Lovely friendly staff, nice drinks, good location

Called in for a drink to get out of the rain. We were served by Ben who was friendly and helpful. I asked for a whisky of his choice and he was very knowledgable and gave me a “The Balvenie”which was really nice. We didn’t eat but the food that was coming it looked really good.

3 bars, live music, mix of all generations, the kind of pub that is really missing in France. Few seats on the other hand and quite crowded on Saturday.

All in all a great pub… sadly we had to leave suddenly because during our stay a reservation got in and they chose our table for it… we had to leave earlier than expected… not very friendly

Really very nice, authentic pub. But there was a very strong smell of urine at the back. Nobody could sit there anymore.

They close the kitchen too early

Did the whiskey tasting whilst on a stag. I’m not big on whiskey but Russell and Connor were unreal hosts. Even let us have a taste of the Oban which wasn’t part of the set. Actually really interesting learning about the whiskey and they both had great banter with the lads.

I had a good time there, music & food & beer right in the heart of Grassmarket!

Food was overpriced, very long waiting time for soup and sandwich. Soup was microwaved bowl was hot soup was cold in the middle. Probably would return but only for drinks in the nice area it is.

Me and my partner came in for some nibbles and a drink before dinner. The small plate came out really quick, and there was some live music on tonight (Thursday) which was a nice little bonus. Would come back again for a drink for the vibes

Cool pub on the Grassmarket. We didn't eat anything (but it looked good), but drank something twice. Prices are fair for drinks... and since my son isn't 18, you have to be happy that you get something. Like almost everywhere, you have to order at the counter and pay straight away.

5 stars especially for the atmosphere and live music. Wonderful evening. We ate some not bad burgers and fish and chips but I think you mainly come for the atmosphere 😊😊😊I recommend.

Decent sized pub which was extremely busy when I went in yesterday afternoon. Got served quickly by a very attentive and skilled bar person who seemed to be serving 3 people at the same time! Lots of TV's in there that were showing various footy matches. Next time I'm up in Edinburgh I'll go here in the night time to fully experience the atmosphere here.

Very good lunch here, the menu proposes interesting meals I really appreciated my stew and the sticky tuffy pudding !

Πηγαμε ανημερα Χριστουγεννων.Παρολο που βρηκαμε τραπεζι να κατσουμε δν μας σερβιραν φαγητο γιατι ειπαν οτι η κουζινα λειτουργει μονο για οσους εχουν κανει κρατηση.

Absolute stunning place, would have been there all night but the staff brought the place down a little. Such a stunning lively bar, they need to be more upbeat.

Went in to watch the Newcastle game and the atmosphere was that good we stayed all night. Had dinner at half time and the Xmas burger was amasing. Service was great all night and the live music had the place dancing

Cracking pub - hadn't been for years. Booked for an Xmas work do - we had a prepaid tab for a big table. Was mega busy but the poor bar tender that kept having to serve us was patient and kind (we were drunk and it was loud!). Thanks Ross for the great service.

I am just coming back from this place where I have been with two colleagues. We had a very unpleasent experience. I went with my colleague to the bar to order. When we arrived at the bar we were bascially alone but then more people arrived at the bar and they were all served before us. Finally, I could order some food and beer, my colleague ordered after me. Then the third of us went to the bar and ordered as well. While the first and third food order were brought, the second order was not arriving, When we finally asked we were told the kitchen had already closed. That is just unacceptable. If they take an order and get paid they have to serve, no matter what the conditions are. This is an absolute no-go.

I will not send you an email, but I will respond to you directly here. We came twice, the first time for coffee and mineral water (we also intended to eat). Mineral water or glass, impossible to know which of the two gave off a very unpleasant odor. Unable to finish the coffee and mineral water, so we left. Not wanting to be left with a bad impression, we came back in the evening for a Whiskey. There we had to be very patient to be served at the bar, the floor is sticky, and the back of the bar is not very clean. As for the waiter's advice for my choice of whiskey, it was non-existent. We therefore did not enjoy our experience in your establishment

Just left and I couldn't be happier with Ben. My autistic girl broke a glass and was mortified and upset. Ben spoke to her and made her feel at ease, what an inspiration that man is. Food was amazing too.

Typisch schottisches Ambiente. Super für ein paar Drinks. Bei uns gabs Live-Musik, das war super!

Pub typique écossais qui propose de très bonnes bières et de la musique live. Attention, la cuisine ferme très tôt (avant 19h). Très belle ambiance, service très sympa.

Bar staff rude only spirits and bottles to buy as nothing on draught left people standing outside of doors smoking which is clearly a fire risk as doors were blocked 1 bouncer in particular is nothing but a bully who abuses his position to get away with man handling people supposed to diffuse situations but only escalates them makes situations worse would never go back to the bar would avoid at all costs

Worst experience ever we paid for a table to watch the rugby World Cup last night and they didn’t put the sound on and there were people that paid to watch it there and then I found out cause Scotland was not playing that is why they didn’t put the sound on so not impressed here is a warning to anyone who wants to watch any sport don’t go to this bar cause you will be disappointed

Brilliant night out for our work at Biddy's last Friday. Sat in the Wee Pub which was a great spot for us to move round and catch up. Really well looked after by the bar staff and will be back SOON! Cheers guys

Great atmosphere, came in as they were showing the rugby, it was very busy as it was a Saturday but the staff were on the ball, friendly and fast, the service was great!! Tried the vegan burger and it was delicious, my friend had the poutine tots and said it was good too. Will definitely be back

Was in Biddy’s last month and it was so good we had to come back. We were served by Ben this time at the bar who was brilliant. Our favourite spot to come when we’re in Edinburgh now.
