Ordered a children's goujon meal the chios may as well been crisps ,so hard I thought they were going to choke me the chicken goujons were two wee strings of chicken each battered thickly so chicken was so little and thick battered I thought I was just eating batter , photos to show what I mean will follow When I telephoned to complain reply was as quoted,," they're new potatoes you expect new potatoes to be crispy all chippies are having the same problem ,"🤣🤣🤣🤣 geg couldn't even sincerely apologise Need been before will Keverne be back The garlic mayo was lovely tho

We bought 2 chips after visiting the cinema to eat walking home,the chips were mostly hard some burnt I have never had anything like it from any other chip shop in the area I will never buy from there again. At £3.75 each is disgraceful. We had to through them away.

Terrible food, very small portions, don’t waste your time or money. Very expensive for food that we had to throw in the bin…

This used to be the best fish and chip shop in East Belfast, Sadly no longer. I ordered a Cod Supper. Don't know what the fish was but doubt it was cod. A thinly cut and flavourless slice of something greasy accompanied by soggy limp chips. Still, no waste as I have a dog. A dear dinner for him mind you and back to cheese on toast for me.

This chip shop used to do great chips with decent portions and fresh northern Irish potatoes. I called in for a portion of chips today and got a children’s sized portion for the regular price and the potatoes were not fresh. I can get much better elsewhere and better value.

Had 3 gorgeous cods (massive!) tonight with my family. They were so flaky and just fell apart on the fork, beautiful! Will definitely be back! Very pleasant staff also! All full of smiles, nice to see!

Called in tonight around teatime, got a cod and a chicken burger. The Bethany was recommend to me by a couple of friends (I live in Bangor) so I travelled over to see what the fuss was about and can say I will be back. Really enjoyed

I had previously praised this chippy as best in Ireland and UK but visited at 515pm today and will never return my chips and fish were disgusting

I ordered a fish supper along with a pastie supper and they were devine, especially the fish. There was no excess oil which you get from a lot of chippys. The chips were also to die for and my bf loved the curry sauce! The delivery was also early. Very happy with my order and I will be sure to return :)

Very dissapointed. Was awful and unedible. Will never be back. Pastie and sausage not cooked but burnt outside. Fish over cooked. Batter not cooked. How does that happen. I will not be back

Called for a collection, two Cod Suppers. The chips were obviously made with new potatoes and should have been great, but they were covered in a fine grit as if they hadn’t been washed properly and they were also very greasy. The Cod was the biggest disappointment there was one small strip of actual fish the rest was batter. I have been using The Bethany for years, but I’m afraid from now on I’ll use some where that is not resting on its reputation.

Brilliant customer service along with a very tasty meal for the family. I got the cod which was good in size. Got he chicken strips also along with the most most amazing garlic dip. One of Belfast’s finest chippies.

Enjoyable meal. Great attitudes from staff. Come here often for myself and my partner. 5 star :) :) .

Recently called in to get my son a sausage meal. Waited about 15-20 min after my order and called back to collect. Seen that the sausage was in the heater and due to one (rather slow to speed) elderly woman serving I had to wait another 15+ min for it to be boxed up!! Two younger members of staff just dilly dallying about and didn’t have the common sense to jump on and help her. One of the younger staff (a boy) was actually just standing eating in the middle of the shop and the girl laughing telling him to move out of the view of the cameras. Waiting over half an hour for an average kids meal is a joke!! Definitely won’t be back and I’ll be taking my custom else where

This has to be one of the best fish and chip shop in East Belfast. The food is top class and the fish so fresh. The staff are the icing on the cake with a friendy attitude. Keep up the good work and I look forward to my next fish supper.

I had the nicest cod I have had in a long time. Well cooked and the batter was lovely also. The wife also had a juicy chicken fillet burger. They do the best chicken fillet burgers around. Add whatever toppings and dressings you want.

Had friends over and got a delivery and have to say it was the nicest one ever. Delivery driver was kind also. Definitely be ordering again.

Cant get over the size and preparation that goes into their burgers! Wouldn't go to any other chippy, food is always great and always a lovely atmosphere whether going into the restaurant or getting a delivery! Very well run chippy!

Ordered dinner tonite from bethany belmont rd good delivery service very quick and driver polite and good customer service the food was very warm when it arrived good portions of food and the fish is delisious and the prices are quite reasonable and the staff are very good at there job I will be giving my custom to them more often

Called in last night for a diablo burger it was amazing, massive chicken burger in a fresh brioche bun, definitely recommend its a must try. Staff were very pleasant and the place is very clean. Will most definitely be back soon.

Popped in for lunch the other day and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered a fish supper and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Really tasty. Good sized portion, quick service and friendly staff. Highly recommend. Definitely be back again sometime soon

as fish and chips go its hard to beat this one. fresh, non-greasy, wide menu options. can be busy but they are very efficient.

So we arrived at least one hour before closing time and wanted to order a few things. Unfortunately, about half of the menu wasn’t available because they turn their “things off at quarter to”. What way is this to run a business? Very disappointing.

Voy a esta tienda de chips especialmente para la salsa de pollo sin embargo, rara vez está disponible. Esta noche incluso se me permitió pedir, pagar y esperar 10 minutos antes de que me dijeran que no quedaba y tuve que cambiar mi orden. Los goujons de pollo también se pueden dejar de lado y terminar empapados.

Después de esperar más de media hora en mi pedido y preguntar por qué otras personas que vinieron después de mí recibieron su pedido primero, la respuesta fue "es la forma en que sale de la sartén". Otras personas en la misma posición que yo había pedido en línea o por teléfono también se sentaron y esperaron en su pedido retrasado. Luego, la joven que hacía mi pedido preguntó si quería sal y vinagre. Dije "no gracias" para obtener una respuesta "él es tan descarado" cuando ella se volvió para obtener una parte de mi pedido. Nunca he sido testigo de tan mal servicio. Nunca volveré.

Pedimos el almuerzo del Bethany recientemente para un grupo de media docena. Mientras que la Betania era la favorita cuando vivía en la zona, esta fue mi primera comida desde allí en varios años y no hay duda de que la preparación de los alimentos ha cambiado durante ese tiempo.

Llamo aquí en 5º de noviembre de 2017 fue alrededor de 7. 50:00 pm pedí salchichas y patatas fritas. Las patatas fritas eran asquerosas estaban heladas y las salchichas no estaban mucho mejor. He ido muchas veces y aquí desde el nuevo personal, que fuimos cuesta abajo.

En nuestra mente, la mejor comida para llevar de Fish and Chip en East Belfast, donde su Fish Super comido en Cairburn Park con una botella fría de coca en un agradable día de verano es para morirse! Sus empanadas y cebollas fritas francesas también son deliciosas, ya que su masa es crujiente y ligera.

Recientemente visité la sucursal Newtownards road normalmente nos habrían visitado la sucursal cregagh y la comida no está mal a veces mejor que otros. Pero decidimos un cambio para visitar esta rama. Qué decepción enorme. Pedimos 2 cenas y 2 latas pastie. Cuesta £10. 90. Las empanadas probado como si fueran recalentados, y las patatas fritas eran un desastre. Sólo unos pocos chips de tamaño adecuado y muchos estaban crujientes, insípida, pequeña, que en ningún sobras buena chips sería objeto de dumping. Sin duda no volveremos allí. Incluso el personal casi ignorante. La mujer que nos sirve para tomar apenas hablaba sólo el orden y tomar el pago. Ella está los cubiertos en la mesa, el juego de las bebidas y permitamos y casi nos tiró una de nuestras comidas sin una palabra. Muy mal servicio.

Quizás la palabra encubierta es un poco dura, pero eso es cómo me sentía. Fuimos algo. Para el almuerzo, así que pedí el menú entre 10. 00 y 4. 00 pidieron un chip de salchichas y frijoles y te dan un zumo con ella. Esperé por 10 minutos y finalmente llegó con lo que yo describiría como una pila de granos en el fondo de un cartón de patatas fritas y una salchicha de unos pocos no me preguntaron si quería sal y vinagre dijo aquí el amor. Este me costo más. £4. 00. Estoy realmente molesto. Estos precios son ridículos. . Lo que ha sucedido a esta "fish and chips". Nunca más.

Una vez pedí un pescado, calle 4 salchichas y un pastie y me cobraron 18 libras! ! Dos semanas más tarde, a 2 salchichas por £2. 30! ! Ambas ocasiones fueron para salir y los precios en el menú así que podían cobrar lo que sea. Envuelta en papel frágil no una bandeja, muy decepcionado.

Estoy opinando según el de Woodstock road. Este "fish and chips" solía ser mi favorito, y sin entrar con los niños después de la escuela y su pescado crujiente, que era el mejor de Belfast. Ahora, esto fue hace 6 años, avance rápido hasta el último año. . Han aumentado sus precios. así que no me he ido y el pescado no era tan sabrosa. Hasta ahora, los precios no aparecen en la tabla de menú, posiblemente frente a disfrazar precios exorbitantes, en mi opinión engañosa. Un montón de rincones de cortar aquí y no tener relación calidad-precio. Los cambios que he visto son drásticos, estudiaba, pescado, los precios no los precios en el menú y que he desechado bandejas para comida seca. No volveré.

Recently had lunch special, sausage chips and a can. Initially thought it was expensive at £4.25 as usually £3.50ish in other places. When I got it there was only one sausage, so very overpriced. Food was ok, nothing outstanding.

The if you are going to the Bethany on the woodstock be prepared for a long wait, service is dreadful, foods good when you eventually get it

I visited here last night at the Newtownards Road branch. Great signage and it's brilliant you can sit in in a proper restaurant or takeaway, which was my choice. There was a small queue and the chips were well worth the wait. Going to sit in and have a fish supper soon!!

I was a bit surprised at the number of negative reviews Bethany has received - I can only share my experience. Needed to grab a quick meal on the run and decided to sit in at their small (6-seater) table-counter. The food was all freshly cooked, the staff were pleasant, the price was about average and in the short time we were there they served over a dozen varied orders, which strikes me as pretty efficient. Won't win any prizes but didn't warrant any complaints.

I've visited the Bethany both on the Newtownards road and Belmont , Sit in and take away I mostly order the chicken strips , on my travels they have to be the best so far with the house sauce ! I have tried the pasties and fish all good quality and very tasty sometimes It takes a while as they are cooked fresh but well worth the wait ! Staff are good and place is spotless !Well worth a visit if your in the area :-)

I purchased some chips tonight thinking you couldn't go wrong with a chip, how wrong was I. The chips were discusting. They certainly weren't freshly made. I don't know what sort of potatoes were used. They almost looked like small overcooked potato wedges. I heard the young girl behind the counter ask the older English girl what sort of potatoes they were as they must have looked different to her. The English girl mentioned something about being really busy on the 1st July and something about the potatoes were finished and they got different ones. It has really put me off ever going back again. Also had to wait quite a while for two chips that weren't freshly made and only one person in front of me.

Bethany takes the word 'chips' to the extreme... Don't go there expecting a tasty portion of nicely cut potatoes freshly cooked to perfection or at least a reasonable standard.I had been a customer of Bethany in various places over many years but after a few bad experiences where they tend to like to overcook their food possibly whilst they arent paying attention to whats being made between chatting sessions.Unfortunately i decided to go back today for a bag of chips, what could go wrong? Well, They were chips alright but not as we know it. What i opened in my bag resembled small pebble size pieces, very thinly cut and cooked so you couldn't even eat them.£2.75 for a bag of remnants which are usually scooped from the fryer and dumped in my opinion, I would avoid this place.

This is a renowned local takeaway with a small "eat-in" counter. Your food is cooked in front of you while you wait so it can't get fresher. Their cod is simply superb ! They do burgers and other take away food, but people queue up just to get fish and chips. Polite and pleasant staff.

I rang at 5pm! And after three phone calls they told me they might be able to deliver by 7.30pm!?!? Couldn't they have mentioned this on the phone? Wouldn't you imagine there would be some apology? I will spread the word as far as I can - seriously disgruntled by the caveman approach to customer service

Got my order took by a young girl which was absolutely fine then an older lady took over to cook my order, when I received my order I took it to the sit in to eat it opened it up and to find my chicken fillet burger burnt to a crisp and the chicken inside snapped in half. Im absolutely disgusted and will never be back to eat in any of their restaurants again it shouldn't take over a half an hour to cook a chicken fillet burger.

If you want a delivery order it early takes some time to come. So order it a while before hand. They are very busy,place is nice and clean friendly staff, yes you have to wait for your order but you know your getting your food fresh that is the main thing.would I eat here again, most definitely :)

recently refurbished chip shop. clean interior with new and extended menu. Love the chicken strips, very good value and come with some chips and a dip, one portion would nearly do two people. Also can't beat a cod supper, best around. Be prepared for a wait though at peak time ie Friday tea time.

The food in here is lovely but you will wait at least 20 mins, even if you just want a chip. Its a pity as I really like it but i usually avoid due to the long wait

very, very slow!!! Put order in for delivery at 5pm - arrived at 6.10 pm. and they're only 5 minutes away! Don't use if you're in a hurry.

having recently moved to East Belfast I must say the Bethany on the Belmont Road was a great find! Their monster burgers are a must try for all and their chips are fab

This by far is the nicest out of the chain. Chips are proper fluffy chips and the chicken burgers are amazing. Great value for money and thoroughly enjoyable. Staff are very courteous too!

A really good little Fish and Chip Shop on the Belmont Road not far from The Belmont Tower (National Trust). The food is excellent and there are 4 chairs so that you can sit in and eat if you want to. They have an excellent reputation for their unique batter mix and this is obvious once to try the food!.
