We just wanted an over night stay, so thought the bemont would be a nice change. Clean room, lots of reviews about small bathroom, and it is small but its only for a shower etc not like its actually were you stay. Bed comfy and evening dinner really lovely, all staff very pleasant and helpful. Atmosphere good, not noisy, and happy to return again

Celebrated my son’s 18th at the cellar bar - family drinks and chat in the freshly refurbished bar. The staff were so attentive and surprised him with a dessert with a candle on top! Lovely family atmosphere.

This boutique hotel on the very edge of the town/off the A1 is quite an underrated little venue. The upstairs restaurant and rooms for venues etc are period design to match the era of the main house. This hotel has simple old fashion warmth and welcome. The food is delicious, both modern and traditional at a comfortable price. Staff appeared genuinely happy and eager to please. Darren in reception, I would guess, is more than capable of marketing this boutique hotel (he knew lots when I asked him questions) so get this great venue onto more social media! The secondary historical house on the grounds would be amazing to restore for extra bedrooms etc.

Food was quick at coming out we got a steak sandwich felt the crispy onions very salty steak was lovely other than the dish was bit to much salt, also got salmon and garlic fries salmon was lovely I take it wasn't fresh it was like frozen salmon defrosted but the garlic fries wasn't that great too much margarine sitting in it and wasn't melted through the chips couldn't eat them

The hotel building and grounds are nice and the staff are very pleasant. We stayed in room 4, which was a superior room. The room decor was good and the bed was comfortable. The carpet however, was very heavily soiled in places, which was a little off putting. This was advertised as £140 for superior bed, breakfast and dinner. This price is a little misleading as it doesn’t actually include dinner, but a £30 restaurant credit (£15 each) The food was only ok, nothing special, especially with a price tag of £32 for a steak. We definitely have had a lot better. Breakfast was also only ok. Orange juice was concentrated and watery, cooked breakfast had a very oily taste. Restaurant staff member didn’t return to check on us after it was served so didn’t have the opportunity to bring it to her attention. All in all, we had an ok stay but I wouldn’t be rushing back to stay here again.

Beautiful place our first visit. We'll the food was excellent hot We'll cooked and plenty of it fresh glazed carrots and parsnips really good cauliflower cheese I could go on. Thank you 😊

We had our wedding reception in the Belmont. Such a hidden beauty. The place is beautiful inside and out. Staff are very attentive. They are a genuine example of brilliant hospitality. The food is truly remarkable. Rooms are fabulous, luxury decor and spotless. Special mention to Jordan and Michael who helped made our special day happen. They both went over and beyond for us. We cannot thank everybody enough.

Why oh why are staff not wearing masks in the midst of a pandemic and serving food, leaning over to speak to customers when one asks a question? The food was tasty albeit just typical British/N Irish food, but the fact that there is not enough care with Covid made our lunch a tad unpleasant and quite worrying to be honest. No social distancing between staff and customers either. Eek! Also, the music played via the speakers was loud - it could be changed for instrumental or classical music which would be more in tune with the hotel and restaurant. The restaurant itself is really pretty and the gardens look amazing. But there were flies and wasps inside the restaurant! All in all, it was good but they should really re-think masks for staff when serving food as many, many other restaurants are doing throughout the UK!

hello we called in on friday for a bite to eat we plumped for two 10ounce steaks for £30 a short time later arrived our meal we chose medium rare and and cooked nicely they were soft and lean went down a treat

We chose the Belmont for a lunch for 30 people to celebrate my Mother's 100 th Birthday . We could not have chosen better. From start to finish everyone we dealt with could not have been more helpful. Lovely room , excellent menu choice,great food and service. Best of all the Belmont team -easy to work with and totally professional. They made a very special event even more special !

Living less than 30 miles from the Belmont House hotel, I thought it should nbe familiar to me. Set it wonderful leafy grounds the Manor house is very pleasing on the eye. Inside the decor is unapologetically approached to compliment the age of the house, it seems to have original windows, corniches fireplaces and door frames. The furniture also is splendid in keeping with the era and the atmosphere benefits for it. The bedrooms also benefit to the era and, although not spectacular, are more than efficient. Meals are top class and service with them excellent. I would strongly recommend this hotel, all boxes are ticked from cleanliness to services and I struggle to find a negative remark ( which annoys me highly). 5***** all the way

Sunday Lunch was fablous and even though the hotel was very busy service was excellent. Staff so welcoming and friendly. Definately will be back

Went here for Christmas dinner with family. Very good service as they were very accommodating for all our needs including young children. Waitress was super friendly and helpful. Food was good and came out fresh, albeit a little slow. Recommend if you’re looking for a nice sit down spot that beautifully decorated and peaceful.

If you are looking for a hotel in Banbridge or the surrounding area then look no further than the Belmont. Comfortable rooms, great food and super friendly staff. We stayed for four nights and will definitely stay again. A special shout out to Ernie the night porter - the craic was good!

Last Friday I had the pleasure of joining some friends at dinner to celebrate a 75th birthday and everyone enjoyed the food and service it was proper soup beef and proper pavlova

I always come to the Belmont for Dinner when I come back to Banbridge, and it is always, consistently beyond Excellent, if anything it improves time after time. We started going to it after it got taken over 5/6 (?) years ago, and at three/four visits a year that's quite a few, and never once have I ever had a meal in that time that I've been less than 100per cent happy with at the Belmont. The food itself is carefully prepared, pushing rosette standard, and Michael and his team always deliver the best service. Can't wait to visit again soon!

The Dining Room was not busy at all and we waited 25 minutes for soup. It was not warm enough. Main course was excellent. I’d recommend fish and chips or chicken goujons.

I went for a meal with friends on Wednesday 2/10/2019. It was the first time I had been there from the renovations. The decor is excellent but very comfortable - it feels like it has been returned to a lovely country house, it is very beautiful. The service was impeccable and the food was fabulous. Well done!!! You have worked miracles on the house. We will certainly be returning. Highly recommend.

The new owners have certainly changed the place around and all for the best. No a 4 star hotel rather than 2 star as before. Food is a vast improvement although the menu, I feel could be a bit better a bit more imaginative. Service, location, decor and staff all very good. Meals cooked very well and at a reasonable price

Banbridge on a Sunday at lunch we called to the Belmont Hotel not having a booking we ate in the bar, roast beef for 2 fresh veg and potatoes and the beef was good next time we will book to eat in restaurant although menu was the same

We booked the restaurant for a family of three having heard it was recently refurbished.

We had our wedding reception at the Belmont on 31st August 2019. From the first time we visited the hotel when considering a venue, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Harry, Michael, and Julie-Anne were always so helpful and thoughtful when we were in the planning stages. The function rooms have recently been refurbished and they are clean, bright and beautifully decorated. The staff did a fantastic job setting up the room, and the tables looked lovely. On the day everything went so smoothly (thanks to Harry who was the master of ceremonies). The atmosphere was fantastic, and all of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed the reception. Food was so tasty and there was lots of it! Service was really excellent - the staff were great. We had a few guests with special dietary requirements, and they were very well catered for. The grounds and hotel entrance set the scene for some fantastic wedding photos. For overnight accommodation, our room was again beautifully decorated with lots of Georgian character, and very very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious! We had an absolutely fantastic day with lots of happy memories. Thank you Belmont for helping make our day so special - it was perfect :)

Been to Belmont many times over the years for family occasions and haven't been in a few. Was looking forward to coming back but we had a Sunday lunch meal that was just not overly nice. For everyone who had the beef, the gravy was not nice and the yorkshire puddings were clearly defrosted or left out as was not like anything we ever had before (and a yorkshire pudding for Sunday dinner should be a proper one!).

Rang on Father’s Day morning to book a table and we were asked if we would like to sit in restaurant or bar. Knowing the hotel we requested to be seated in the bar as we know the hotel (had not visited in over a year) well and prefer this area to the stuffiness of the restaurant seating area upstairs. We arrived and were told there was no room in the bar and we would have to sit upstairs and was seated at the door facing reception. We sat for 20 minutes before being given menus. We then had to wait another ten minutes for someone to take our drinks order.

Went for Sunday evening meal . Seated in dining room, opulent decor , a beautiful bright room. service was good , maitre d’ was excellent , so welcoming and chatty. Our meals were all very satisfying and excellent value for money . I would have given 5 stars only the service was a little slow but it was a busy bank holiday weekend . All in all we have a really lovely family meal and we all went away happy.

Absolutely delicious ,great gluten free menu and staff more than pleasant and very friendly,will definitely be back.

My two friends and I go on a day trip every year and this year we chose the Boulevard shopping outlet followed by a really leisurely lunch at the Belmont. While we did not stay at the hotel and (I know not helpful to the reader) and we did not take any photos of lunch I had to put a few words together as I think this hotel is a gem. There was a wedding on so we could not take any outside photos but the whole feel of the hotel was lovely. The staff present in the hotel on Friday 4 May made us so welcome. We had a delicious unhurried lunch in the bar (I had steak ciabatta and profiteroles- gorgeous food - honestly). I think this would make a great base to explore Northern Ireland with quick access to a main road. Decor is contemporary and tasteful.

Very pleasant surroundings, newly refurbished and reopened. Food was excellent, if anything portions were a little on the large size but very yummy. Staff very attentive and keen to make your stay as pleasant as possible. My mum has mobility problems and they did everything to make her feel welcome and safe.

We had the Sunday Carvery today. One course £12, two courses £15 or three courses £18. Starters and desserts are served to your table and you queue up for your main course. The starters were slow to arrive. All food was good. Staff pleasant. The Carvery is served in The Linen Suite, not the main hotel restaurant.

Nice contemporary decor which suggests that this property caters particularly for the special event/wedding market. The food is good but not exceptional. The staff are extremely friendly and professsional.

We had a christmas dinner here last week,the food was lovely and just enough so that you didnt feel you couldn't eat your next course. Very quick and friendly service and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely be back.

Asa frequent traveller i like to stay in different places and get a broader knowledge of a city or country, however, The Belmont will always be my got to place when visiting Belfast.

Stayed here for one night during a business trip. The rooms are fantastic and the food was equally good, but the over-riding impression I’ll take away from my first ever visit to Northern Ireland was how fun and friendly the staff were, from the receptionist who first greeted me to the very bubbly waitress who served us both dinner and breakfast. If I’m ever back in Norther Ireland I’d definitely stay here again.

We had our wedding in The Belmont Hotel, Banbridge. Harry & his amazing staff were fantastic, everything went smoothly, everyone commented on the amazing food, superb service, beautiful hotel, grounds & fantastic location. Have been to the Belmont house hotel quit a few times this past while the hotel and food is 2nd to none outside spotless clean as u go in staff excellent turned out and manners are very high the drinks,meal and desert all served promptly the waiters and waitress in the lower bar were first class like the meal and highly adhereing to there professional training they must have had as staff can often be the let down off a business.The food was excellent piping hot veg cooked the way they should with a bite to them all in all from the cleanliness off the hotel to the meal and staff I would highly recommend anyone in the area looking good food reasonable priced to visit the Belmont house hotel Banbridge (keep up the good wrk guys and girls)

We spend an excellent lunch time at this archetypal Ulster Hotel in Banbridge, Co. Down, Northern Ireland. The food was well cooked, full of flavour and pleasantly presented - as is normal in Ulster also plentiful! It has been maybe 20 years since I was last here and the Hotel looked wonderful with the classic 18th century roots but also a contemporary twist. You wind up from the main road past a gatehouse and through some beautiful grounds. We had someone with us who had diability assess needs - no problem. Access to the buliding and facilities inside were more than adequate. Well worth a stop over for lunch, dinner or accommodation.

We’ve eaten here many times on our visits to Northern Ireland. It’s besutifully decorated. The food is good quality and nicely presented with friendly staff. Service was excellent. It’s not cheap but good value nevertheless. That also have a car very available which we have yet to sample

We recently had our wedding at the Belmont on 5/7/18. From our first meeting with Harry nothing was too much trouble. Every need was catered too from decor to music and everything in between. The food was outstanding as always as well as the service. I could not recommend Harry and his team highly enough. Delighted that we choose here for our venue.

My sister and I had dinner there last week. It was the most delicious meal we have had for a very long time. Beautifully cooked and presented piping hot. The service was second to none.

Attended today for the launch of the carvery lunch at the Belmont Hotel. The new Linnen suit was the setting for the carvery. We where met at the reception area by Chloe who brought us to are table and explained to us about the carvery, this was a very nice touch and very personnel to each party arriving. We had a beautiful lunch you can choose from 1 course to 3 courses. Very well priced for the standard which we where served. We will most defiantly be back here in the future. Well done to the management and staff on the first day of serving your carvery.

Stayed here for 2 nights while working in the area. The hotel is very grand in lovely grounds. My room was huge and very clean and comfy. Breakfast was good and the staff, in particular the guy serving breakfast were helpful.

Visited the hotel as my relatives were staying there. The hotel has just been refurbished to a very high standard. The staff are very friendly and professional. We had coffee etc in the bar area and the staff couldn't be any more helpful. There's an extensive lunch menu with many specials. Well worth visiting when in the area.

Over the past 2 weeks I’ve been to the Belmont with friends & work for Christmas dinners. On both occasions the food, service and drinks were first class. On one evening I tried the traditional turkey dinner, while on the second visit I tried the roast beef. Both meals on both nights were delicious, the service was excellent and the gin cocktails were first class... the LUST is definitely worth a try.

It’s been years from I was here and the place has been transformed from bold pallet of feature walls and butterflies to a sympathetic homage of what a house if it’s stature would have looked like. Lots of familiar faces among the staff now wiser from the years of experience . Ok enough nostalgia we were welcomed at the reception and decided to eat in the bar area where yet again we were welcomed and seated drinks served and food ordered we drank in our new surroundings very tastefully done with local art on the walls ( I’d love a Sarah Lennon hidden horse in my house) wood panelling on the walls give you that feel of taste .In no time our drinks arrived with a smile and a polite few words closely followed by our food all of which looked and indeed tasted very nice with ample portions ( I hate bare plates at the start of a meal ) as we ate we were checked and all was first rate.

Went for Sunday lunch today 22nd October with family from South of Ireland what a disappointment we ordered starters and mains, waited well over for starters to come out we had to ask twice for cutlery to be brought to table. Once we had finished starters we waited for at least another half hour before table was cleared .

Attended the wine tasting dinner last night, only one word can describe it, fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious, the wines amazing, the wine merchants extremely knowledgeable. The staff - well customer service was simply first class. Extremely well done and I can't wait to tell everyone about the brilliant night out. Thank you and looking forward to going back for dinner

A Monday night in October was never going to be the busiest time but the Belmont reminded me that here in Banbridge, it’s best to plan for an early supper as the end of summer time officially comes to a close and the clocks change back.

Luego tuvimos la oportunidad de degustar el gin preparados de varias maneras, así como el original de ginger ale y posiblemente honeycomb o hombre amarillo. Nos encanta la experiencia de té de la tarde y todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que el Belmont Hotel era la mejor calidad y el mejor valor por mucho que hemos tenido. Tiene que ser reservado con 48 horas de antelación para asegurarse de que todo está disponible. Altamente recomendado.

Have always found Belmont to be consistent and yesterday was no exception from we arrived for big family 85th Birthday celebration couldn't have been treated better great room for almost 30 of us including about 12 children who also needed a bit of space to move about. Staff were excellent throughout accommodating attentive and efficient and of course the food full works dinner all served at right time with all food from starters Salmon and Prawn to Melon or soup through main courses Roast Beef to Lamb to Chicken supreme or Sea bass through delicious desserts Pavalova sticky pudding etc all washed down with tea or coffee and refilled after cake had been cut and distributed. The food was all beautifully presented was served hot and quickly and to be honest with such a range of people there and have no issues at all was an achievement indeed. Place has all been done up and when we moved from room to main hotel after most had left the staff couldn't have been more helpful is assisting us.All in all almost perfection for what was a very special occasion well done Belmont.

I recently had my husbands 30th birthday meal in the Belmont. The newly refurbished Linen suite is perfect for private functions and meant the children could play away without disturbing other diners! The service leading up to our function and on the day was 1st class. Nothing was too much hassle! I have to give a special mention to Harry who coordinated the function and helped produce a tailored menu at my request. The food was beautiful as always and so well organized that all 29 adults and 8 children received our meals within minutes of each other. Everyone was very impressed and I will definitely hold future functions here. Thanks again.

Rubbish from start to finish food bad service bad staff rude will never be back: asked for a roast dinner got an extremely cold child's dinner : paid cos I don't want to make a seen what has happened to good hospitality

Just returned from the Belmont Hotel for a family gathering, there were 12 of us in total. My grandfather likes to book one of the private rooms and this is never a problem. We had pre booked our meals and the service was very prompt whenever we arrived. Drinks orders were taken and the meals delivered very quickly to us with no errors. I had the steak burger with garlic and parmesan fries and it was delicious. Portion sizes were just right and the food was hot. Desserts on offer were lovely. I had the sticky toffee pudding which was really tasty. The hotel has recently being going through a refurbishment cycle and it really does add to the ambience and charm, it's such a change from what it was. A big thanks to Jonto and all his staff for making our visit enjoyable. We will all be back to sample some more great food.

Was the only one in that night except for some small club next door food good to my liking price has .gone up like every where else

I stayed here for a week during a business trip, the hotel has recently been renovated and is clean and well presented; it has beautiful mature grounds ideal for weddings, business or pleasure, the food and dining is fine and 'exceptional' the staff are amazingly helpful, all credit to the management.Amar

Who knew...what a surprise. Hadn't been to the Belmont in a while, so following a rainy old day we decided to go there for dinner.First thing I noticed was that the trees were pruned & the gardens tidied & the winding driveway tarmackedThe hotel has been beautifully restored, no expense spared with plush curtains & upholstery & a bright, fresh interior design. We were seated in the dining area overlooking the gardens. Drinks were ordered - at the moment they have all the usual gins, the only one I hadn't heard of was Gunpowder Irish Gin, so had that...very nice. We ordered 2 roast chicken dinners & 1 grilled gammon, with sides - chunky chips, mashed potatoes & lyonnaise potatoes (we are potato fans) & the most delicious coleslaw. All cooked to perfection & tasty. Everything arrived as agreed when ordered. People close to us had Prosecco with strawberries - I'll have that the next time as I couldn't resist the Australian Pinot Grigio. Their steak dinner looked amazing - will have that the next time too. We didn't have starters or desserts on this visit.The owner Jonto was very charming & told us about the ongoing plans they have for the hotel. All the dining areas are in the process of being renovated & the period features restored which adds to the unique character of the hotel. In particular I am looking forward to the gin palace & cocktail bar opening in the basement bar. Just 1 wee thing - the Club tonic was fine but gin drinkers are just as choosy about the tonic & like a choice of brand - Fever-tree, Thomas Henry. Really impressed with the hotel & would recommend. Only it is so close to home, it would be lovely to spend a couple of nights here with its upmarket old world charm. Hey ho, might just stay the next time...

Nice place with great grounds. Staff were very friendly and helpful, lunch menu didn't have much choice so I tried the Lasagne, more pasta in it than meat and the taste was bland. Still enjoyed lunch because of the staff,the surroundings, and the company but I've had better food from the supermarket.

I enjoyed a very pleasant stay at The Belmont Hotel in early November in spite of extensive refurbishing work going on. Staff are all extremely hospitable, warm, friendly and so helpful. A good selection of food was available throughout the day - however, breakfast was fairly basic. This review is based very much on what I except from the hotel when the very exciting refurbishment is complete - room plans are on view in the foyer. Everyone involved is so enthusiastic about the lovely hotel that will be unveiled in the next few months that I hope to visit after Christmas to spend a leisurely couple of nights there and would hope by then to give it 5 stars - unless price's go through the roof!!!

Our venue was held in the nightclub area and the renovations that have been done are fab! The staff were very friendly and helpful but the service seemed to be quite slow and I would personally prefer for the main to be plated up before serving as the food was cold by the time our table got served. Food was ok, meat was quite dry and cheesecake was flavourless. It was a pity but still had a great evening with the band and dance floor

Dining with 4 adults and 1 child on a sunday evening and it was a very pleasent experience. On arriving we were very warmly greeted and seated promptly. I had the steak pitta while the others had steaks and my little 1 had the usual chicken nuggets from the kids menu. The food was fab nicely presented and hot. The staff were friendly and could not do enough for us. We will def return again soon

Attended recent function which was a very poor experience from start to finish.Service was really slow, Soup was served with no soup spoons. Main course Roast Beef was although very tender portion was small. Vegatables were very tasty but roast potatoes where almost impossible hard to cut through, well over cooked. Again service was very slow from young staff but pleasant. Childrens portions of Chicken nuggets x 4 and skinny chips was small portion for many of the young people attending childrens dessert was a small tub of ice cream? Adults deserts where ok.Tea/ Coffee was served with no spoons with no one checking with the tables to see if everything was ok. This outlet has gone down hill dramatically from my last visit and really needs urgent attention. Toilets where cold and locks broken on cubicle doors.

Had my son's christening here, as we're from Australia everything was done via email. The spread of food was great and the setting comfortable (we had 80 or so attend). Would happily recommend them to hold a function.

On Saturday 3rd September my wife and I went to the Belmont for lunch.We were seated in a pleasant dining room and given menus. I asked for the wine list and a man came and asked did we want a quarter bottle or bottle of wine.I advised a bottle. He then asked did we want red rose or white, I said I wanted a wine list . He then started to mumble the red wines on the list , Istiopped him and asked do you have a wine list to which he replied it s downstairs in the bar and I thought this would be handier!!!!He strode of and returned with a list and through it along the table in front of me and walked away¬¬¬My wife and I left and there was no one in reception.We went to the Downshire in Banbridge and had a great lunch and a nice bottle of wine(£20)The next day I wrote to the Manager of the Belmont re this.There has been no reply. Hence this notice

The staff here are amazing and so friendly. And my meal was very tasty chilli chicken with seasame seeds. Highly recommend

The Belmont Hotel has been a stalwart for good food in the Banbridge area for many years. It was recently bought over by the same partnership that now own the Halfway House (Dromore) and Harry's Bar (Banbridge). The hotel or menu have not changed much since the change of ownership which will please the many frequent diners and locals.You can choose to dine in the downstairs bar which is a pleasant comfortable area or you can order your food in the bar area and then be guided to your table in the elegant main restaurant. There are other dining rooms should you wish to host a private party.Service is always good but on this visit we just didn't get the attentive service that always made you feel that your enjoyment was the servers goal.We choose to eat in the bar area and dispense with the more fine dining experience.The bar was quiet with only two other tables eating so service was quick.There was a wide selection on the menu to cater for most tastes.The prices have noticeably increased since the hotel was bought over but they are still in the average bracket for such an establishment.The food was good, as expected, portion size is more than sufficient, both exactly what is expected from this chain of pubs/restaurants.

A great hotel for a special lunch or dinner. The staff are welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The quality and value of food is excellent

Having been to The Belmont many times we returned again this week only to be terribly disappointed with the menu on offer and the standard of sweets. The vegetables for the mains weren't our desired taste and we ask for a substitute but none appeared on the plates. Funny that there were other vegetables available with other mains would it have been so hard to use these ???The sweets were the size of a kids portion and certainly not homemade as amongst us was a chef who was able to confirm this! I hope things improve as there are so many other places in Banbridge with a better standard of menu/food/value for money and it would be a shame to see the Belmont lagging behind!

I don't have a bad word to say about this restaurant. I make a point of treating myself to a meal in the downstairs bar at least once a fortnight. The new menu that has recently been put in place has a great selection catering for all needs. I treated myself to a steak on my last visit and it has to be one of the best steaks iv ever had. The staff are very pleasant and approachable when it comes to the menu and questions about it always accommodating changes were possible. I would highly recommend this place and I can't wait for my next visit

Very disappointed , quality of food poor, service slow, staff pleasant . This is the first time I have ever sent a meal back . Looked like the chef had phoned in sick and the night porter doing he cooking . Not value for money , atmosphere lovely as always in Belmont . Would need to improve or will not be back as this is second time we have had a poor experience . On a positive , I was not charged for the meal that was not eaten .

Been to the Belmont 4 or 5 times now and it never disappoints. This time I went for the 24oz steak which I though would be a challenge, but it was cooked rare and to perfection, so it went down easily. This restaurant has a broad selection to choose from and all reasonably priced. Staff couldn't be more friendly and it does the best steaks and mixed grills in the area. Give it a try.

Myself and partner, along with another couple enjoyed a nice meal here on Friday night in the downstairs bar. I really liked the atmosphere in this area and have visited several times in the past. I had a burger, as usual when I eat out, and was not disappointed. Reasonably priced food and drinks in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Atmosphere and decor very nice, however the service was average and for the price the food was below par. Portions generous but not great quality and I would not recommend - there are better restaurants in Banbridge, personally for a similar occasion I would choose the Downshire.

food in here is amazing great portions and great service. the food maybe a lil pricey but we'll worth it. there is a few food eating places in the hotel. there's the restaurant and then the bar food. we would always go for bar food. would eat here regularly.

Have visited on many occasions and was always excellent. Visited Sunday evening and waited 45minutes on meal being cooked and received a portion of eight individual chips? This was out of character for this hotel so maybe there was a change of chef for the evening? Excellent waiting staff and meal was fine otherwise. Would return.

Came here about six months ago for a bar meal with my family, chose the vegetarian option of spring rolls as there was not many other choices. Greasy spring rolls. Cold champ. Not impressed. Mixed grill appeared really fatty and poor quality. Needs a new lease of life.

Used, to be the number one spot for weddings and the place to be seen back in the 70/80s,but sadly has lost its charm and appeal, very run and outdated down these days........

Variety of food, with good-sized portions. Located in a gorgeous setting, away from the noise of the town centre. Car park available. However we did have about 5/6 people collecting orders and serving us which was a downside. Worth it for a meal with family or as a couple.

Got the best steak menu, my friend had a massive fillet steak which was gorgeous, he had trouble finishing it! We sat in the studio bar. Nice staff, quick service. I had the mixed grill which was the best I ever had. Plenty of different potato sides.

We've eaten here numerous times on trips to Northern Ireland. The food is consistently good, but the ambience is stunning. They have ample space to accommodate large parties of 20 or more, which our gatherings often are. Plenty of options for adults and kids. Food is pretty good (not the most delicious in the area). But for the beautiful space, lush green garden, gorgeous building, and ability to accommodate a large party, this place is a great option!!!

Stayed here on 20th June 2015, have to say I'm shocked this place has not got more stars! The staff were friendly, warm, welcoming and happy to help, the hotel had beautiful period features with a modern twist which gave a warm and homely feeling, yes there is a nightclub onsight but staff do state this when booking and tbh we didn't hear much noise from it unless the window was open and it wouldn't have bothered us even if we could, the rooms were clean and well equipped and breakfast was delicious and they even brought it to our room for no extra charge! We like it so much I've booked again for my husbands birthday!!

I went with my Partner went for dinner and we did not have a booking so where placed down stairs at the bar. I find the hotel lovely normally but this time we where sat at a table right beside the stairs. We found it very bad as the table was broke and it wobbled quite bad. Also the server wasn't very helpful at all. Food was ok however i have had better. I was very disapointed with this.

My son and I visited the Belmont for lunch. The service was very good in pleasant environment. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food came quickly which met our deadlines

This restaurant has been around for a long long time. We visited this hotel restaurant on a previous visit to Northern Ireland about 30 years ago. We went for a Sunday lunch and there are two options - a set menu with three courses (each course has choices), and a standard but quite limited menu. The atmosphere in this old hotel is quite lovely with high doors and very high ceilings. The place was full but not noisy, service was quite rapid (which one would expect with a set menu) and the price was very reasonable. Two of us had lamb and it was excellent. There was plenty of free parking.

Have been several times recently after being elsewhere for eating out . Minute steak superb along with side order, more like a large rib eye ,beautifully cooked and lean.

The meal I had was great.The batter on my chicken nuggets was so crispy and the chicken was really tender.The potatoes were the best in the whole meal.If your a potato fan like myself then you should really come.The potatoes were smooth and creamy and not one lump found and that is the gods honest truth.For chicken nuggets potatoes and beans it was only £4.99.Afterwards I got chocolate fudge cake,and as you probably guessed it was amazing.

Well, this is my second review, a year ago after having lunch with my daughter she chose this venue for her wedding, and all I can say is, it was amazing, the room for the ceremony was very well layed out and seated 50 guests adequately. After a short civil service and some beautiful photos on the grounds we entered the reception area where mulled wine and shortbread were served, the venue looked stunning and the tables were decorated to a very high standard, the master of ceremonies did a great job of the order of the evening and the food was absolutely outstanding I have never tasted better, the service staff were excellent and very quick everybody ate at the same time and the food was plentiful and hot. And should be commended, I couldnt of wished for a better day and evening and the DJ was great getting everybody on the dance floor, a very memorable day was had by all and the belmont hotel did my daughter and her new husband proud. Looking forward to going back for lunch to say thankyou

Have dinned here three / four times a year and have found the food to be of a high standard and a reasonably priced

Great venue first of all - v stately looking from outside & tastefully decorated within. Service & food were mostly good, especially considering we were a large group, and the wine was of a decent quality. My only complaints were that my salmon main was marred by butter overload - alongside the fried garlic cubes the dish was too greasy. And the side portions of champ ordered by my friends were clearly way too big - enough for at least 2 people each. When I asked the waitress if they'd noticed they were coming back not even half eaten she brushed it off with an "I'll mention it" sans eye-contact - food waste not a concern here it seems. And regrettably the exit was marred by drunk teens shouting & loitering while police looked on, thanks to the adjoining nightclub - arrive & leave early if you want to avoid this.

My Wife and 2 kids had a meal in the Bar on a Saturday evening , special deal in Autumn for 2 people , 2 minute steaks with all the trimmings and sauce for £25.00 , this was excellent value for my wife and I and quality , kids enjoyed their meals also and a great atmosphere and pleasant staff
