No mint sauce or salad with any starter or my tandoori chicken main Delivery was also late Disappointed

40 mins late, food was only luke warm. Green chicken curry was tasteless, plenty of chicken but low on flavour. Chicken Biryani was nice.

Food was late, cold and incorrect. Restaurant then wouldn’t answer the phone when trying to call. Very disappointing.

Always have amazing experience with Bengal, food is great, speed and service is amazing.

Overcooked shrivelled chewy prawns which made the main inedible and keema naan with hardly any keema. Really disappointed, normally the food is spot on.

What can I say the best by far in my opinion

Food was late by 30 mins and cold,had to microwave it which makes it taste even worse than it was,it was meant to be spicy which it wasn't at all and just packed out with onions and hardly any meat....total waste of money...won't use again.

Spent over 15 minutes on the phone to the delivery driver directing to the delivery address as he couldn’t find it. Ended up having to go out and find him. Delivery address was pinned on the app and the address is recognisable on SatNavs. The food was then all cold.

food was good quality, chapattis excellent but knocked a star off as we didn't get the onion salad we ordered. service late we ordered earlier so restaurant had plenty of time to plan delivery.

zero flavour in the meat, sauces were just oil with no flavour. portion sizes for rice and sides are a joke

Ordered this meal Tuesday and it was the best meal I've had in a long long time, ordered the same meal tonight (Saturday) and it was completely different,awful...don't understand, different chef maybe or just rushed...won't order at weekends again,maybe weekdays either to be honest,more expensive than most and won't risk it...shame.

Really good curry - will definitely be back. Only disappointment was that we ordered mint sauce and didn’t get it, which we were gutted about!

The peshwari naan did not get delivered and the one of the dishes was spilt all over the delivery bag.

The order was over 1 hour later than the delivery time. We had lamb Balti and the lamb was so tough we couldn’t eat it.. all in all very disappointing

Myself and my partner sat down and ordered drinks and poppadoms whilst looking at menu, during this time a other table was making a complaint which the waiter seems uninterested in. Our poppadoms and chutneys came, the poppadoms were overcooked. We then found two hairs in our chutneys!!! The waiter came over to ask of we were ready to order, to which we said we would like the bill and e placed we had found hair in the chutneys and showed him. The waiter couldn't care less about our complaint and didn't even acknowledge what we had said. No apology nothing! Will never set foot in this restaurant again!

I'm not sure if it's because we had a loyalty card discount bit this time its been very bad:tikka mañana was some shredded chicken bits swimming in a very sweet sauce. I'm still looking for a piece of chicken. Prawn balti was also very small prawns.

Curry had leaked all in the bag so half of it was not edible. Onion bhaji oil had gone all over the food too

Unfortunately the biryani wasn’t edible - it was far too spicy. We’ve ordered regularly from here and is usually good however not this time

Best Indian food in Crawley. Surpassed others by a mile. 8/10. Bhajis and samsosas could’ve been more flavourful, nonetheless, still top quality.

On the website it says enjoy food have waited ages for it called the restaurant it’s near but has been out for delivery for 35 minutes

Apart from some of the order being only warm, not hot, this being the second time that I've complained about the temperature of the food, the lamb in my Pasanda was ridiculously tough and absolutely inedible. We won't be ordering from them again

Best curry I’ve had in a while !

A friend & I have been getting takeaways from this restaurant for many years and always recommended the food to friends. The past three times however we have found the quality of the food has really gone downhill. On the most recent order we added a note to the online order requesting as part of the order a mild and a medium-mild curry. So, table laid & excitement building for our first takeaway together in a while. What a disappointment!! The once amazing samosas & onion bhajis were mediocre, the mild curry was very spicy, the lamb curry was poor (once tender lamb chunks are now replaced with small bitesize chewy/fatty slices) & the raita dip had just a few little bits of cucumber popped in the set yogurt (?) for good measure. Really not great & neither of us will be hurrying for another meal from there.

Whilst it was great to receive the order early, my side was incorrect. I order 1 x Onion and 1 x Onion Salad. Instead, one of them was a cold yoghurt based onion side dish. I would prefer that Bengal Spice take a little more time to ensure accuracy of the order.

The korma was like Tilgate lake and the naan hard as nails

Butter chicken had too much coconut taste. Biriyani didn’t taste nice and all food was cold. Threw most of it away!

Another lovely meal from Bengal Spice this evening.

Having ordered from Bengal Spices for many years and eaten within the restaurant this was a very disappointing experience. The food was warm at best, looked like it was overcooked and reheated, bland in colour and flavour. I even emailed the restaurant to ask for their response before posting this review but they chose not to reply. Regretfully I won’t be ordering from them again. Sadly after 20 years they have lost my custom.

Brilliant food, onion bhajis aren't dry as most from others are. Peshwari naan is 10/10. Delivered within 30-45 minutes. Will be ordered again. Thank you to the restaurant.

1st time ordering and the best curry i’ve had for a while. All the food was so tasty, hot and decent portion sizes. I Can’t wait to try more curries next time.

Been coming here for years but I’m afraid never again. Have always been pleased with the service and food but tonight was so different. You never know the truth of a restaurant until something goes wrong. Tonight there was so much wrong. Was it sorted…NO… lamb so tough, chicken undercooked, naan breads doughy in the middle, curry over spiced. The meal was ruined yet we were quite happy to have the items but not offered any replacements. A lot of it was due to a waiter that couldn’t understand what we were saying so we got no where and just accepted what we were given. I understand that things do go wrong with any establishment but it’s when they do go wrong that you realise the very low level of customer service experience they actually have. I do not appreciate being shouted out by members of staff at this restaurant and I certainly do not like being called a liar and banned from this establishment when all I did was speak up for a member of our party that was incapable of doing so because she has mental health problems. If I tell you something is wrong then accept it and don’t call me a liar because it really isn’t worth the trouble to argue it out with you. You were totally wrong in the way this was dealt with and a customer should never have to argue with a restaurant . If they say something is unsatisfactory then accept it and put it right which you on this occasion failed to. My warning to others visiting this restaurant is by all means try it the food can be good but if it’s not good don’t expect any resolution without a big argument. Your choice….

The yellow sauce that was supposed to be with the shazlik was missing. Disappointed.

I got ripped off by this place to the tune of £5.90 for a £31.95 meal today. First they didn't apply the discount of 10% they advertise for collection (15% on their web site), and then they didn't include an item which was priced at £3. One of the dishes (chicken Korma) was not marinated properly and the sauce was very watery. Otherwise the food was passable. But beware of them overcharging and check all your items before leaving the premises. Otherwise I recommend avoiding the place altogether. I will in future. I'm not happy about the daylight robbery element to say the least.

The quality of Lamb rogun was poor

This restaurant has really gone down hill. Food was watery and no flavour,bombay potato was just like hard boiled spuds with no flavour rice was ok.

Unfortunately, the driver had problems finding our address so the food was late and cold. But nothing a few minutes in the microwave didn't solve.

Delivery person called saying they couldn't find where I live, but I've ordered so many times before this can't have been true. I live in a 200 year old house on a main road with a well established address. When he did arrive the food was barely warm. The lamb bhuna was extremely tough and dry and the sauce was more oil than anything else! Really disappointed as this has been our favourite Indian restaurant since we've lived in the area, but I'm not sure I want to go again.

Had to call the restaurant to find out where our food was, he said the driver said he is 7 mins away ( the restaurant is only a 12 minute drive! )But he did apologise. It already said the delivery would be up to an hour so we already waited an hour and then it was 45 - 50 minutes late! No apology from the driver! Very annoying as it was almost 9pm when it arrived and I can’t really eat that late. Plus the food was near enough cold. Not happy on this occasion.

I used to be a regular diner at Bengal Spices, but food quality has been slipping for a long time, so I stopped going. I still try the takeaway/delivery every few months, to see if it's improved, before venturing back to eat-in. Last time I tried, a few months ago, Bombay Aloo was mush. Last night, Bombay Aloo was okay, but the meat in the Chicken Tikka Dhansak was horrendously rubbery/plastic (ie very poor quality) and the Special Mixed Rice was so full of ghee it was terrible, ditto the grease on Onion Bhajia. They really need to sort out their food quality!

Firstly you tried to delivery my order an hour early. Which I returned. You then delivered it 20 mins late and the meal was just warm.

Incredibly good quality food, great intense flavours. Samosas were delicate and delicious!

Wrong main dish received with correct name on package. Phoned restaurant and described what I had received. Told that they would send the correct one out in 10 mins. Dish eventually turned up 45 mins later. We had to eat what we had already received to not spoil this. Disappointed as we have always had a good experience with Bengal spices when eating in ordering a takeaway.

I ordered food at 18:25 food came at 20:25 when I order it said it would be 45-60 minutes!! Tried calling the restaurant but it rang and went to voicemail every time. When food finally came it was freezing cold! Didn’t enjoy it at all used to always enjoy curry from here but looks like we need to find somewhere else to order from.

the food was not good. The chicken chettinad was sweet and spicy when it should be spicy only. I wasted my 10 pounds.

Sadly I was really disappointed with my meal , no where near the standard I have learnt to expect from many many meals from these Guys . Will need to start looking for a new Indian, not much flavour and hefty price increase.

Absolutely appalling. Ordered and when it didn’t arrive I called the restaurant. I called 28 times over a 1 hour period but no one answered. I left multiple voicemails. Messages from Just Eat said that the restaurant said that my order was delivered which it wasn’t. When he finally turned up he didn’t apologise and when asked why the delay he shrugged his shoulders. 2 of the dishes were burnt. Again when I relayed this to just eat and as such the restaurant they refused to offer a refund and in essence said tough. We have ordered many times in the past and find it disgusting that they weren’t even willing to admit their poor service and quality of food. We won’t be ordering again.

Second time iv ordered from here 2 hours delivery is a joke just being 10mins away, then the order was missing the Curry off the order. I rang up and a bloke said were really busy can you come and pick it up when it was ment to be delivered to me. Have people over so every one food went cold waiting for it. Just a joke never again!!!!!

I have had this meal for the last few weeks and it has been perfect. I cannot eat any sort of spice and so this has been great until now. This time I opened my King Prawn Puri and it was so spicy I could not eat it. I have no idea why it was spicy this time but I was looking forward to how it’s been before. Was that a one off or are you making it spicy all the time now?? I don’t want to stop using you but I can’t afford to waste money or food either. Please reply.

We had our first meal here on Tuesday and it was great. Sadly we returned today and our chicken dish was not good. There was a valiant attempt to smother the dry, day old chicken in sauce but sadly it didn't work. Interestingly the website for the restaurant only allows you to read reviews, not post them. Anyway, must dash as I think the Dansak is working its way through in double quick time.
