Fui con clientes a cenar, escogí el sitio por recomendación de unos amigos. Es comida vasca pero con un toque moderno. Yo me decanté por el bacalao y estaba delicioso, pero las carnes y pescados que tomaron los otros comensales tenían también un aspecto impresionante y por lo que decían estaban igualmente deliciosos. El personal es correcto y educado. El local está muy bien ubicado y es muy agradable, tal vez podría ser algo más luminoso. Relación calidad precio magnífica. Como sugerencia, deberían ampliar la variedad de vinos españoles que tienen.

El peor servicio que he tenido en un restaurante. Tener finalmente pedimos una botella de vino y 50 libras de agua brillante, salimos habiendo borrachos casi todos los vinos sin cartel de comida y a la izquierda el dinero sobre la mesa. El personal nos ignorando no entregar cualquier pan o cubo de hielo después de varias peticiones. Una camarera trajo más de un vaso de hielo en vez de un cubo diciendo que no era su culpa que debería ser y no funciona. Cinco chicas de detrás de la barra alto discutiendo. Vasos de ser trasladado. La mesa de al lado también se quejaban de que no tenía nada. Otra mesa tener que ir al bar y seguir preguntando donde estaban sus bebidas. Y finalmente no es un gran punto sé pero no para un restaurante con precios baratos una pequeña frágil servilleta de papel. Tiempo total invertido en el restaurante de 35 minutos, los números de clientes alrededor de 20 (alrededor de un quinto completo) y número de personal visible alrededor de 8. . . . . . . . . . Con la cantidad de dinero que ha invertido en el interior de ben y el alquiler y precios paga usted piensa que alguien hubiera sido capaz de capacitar al personal a un nivel adecuado?Interstingly, fuimos a la vuelta de la esquina a otro llamado "Getti restastaurant" que sabemos y el gerente dijo que no era la primera vez que había oído hablar de nuestra experiencia.

Un grupo de tres amigos y yo fuimos a norte, para el experimento de laboratorio de color, así como algunas bebidas y bocadillos, y la pasamos genial. La comida y las bebidas eran excelentes y todo el mundo que trabajaba allí era muy servicial y amable. El Experimento de color Lab fue lo más destacado y nuestra anfitriona Esther era una delicia total y realmente toda la noche perfecta para todo el mundo. Recomiendo encarecidamente y no puedo esperar a volver a probar más cosas en el menú.

Yo y mis compañeros de trabajo tenía un paquete reservado, que incluía una comida de dos platos en Norte seguido por una noche de comedia - Este restaurante fue el restaurante 'top' y nunca he estado tan horrible como este lugar.Nuestra mesa para 5 que había sido reservado no pudieron encontrar los datos. Luego ponen unas cuantas mesas y nos colocó fuera de su inodoro. El menú de arranque fue una selección de pan de ajo, o pan y tomates y había 3 opciones para los platos principales - no hay opción vegetariana.El pan de ajo pan de ajo no era, era un rancio baguette cortada - no mantequilla, aceite, vinagre balsámico, que ofrecieron a lo solicitado y no llevar hasta los platos principales fueron entregados. Pedimos agua 3 veces, no había agua dada. Los platos principales eran pequeñas porciones y frío. Nos dieron la 'cortesía' vino, que era cálida y barato, pero ni una sola vez nos preguntó si nos gustaría otra bebida - no una vez preguntar si nos gustaría nada más. Se equivocaron muchas posibilidades de venta ya que hasta estaban dispuestos a pasar algún tiempo allí y gastar más de lo que ya ha sido pagado. Aceitunas, vino, postres, etc. Más hubiera sido fantástico.La camarera era increíblemente grosero. Salías a mitad de camino a través de una pregunta. Las peticiones de nosotros. ignorado Se sentía como que no podía esperar para salir, ya que no nos 'pagar' clientes - el restaurante para disfrutar de una noche de viernes en el centro de Londres era extremadamente vacía, pero los que estaban allí, la comida parecía comida y la nuestra parecía restos de basura.Y la peor parte? Cuando nos fuimos, dos el personal vino nos persiguen por la carretera en frente de un montón de gente diciendo que no había pagado, aunque nos habían dado la 'pre pagado menú Theatre'. Visité Norte por segunda vez esta semana y que fue una vez más muy impresionados con la calidad de la comida y el servicio. Los ingredientes utilizados en todos los platos eran de una calidad excepcional, especialmente la leche, el bebé alimentado por cordero (originario de Galicia chuleton) y el conejo frito con miel. Yo diría que los precios reflejan la calidad de los ingredientes que brille a través de dar realmente una auténtica experiencia española. El servicio era atento sin ser entrometido. Yo estaba un poco sorprendido de que el restaurante no estaba más lleno pero me atrevo a decir que una vez que se extiendan alrededor de la comida que se ofrece aquí, se convertirá en un destino para aquellos que buscan el verdadero.

Dos para el almuerzo tarde después de tiendas cerca. Nos alegramos de tomar las dos últimas - exterior pero aún en la sombra.Camarera tomó nuestra orden de bebidas rápidamente, pero fue un poco de esperar recibir.El menú es principalmente pequeñas placas con algunas selecciones de tamaño. Plato principal: Pedimos un tamaño más pequeño (300 g? Plato de bistec de solomillo y) añadido el de Patatas Riojanas (un plato de patatas).Ordenamos una Riserva el Tempranillo, y fue increíble con la carne y, en particular, la de patatas. Fue una combinación muy armoniosa y no tuvimos ningún problema de acabado.Resulta que el solomillo con patatas fritas, vino pero el housemade Patatas eran el camino a seguir.En general, una experiencia muy buena.Recomendado.

El local precioso, muy moderno con música de fondo y gran capacidad. Gran atención por parte del gerente, nos acompañó a la mesa y dejo las cartas. La comida bien, las croquetas muy buenas, de jamón de verdad no como otras que solo tienen un ligero sabor, ahí hay que felicitarles. El pollo a la brasa buenísimo, muy arriesgada la salsa con miel y toque picante pero todo un acierto y la guarnición muy buena también. El secreto, escaso, pero muy bueno también. Quizá el punto más flojo el cheesecake, bueno de sabor pero con textura granulada ¿?. Respecto al servicio, siento decir que deja bastante que desear, en primer lugar, y viendo cómo funciona Londres, es raro que no haya una persona permanentemente en la terraza y que se encargue de ella, en segundo lugar, creo que no puede haber camareros multifuncionales, porque al final algo se queda sin atender: en varias ocasiones estaban todos en Cocina y la sala desatendida, además no puedes estar en barra y servir a la vez, porque el resto de personal ha desaparecido, gran error para la gran profesionalidad y atención que hay en Londres. Por ejemplo, si tienes unos platos en la mesa, cuando traigas los principales, llévate los sucios; cuando se acabe la cerveza estate atento para ofrecer otra, y cuando entregues la carta de postres, indica si no te queda de alguno... una pena con un local tan bonito, en tan buena ubicación, y el restaurante vacío... insisto que nada que objetar sobre la comida, pero si sobre el servicio. Un detalle que he observado, a una pareja se le ofrece un vino, y antes de probarlo se abre en barra... lo correcto sería presentar la botella y abrirla en la mesa, para que lo prueben... solo consejos.

I went for dinner with two Dutch friends, as I wanted them to try Basque food. Unfortunately, the service was worse than terrible. It took over 20 minutes for a waitress to bring the menu and 20 more to bring the wine, after we asked for it three times.When we finally ordered, we were told by the waitress that she had to check if the had ran out of the meat we wanted. After we had finished the starters and the wine, we still had no news about the meat, so we assumed there was no problem. However, after 10 minutes we asked the waitress to make sure and she told us she had forgotten! She came back saying there was no meat left (at 8 pm), so we ordered something different. A few minutes later, they served the same meat we had ordered to the people sitting next to us, who had arrived later.At this point, after finishing the food, we decided to leave and asked for the bill. We waited and asked a second time. Waited some more. In the end we had to ask for the bill directly at the counter.Finally, I sent a respectful email to them a few days later. I haven't received any answer so far and it happened over two months ago. I definitelly won't go back.

I can say I've been here maybe 4 times, twice in a group and twice just for a relaxing pre-dinner in two so I decide to leave the review only after I really understand this place. First of all I m curious from where this name is coming but really, sounds good. The restaurant looks beautiful, really nice atmosphere nice and peaceful decor, honestly is perfect for a dinner. The food presentation is brilliant and don't worry the taste is even better. Many thanks to the chef which is doing a fantastic job I wish I could personally congratulate him as is really hard to do both "presentation" and "taste" in one. Hope people will understand that this place is about quality and not quantity and of course it is quite expensive but it deserve. Cocktails however if you order the same cocktail you'll get it with a different taste so basically depends who's doing your drink, you might be lucky and get the good one. The same story as few reviews bellow, when I've been here first time they run out of that type of wine that we had however the girl that serve us she offer us the one which was similar as taste but a bit more expensive for the same price which was very nice of her. By the way they really have a very good selection of wines. One thing which really made me feel uncomfortable is last Friday evening while we have visit this place for one of my friend birthday around 11 something pm while we have order one mor Espresso martini to the guy which he very kind said "absolutely, no problem" while he went to tell to the bartender she made such a weird face something like "com one man, seriously ?" I believe they were close to the time closing as after that the guy came and mention that we can place now the orders as later they will be closing the bar. Anyway that was just this time hopefully will come back.

I had recently the opportunity to come back to the new Bilbao Berria (Now called Norte by Bilbao Berria) and it was good to see how changes are coming.It was for business lunch. My customer is vegetarian but they perfectly attended all her needs because they have great selection of plates for vegetarians that it's very important today.They have a new team very friendly and professional who made our lunch working perfectly.I personally enjoyed part of the vegetarian dishes buy I also ordered a 650g piece of Txuleton that came with proper fried "panadera Style chips". I have to say for the first time in London I enjoyed a proper Spanish Torrija.

A lack of customers on a Saturday night should have rung alarm bells, but with the nice decor and good cocktails we decided to stick it out for dinner. A lack of any coherent service followed by stone cold txuleton Galician steak (which was £72 a portion), a freezing cold restaurant (they claimed not to have aircon but we dined with our coats on) and miraculously the first bottle of wine we ordered (their house wine) had run out, our second choice was their last bottle forcing our third bottle to be £12 more than our first bottle.They then proceeded to stack chairs on tables and turn the lights off to let us know they were closed. Yes, we were the last table in there but we were finishing off our £40 bottle of wine and it wasn't even 11.30pm yet. The Greek restaurant opposite was still heaving at this point. The bill was almost £400 for 4 of us. Three tapas to share, 2 large steaks to share, a salad and 3 bottles of wine, all different and each one more expensive than the last. We weren't even given the option of coffees as the kids running the place just wanted to go home. All this plus a blocked men's toilet and 12.5% service charge. It would have been chapter to have dinner in The Ivy. Embarrassing given I'm Spanish and we purposely chose somewhere Spanish to take our friends for dinner. We've been to the Bilbao Berria in Barcelona lots of times and love it, it certainly would have been cheaper to get a flight out to Barcelona for dinner. If you're looking for a good Spanish restaurant in the area I suggest you try Tapas Brindisa in Soho or Iberica in Great Portland Street instead.

We visited the restaurant while in London on business and Norte is a must.We were warmly welcomed by the Manager and escorted to our table. Our waiter introduced herself, took our drinks order and before we knew it we had the cocktails at the table.The restaurant décor is great and the vibe is awesome! We ordered a nice bottle wine, tried a few tapas and had a steak that was cooked perfectly. The staff was very friendly, they really make you feel as if you were in Spain.Impressive wine list, great service and excellent food. Definitely a place to come back

I went to the new Norte by Bilbao Berria at least 5 times in the last 2 months. I think this place is one of the best spanish places to eat and chill out in London. The food is typical from north of Spain covering areas such as Bilbao, Galicia o San Sebastian. The staff is 100% spanish and they did a fantastic job when I was there. I recommend this restaurant to everybody.

Slid in on a Thursday night and asked if it was ok to eat at a solo spot by the bar. Was given a bench slot just off the bar. Took quite a while for someone to serve me and it was not stellar. I was given the drinks menu and a a blank stare. I asked for a food menu and a little time to peruse.Eventually, I ordered a bottle of Verdejo. "A bottle??" Yes, a bottle please.It was difficult to assess how their new menu worked. Was it recommended to have several small plates? one small plate and a main?? Etc. Nobody helped to explain the menu or discuss specials, etc. That was the biggest disappointment. Other than that, it was good. The wine was nice and not too pricey. The salty pimentos were just the right appetizer. The boquerones (anchovies) were fresh and steeped in a gorgeous olive oil. My selection of salami was good too.One of my servers was very nice and said it was her first day. I note the last time I was here it was our server's first day too!I would go again, because I really like this Basque style tapas and the food was good. I recommend the staff be a little more proactive and engaged. Actually talk to the customer and show some interest in the food.

Wonderful to have a restaurant that serves such a great set menu at lunchtime at such a reasonable price. There are a choice of two, we always go with the £20 one as the portions are bigger! If however, you want to go A la carte, the selection is great. It's not everywhere in London that you can find a rabbit dish and at first we were apprehensive, but now, if we are going A La Carte, our first choice is always the rabbit and then the the full squid, grilled and with a delicious simple sauce. The wine list is expansive and good, wines are selected from the north of Spain, hence the name of the restaurant. There is also a selection called Norte Seleccion, which we like to try as these wines change regularly, and you never know what you will get! The owners, James and Susana have great palates so when they choose the wines, they are always good, well, to us they are! Que aproveche!

This restaurant and bar brings us pure joy !! We adore anything Spanish and this gem in the heart of St James makes us feel like we are back in Logrono, Rioja.If if you want to celebrate real authenticity with fun than this is your place.They have a super cool private room! We have used for high end entertaining!If you venture off more than the obvious tapas the steak has to be the best we have tasted! Fun drinks, amazing food, cant wait to return!

Restaurant looks quite nice, cool atmosphere. We had steak, from a groupon offer, it was nice and tasty as the side dishes. It was good value for money( avoid if paying normal price).But the service is a big let down i don know if its a kitchen problem or front of house...but we waited over an hour for our steak. I had to ask twice for a glass of wine. Nice place to go if you are just chilling out...but dont go if you are short of time.

Since my last visit the restaurant has changed its name and menu. Now Norte by Groupo Bilbao Berria, it has ceased to be a taps bar and doesn't seem to know what it is. A short and relatively uninteresting menu, tapas that are far too large, staff who seem confused and chaotic despite the place being near empty. We sent two dishes back as they were cold, replacements were much better. Nevertheless there was little to really enjoy. Avoid! So many much better Spanish restaurants in Central London.

Vinimos recomendados por unos amigos, a qué mala hora. Una mesa de 12, de los cuales 9 son clientes potenciales para mi empresa. Empezando por el servicio, solo digo que nos hemos tenido que servir los platos desde la cocina a la mesa porque la camarera no se dignaba ni a bajar a nuestra planta, además esperas de 10 minutos cada vez que pedíamos una bebida. Seguimos con la comida, UNA VERGÜENZA! Han sacado 8 platos del tirón, los otros 3 los han sacado a la media hora y uno se les ha olvidado!! Y no sólo eso, es que no han sacado ningún plato de carne al punto que habíamos pedido. Los cocineros increíbles, 4 personas mirando una nota y NO SE ACLARABAN!! Y qué decir del precio, pagas precio de estrella michelín para tener un servicio que no había visto ni en un Mc Donalds.Ha sido una auténtica vergüenza, me he tenido que disculpar con mis clientes en numerosas ocasiones.Lo han intentado arreglar con un 25% de descuento... Ha sido PENOSO y nos ha hecho quedar verdaderamente mal con la gente.

Had the Groupon deal which for us was 500gm steak between 2 with 2 sides and a glass of wine each for £39. The "deal" here is that the sides and the glass of wine are effectively free, but it is an expensive restaurant (not surprising given the area). Good points - steak was good - well cooked and full of flavour; extra bottle of wine we ordered - stunning and great value at (IIRC £34 - Street Wines Crianza); spuds - interesting.Bad points - service just odd - more training/thought needed?; portion size not huge; and we ordered some bread to mop up the meat juices and it took 15 mins to arrive and was fiendishly expensive - £3.50 for four slices of baguette - but served with exceptionally good olive oil, so almost worth it. Would I go back - probably not, if only because my partner seriously took against it

Booked this as a package to include comedy show.Took ages to find as it was advertised as Notre but the restaurant is actually called Anna.After our party of 9 had being seated it took at least 10 minutes to bring the drinks over. It was a 2 course meal.Eight of the starters were bought out(bread and olives & bread with tomatoes), the last starter was bought out after everyone else had finished along with eight main courses. The last main course was bought out after everyone else had finished.The restaurant wasn't busy so there was no excuse, the food was ok but will not be going back due to the service

Neben drei spanischen Lokalen gehört die Londoner Dependance zu respektabeln Vertretern spanischer Küche. Vor allem Spezialitäten wie Kaninchen zeigen das Können der Küche.Ein Essen dort ist auf jeden Fall kulinarisch lohnend.Das Getränkeangebot ist umfassend ( ! wer ihn nicht kennt sollte spanischen cidre meiden ).Die Bedienungen sind schnell und freundlich, aber manche sind sehr unsicher.Ein grosser Raum mit genügend Abstand der Tische bietet Ungestörtheit, bei gutem Wetter sitzt sich sehr angenehm auf der kleinen Terrasse draussen auf der Regent Street, mit ihrem interessanten Publikum.

Visited last night with my friend. Pre booked prior to visit. Cannot believe it took us half an hour to find a restaurant called Norte which had no mention whatsoever of that name outside or indeed inside. We had to walk in and ask directions to Norte to be toldYes it is confusing but this is it. The sign outside says Anna'sDownhill from here. In the Summer of 2016 my mother, an aunt and I went to Bilbao Berria for casual dinner. Personally, I have had few experiences of authentic Tapas Cuisine and therefore was excited to try new things. The decor was AMAZING and the service was POLITE and FRIENDLY. Between the three of us we ordered around 6 dishes including the squid and the steak. Although the squid was a bit too rubbery and was not easy to chew, the steak was PERFECT. The juices flowed out from each individual sliced piece and the dish even inspired me to go home and try to cook a medium steak as well as the one served here! (Unfortunately this was one of many dishes I have been unable to replicate.) Overall it was a fantastic experience and the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The steaks were certainly fresh and I recommend it highly.

I genuinely struggle to think of a worse meal that I've had in a restaurant than in Bilbao Berria.The place itself looks smart and chic and is on a good location at the bottom end of Regent's Street. There the positives end.We had a group meal booked. They crammed in 8 people onto tables that could just take six. One person in our group had simply been missed off entirely and could not eat with us. The service was ungracious and slow (3 hours exactly after arriving I left without desserts having been served). Special comment is reserved however for the food. It was dire. The starter consisted of platters of tomato bruschetta utterly covered in thick rock salt that made them nearly unbearable. A courgette salad was also brought out with one slither of courgette with tasteless greenery, again covered in thick rock salt. The final starter was meat on mashed potato which was stone cold. The restaurant had been notified of 5 vegetarians in advance. The option offered to them was fish (i.e. Non vegetarian). After discussion 4 hard pieces of asparagus each was served up to us, again covered in thick rock salt. A small bowl of potatoes and supermarket style prepared salad with no dressing at all was brought out around 45 minutes after the hard asparagus. As I mentioned I did not experience the desert because I left 3 hours after starting the meal, still hungry. Do NOT even consider coming here unless you eat meat (which you don't long cold) and fish. Do not come here if you object to "seasoning" which consists of crudely covering every dish they serve in rock salt. This was a disastrous meal. If you look at my several hundred reviews you will find I give out "terrible" ratings extremely rarely. I try to be as fair as possible. Bilbao Berria absolutely deserves this rating. 0/5.

Popped in by chance having seen it on our way to Soho for dinner. We never got to Soho and were very happy to have found this gem. Serving pintxos from the Basque region of Spain that tastes as good and authentic as any I have had outside Spain. The staff are mainly Spanish and their English isn't the best but this adds to the charm and authenticity of the place. The food selection isn't big, but everything we selected was perfectly presented and tasted gorgeous. Add the well priced but excellent wine list and you can't help but have a great night in this place. I have nothing bad to say about this place and I could easily become a regular customer.

Firstly, I've just read most of the feedback from other guests and there seems to be running themes in them all which I too experienced when I visited BB a few nights ago. The main issues were: 1. Couldn't find the venue but luckily we were early so not a huge issue.2. Language barrier between ourselves and the waiting staff. Btw, the staff were lovely. Very friendly but they couldn't understand everything I was saying. I was particularly annoyed by having to pay an extra £30 which I had not budgeted for. I had a Wowcher voucher which I explained several times to the staff. I specifically asked if the dishes we had chosen were from the a'la carte menu which was the menu included in my voucher. They answered yes but when the bill arrived I was told that one of the dishes was not on the a'la carte menu so had to pay extra. Being a regular restaurant goer you'd think I'd be able to tell which meal belongs on which menu but it wasn't clear at all partly because it's written in Spanish. 3. There were long delays between our drinks orders which I couldn't understand because the restaurant wasn't full and there were enough staff on duty to prevent this. 4. There was only 1 toilet on the ground floor which was unisex which I don't have a problem with but if you're going to allow men AND women to use the same toilet at least give us more than one. Also, and not big issue but very noticeable was the broken tap in the toilet. It almost came off in my hand which was just odd because it didn't reflect the rest of the venue which was beautiful. Despite the above, my friend and I really enjoyed the food and the décor is stunning but BB just has a few, easily rectified issues that need addressing to be a fantastic restaurant. Please BB can you get them sorted as I'd love to go back one day.

We had very high expectations for the restaurant but the visit ended up being a big disappointment. All the staff was friendly but they had no idea what they were doing and even worse, it seemed there was no one guiding them. As a foreign person I am really understanding with people struggling with their English but this time it was just awkward.. I think for both sides. The menus were handed as soon as we sat down but it took ages to get anyone to take our order and the drinks served. The restaurant was not even busy as there were more staff than customers at that time. The food came quickly despite the fact that two of the dishes we ordered were out of stock and we had to decide what to have instead. The food was amazing and we would have loved to have dessert but unfortunately no one came to clear our plates and offered it. As we were running out of time we just decided to call the waitress who was just walking around and doing nothing to get us the bill. For the first time in my life I was considering to ask the service charge to be removed but felt too sorry for the waiting staff as they were so lost.The venue itself is beautiful.

I have just left this restaurant with my husband after popping in for a pre theatre drink and light snack...My husband ordered a beer which was fine, I ordered a Cava Royale which I had to return because it was room temperature! I was then told to choose something else as all the cava was room temp - it's Friday night in a London restaurant/barI ordered an apple martini instead and some tomato bread and some olives...We had to return the olives as they were covered in rock salt - WHO ADDS SALT TO OLIVES??? Tomato bread was very doughy like one of those part baked Baguettes they sell wrapped in plastic in supermarkets.We returned the olives - still waiting for my apple martini at this point even though the place is quiet and there's about 13 staff!Get new olives without salt. My apple martini arrives and I can't possibly drink it, no trace of apple just harsh cheap alcohol burning my throat and bits of lime floating in it.I don't understand how this place can possibly function as a restaurant. Disgusted.

They are rationes as opposed to tapas, which means bigger plate, we were worried we hadn't ordered enough but it was plenty!Highly recommended

The first challenge is finding this place, as there are no signs outside bearing the restaurant's name. Once inside, the staff could not locate our reservation but this turned out not to be a problem even on a Friday night. Communication in English was challenging and the waitress could barely read the uninspiring specials from the board she was carrying. As we were waiting for our last guest to arrive, our waitress smashed a glass of red wine over the table 2 across from us. Unsure of what to do, the waitress relocated the diners to the table next to us whilst the cleanup was commenced. As we waited patiently we were not offered drinks and given 2 menus between 5 of us. When the waitress eventually returned to take our order, she spent a while fumbling around in her pocket to find a pen, but alas the order was taken. They did not have sparkling water as they ran out....well that was a new one for me. The drinks arrived in a random order, including possibly the world's smallest glass of white wine (but it was delicious). The red wine was poured for tasting, then 2 other glasses filled, then the bottle was plonked on the table without filling up the taster's glass, so we poured it ourselves. The first course arrived in a random order but we were fine with that along the lines of tapas style. All but one of the main courses arrived before the first course plates were cleared, so after a bit of plate swapping between us and the waitress we were all set...well, except for one person. By the time we had eaten the remaining main course did not arrive, despite assurances from the waitress that it was coming. They had clearly forgot and were covering up their error. Eventually our hungry diner took food from each of us and the remaining main course was cancelled. We then sat there waiting for someone to acknowledge that we had finished so that we could order desert, and alas the waitress came...to say "is everything OK", took 3 empty glasses from the table and disappeared never to be seen again. Fed up of waiting, we requested our coats and the bill. Only then did the staff attempt to clear our table which including scraping plates in front of us, the highlight being when one grabbed a fish head with her hands to put it on another plate. We paid the bill and left swiftly. So far this is the one and only time that I have refused to pay the service charge in any restaurant. The only redeeming feature is the beautiful decor, and the food was tasty, especially if you like salt. The manager apologised sincerely and deducted money from our bill which was appreciated, but really there is no excuse for such abysmal service.

My friends & I went to Bilbao Berria to celebrate my birthday.I'd come across the restaurant in an Evening Standard write up on the best restaurants in the Piccadilly-St James area.First off, the restaurant lacked a lacked a sign out front making it difficult to find. We went around the block twice trying to find the entrance which is next to a Pret A Manger. I'm no PR expert but surely if customers can only locate you due to proximity to a sandwich chain + lack of signage, it's not going to build your brand?Nevertheless we got there and ordered drinks, starters & main courses. However the lack of attention to the basics & a lackadaisical attitude to service became increasingly evident as seen by:1) Running out of sparkling water (no stock taking process in place?)2) Drinks orders not being taken early & then arriving at the same time as starters 3) Inordinately long time between dishes being delivered to the table 4) One main course being so delayed that we cancelled it having run out of patience (we gave our friend who'd been waiting some of our dishes)5) Staff handling leftover food in front of us while clearing the plates (gross)All of the above could easily been avoided because the food was very good as were the cocktails & wine. While the manager did apologise & give us a discount on the bill, our evening as you can imagine was a disappointment.Bilbao Berria has very good food but it has to get all the basics right, namely service.

We went to see an exhibition at the National Gallery so BB was convenient from there. The waitresses were nice but a bit of communication problem, we asked for olive oil and we had green olives, we asked for no cream on artichokes and we had no jamon instead, we asked for a business card to see the address for the cab and we got our coats. So communication can improve. As far as food it depends what you order. The Polpo was very tasty (reccomended) so were the broad beans with jamon, the calamar a la plancia were ok (but they do not taste much in general anyway) so the artichokes. We did not have desserts. Wine list is good.Nice decor but unfortunately not much atmosphere for some reasons.

This is a great pre-theatre dining choice when you are attending a show near Piccadilly Circus. Spanish tapas so something for everyone. Excellent bar including Spanish Riojas and sherries. We had a delicious meal of various small plates in a quiet setting served in less than an hour. It is an easy walk back to the chaos of Piccadilly.

Bilbao mi aveva entusiasmato (voto 5) mentre qui molte cose han lasciato a desiderare. Innanzitutto il servizio è di una lentezza incredibile. Poi mi ha dato moltissimo fastidio che a fronte di prezzi molto ragionevoli mi sia trovato a spendere più di bere e servizio che di quello che avevo mangiato; ho ordinato due calici di vino, mi hanno detto verbalmente che potevo scegliere tra Tempranillo e Rioja visto che non avevo una carta, e mi sono trovato 18£ per due bicchieri microscopici. Inoltre il servizio al 12,5% non era scritto da nessuna parte (tra l'altro per un servizio assai mediocre).Do un voto 3 per non stroncare e per la simpatia del locale Spagnolo. In effetti poteva essere anche meno.Ma forza, ci vuole poco per migliorare; partite da un'ottima cucina (buonissimi i pimientos del padron e las gambas a l'ajillo, un po' meno il secreto iberico, un po' troppo cotto)

I was having dinner in February with my boyfriend. We are both from the north of Spain so we were looking forward to it.The location is superb, I guess that is the reason they charge so much for average food. We had a portion of "bravas" to share, then I had hake with a mushrooms sauce (it was overcooked) and my boyfriend had rib eye. "Chocolate with churros" as dessert. We paid around 80 pounds for that dinner including a glass of wine and a beer. We knew it was gonna be expensive but we were expecting a better quality. Service was OK. It was not a disaster but I would not recommend it.

Stopped off for lunch one day on our way back to our hotel. We asked for some help with the menu and got great recommendations from the team and when it arrived it surpassed our expectations. We only wanted 200g as this was around £8/100g.The waitress told us that they didn't have the option on the menu, so suggested rib-eye. Unfortunately she didn't tell us the price. As has always been my experience, the food was excellent - well-presented and tasty - but even on a relatively busy evening the upstairs area lacked a little ambience, not helped by being positioned next to 3 businessmen discussing their obviously very important day in loud voices. We moved. The background music - hardly authentic Spanish! - also detracted from the overall ambience. The service was very pleasant but typically Mediterranean in pace and attentiveness. I had mentioned in my booking comments that I was celebrating a friends birthday and that I was looking to make the evening special. I came in weighed down with presents which were opened at the table but no additional effort was apparent, which was a bit disappointing. The wine selection now appears more limited. - certainly the impressive displays around the walls has diminished - and while the bottle of Rioja we selected was good, the 400% mark up looked a bit steep even for London. Overall, I think the message is that this is a fabulous restaurant - the design and decor are stunning - but they need to work harder at making the dining experience just that bit more special and authentic.

Estaba todo bueno, si, pero puedes comer igual en cualquier sitio en España..De segundo pedi secreto iberico. Este si, estaba realmente bueno y disfrute muchisimoEl sitio tiene mucho potencial, pero le falta bastante para ser un "must" y el precio no ayuda.Recomiendo probarlo.

Petit défaut c'est bruyant.Côté nourriture, les croquettas étaient top. Les asperges rôties savoureuses. La pièce de bœuf un peu ferme sur un côté. Et le poisson au txakoli, très bon. The food here is delicious. It is well prepared and arrives at the right pace to allow you to meander through your choice of tapas. You don't feel rushed, but you don't feel you are waiting. A very good wine list complements the food. The waiting staff were attentive, but the welcome from the front of house staff was very poor. We were almost made to feel that our arrival was an irritation and perhaps surprisingly given the atmosphere it otherwise does very well to create, we were not offered anywhere to hang our coats. On a reasonably cool evening, we both had quite thick coats which, in fairness, we were able to drape over the chairs of the neighbouring table which was unoccupied throughout. You won't be disappointed by the food and once you are seated, the service is great. But given the prices which are charged, the welcome really needs to be improved.

My wife and I visited on a Saturday evening. We encountered service that was below what we would expect in McDonalds. The order was mixed up and then served up without any discernible care. We were told rather mater of factly that if we wanted to wait another 30 min we could get the paella we had ordered. We declined. The other main course we were told was not available.Mix ups happen but the restaurant manageress seemed not to care or to be trained in how to resolve the situation. She was happy enough for us to leave the restaurant without any main courses - and offered nothing off the bill beyond the woeful service charge.We will not be returning and recommending others spend their time and cash elsewhere. We went with a large group (15 people), the staff were really friendly, the lady who served us was lovely however I must say they were understaffed which meant grabbing our own menus, serving our own drinks, asking for service numerous times. The food was delicious, plenty of choice. Would go again perhaps outside peak times!

An excellent Spanish restaurant not far off Pall Mall from the Institute of Directors. The Jamon Iberico is fabulous as are the assorted Tapas. The mains are somewhat limited to paella, fish or char grilled steaks. Really enjoyed the marinated cod with hazlenut crust & piquillo peppers. Service was good and attentive without being intrusive. Prices quite reasonable for London and the standard of food. Need to book.

Great venue on the South Regents street. Better than last time, service was attentive from a young Spanish lady from Bilbao and the food was great. Had a great bottle of Godello with it that was very reasonably priced to. This is definitely worth a visit if you like all things Spanish.

地下のレストランスペースで食事しました。おつまみ系何品か(ハムのクリームコロッケが特に美味しかった)と、メインになるようなお魚とお肉のお皿も頼みましたがこれらは普通で、どちらかというとやはりタパス(ビルバオだからピンチョスと呼ぶべきなのか?)の方が良い印象です。希望を述べてウェイターが選んでくれた赤ワインが美味しかったです。2人で訪れましたが、大人数でわいわいやるほうが楽しい雰囲気の店かなと思います。上の階のバースペースを試してみたいです。

Booked a table 2 weeks in advance to have dinner on Valentine´s night with ny GF, and when we poped in, they missed our booking, was booked up, and we had to leave and find a restaurant on that night... They didn´t give us any answer, any reason, and the way theY treated us was very unrespectfull. NOT RECOMMENDED!

We visited here at the weekend. A table of four tasted probably eight dishes. Some, especially the octopus, were very good indeed. Others were pretty bland, certainly the fish tapas were better than the meats. It is a very good restaurant for an evening with friends, and plenty of Duero. If you want first class food, you have better options.

Not a lot more to say, just avoid this restaurant. Very expensive for an average/low quality food. Jamon was good but all the other tapas weren't. Octopus was just tasting like garlic, paella was burnt and seafood not fresh and tasteless. Small portions and quite pricey, ie. 3 slices of bread for 2£. Mango cheesecake was again tasteless. Spent 97£ per person for 4 tapas, a cheesecake and 2 bottles of water. I'm not bothered about money, but more about quality and taste, this was really disappointing. Maybe they recently changed the chef because I was told this was a good restaurant.

I came here for a staff Christmas party and it was fantastic. The service was unbelievable the wine was alway topped up no waiting required. Food was also lovely. Great evening out in this lovely restaurant

I have been in Bilbao Berria last Saturday with my family and friends. We have a big table in the upperside. The food was quite fine; i found it quite spanish to be honest. Very nice octupus with paprika and a spectacular chocolate fondant. The ambient and decoration is just wonderful!About the service, we have a very helpful waitress and the manager, Natalia, came over to the table a couple of times to make sure that everything was going good and to recommend a nice bottle of wine.It wasn't exremely cheap but Picadilly Circus in london it shouldn't anyway :)

I ordered a meal from them asking to please not put in the usual huge chunks of onions Chinese take away seem to love dishing out. Totally disregarded my request . The noodles and rice tasted really odd and the sweet and sour chicken had the strongest taste of vinegar ! All gone in the bin no one will eat it it’s horrible a waste of food and money ! Seriously don’t waste your money look around this is not worth it you will only be disappointed
