We managed to grab a precious outdoor table on the Sunday morning of the last bank holiday weekend - rather like finding the lost ark - and revelled in the sunshine. Service is friendly and efficient, given the high demand, and the food was freshly prepared and tasty. Both our boys were not impressed either with the sausages (over-cooked) or bacon (too salty) but the veggie breakfast went down well! The dog gladly snaffled the unwanted meat without complaint! Very happy to return when next we visit the Witterings...

I had heard about this place and wanted to give it a try, so did the 1 1/2hr journey on a breezy, chilly day.

The Gribble Inn

24/03/2018: We had not been for years to this country pub. Very nice place with open fire places and low beams everywhere. Watch your head! We all had a great lunch, fish &chips;, lovely sausages and bubble & squeek. large burger. Home made fries. Beautiful sweets. Best one rice pudding.meal for four with wines came to 89 pounds.
27/05/2018: Have visited many times over the years and enjoyed a very good evening meal with friends on this visit.

The Fox Goes Free

17/06/2018: Clearly a very popular venue in a small village, which means people are happy to make the journey. A proper pub with rooms and a good atmosphere in and out. Decor beams and old church chairs but nicely done and well presented table. Service very good with a new virtually untrained waitress who connected well with the diners. Food with imagination of high quality and a well chosen wine list. Plenty of parking.
03/04/2018: Went with my wife for a evening meal on a Friday evening. I ordered fish and chips and my wife prawn and chorizo risotto. Both were very good. We both also had a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc which was really excellent if a bit expensive. Recommended
