Honest and tasty food with good service.

A good place to have the typical beach fish & chips, it was quite big.

A very good option for food and beer. Portions are very large. The food was very delicious.

Very good meal, good welcome, well placed. The dish was adapted for an allergy, which is appreciated.

Hidden gem that does not fleece you like most Edinburgh eateries. Highly recommend the spicy burger. Friendly staff and large selection of hot and cold drinks

A good place to come in for a while, grab something to eat or drink and then leave. The stuff are friendly and nice view on the street.

The food is ok at an affordable price, the staff is friendly. As a minus, I don't understand why when a person comes to take your order, why not only that person serves you until the end and every time the person who serves you changes proof that the food was ok is this picture

Best fish and chips we’ve had in years ! We both got a large well cooked portion of fish, with tasty crisp chips and peas and a pot of tartar sauce to compliment it all and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Hubby’s beer was ice cold and my pot of tea very hot, it doesn’t get any better than this place !

Maten smakte grei, ikke noe ekstraordinær men vanlig smak. Fish and chips var våt og virket som mye av maten er laget på forhånd. Det tok ikke lang tid å få maten, så det er både positivt som negativt. Ellers ganske dyrt for det man får.

Think the chef had a hangover when we visited. Overcooked, dry chicken, undercooked hard veg and very small portions. Can't say I'll be back anytime.... Ever? Gf options are weird too... Burger with no chips, bun or sauce 😐

Remember when places did really good nachos?! This place is it! Highly recommend. The ratio of nachos to cheese, salsa, guacamole and chicken was perfect. Made with actual cheese. The best thing about Biblos is the staff, very friendly and accommodating. If you are looking for good service, good food and an atmosphere that means you can actually talk to the people you're with... This is the place! Thank you very much ☺️

Fish and chips were good. Huge portion of fish made up for the shan portion of chips. Service is typical of Scotland.

Out with friends on Friday and what I experienced was nothing short of disgusting. Spent £50+ on drink for my friend to be told he wasn’t allowed back in after having a glass of wine he bought at the bar, which was his first drink! Bouncer then spoke to him and our party in a horrible manner and with no respect. 2023 and a bouncer displaying homophobia is absolutely unacceptable Lovely establishment but needing a serious restaffing on their bouncing department. Not happy and will not be returning! Not to mention 0 refund for the drink.

Spent all day at working and was looking forward to meeting friends when my friend went out to have a cigarette after only being there for 20 minutes and were completely sober refused to re enter due to “having to much to drink” and the bouncer had told us to take a seat when we got there so had clearly seen that everyone was fine to enter the establishment.

I was one of the staff members on Friday. There was a misunderstanding with the bouncer and the boy named in all these reviews. The bouncer herself is queer and so are several staff members. Nothing to do with homophobia. The boy was joking with his friend outside and she thought he was drunk. I was in the midst of speaking to the bouncer so we could let him back in but the group left before allowing me to do so whilst shouting at me. So I would appreciate all the people from that night stopped leaving assuming reviews with no facts

Biblos was a great place to socialise until my friend was unexpectedly refused to re-enter after he left to smoke a cigarette. I felt that it was very targeted towards him as he was not hostile, rude, nor drunk. The staff however were. I will not be returning, nor will any of my friends or distant accomplices. good day.

I often go there for a casual night with friends but seen a female bouncer kicking someone out for no apparent reason other than the fact that they were dressed more alternative or the fact they were gay. They were stone cold sober whilst their friends were mwi to say the least but still got let back in somehow? witnessing this was absolutely shocking behaviour in 2023, sort your staff out because it was actually appalling tbh. Won’t be back after that…

Horrible establishment that clearly isn’t realising it’s 2023. Not allowing someone to re-enter after spending a lot of money for no reason as they were not drunk and had just arrived. Only explanation would be homophobia so if you have any morals about you i suggest you look for somewhere else to spend your money!

Really rude & kicking people out for absolutely no reason when they went out for a cigarette after spending £50 on alcohol inside waiting for them getting back in, they weren’t drunk, bouncer was on a power trip

Me and my partner used to dine here pre-COVID and always spoke highly of it. Since returning post-COVID for our usual pre-theatre meal we were greeted with an incredibly low value meal at a fairly high Edinburgh price. Service was nothing but disappointing with staff clearly unaware as to what was happening. Security seemed very unfriendly as we left, overall was not impressed.

spent £50 on drink for one member of our party to go out for a cigarette and told by a jo brand-esc looking member of staff (security) that he was not allowed back in, even although he was sober and we had just arrived after viewing the ballet. she made this decision based on i presume homophobia and i hope she rues the day as other low reviews are due to follow. no respect. no care from staff that we paid the money we did. miss gurl was on her high horse and on a very periodical power trip (probably because shes not getting anything in the bedroom). this establishment should be ashamed.

Food was ok but what really annoyed me was that they didn't except my young scott card (even though i am 18 & 1/2 and look older than that) and it states my age and i have never been to a bar/restaurant that hasn't excepted my young scott card for alcohol(specifically cider)

It's a really nice bar with fresh and tasty fish and chips, and the price is great too!

First time visit last night and I was hugely disappointed. Not just my table but other tables were served by numerous waiters who were all asking the same questions and numerous times. Halfway through our starters, another waiters came over to our table and asked if we were ready for our main meals and then looked confused when I said ‘no’ as we’ve not finished our staters yet which were only served to us about 2 minutes before. I wish that I didn’t bother ordering the haggis bites as they were awful. They were coated in a soggy batter, drenched in a watery gravy which is a first for me as haggis bites have always been breaded and served with a whiskey sauce. Mains weren’t much better either. Both plates looked like the food was thrown on it which should’ve been a warning not to eat it. My burger was very dry and the melted cheese on top was so weird and gloopy. It actually made me physically sick. The lemon peppered chicken was dry and the broccoli was severely undercooked. Really disappointed in my visit here. Between the food and the Fawlty Towers service, I’d not recommend this place

Reasonably priced food and the staff were very friendly.

We stopped here for dinner because it was right next to the Jazz Bar. Service was slow, food was decent but nothing great. All in all a very unremarkable meal. Sometimes ya just want that kind of thing, but this wasn’t one of those nights for us.

Fish n' Chips waren lecker. Fisch sehr schön gebacken. Caesar's Salad mit Hühnchen war wirklich reichlich und lecker. GinTonic's sind echt preiswert!

Great food, the fish was fresh and tasted amazing, the fries were lovely and crispy. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

The blue cheese burger was good, worth £13. Basic pasta with tomato sauce for the same price might be a bit cheaper. The service was exceptional though and watching people passing by the window wall was surprisingly soothing, probably because of the nice ambient lighting inside

The customer service here is dreadful! I had to convince the staff to let us in at 10pm so we could have a drink as they didn’t want to seat anyone for drinks for another hour, despite the fact that they had stopped serving food. Tried several times to engage with the staff but was met with cold responses. I’d suggest you head elsewhere. On a separate day a friend went in looking gluten free options and was told there was a wide selection, turns out after the drinks order was taken, all that was available were salads!

Was having a good night the the bar staff had a rotation there was a girl with dark curly hair and for some reason she took a disliking to our group we had done.nothing wrong she.ended up getting us chucked out for nothing so sad she needs to get a life did not end our night we ended up at another bar and enjoyed the rest of our night but just to warn yous if that little boot dose not like your group then you won't be served

Visited biblos with some friends, after a trip to the Highlands. I got a burger, not the best due to the beef, it's not from fresh meat. The others food was ok.

I visited on Wednesday the 8th of March early evening and was completely ignored by the individual who was supposed to be serving. It was not busy and there were several ladies waiting for drinks. I used the toilet and returned to the bar and asked if I could make my order. I was told there was a waiter (is that his job description?). He ignored me! No customer service training . No wonder Edinburgh is going to the dogs. On my last visit there was a nice young lady waitress and I left a positive review.

Booked restaurant based on their menu of set dinner 5pm as theatre at 7pm. Arrived early and restaurant was like an ice box. Asked for menu and told set menu wasn't available now but still on Google on website. When drinks ordered they weren't able to tell us what wines were available as girl required to tell us. Eventually drinks arrived and meal ordered. The food was very good and really enjoyed it. The staff were very attentive and polite but think their management needs a bit more knowledge training so that these kids don't look stupid when asked a question. No blame on staff it all starts at the TOP. 4 STARS FOR STAFF. 1 STAR FOR TRAINING

We had a lovely meal and reasonably priced bottle of wine here for lunch. Couldn’t fault a thing. Place was warm, staff were efficient

Lovely place unfortunately service was not the best! We got given our main meal before our starter...asked for more drinks then had to ask again as server had forgotten. When main meal came out had to ask for more cutlery! Had to go up and order pudding when server brought spoon for pudding our plates were left on the table and not taken away until server brought the pudding out... starters were good..steak was ok!

Was staying just around the corner so was very convenient. We enjoyed a variety of cocktails which were great. The atmosphere inside the bar was very good and the live music was enjoyable

Nice atmosphere here, and th staff were excellent, very friendly and attentive and couldn't do more to help. Nice enough menu with a good choice, but overall the food was just a bit average.

Good place to eat and drink in a scotish food and beer. Not so far high street et Just near scotland muséum...Walters are very pleasant.

Nachos to share, panini and chips. Shame about the cremated aubergine but service was with a smile although slow. Despite the downs I will be back cos I actually like this place.

Went here two nights on the run and had some of the best food we've had for years.All four of us agreed that the food and service was excellent. The salmon, cheese chicken and king prawns were amazing.

I was impressed how many cocktails they sell was sitting at bar watching them putting one up after another .Every body was nice and manager was on the game kept my pint of larger topped up when I had finished.So very impressed. They serve food as well so will have to try that.
