Great friendly service for dinner for our large group of 14 people plus 3 toddlers. Staff were lovely and very patient and kind. The food was great, huge portions! Only one vegan option, but this vegan burger is a special one that the chef has taken some care over. Thank you!

I visited this restaurant on the Tuesday after Easter with my brother, drawn in by the appetising food pictures on Google Maps. The setting was modern and the staff, friendly. We chose the Billycan platter for two, featuring a generous mix of small burgers, fried chicken, fish, chips, and beef. While the quantity seemed satisfying, I began feeling bloated after a few bites, which I initially attributed to the portion size. Unfortunately, my discomfort escalated into persistent vomiting and symptoms of gastroenteritis after returning home to London that evening. Compounding this, my brother, who traveled to Bath post visit, experienced identical symptoms throughout the night and the following morning, ruining his day as a tourist. I only dined here once, so I can't speak to their usual standards of hygiene. But it's disheartening to report that our visit was followed by such severe gastroenteritis symptoms, suggesting a potential issue with the food quality that day. Overall, 2 stars just for the modern environment and friendly attitude of the staff.

I've been coming here for years. Great place to eat . Portion sizes and quality of the food is excellent. Great choice across the menu. Sunday lunch dinners are outstanding with a smaller menu choice for those who dont eat a traditional Sunday lunch. There is something for everyone. Friendly staff can not do enough for you. If friends say to me I'm going to Tenby, I always say go to the Billycan ! I would advise you to book a table if you're planning in going there.

Amazing Portions. The menu offered a great selection. We ordered the Fish Pie, Hake Tikka and 10oz Sirloin. The first thing that struck us was the sheer size of the portions. They were huge, the food was fresh and I really liked the eclectic and simple design of the restaurant. There was plenty of room for three adults and a sleeping toddler. The staff were very friendly, attentive and quick with service. Overall I would definitely recommend stopping in for a meal.

Went here for a family meal, and it did not disappoint! The starters were fantastic and very big portions. We all had different mains, kebab, steak, and burgers. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed, and my partner said it was the best steak he's ever had! The service was also fantastic. Highly recommended. It's not too pricey either!

just had a Christmas meal for a party of 9.... lovely food, great service, friendly staff. the chef made a specific starter & mains for one guest with specific food intolerance with no problems. absolutely faultless.... be warned the portion sizes are large so make sure you've got plenty of room in your tummy for these yummy dishes! 😋

Four of us Sunday lunch here and it was nothing short of excellent. Each of us had a different meat and there were all lovely. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and it’s the same every time we come here.

A delayed celebratory meal for Mothers day so my daughter insisted on pushing the boat out. This called for the seafood platter to share. Not entirely sure what to expect, my word what a feast, trust me you need two hearty appetites to tackle this selection. Tempura prawns- delicious, calamari, our favourite, juicy mussels aplenty and half a lobster each all delicious though lobster cooked a we tad over so rather tough but we wrestled that beast down. Didn't really hit the chips as we were determined to do the platter justice. The side salad was delicious and helped to cut through the richness of the platter. Next time we'd ask for two salads instead of chips. Not a cheap meal but a real treat for a special occasion and would highly recommend. Staff friendly and helpful, very busy even out of season so always best to book. We will be back for sure. Thanks Billycan 😊

Sunday lunch was amazing. So much food

We were having a drink in a Tenby pub as I searched for places to eat lunch. This sounded good and then the guy behind the bar seconded the recommendation. Nicely decorated and dog friendly too which is always a bonus. My husband had chicken burger which was about as far from a McDonald’s chicken burger as you could imagine. Full chicken fillet, with a generous amount of bacon and cheese inside a floured bap. This was served with chips and a lovely fresh side salad. There’s not many meals he finishes these days but he was determined and more or less managed it. I had a very spicy chicken madras which definitely wasn’t boil in the bag. Big chunks of tender chicken served with rice, chips and a naan bread. Most madras chicken in restaurants are bland but this wasn’t and all the better for it. I couldn’t finish it as I was completely stuffed. Both meals were fab and we’d definitely recommend.

Lunch with a friend was absolutely superb! Friendly and efficient staff and the food was delicious. We both had fish gougons and chips and the portions were huge! Food came within about 10-12mins of ordering and was hot a fresh. We did book in advance and had a lovely window table. My friend and I were both super impressed with our experience we will definitely be back

Another great meal, we had the saffron chicken and cheese burger both really lovely and big portions and along with a nice Sauvignon Blanc superb value.

On the sound recommendation of a friend, we tried to get into Billycan today, and Adam managed to squeeze us in with a nice table for two. From the moment we entered, it was a joyous, relaxing experience. Jess gave us very attentive service with a bubbly personality, and nothing too much trouble. Both my wife's meal and mine, one chicken, one beef, were delightful. Expertly cooked and good portions. Good to have friends!! Will definitely return and book in advance next time. Well done to all of the team.

What can I say? Expect the best and you won’t be disappointed. The food is exceptional and the staff are friendly . It’s a must place to eat if you go to Tenby.

One word "stunning", 50+ years old and this was THE BEST Sunday Lunch I've ever had. So much meat & roasties we hardly touched the tureens of vegetables.

Booked to dine here 2 days before our visit arrived to be sat on a tiny table right by the toilet , it was as if it was just stuck there as they had over booked , it was so loud and noisy we decided to leave , thankfully found a lovely restaurant further up the street

So glad we visited Billycan. Slightly hidden off the main street but the restaurant is so clean 👌 food was amazing - freshly made fish pie, crab and king prawn linguine and chips 🍟 great pint and service was great, highly recommended. Thanks, we will be back

Nice atmosphere and good food. We had an enjoyable evening but (like many places to eat in Tenby) found it expensive and wouldn’t class it as value for money. Myself and my wife had the Moroccan lamb shank and both struggled to understand what was Moroccan about it, however it was still tasty. Very popular, if you want to give it a go I’d suggest booking ahead.

Our previous visits over the years to Billycan have been very hit and miss, but given its position as No1 in Tenby, we booked for the first night of our recent holiday. Sadly the night proved to be another miss, so we shan't bother going back again. The management team appear to be very complacent and despite informing our waitress twice that we were disappointed with the meal, the manageress didn't bother to come to speak to us. We had ordered the Billycan Sharing Platter. Taking each item in turn (and as you can see in the photo): the mini burger buns were well overcooked and the burgers were dry; the cod goujons were undercooked; the chicken breasts (goujons!) were overcooked to point were it was almost impossible to cut through them; the meat in the mini steak pies was good but the pastry was cold and stale. The chips were ok. The small side salad had turned to mush under the hot chicken. We ate most of it because we were hungry. We really would have liked the opportunity to give feedback to the manager as it was disappointing.

A favourite stop for food. Always large portions, always done well and never as extortionate as some places in this small seaside town.
