Big Wok in Aberdeen City

The Food and Service at Big Wok are 2nd to none. The chicken&cheese spring rolls are better than heroin and I regularly dream about them. I would eat Big Wok’s chicken&cheese spring rolls for every meal for the rest of my life if I could. The staff are very nice and I would invite them to my birthday party however it is not my birthday and I don’t think they would want to come…unless? Easily the best chinese takeaway in all the land. Read some of these bad reviews but had total opposite experience. Fast delivery and great hot food. There was one mistake made with first order but once phoned up they rectified straight away and was exellect customer service. Will definitely order again.

2 nd year we've had Chinese on Xmas day was ready for us to pick up at time we asked food as usual was amazing and plenty of it thank you to your staff...

This restaurant is the worst experience I had while ordering food ! Horrible rude staff on the phone ! I’m so disappointed as ordered from them for many years at old adress and no problem , today was my second order in my new house and they mistakenly given wrong order when I called them back a member explained the situation politely the staff was very rude arguing shouting! Now I know today was my last time ordering from that place and I will make sure that people around knows how bad service they provide ! Don’t recommend!

Do not order from this place. Food was 1.5 hours to come and then the order was missing an item. When I called to ask for a refund and replacement item I was argued with by the person on the phone and told to phone the number on the website for a refund which clearly states its only for use if you CANT get hold of the restaurant. Could hear the chef and the woman on the phone yelling at each other also.

Love their food, Special Chow Mein in Bird Nest and smoked chicken are my favourite. Tried their Thai curry tonight, it is lovely as well. Highly recommended!

Chips over cooked or re heated.. Chicken satay congealed!.. Obviously a heated up job!!.. Only went because it was handy but won't be back!!

Decent Chinese near city centre Aberdeen just up George Street. Please note: their website prices are inflated to trick you into thinking getting 10% off when you spend £15 is a deal, ordering from the store itself or from foodhub gives you slightly cheaper overall prices.

I have never been more sick after a meal. I was fine before but WOW definitely not after. Once bitten.....

ordered food and was completely wrong. phoned up to correct order and lady was argumentative about this saying this wasn’t her fault. £50 of food wasted. would recommend if you want to get spoken to like crap

I don't recommend....I expected a richer box... I have ordered from other restaurants but this has never happened to me... The driver came late and the food was cold... Chicken balls were raw inside... and no chips either there was nothing...just onions and chives.....I have no words 👎

I could not believe it when I was told my order would be ready in 3 minutes so my jaw dropped when it was ready in 3 minutes. Food is great especially the chicken prawn fried rice and the prawn mushroom soup. I also got a complimentary prawn crackers. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Just for takeaway no eating in. No toilet and parking is along the road. A great place to order a treat or surprise dinner for yourself when you crave a taste of Chinese.

I Ordered take away the food was spoiled smell, I asked my husband to check the food is spoiled or not ! he said it is a smell of sauces in the noodles , so that might be the reason. And He convinced me how come they sell a spoiled food ?I believed it and got food poisoning right after eating it was taken two weeks to settle. Never again here.

I love this takeaway. Salt and pepper chicken is not too salty, exactly how I wanted it. Fried noodles full of vegetables - heaven. Customer service is very polite. I definitely will be back

Sorry would do -1 star if I could. First as someone who is single I have to order more food then I need and if that is satay sous then honestly I'm santa.

I was threatened and abused for asking to speak to the owner. They told me they didn't know his number. I was sworn at multiple times. And laughed at. This is the only Chinese takeaway I order from. I have never had an issue till this time. I'm contacting an ombudsman to deal with them. Service minus 10. Food has always been top notch until my last order. I have never been treated like this by any takeaway. Hung up on, laughed at and sworn at by multiple members of staff. I'm truly disappointed

An order was placed for delivery by 19:55 through Just Eat which you accepted. App says it was delivered at 19:55, it was not. The driver turned up at 23:15 saying he only got the order 10 mins ago! Had been trying to contact you from 21:30 onwards but couldn't get through. I fully understand that things are busy and waiting times may be longer for delivery but this is ridiculous. Not one phone call to advise of delay. This was supposed to be a birthday treat for my 11yr old. To say I am disappointed would be an understatement. Would never order from here again.

I just ordered a order online tonight I paid by card and over a hour and a half later my goods still not here .

Pretty much as it reads above. The order was wrong, I was overcharged and a refund was refused when I went in to politely complain. Last time I go here.

The food was stinking crispy pancake rolls haha more like soggy rolls and very cold rice worst place ever will not be ordering again and when I called to day the did not care 😡😡

Never a disappointment at this place. Food arrived quickly, was PIPING hot, and delicious as usual. My portion of sesame chicken will do 3 meals for me, it was so big. Definitely reccomend :). PS you also get a 10% discount if you order on their website!

Normally order from here and have no problem but today our order was supposed to be here at 25 past 10 and it’s only just got here at 23:11 they supposedly tried to contact us because they couldn’t find the address when we’ve ordered multiple times before and then had the cheek to ask for double the delivery

Terrible!! Ordered curry with no vegetables, got home to find it full of vegetables. Phoned in and they refused to send out what I wanted made me walk all the way back to change it. Got home the second time opened it and they hadn't even bothered to make the curry properly. Tub of curry flavoured water I got!! Unbelievable! Straight in the bin!! Waste of two trips, waste of money and then couldn't even eat it!!! Worst Chinese in Aberdeen!

Ordered a set meal for two. Huge portions and plenty for a third person. Tasted good and will order from again. Only criticism is that they called me three times via telephone from me placing my order online to collecting to clarify information. Not sure where the confusion was....

Loved the noodle and pasta chinese food.

All the food was below average especially the duck there was and unbeleibale amount of fat and the honey chilli chicken was very poor quality couldmt taste any spice.I would not recommend and I'm not going to return. 1 star from me

I ordered a dry chowmain and it really was not to my test at all. That is why only 2 stars it could have been the wrong dish for me.

Order was 1 hour and 3omins late. Food was cold and got two of our items wrong.When we compliant wasnt happy to gave us service we should have ha used to order from them all time but never again shocking service please dont order greedy company if ur order wrong not happy to change it.

I placed my order and was derived very fast..but not impressed at all chicken chowmein was 4 small bits of chicken few bits of onion and loads of noodles the king pawn curry had 4 prawns loads of onion loads of sauce..Not impressed fried rice was normal charged£15 a big rip off first time trying this place won't be back their again!!!

ordered via scoffable as a menu came through the door and the food arrived in 40mins. 2 items of 6 were missing and the driver said he could do nothing, he only the driver i would have to phone, so i did to get sorry sorry sorry but they couldnt find the order, i then quoted scoffable order number SCOFF-1536561 they still could not find the order, 30 mins on the phone lots of that on hold i drove to the shop, took me 10 mins and the staff are speaking to friends while i am still on hold, i demanded my cash back which was not forthcoming until i threatened to get the police.FIRST AND LAST TIME I WILL EVER USE AND IF YOU GOT ANY SENSE YOU WILL AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Food was fantastic.Got a takeaway,. I enjoyed all of the order. I would highly recommend this restaurant! Now sitting stuffed watching TV and trying not to "graze" on the left overs. Great value for the money!

My go to chinese when i'm craving a takeaway. Delivery service is always very good and the food is great, reasonably priced. Fully recommend the honey chilli chips they are my favourite :-)

This is our go to Chinese! always place the order on Friday nights around 7-8pm and always arrives within half an hour! excellent delivery service as well as the food! always order a bunch of different things but they never fail to disappoint with the chicken satay skewers! absolutely swimming in satay sauce and huge pieces of chicken on them too! (we have had tiny btis of chicken from other chineses) never had a bad meal from them and we have ordered every Friday night for the past 4 months! (and we are still not fat yet!) look forward to ordering the next one this Friday! anyone who has had a bad service from Big wok CLEARLY doesn't appreciate fine food. also brilliant value for money! never spend more than £30 for 2 of us (this includes lunch the next day!!)

Used to get Chinese from here all the time as my sister lives nearby, haven't for years but when I decided to try it again the first thing I noticed was the prices were much higher and the menu was confusing, prompting me to rethink my menu choices. We had crispy seaweed, duck and pancakes, chicken and sweetcorn soup, chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce, the duck and pancakes were nice, as was the soup, but the chicken balls were like crappy chicken nuggets, I do not think they were fresh, the sauce was nice to me but I like vinegar, it was very vinegary, the chips were obviously reheated at least once if not twice, practically indigestible, and the seaweed, oh my goodness the seaweed, should I say saltweed? It was totally inedible, if you took a tank of real seaweed and ten litres of water and let it dry it could not be this salty, I love every Chinese crispy seaweed I've ever tried before and I like more salt than most people but this was inedible, I ground up a little as a seasoning for the soup and chips, the rest had to go in the bin because it had so much salt you could have put it in a jar as seaweed flavoured salt, the bottom of the container was thickly covered with salt and it tasted of nothing but.

Food was cold when delivered and was horrid Better places to eat are available and plenty of restaurants if your eating out , Night life is good and plenty of things to do throughout the day

Been going to this takeaway for nearly 13 years. Ordered a takeaway last night 02/08/2016, order included Honey chilli chicken, Plain Chow Mein, Chicken with Mushroom, Fried Rice, Quarter Crispy Aromatic Duck & Prawn Crackers totalling £26.30. When I received the order my partner and I shared the duck which was lovely, I then played up my main which was the Honey chilli chicken with the plain chow Mein I ate one bit of chicken and the started to eat another when I bit into something of an odd crunchy texture between the batter and the chicken (To note due to the sauce the batter is normally quite moist not crunchy) combined with an odd and disgusting taste, it put me clean off the food so I contacted the Chinese to request a refund as I simply did not want to eat anymore the refund requested was only for the honey chilli chicken and the plain chow Mein as my partner thought her food was fine. They refused a refund and further more were very aggressive over the phone even threatening me - which was reported to the Police accordingly. I began boxing up the food to chuck it in the bin when I noticed an insect or bug in the sauce of the honey chilli chicken. I promptly contacted the Food Standards Agency and was sick shortly after. I found it interesting that this takeaway has no history on the FSA website yet all takeaways and restaurants in Britain should have the rating there. I would recommend you dodge this takeaway like the Black Plague as it has obviously gone downhill a lot since the last time I ordered from them a little over 3 months ago.

Ribs and squid starters were good, sweet and sour chicken was decent, Japanese curry was not good - first time ordering from here so I didn't know what to expect but it wasn't this. I will give them another try though.

The quality of the food is amazing huge portions needed to wait 1hr for it to arrive it was okay not great but I probably won't be ordering again spent £30 for me and my family and wish I didn't spend as much cause it didn't really satisfie me still heaps of food left and didn't finish what was on my plate

The ribs are tiny fatty things swimming in sauce (which was also unimpressive), the spring rolls are huge and something in them (I can;t tell if it's the seasoning or the veg) tastes off, and the won tons have a horrible foamy texture, I have no idea what's in them but it's certainly not pleasant. Will be getting my money back and it's unlikely I'll order from them again.

Always lovely food but not happy that all you get is free prawn crackers now . instead of like of free ribs n chicken fried rice wen you order is over £15 and £20....nae happy
