef dinner, nut roast dinner and fish finger sandwich with chips. The roast dinners were amazing and beautifully cooked. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon, brilliant food and we will certainly be back again.

My family members paid for a buffet at this pub for my mums birthday party but upon arrival we were greeted by a pub full of men watching a football game. We understood we couldn’t pay for exclusivity of the premise however our party couldn’t get to the bar throughout the night due to the overall rowdiness of the place.

Best Place around for food! Definitely recommend. I have been there countless times. Especially on a Sunday. Lovely roast and even though service can be slow sometimes (they are quite busy so I don't really mind) this is my place to go when I'm taking people out or even just for a nice meal as a couple. They have a lunch menu that is amazing for only £7 and their Blue Cheese Bacon Avocado Salad is to die for! I have tried almost everything on the menu so I could write an essay about it LOL.

This pub does a great Sunday lunch and as a vegetarian it really is an excellent veggie meal.. good atmosphere and good menu for veggies and gluten free. Highly recommended.

We visited on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is small but didn’t feel overcrowded. Food was delicious. Portion sizes generous. Only niggle was we were trying to get waitress attention for a drink replen but she appeared to be typing on her phone behind the bar. We ended up going up to the bar to get some more drinks. We would however visit again. Thanks to the chef for producing lovely enjoyable food.

We visit The Bird in Hand on a regular visit at least twice a week. The £7 lunch time menu is excellent. Menu changes weekly too. Service is friendly and very efficient.

Not brilliant but ok. Good to have as a local but would not go too often. Food moderate and nothing to write home about

3 of us all ordered differently a little too hot for a Sunday lunch but I had the lamb chops and was offered a roast to go with rather than the menu of salad and chips. As usual meals were served hot and perfectly cooked and we all enjoyed. Service was good although they were very busy and enjoyed our meal there. Maybe a good thing we do not live nearer but would love this as a local

I booked an outside catering for my grandson first birthday. They cooked a lovely pulled pork for us, provided apple sauce, home made coleslaw, bread rolls and delivered it all to my daughter’s house. It was all lovely and took the stress of having to cook off us and everyone commented on how good the food was. Thanks to Karl and Lisa we got to enjoy the day without much hassle. Definitely recommend!

we normally go for the Early bird menu before 7pm and this is excellent value. They need to freshen up the menu more often as it gets a bit similar.The Sunday lunch however is emend and you need to go and try it out booking is a must.
