Great coffee Taste A bit lacking in music. Unlike Roasters. Too much like cafe 77. Very friendly. Rolls too soft. Love it though.

Great coffee Taste but the takeaway cups are not up to the job. seem to spill when you take a sip. So why not invest in some branded cups and put the price up. I’d pay more for nicer take out cups.

Had a lovely breakfast this morning everything was delicious ,and service from friendly staff Hilary and alan cant wait to return.

My hubby and I had a second visit here today. Another Groupon deal for hamburgers, chips and coleslaw. Both of us had the steak burger which were very tasty and of really good quality. Lovely fresh chips and the best creamy coleslaw along with it made this a very nice meal. The cafe was busy but handled well by the friendly staff.

Having previously purchased a Groupon voucher and having had a lovely breakfast we purchased 2 further breakfast vouchers (terms as per the initial voucher). On our first visit (15.7.23) a Saturday, a male member of staff talked us through how it all worked etc., and we even stayed for further coffee and cake. Today (28.8.23) however, was a terrible experience. Watch out for the contradictory statements on the voucher!!!!!!!! On being approached by a female member of staff to take our order we highlighted the fact that we had a breakfast voucher. She advised she would have to check if it was "valid"!!!! This puzzled us as it was the same as the first voucher. The same male member of staff who attended to us on our initial visit came over and requested us to open the App and to read the last sentence of the terms and conditions - which states it is not valid at the weekend. We pointed out that the said terms and conditions also stated "Valid Saturday - Sunday 9 am to 10.30 am. He advised that they knew the statement was wrong, had contacted Groupon and was not willing to honour the voucher for today. I find it strange that the exact same voucher is still on sale now containing the same contradictory statement - despite the Cafe and Groupon apparently both knowing it is wrong. And, as I have highlighted earlier, it was such a voucher we used on our initial visit!!! I pointed out this issue was between them and Groupon and that they should be honouring the contradictory vouchers until they sort this out with Groupon. Very bad experience today, not handled at all well by staff, we left the premises, without eating, wont be back and wont be recommending this establishment.

not great at all, young staff who are rude and bicker over the tables and whos tips they belong too, food was average at best, we are new to area but will avoid this greasy spoon with poor staff with rude attitude

My hubby and I were here today for a burger deal through Groupon. We had a steak burger and a chicken burger both of which were of really good quality. They were served with french fries and a very creamy and lovely coleslaw. Both of the staff that dealt with our order were very friendly and the cafe had a nice relaxing atmosphere. Looking forward to a return visit soon.

Popped in for a cafe stop when out on bike with friends. Just for tea, maybe do with a bit bigger cup for the tea, or give a mug option, I like my tea! and a cake. As you can tell from title that cake was an large Empire biscuit. Tasted of shortbread and a soft icing...excellent! Very prompt, pleasant staff.

Excellent little cafe on the main road with superb and friendly service, varied menu and high quality food. Never had a poor meal on any visit. Delicious cakes available too.

My cat had to go into the vet for an op. We had a couple of hours to spare an went into Bernie's for breakfast. It was delicious. Lovely friendly staff. Good prices. Clean and bright. Great atmosphere. My daughter and I really enjoyed our visit.

Went to Bernie's yesterday with the family for a spot of lunch, we were served by Emily. Customer service was excellent and our toasties, hot chocolates and coffees were amazing as usual. This place is a must if you are ever in Bridge of Weir.

Visited a couple of times within a week. Good range of dishes. Service good as well but a bit slow last time. A toastie and a “wee soup” was v popular. Parking a bit awkward but you can park down the lane.

Went here today for breakfast after spending the night at a cottage with the Mrs and it was top notch. Food was excellent and service was very pleasant. If I'm in the area anytime soon I know what I will be getting to eat.

I visited Bernie’s on Monday 3 August with my 5 year old daughter. I live locally and I’ve been a regular customer at Bernie’s since it opened. Something has changed. It used to be the type of place where the staff knew your name, knew your usual order etc. The customer service has always been exceptional. Yesterday, I was made to feel like an inconvenience. A young member of staff (with blonde hair) spent our entire visit rolling her eyes at customers. It was so very rude and made me feel uncomfortable. She rolled her eyes at a table politely asking for menus, at a table asking for more drinks etc. I asked a very helpful member of staff (with red hair) if I could move from an outside table to a table inside as my daughter was cold - I was unsure if this would be possible due to the track and trace procedures in place. She kindly helped us to an alternative table. The aforementioned rude member of staff balked at me for moving shouting “you can’t move due to the COVID thing. You have to tell someone”. I explained that I had asked permission and she demanded to know who I had spoken to. I then witnessed the infamous eye rolling. I fully appreciate that it is a very difficult for businesses at present but that doesn’t give staff permission to be rude to customers. I’m really disappointed.

Had afternoon tea at home with my wife, prepared by our favourite cafe Bernies. Absolutely delicious. Let's hope you get to open soon as we have all missed you. Our favourite place to sit, enjoy a coffee and something nice to eat. While they are closed though order afternoon tea, you won't be disappointed and you will help a little by supporting our local business. Thanks to everyone at Bernies... Hope you open soon

I had an hour to fill in while in Bridge of Weir. I went into Bernies for a coffee and a sandwich. Very friendly service, good coffee ( could have been hotter) excellent sandwich, beautifully served with side salad and the best coleslaw I have ever tasted. I strongly recommend a visit.

Went there with a deal we bought from Groupon for a full cooked breakfast with warm buttery toast and a mug of tea. Absolutely delicious and not swimming in fat. The Stornaway Black Pudding was the best and you have a choice of how you like your eggs. I chose poached and again absolutely perfect. Attentive staff on a laid back environment.

We came here for the big Scottish breakfast. It was very good with all the bits that made it Scottish present and correct. My egg was poached perfectly and none of the food was greasy. We also found out that they do an afternoon tea for £9.95 Must try that. We will be back.

Had a lovely lunch at Bernies. I had a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich and my daughter who can be quite fussy had a hot cajun chicken wrap both served with salad and coleslaw. Attentive staff and quick service. We will definitely be back.

Had a fab late lunch today at Bernies, friendly service and nice atmosphere. Everything on the plate was lovely I had a croque monsieur didn’t need dinner I am so full. Will definitely be back- the cakes look lovely.

Had a lovely afternoon tea at Bernies, everything was fresh and tasted good. Scones and empire biscuit was the highlight for me but I’d maybe prefer more sandwiches, maybe just another two with a chicken filling perhaps. But over all lovely day and great friendly staff.

Was told that they could not guarantee the soup was vegan. Surely it's just a yes or no, would feel happier if staff knew what they were selling/serving. I felt very uncomfortable as this was discussed in front of me by a few members of staff as if I wasn't there. Very dismissive attitude. Very unprofessional.

This cafe does the best high tea, well presented and very tasty. Staff helpful and the cafe is nice and clean. Looking around the food on offer looks good. We could not finish the food as the portion was so large.

Have been twice in the last month and both times my order has been wrong.very poor. Also service does not come with a smile...all in all very disappointed.

Went along to Bernies for Christmas Dinner on the 6th December. What can I say.... I expected the food to be good because their food is always good, but it was fabulous. After dinner they had organised a band who were great and the atmosphere was lovely. Altogether a wonderful evening, would highly recommend it and will look forward to next year.

Recently had afternoon tea here with friends, and we all agreed that it was very enjoyable. Sandwiches were nice and fresh, scones with jam & cream were delicious, and cakes were very nice too. I think we may very well be back!

Just been for lunch with friends who are travelling through Scotland. What a lovely cafe, the food was fantastic and great choice at reasonable prices. My friends had been in many cafes during their trip but said this was definitely one of the best for choice and value for money. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Our afternoon tea was O.K. but nothing to write home about. Not many sandwiches and I have had better cakes, What really put me off was the strong smell of damp in the restaurant. Service was also just O.K. our food came promptly, but the staff didn't seem happy. Not a pleasant experience.

Our party of 4 adults, a 4 year old and a toddler went for Saturday brunch today at 10.30am. We used to go a lot but hadn’t been for months. I'm afraid we had a poor experience this time, for several reasons.

I have been to Bernie’s several times but hadn’t been for a while. I couldn’t believe the service- the lady didn’t smile once! My order also came out wrong which wasn’t ideal. Normally the food is very nice but was not impressed with my last visit.

The breakfast was delicious well cooked and well presented. The service was very good and the prices were worth it. There were a number of delicious cakes available.

Stopped for quick coffee and cake. Coffee/tea ok however cakes were poor quality. My husband had carrot cake and I had gluten free lemon and coconut cake - both were very dry as though they had been sitting out for a number of days. The surroundings were pleasant enough and the experience could have been so much better if the produce was fresher.

To say farewell to a colleague we had a large lunch at Bernie's. We phoned earlier in the week and booked a table for 8 for lunch. That morning we ordered in advance our various requirements and they were waiting for us on our arrival. The staff were quick and attentive then left us to munch. A great light meal. We'll be back!

Always make good coffee sit in or take away and nice friendly staff!!Seating outside and set back from road which can be busy but good for people watching.

I've been to Bernies a few times and always enjoyed it. Recently had the afternoon tea which was really good and excellent value for money. And the cakes were delicious! Would recommend Bernies and definitely be back.

Appeared at around 3.30pm on Saturday. Greeted by waitress who looks at her watch and asks what menu we want. Explain we are in for coffee and cakes, she vaguely waves to a table then wanders away. Younger waitress takes order, she is perfectly courteous. I can hear first waitress being very snippy with other customers. Had the overwhelming feeling she wanted to shout "It's nearly home time. Get out!" You go for cake and coffee as a treat not to be made feel like a nuisance. It has out me off going back in. A little courtesy goes a long way.

Had a very enjoyable lunch here last week, our grandson loved his smoothie and soup/sandwich combo and we enjoyed our sandwiches and coffee. Nice relaxed venue with good staff and lots of books, toys and crayons to keep kiddies entertained. A little pricier than we were expecting though and didn't get any form of receipt so not at all sure what anything cost as we didn't order from a menu as such, just asked for the food listed above....

Good friendly meeting point in village with a wide choice of food teas and coffees. Anything from fresh scones to a nice snack. Worth a stop over if you travelling on the cycle track.

Nice place with a good snack selection and nice baking. Atmosphere is good and a nice variety of couches and tables. There is an outside area which would bepleasant in the summer months. Popular with cyclists as the cycle track is nearby.

I’ve been here twice now and the food and service has been lovely, a nice cozy place to sit On a comfy sofa and read the paper or sit at a table and have lunch/dinner has WiFi ... when I was there I had the macaroni cheese and it was delicious mum had lasagne she didn’t complain either there were specials on the board but we ordered from the menu I went back with my daughter a few days later and I can see us being a bit of a regular the cake selection is excellent and hard to resist we ended up taking away some as we were so full. It seems popular for take away as well. I’ll deffo be back for a morning fry up next it looks amazing . I also noticed that it has outside seating and tables which will be lovely in the better weather. The menu looked great I Intend to try it all

I had a fantastic 50th birthday party at Bernies. The party took place on a Saturday night and we had the whole venue to ourselves. Pamela and the staff were wonderful to work with before the event. The food and wine supplied were high quality, the atmosphere was perfect - low lights, candles on tables etc. They have speakers so we were able to play music of our choice throughout the evening. The layout was perfect, comfortable intimate sofas plus dining tables for guests who prefer to sit at a table and eat. I couldn't recommend them enough, very very happy with my evening. Thank you!

I love going to this cafe with friends. The food is great, homemade with a good selection, and very reasonably priced. The cakes are lovely too. Nice relaxing atmosphere, service is always excellent and made to feel welcome.

People who give this a high rating may have low standards as this cafe is not terrific. The eggs poached eggs on the eggs benedict taste very strongly of vinegar - quite unnecessary when poaching eggs. It completely kills the taste of everything else....and the sauce wasn’t very nice either. The service was very slow and the staff we met were a bit ‘take it or leave it’ - a definite attitude was evident. Baked goods, although a lot of choices, were below what you would hope for when looking at their ‘just home baked’ presentation. Won’t be back.

Visited here for lunch recently and enjoyed the visit. Lots to choose from off the menu, food is lovely and a warm friendly service. I had the macaroni cheese - best I’ve tasted!

Had an hour to burn and popped in for a brunch. A fantastic menu that appealed to my sweet tooth. Had pancakes with nutella and syrup with real bacon giving it the edge over the US crispy stuff equivalent. Coffee was also lovely and read the complimentary paper. Highly recommended.

I've eaten here loads of times and not had any issues. However. I've visited twice in the last couple of weeks, both times ordering Eggs Benedict and both times having to send it back. How hard is it to get a poached egg right? Both times this resulted in me eating alone instead of first with family then with friends. Second time I opted for pate instead of waiting yet again for raw or hard eggs in the hope that my friend wouldn't have finished her lunch before I got mine! Didn't work out.

Dropped in for lunch pleasantly surprised never been before . Food and service was quick and food was served in a short time . Food was tasty and good size portions - burger with black pudding and chorizo was good, my wife had a the hole hog which was served in brown bread and was a large portion and for a little extra you can have soup as well . Prices reasonable and what you expect anywhere these days . Would visit again .

Great sell out night at Bernie's on Saturday. Food was delicious thanks to chef Yvonne. Really enjoyed the starter of hot smoked salmon with new potato salad with a quails egg on top and the delicious venison for main. A rep from woodwinters wine talked us through each of the wines accompanying the different courses which was interesting. All of this for £35 per head.

Once again we have returned, this time it was our wedding anniversary apparently. Anyway brilliant as ever. The highly ginger owner is providing the waiting service whilst I think its his missus producing the top quality food...and it is quality. That's all you need to know, very well priced quality. Once again I will be back.

My daughter wanted to treat me for breakfast and as had visited Bernie's with friends previously she said I would like it. I was not disappointed, lovely friendly atmosphere, comfy sofas and an extensive breakfast menu. Very busy café and I'm not surprised....I will be back.

Popped in to Bernie's for the first time in a while, a couple of soups, tea and coffee, service was fast and friendly, soup was lovely and it's really nice to find a cafe that serves great coffee, hats off to Marc, Karen, the kitchen staff (Yvonne) and all the front of house staff, highly recommended

Went here today with my mum and 90 year old mother-in-law and was delighted with everything.

Had lunch. We had to send soup back ad it was luke warm. Another table after us also sent it back. Basic "cheap" batch supermarket style bread given with soup & also on sandwiches (costing £6-£7 per sandwich ). I would expect better and more at this cost.

Bernies is the perfect venue for celebrating with family and friends. They catered for 30 of my friends and family for my son's 18th birthday and provided a fabulous two course dinner with chocolate fudge cake (on request from the birthday boy) to follow. The staff are friendly and obliging and the surroundings warm with an intimate feel. I will be using this venue again and again! Highly recommended. Thank you Marc and staff for a wonderful night and I look forward to the next

I didn't know Bernie's held private functions so I took a gamble and it definitely paid off! If you're looking for a venue to host a party with a great atmosphere, reasonably priced bar and delicious food then this is the place to book. Marc and his team did a great job looking after us and nothing was too much bother. I think it can hold approximately 70 people, we had 60 and it was just the right size. The seating/bar area was nicely lit and at the back of the room we had the dj and there was plenty of room to dance. Will be definitely book again when hosting another party!

My wife and I were recently out this way for the first time, having our wedding flowers framed. We were recommended to try Bernie’s for a coffee.

We've used Bernies now many times, friendly, clean and tasty food. My only slight criticism would be that sometimes it's too busy! Well worth a visit.

Had lunch on 18/8/17 and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great and food was beautiful. I had the baked potato with tuna mayo and my sis had club sandwich and both cleaned the plate :) Will be back again!!

Attended a bistro night. Whereby the staff showcase what they can do....then can do plenty. Great intimate evening with wonderful hard working, dedicated staff. Trust me guys if you did this more regularly you would make a fortune. Our ginger haired waiter couldn't be nicer, wonderful meal, wonderful experience and I will be back. Well done.

Great Scottish breakfast with choice of sausage, eggs of all styles, crispy bacon, blackpudding, potato scones, mushrooms, beans, fried tomatoes and toast. All 4 of us managed to eat 4 different combinations. Well worth a visit.

Been at Bernies on many occasions including lunch; celebration function and of course Yvonne the chefs brilliant bistro night. Fabulous 3 course dinners for only 19.95 every couple of weeks on a Saturday night. Looking so forward to the next one on 12 August. Xx

This place has been a firm favourite for me and my friends for years. Great brunch and lunch menu (anything with poached eggs amazing & top class makeral pate). There's also a wee basket of pencils, books and toys to keep the kids amuzed (a long with an ice cream counter). Finish off with a coffee and cake from the counter. Always a winner!

The finest coffee shop restaurant in Bridge of Weir, great coffee and food along with friendly staff. Best to book when busy.
