Bert’s Pizzeria in Kingston upon Hull, City of

Excellent pizza, waited 15 minutes before we actually got served in a half empty restaurant. Food arrived but they'd forgot the drinks. Servers more interested in cleaning tables than serving patrons.

Visited Hull for the Aquarium and this place was proximal and convenient, the food was, also, tasty and corresponded to an Italian style pizza, the desserts, too, were nice, in addition, to the staff

The service was quick and the server was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. The food and drink were delicious. Not too pricey either. Lovely views outside the restaurant also as it overlooks the River Hull/Humber and The Deep, which on a night, all lit up, is really something special. Highly recommend

Great if you want to dine with children in a more adult environment.

Pizzas lovely. Wedges I sent back, I can't understand why they got sent out really burnt. Service was hit & miss...started off really good but then forgot to ask if we wanted desserts. The ice cream is lush. Would I return...........YES I would

A firm favourite - the wood fired pizzas and chip spice wedges are excellent... Just make sure you leave room for gelato at the end!

I had heard of Bert's from their gelato and wanted to sit in and try a three course meal, I ordered burrata, a spicy prawn pizza and tried 3 scoops of gelato for dessert. Starter was served quickly with tasty foccacia bread and burrata, with main following swiftly. Pizza was hot and actually had a bit of spice which isn't always the case when ordering 'spicy' foods at restaurants. Nice combination of prawns and salami. Gelato has a really good selection of flavours which I definitely recommend getting 3 different scoops to try a variety.

Usually come here with work, the pizzas are great, but the Calzones are delicious. It's not usually busy either.

Not that amazing italian pizza with incredible cornicione. Rather a slightly under cooked pizza, with average ingredients. Eatable but not so enjoyable

Came for a quiet lunch today with my partner, had two soft drinks, two number 6 pizzas, potatoes with truffle and Parmesan, dough balls with garlic butter and to finish a scoop of two different flavoured ice creams. Everything was exceptional, I’d go as far as saying the best pizza I’ve ever had. Thanks again to the chef and the kind waiting staff for a brilliant lunch.

Excellent pizza, lovely location with a nice view of the deep. They could do with a couple more waiters as we were waiting forever for someone to bring us the bill and desert menu, so I ended up getting it myself from behind the counter! Tables and chairs were also dirty. Great food, just need more staff to cope with running it.

The pizza here is decent and the location is nice but I want to say one thing. The pizzas on the menu do not have names and I think that is awful! A pizzeria has to give its pizzas names because firstly it's bad vibes but also it's annoying having to read the ingredients of 16 pizzas. Give them names please!

We went in on Friday teatime and it was pretty empty. Friendly staff, particularly the waiter. The numbering system for pizzas instead of names wasn't very helpful. Pizza was nice but it took ages to arrive, in an empty restaurant. Price was ok.

They had very good pizza and salads.

So I had foe a starter a trio garlic bread which is three separate garlic breads Normal, Cheese and Tomato was amazing bbq chicken pizza for my main was so good By the time we had finished, we we're all too full to order desert

Popped in for Gelato after a day at The Deep. Great service and the Gelato was wonderful. Pizzas looked and smelled good so will certainly be back for food when next in area.

Really good place. I particularly recommend the Bruschettas, they are absolutely delicious. I had Pizza #5, it was very good. It might be a bit spicy for some people and this is not mentioned in the menu.

Sat on the veranda with a lovely pint to watch Hull Universities 'the compass' projection onto the Deep. Didn't eat but maybe I should. Menu looked delicious.

5 star service solely down to the waiter Liam. When arriving all the staff where sat on a table eating pizza (could of been a staff meeting) All while Liam looked rushed off his feet but still providing great service, a credit to the team! Food was amazing

Nipped in before going to The Deep just across the road, it was quiet but we had heard great recommendations and the food didn't dissapoint. The pizza we had was great, filling and the menu had something for everyone. Our 18 month old daughter even enjoyed tucking into the kids menu, the server was polite and attentive. We actually nipped back for an ice cream after we finished at The Deep. Which was equally as good as the pizza. We would recommend if you are in the area and looking for somewhere to eat.

Wasn't busy when we arrived but had to go summon the attention of a waiter to announce we had been standing at the door for over 5 minutes waiting to be seated which was met with incredible disdain and a rather rude retort that we will be attended to shortly, and this was with a reservation! Goodness knows how they would cope if they were busy! Not quite sure I'd be inclined to want to rush back there even though the pizzas were not bad.

Nice place, pizza very good all though a little on the smaller side, good for lunch time pizza. Across the bridge (2 mins walk) from the deep. So good little spot

This place is AMAZING! Both times I have been, I have had incredible waiters/waitresses, delicious, beautiful food, and a fab time. Highly recommend the dough balls with pesto, the wedges and the number 4 pizza…..it was literally a kaleidoscope of taste, and such fabulous staff. Greeted like a friend, spoken to with genuine warmth & just amazing service all together 🖤 Specifically Liam, Megan, Kii & the other lovely waitress who served us the gelatos today, I did not catch your name I’m sorry. Lovely little place just across from the Deep. Popped in here for food with our daughter, whilst we had a drink. I would have taken a picture of the pizza but she ate it too quick. Very friend, hard working staff. Would highly recommend a visit!

Had a table booked for 4.30. The 2 waitresses that served us were lovely and friendly 😊. Who we presumed was the manager or in charge was a little abrupt but it didn't spoil our meal or the atmosphere.

Our first ever visit. Only went out because the weather was bad and thought we would give this place a try. First arrived at 12 45 and no tables available which says a lot. Booked for 2 00 and had a little wander round and came back. Pizza as good as anything we've had and we have tried them all. Atmosphere and service very jolly.

Well on the off chance we popped across the river to see if a table was available for two adults and to teenagers after visiting The Deep, table available and service was swift,efficient and polite, food came prompt and the food was absolutely spot on, catering for gluten intolerance and accepting blue light card the experience was just what we hoped it would be thanks to all the staff we interacted with.

Lovely restaurant, food was very nice. Attended over lunch to a nearly empty restaurant, service was not that quick despite there being as many staff in as customers. To their credit staff were extremely helpful and friendly when serving us but in an empty restaurant it was difficult to ignore loud staff conversations across the room. The food was reasonably priced and the ice cream variety looked brilliant. I would definitely recommend going and I'm sure the issues we experienced are unlikely to be experienced at other times or by other visitors

Really lovely place for a group of friends with children. The best gluten free pizza I’ve ever had and everyone else said their food was amazing too! Highly recommend. Big shout out in particular to Kii, whose service and attentiveness was second to none. Thank you.

I'm only leaving one star as I can't leave none. I've never had such an awful experience in a restaurant. Sat there for an hour after ordering food, for half of that I could see our doughballs and olives sat on the counter. No pizzas in sight, there were 3 teenagers in the kitchen just messing around (I was sat right infront of them) After an hour a woman (I think was the manger) brought the doughballs and some burnt bread over. We said that they had been sat there for half an hour could we have fresh ones she looked furious and stomped off with them without saying a word. At that point point we left as it was 8pm and we were starving so we went to Nandos. This was meant to be my daughters graduation celebration meal. They weren't even busy!! Awful place.

First time I’ve been to Bert’s after hearing so many recommendations and it really lived up to expectation! We had such a warm greeting by Kii who was bubbly, friendly and very attentive! We definitely felt looked after with her. I highly urge everyone to go - we’ll most certainly return soon!

5 stars all round, a specific mention to the waitress with blue and black hair, Alisha. Not only was the service fantastic, everything came in a timely manner and the conversations with her were very pleasant. Everything tasted great and the presentation was beautiful, definitely an experience to remember and I am already looking forward to the next visit. She also made an excellent recommendation of prosecco to start us off with the evening's festivities.

I visited with my mum earlier today and was served by anastasia. She was very welcoming and her service was impeccable. She seemed happy to answer any questions and had a very fun personality! she is an asset and we look forward to visiting again!

Have visited previously and make a point to visit every time we're in Hull. I had the number 13 but with the peppers removed due to personal preference (pictured). My fiancée had the number 5 with a caprese salad. All the food was piping hot, fresh and delicious. The staff were lovely and helpful. Will be back at some point, I'm sure.

Pizza was amazing, Particularly the tomato sauce base, really tasty! Liam was our server and was amazing, he was very attentive and welcoming! Service such as that is a credit to the employer! Will definitely be back again when we are in the area!

Dined here on 6.5.23. This was our second visit. Our last visit was what feels like a life time go. Upon entering we were greated with a warm welcome, Seated straight away. Left a few moments to browse the drinks menu. Drinks ordered. Food order was taken 15 minutes later due to our lack of being able to make a choice on the delicious sounding pizzas. The food came 20 or so minutes which we have no issue with especially as going out is a real treat for us so we don't mind it taking time so we can fully enjoy our experience when we dine anywhere. We asked for our antipasti starter to come out with our main, as we have found this definitely works with our children as they still don't fully understand the concept of starter, main, dessert at intervals. The food arrived and we were very happy with the result. The pizza base was really crisp was delicious and full of flavour. The toppings tasted fresh with each element complimenting on another. Slightly smaller than I hoped in relation to price but as I always say and stand by, the price should always reflect the product or produce and it certainly did. I request a margarita without the tomato base as my daughter dislikes this. No issue at all and again full of flavour even without the tomato. Which for me states again the flavour in the dough and in the toppings. Thank you to the waiting staff for your attentiveness and the chefs for the food. We will be back in the future.

Wonderful pizza, friendly staff and felt the price reflected the quality. Our server was amazing (she had short hair and the cutest sliders on) and was great with our little boy. Gelato was a lovely finish too!

Called here on a Saturday night. It wasn't busy at all, so no problem with getting a table. Service and food was very good.

This was our first time at the Hull restaurant after eating at the Brandesburton one a few years ago. The food was lovely - fresh ingredients, well presented & good portions. The service & atmosphere however did not match up to the food. We waited for nearly 10 minutes to be seated with staff wandering past without even acknowledging we were there or saying they’d be with us in a moment. Eventually we were seated & soon had drinks & had a placed our food order with a waitress who seemed like she would rather be somewhere else. We ordered starters but our pizzas arrived first. As the server put them on the table I said we hadn’t actually had our starters yet & was told quite sharply “well it didn’t say starters on the order so it’s all coming out together.” She then turned & left before I could respond before hurrying back, dumping the starters on the table & leaving again clearly not wanting to discuss the matter. We were hungry & despite the mix up the food looked lovely so we put our mains aside and got on with our starters. The rest of the food was very nice, although we did hurry to eat our starters to avoid our mains getting cold. The service throughout was inattentive with the staff (both servers & chefs visible in the open kitchen) looking bored & miserable. The waiting staff scurried around avoiding eye contact with customers & all seemed stressed, even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy, which made for an uncomfortable atmosphere. Had the atmosphere been better we would have stayed for another drink & to try the amazing looking gelato but all in all I wouldn’t recommend or visit again. Such a shame as the food was lovely but the service was a real let down.

Booked a table today for 3 people food was excellent chicken salad and all pizzas was delicious.we later on popped back after a trip to the deep due to not having much time left and telling me daughter we will go back for some gelato, lady with short hear served us sorry didn't get her name was so lovely and bubbly very polite.would definitely recommend and return.thank you for a lovely lunch

Fantastic food, noisy acoustics. They had system problems when we visited, which delayed our order. However, the food was well worth the wait and the staff looked after us well.

Food was nice although quite expensive drinks also expensive service slow , finished food asked for bill and was told she’d bring it over ,waited 10 mins she never brought it so went back up again to see if we could pay , wasn’t overly busy either so shouldn’t really happen

Great Pizza place close to The Deep. It tends to look a bit industrial around there, but inside Berts was fine. Quick service and great food.
