Billingtons Coffee Shop in East Dunbartonshire

Must of been a bad day when we went. Service and welcome were almost non existant. We sat there while the staff chatted away with their backs to us for quite a long time. It was cold and uninviting and the menu uninspiring. So we decided to go to another local haunt, which was 100% better.

Love this little place - coffee is great, staff super friendly and genuinely like your dog being there, and the food is always super tasty! Plenty gluten free options. Worth reserving a place at weekends.

Picturesque little coffee place in the middle of a picturesque village! We stayed 2 nights in Milton of Campsie, and ate lunch there the first day and breakfast before we left the second day. The staff were friendly, the coffee was tasty, and the food was incredible! Extremely well priced, nice portion sizes, and some of the best food we had on our UK vacation so far! Much tastier than we expected from a little coffee shop. Try the Haggis & Jelly or Smoked Salmon sandwiches. Both meals came to £11-12 per person, *including* our lattes!

We got lovely food at this cafe, with their portion sizes being very good. Their coffee was lovely and they were very dog-friendly. Would certainly go back. Staff were lovely and accommodating.

Really nice atmosphere, coffee quite good. Menu seemed quite standard with your bacon rolls and paninis etc. I ordered a grilled haloumi with rocket and pesto wrap for £6 or £7 odd and what came back was something smaller than your normal starter, a pile of 2 or 3 small lettuce leaves and a spoonful of crisps on the side of a very tightly wrapped wrap who's filling was so meagre I think they managed to wrap it twice round... all served on a large plate that made it look even smaller. Instead of grilling the halloumi they grilled the entire thing which wilted the rocket and reduced the already small wrap into something the thickness of a biscuit. The size did not live up to the price. However every one else liked what they had. The staff were extremely pleasant. And like I said the coffee was good and the had oat milk which was a bonus. So I think maybe I just chose the wrong thing from their menu. If you have a normal appetite don't order the wrap.

Lovely little coffee shop with some fantastic food.

Waited 50 mins for food to come, hot drinks served straight away but freezing cold by the time food came. Kitchen can't cope with takeaway and cafe customers, need to decide what they are, cafe or takeaway!!

I've just started going to the Fells Coffee house this year mainly for the full Scottish breakfast which is is good and value for money, the Fells Coffee house the staff were very nice and friendly, nice surroundings and the is situated at Milton of Campsie Cross, well worth a visit hope this helps

Stopped in for lunch during our walk. I had the veggie breakfast and a coffee with oatmilk. Was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their food and the staff were friendly and helpful.

A great cafe which serves the most delicious home baking, soups and sandwiches. I had moroccan soup which was one of the tastiest soups I’ve ever had and you can’t say no to cake! The choice is fab and always served with a smile 😊

Delicious coffee & good choice of cakes. Customer service was excellent. We enjoyed sitting outside, resting our legs, in the middle of a cycle.

Cracking wee coffee shop and delicious cake (avocado and courgette!) Visited while still observing social distancing to catch up with friends and the inside was suitably spaced with screens and table service. Big plus was the place being dog friendly (selected days). They even have a menu for your pooch! Highly recommended. Parking across the street.

We stopped off to take on carbs before ascending the Crow Road. The team are simply the best. Really helpful, really really friendly and great hosts. Food was superb and inspired and motivated our 45 mile trip home. Def up there with the best ( now called The Fells)

Good to see this cafe has been reopened under new ownership and renamed The Fells - after a couple of visits I would highly recommend the food and the quality of service - great for us village locals

It's about 1 hour to cycle there from where I live, but always worth the effort. I've always gone for the burger, and they've got a good selection of bottled beer. It's the kind of place you don't want to leave (so many cakes, so little time)

Nice addition to the area, first time I have tried it and found no problems, staff nice and good menu, would return.

I went in to get some takeaway coffee after being in a bad restaurant before and climbing in the hills and they were close to closing but they couldn’t have more nice and happy to serve me and the coffee was awesome. So thanks guys

This is a lovely place to stop for a cuppa and a bite to eat. Staff are very friendly and it's contemporary decor makes it a relaxing place to sit awhile

It was alright. Drinks came long after our cakes and were cold. Cake was nice. Tray bakes a bit sweet.

Visited Billingtons in Milton of Campsie for a wee coffee the staff were excellent and offered a variety of choices,the coffee was hot and strong and just how I asked I can recommend people visiting this coffee shop when in the area.

Both times Iv visited Billingtons have been great, there’s a fantastic selection of dishes on the menus and a wide variety of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic. Iv had the same meal both times of a baked potato with cheese and coleslaw and it’s the best baked potato Iv had out in a long long time, the coleslaw is fantastic I have found it hard to find good coleslaw in a restaurant or coffee shop. The cake selection is great, a good choice of gluten free cakes as well. I love it here, the staff are great, the food is great and the atmosphere is great

Totally shocked by the hygiene from the staff. The young man serving me with the semi long hair must have flicked his hand through his hair well over 10 times while I was waiting for a coffee. Then the young girl at the back with the English accent was cleaning down the work surface with a dirty cloth then to my horror passed the cloth to the hair flicking guy as he wiped down the coffee machine steam pipe Then put MY coffee cup up inside of it. Needless to say I poured my £3 plus coffee down the first available drain in the street I think a food hygiene course would not go a miss in this establishment snd a hair net for Mr Hairflick.

Coffee and scone were okay, pleasant wee place. Compared to other 'good cafés' 10-15% more expensive.

Wonderful food every time I go to Billingtons, super lunches, dinners and coffee. AND I discovered today they also do takeaway breakfast rolls. Absolutely superb bacon and egg roll, can't recommend them too highly!

Had a lovely Americano coffee & Toffee muffin in a pleasant relaxing cafe with cheery chatty service & average prices. Lots of variety for lunch, cakes, alcohol, herbal tea & coffee. I also used their clean toilet. Will defo return !

My husband and I had lunch here today whilst on a long training walk. We had driven past it before and thought it looked nice and we certainly were not disappointed. Lovely food, friendly efficient staff, lovely decor and great playlist! Thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend! We will be back! Thank you

This is a great little place for lunch, or just coffee and a cake. It is also licensed. One of its strengths is its staff. We have a somewhat fussy, 6 year old, eater in our family. I tell the staff what this little person does like to eat and the staff make them up a plate of their favourite things - all this is done with a smile. It’s situation is great for cyclists and walkers on the nearby walkway and there is a car park opposite for motorists.

I call in here after a walk or cycle along the old rail line. Nice relaxed atmosphere and great service.

I popped in here for a cappuccino when I was a week too early for the dentist. To my delight there was a gluten free chocolate cake which was beautifully moist. There is parking just across the road and good level access to the cafe. Inside is light and spacious. There are a few steps up to the counter area but the very pleasant staff are happy to take your order without you having to struggle up the steps.

Lovely coffee and homemade cake at this local café in Milton. The staff are lovely and friendly. My mum has a range of issues and they really make her feel special every time she is in. I’m so glad that they are open on Sundays and will be going regularly from now on and urging pals to pop in if they are in the area. A credit to the village and local area.

Visited here for the first time(have been to Billingtons in Lenzie on many occasions) on a Groupon deal which was exceptional value for money. We were asked about dietary requirements and our preference for which type of tea or coffee as well as bread. The stand arrived with tuna and ham salad finger sandwiches, a large plain and fruit scone with jam and clotted cream, two mini mousses, mini Choux buns, traybakes and a macaron. All were delicious. The staff are warm and friendly. The only down side is the tables are close together. Would definitely go back.

We had a late lunch here today and we were warmly welcomed. The Caprese salad was a hit with my niece and my brother in law enjoyed his coronation chicken roll. He only disappointment was the small cheese plate. The onion marmalade was very good but the cheddar cheese was rather orange and rubbery. Shame, as a good, salty, Scottish cheese would have made the plate work beautifully.

Purchased Afternoon Tea through a Groupon deal for my elderly mother and I at just £10.95 and we were not disappointed.

Very impressed with the food in this deli-style coffee shop. Great home-made food and a very welcoming ambience.

Bought the afternoon tea deal on groupon which was excellent value at only £10.95 for two. Bought and booked on the same day, great service! We also had a bowl of homemade soup, this was lovely but felt it was slightly overpriced at £4.50 a bowl, you wouldn’t pay that at a five star hotel for soup but just a small grumble!

Went for breakfast and I was hoping for a full breakfast and my wife was expecting to have scrambled egg on toast. We were surprised that everything came in rolls, so I made do with a roll and sausage and a roll and bacon and my wife had a roll and scrambled egg. It's just surprising that they cook all the breakfast ingredients but don't have a simple breakfast on the menu. All were very good, although I think that their pricing for these is slightly on the high side.

The coffee was good however, the quiche I had with it, has to be the worst ive ever had. Shame

We spotted this cafe and had no real intention of having a coffee however it looked too good to miss and so it proved to be. Found a good parking a area near by. The cafe has an outdoor seating area, indoors is very attractive and you order from the counter. Food and drink is excellent with the home baking a particular bonus - we purchased some baking to take home as well. The coffee was good and the staff friendly. It stays open until 6pm on Sundays and is clearly popular - a gem of a place.

Four of us tried the new evening opening -Spent more on drink than food at £17+for a bottle of wine although one of the ladies asked at the table for the house wine which was listed at £13. Most disappointing was the food which was a surprise as the daytime cakes and snacks are good. My bruschetta was topped with only dry tomato, cut into lumps and smoked salmon dropped on top. Surely a bruschetta should have some oils, garlic etc and not simply lonely tomato pieces. Also, the pate was served with 3 oatcakes no celery , grapes etc and no effort in presentation.

Popped in for lunch today around 1pm with my daughter. We were served quickly by the very friendly and attentive staff. We had a turkey roll and cheese pannini. Both were served with lovely fresh salad and crunchy crisps. The presentation was on a wooden board which was a lovely touch. Afterwards we shared a HUGE chocolate éclair which was absolutely delicious. This was our first visit here and we will definitely be returning. They had specials on that sounded lovely and had a soup and sandwich deal for £4.95 that looked good value. The burgers that other diners ordered looked fabulous so I will be having one of those next time and hopefully I will have space for one of the delicious looking strawberry tarts!!
