Bentley's Cafe in Rochford

I was in there today and after my late breakfast of egg Benedict with in 10 minutes I had to rush to the bathroom with a very upset tummy - been throwing up several times. Unfortunately I won’t be returning.

Great Cafe if you're waiting on the bus.I like the special with the salmon and avocado.

Lovely food and friendly people. There was a bit of a mix up with drinks but this was very quickly dealt with by the helpful staff

Food was pretty good,nothing to moan about. Was very busy,so noisy with people so difficult to chat but honest value food anyway. Staff were quick taking our orders and friendly enough. Perfect if you are short of time. Included menu in photos as the list is vast,so something for everyone. Coffee was pretty good

Very friendly, attentive staff and quick service considering how busy they were! No frills type of meal but for the price can't fault it.

Great cafe fry up, just as it should be. Good portions, good food, staff on the ball, busy at times, because they are good, that ain't a bad thing.

Food was OK, staff were a bit weird though. Almost verging on the rude side and made a very strange request when it can time for payment. This is my second time here and after this interaction its probably going to be my last.

Went there this morning after a while, have always had a good experience in the past. Unfortunately today was different, they have a 2 eggs on 2 toast option and a 3 scrambled eggs on 2 toast option. I asked if I have the 2 eggs on 2 toast if they can be scrambled to which I was told yes and so I ordered that and a tea. The tea came in a small mug not a standard size they used to do, the toast was burnt and eggs slightly undercooked. I chose not to say anything but when it came to paying I was charged for 3 eggs and 2 toast which is more than 2 eggs, when i questioned this and explained I asked about and ordered 2 eggs the younger girl told me it’s only scrambled if it’s 3 which wasn’t what I was told when I ordered albeit with a different girl. I paid nonetheless and I doubt I’ll be going back anytime soon if at all shame as it’s always been very good there.

This is an amazing cafe providing a huge range on the menu. Lunches, snacks, meals are always delicious, generous and personal requests are cheerily taken on board. The range of smoothies is up there with the best. Staff work flat out to keep their customers happy and provide an efficient service. I can see why this is such a popular place and one of Rayleigh's little gems.

Went to Bentleys after having lots of people recommend it. 1st time and found it amazing. The staff were polite, friendly and looked very professional. The food was excellent with great portions and great quality. We will definitely be going here again and again. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Great value for money, the breakfasts are the perfect portion size (very large). The staff are friendly and happy. Will return soon to try out the lunch and dinner menu.

I really wanted poached eggs and they were basically hard-boiled, my breakfast companion had eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce was just plain awful. The waitress didn't even seem like she wanted to know what we actually ordered, as she brought us the wrong thing three times and asked us how much we wanted to pay on each card when we clearly stated multiple times we wanted to split it in half. They didn't even have coffee. Mushrooms were delicious. Bit shoddy and disappointing, but the rest of the breakfast was okay.

My husband and I have visited here for lunch twice recently and I must say it’s amazing. Staff are friendly, big portion sizes and great choice of food. Worth driving from Southend just to eat.

Hubby likes a cooked breakfast so Bentleys is great as their menu is huge. I like poached eggs on toast . The bread is good quality and always fresh. Service is quick even though they are always busy . They do take away as well and when we recently moved to Rayleigh I popped in to buy lots of bacon sandwiches for all the guys helping to move us. Very nice all round

1st time at Bentleys, 1st place we choose to have brunch at since being allowed to eat out/dine in. Great prices, great food will be back again.

Brilliant value, huge portions, efficient service and a friendly team. A great place to go for a casual lunch. During lockdown, they packaged things up nicely and my partner and I enjoyed our lunch on the picnic benches in the park! We've been going to Bentley's pretty much since it opened and have never been disappointed.

I ordered (through Uber app) a chicken escalope panini , latte and chips.Firstly the escalope was the disappointing part, wasn’t an escalope in any shape or form, more a small, thin southern fried chicken finger that barely covered one half of the panini , a cheap reformed chicken slice and tasteless, worse I’ve ever tried . I dont recommend it at allLatte was only half a small cup , all foam .On a positive the chips were fine and still warm.I did call them and was offered more chicken next time, doubt there will be a next time based on this. Happy to be proved wrong but wasn’t a good first impression by any means.

the grub was banging. the crab sandwich's were pinching my taste buds it is such a good bargain for some mad food. staff were amazing and good service will be coming again -tyler

Returned after several months for obvious reasons and the food and service were excellent. Highly recommend the cheese and spinach omelette. Great value. Will be back soon.

Absolutely fantastic , first time we ordered from here today. And I’ll definitely order again. Food arrived hot, plenty of it. My son ate half of his roast chicken dinner and saved the other half for later tonight because he couldn’t finish it. My daughter only wanted a sandwich but even that was enough for her. 5 star ⭐️ delivery , quick and friendly.

Used this great Rayleigh café for about 2 years now. Restricted to take away at the moment due to Government Covid restrictions. The food and service has always been excellent. Prices are good, service friendly and the food hot and tasty.

Following Grandsons 4 jabs at the doctor we popped here for a drink. Sat outside. Very friendly and attentive table service. Cafe looked Covid secure inside. We shared a delicious Carrot cake and chocolate muffin between the 3 of us - wife and daughter. The coffee was so nice I ordered 2 Americano. My first visit here and it won’t be my last. Thanks all

I echo the other reviews about Bentley’s Cafe having complete disregard for the well-being of their customers. They’ve squeezed as many tables inside as possible without any attempt at social distancing. It is clear they care more about profits than their customers. The staff wear masks on their chin or, at best, over their mouths and not their noses. Patrons are entering the cafe without masks unchallenged. Nothing is cleaned. There is no attempt at encouraging customers to engage in track and trace. I’m not eating here again. Ever.

No regard for customer safety. Masks worn as chin guards by all staff , plastic menus , condiments on tables . As per growing number of reviews on Trip advisor this is not a safe place to eat during Covid . Shame as food ok.

Went in for lunch with family . Staff wore masks as chin guards . No hand sanitizer, no track and trace , no attempt at social distancing by staff.

The food and service was excellent. There is a comprehensive menu with plenty of choice, the portions are great. The service was quick and friendly. This is a busy cafe with excellent service.

The food is great and the staff friendly.Sadly their not following the guidelines. Staff are not covering their face ONLY their mouth! No sanitiser. They are doing track and trace, but are leaving the pad where you are sitting to fill in, sharing the same pen that everyone else has been using, also you have everybody else's information on show!They only clean the tables, not the chairs.The sauce bottles etc and menu are left on the table and are not cleaned.A real shame as a lovely place to eat.

This was a lovely café pre-Coronovirus, but I would rather go somewhere that endeavors to follow the rules correctly and takes all the proper precautions to protect its customers and staff.

Lovely cup of coffee this morning but will not be visiting again for a while as waitress was telling customers no need to wear face covering as they entered and no mention at all of the track and trace register they are required to keep

Dope place for great crab sandwiches and a cup of coffee

First time out in a while and missed breakfast, decided to eat here as it looked pleasant. Waitress was friendly and we were served straight away. As I’m eating my breakfast I realised that every chef behind the counter was wearing a face mask... on there chin!! Even if all these chefs were part of that same family it does not excuse them cooking and preparing food unprotected in this day and age. Further more, another customer came in, only for the waitress to remove there face mask when asking for their order without social distancing. Safe to say that even when things go back to normal I won’t be eating here and at present would warn people to eat here because precautions are followed very loosely if at all

Have eaten in the cafe before and decided to order a delivery yesterday; jackets, panini's and latte, arrived quickly, all piping hot and freshly cooked, very tasty and coffee was very enjoyable I guess in the current situation supply and demand is governing price but with the guarantee of good food and quick delivery I am happy to pay that at the moment

A very friendly obliging staff and a huge menu! We all had a job to decide what to have as pictures on website all look so delicious! Their plates of well-cooked food are very big and Bentleys is great value for money! Definitely worth many visits!

Great place for a light lunch with a Turkish flavour if you want it, or good old English food, great pleasant service.

If you want a fry up that's value for money and you have a big appetite then go here! Was very impressed with my bacon, sausage, egg, chips and beans. The sausages were better quality than the usual anemic cheap ones you get these were fat and very tasty! The toast is proper door stop toast not that cheap sliced stuff. I think i had a whole can of beans and the eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly, all for a very reasonable price. oh and the chips were nice too. They have a daily special which was homemade lasagna and they have a nice selection of cakes on display too. I will definitely be going back.

My wife and I eat out fairly regularly, some expensive restaurants and a lot of mid-range. We visit Bentley's regularly and just LOVE the place. It's clean, it has a very large and varied menu, good portion sizes, freshly cooked and the service is always extremely professional and courteous (have to give a huge "big up" to blonde Karen - always remembers us and knows how we like things done and is your typical "service with a smile" lady !!).And it's not just what you'd think of as typical "cafe" food. Roasts, lasagne, chilli, veggie options, they WILL have something for you . . . . and if you aren't filled by your savoury course, then the Cherry Pie and Custard afterwards will leave you unfastening your waistband ! I could eat in here every day - give this place a go (it beats my wife's cooking, between you n I, Shhhhh Shhhhhhhhhhhh ) .Highly recommend !!

Have visited bentleys twice in recent weeks. I went for a full English it was high quality and plenty of it!. Best breakfast I have had in a long while. Prices are amazing two. Staff are very nice and service is first rate. Five stars from me. Big fan will be back.

Popped out for a breakfast Sunday morning, I refused to go to the Roebuck due to their bad service level.Found Bentleys by chance - very good and attentive staff - speedy service and very clean. My wife had cheese on toast whilst I had eggs benedicts - now I have had this dish in many London hotels but I can honestly say this the best I have ever had.

Top Quality Food, Very Reasonable Priced, Very Good Sized Portions, Amazing Fast, Friendly And Welcoming Service. Definitely Recommended. Best Cafe Around By Far

Popped in here for a fry-up before heading into the sports auction round the corner. Didn’t muck about ... straight for the full house. 2 sausages, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 hash (?) potatoes, fried egg, grilled tomato, mushrooms and beans, as well as 2 slices of doorstep toast and a mug of tea ... £7.60. Couldn’t finish it, but so tasty, and such good value. Could become a regular

We love Bentleys with its great family atmosphere. Great staff and lovely food. My only negative would be the portion size and cost. I’d prefer smaller portions and a lower price! The plates and portions are huge so an option for a 1/2 portion would be brilliant! Very minor gripe and I mean minor.

I tend to always have jacket potatoes (which are huge!) with hot fillings or rolls, but everything looks amazing in this cafe. It's my favourite in Rayleigh and surrounding areas. Lovely staff, great prices and very nice tea and coffee which is always important! :-)
