Great pub friendly atmosphere great if you want to watch sports they got it dancing in the other bar and a cracking restaurant upstairs.

Food was amazing. Hot, good portion tasted fantastic and staff attentive and warm But had really loud music on like a disco and this wasn't a main bar. Also was fairly empty except for one bloke letting his toddler run screaming around the place, annoying others. Was going to stay for drinks otherwise. It's a really lovely building but I noticed as well that the dress code was really below par.

Haven’t a clue who is managing the booking system. Our table was booked for 6:15pm. Some people arrived around 5:55pm and by 6 they were pushing to know when the rest were arriving. By 6:10 they were pushing us to order as the kitchen was closing at 7 and the chef wanted the orders in. We had to order ahead of the rest arriving. They arrived at 6:15pm and the staff were insisting they were late. Literally felt rushed as soon as we arrived. I’m not dead on time stamps but if they’re being militant on time then I’ll state the times precisely. Also, the meals were £28 for two courses when on a normal menu it equates to £21.50. Terrible service. Will not be going again.

Lovely staff. Very polite and helpful. Food was lovely and plenty of it. Much improved from my last review. Will go again for sure. Update: we've been back loads of times and every time it's been great!! Keep up the good work Bellevue team. Update: 24 Mar 2024 - set two course menu. For was still nice, but for one course £19.99 which is a fair bit more than what we would've paid a few months ago. Still a pleasant experience.

Been a good few times food is always excellent, as our staff couldn't beat it 1 of the best all-around. Value for money as well if you haven't tried there food your missing out.

Had Sunday dinner here last week. Two courses for £23.95. Excellent value and the food was top notch! We hadn’t booked but luckily managed to squeeze us in. Also ate here just before Christmas, the festive burger was lovely. Would definitely recommend.

Was here for the first time on Wednesday Night. The place is lovely and clean. The food was lovely and decent size portions. They also offer Gluten free options which was great as my partner is cealiac The staff were very friendly and very attentive will definitely be back again soon.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, but the food was bland, I was talked into going here as I stopped eating there many years ago for the same reason, for me it has not changed, so I guess it will never change, and microwave Apple Pie yuck to follow.

Hadn't been to the place in maybe 20 years as I live out of the country but overhead someone saying good things about it. I have to say I was expecting better. The restaurant is nicely laid out and staff 👌 I have to say though the food let it down a bit. My wife's chicken gouijons In batter and our chips and garlic potatoes could have been cooked a bit longer whereas my seabass, although nice enough was overcooked. Reasonably priced but would necessarily rush back.

Waited over 30 minutes for drinks when they came they were flat,no one came to check on us to see how everything was, when leaving to pay the bill we were given the wrong bill and paid for that bill to them be told it was in orrrrct and still had more to pay, with all the inconvenience we were offered one desert to take away considering there was 5 of us, the manager wasn’t much help and all the staff seemed under trained and laxadaisy,won’t be back

Great place ,staff were very welcoming had quick drink downstairs in bar ,then upto the restaurant where we had booked a table for the 3 of us,great views as we were lucky to have a window seat ,again great customer service I had the garlic mushrooms with salad which was very good portion tasted great,and had the turkey ham roast with mash vegetables and roast potatoes, gravy which was lovely too highly recommend if in the area.many thanks.😉❤️

Great friendly staff. Say at the wrong table at first. Maybe too many staff, often lined up close to our table and felt like we were being watched while eating. Plates removed very quickly. Asked for the bill but wasn't told just to go to the bar and pay for it, sat for ages waiting and had to ask again. Good was delicious!

We went here for a family meal a few days after my grandad’s funeral. The food was really lovely and the portions were great for the price, we had the Sunday menu £20 for starter and main course. The customer service was great, the staff were very attentive and really friendly and nice to deal with. We really enjoyed our meal. The only issue was that a party of around 22 people were sat behind us and were very loud and boisterous, it made it difficult to hear each other and ruined the atmosphere a bit. If parties of that size had been seated in a private function room or something like that it would have solved that problem, but we can’t fault the food, the prices, or the service we received, it was great.

Had lunch there today, all the food was beautiful as usual, and really reasonably priced.

Lovely place, went there with my partner and they were very accommodating of us being on the autism spectrum. Service was incredible, so attentive and friendly. The food was a bit expensive but you got so much, it was nice. It’s a cute aesthetic little place with nice lighting/views

Went here with my partner and had a great time! The food was a bit expensive but everything was delicious and the cocktails were amazing and they don’t over-ice them either (Classic mojito and mixed berry bramble pictured). The staff are all so friendly too; our servers were Maria and Chantelle and they were the sweetest ladies ever <3.

Food just really let the place down, from chicken caesar to gammon, nothing felt cooked right, nor did it really feel fresh after being over cooked. For the price there's loads of better quality out there sadly.

Always loved the Bellevue but unfortunately the menu no longer caters well for vegetarians/vegans. Was there last night and there was literally one option for me, a veggie burger only suitable for vegetarians not vegans. I asked the waitress if there was anything else I could have, she asked the chef and he said “No” so a veggie burger it was! They used to do a really nice vegetable lasagne and mushroom stroganoff. It seems very lazy to have one vegetarian item on the menu in this day and age, no vegan option. Also no lift so my friend had to take my son out of the buggy and lift him up the stairs whilst I carried up the very heavy pram. Service was good and food arrived promptly.

Great place for food and a drink it's old style pub with loads of atmosphere

We were early for our table, waiting on 2 others. The waitress actually gave us a warning that if the other 2 didn't arrive soon the kitchen was closing. Our table was booked for 6.15 because I was advised that the kitchen closed at 7pm. We received the 'warning' at 6.10pm as the other 2 guests were arriving. Not a very nice welcome and delivered sternly. The restaurant was incredibly noisy. Very hard to have a conversation. The food was excellent and served very promptly but even the 20 year olds with us complained about the general noise.

Called in on a spur of a moment for lunch. We were seated very quickly. Staff very friendly. Food didn't take long coming after ordering. Absolutely delicious. Unfortunately didn't have a dessert as was too stuffed 😤 Will definitely go back again.

I was there with my family, my sister's 60th, so about 12 of us, the staff where great friendly and very helpful, got seated right away, drinks ordered and menu's were given. Everyone had something different and we waited, for the food to come , one by one everyone's food came , then mine arrived, I had ordered The Bellybuster burger, without cheese as I hate the stuff, I watched as my food was put down Infront of me and guess what , it had cheese on it, so I said to the waitress about the cheese and it was taken away, so after what seemed like an age my order came, by now I was so hungry I would have eaten the shoe off my foot!!! But I can honestly say it was great worth the wait.

The perfect place for " ladies who Lunch " Hadn't been there in 15 yrs, wasn't disappointed, everything was A1. Apart from the weather, .... Nothing they could have done about that. will definitely be back Soon.

Firstly, the service was pretty good. The area doesn't offer much unless you go into Belfast itself. Upstairs restaurant was drafty, quite cold and the roof was leaking in at least 2 places. Not particularly inviting but not the worst. We ordered the steak sandwich. The chips and sauce were perfect as was the chiabatta but the steak, although tasty, was most fat and grizzle than actual meat. Not too expensive but I doubt we would come back.

The inside is not for couples as it has big tables and booths. But I must say that the food was great.

They found us a table on a busy Saturday night without prior booking. The meal was lovely and staff very friendly.

Hi, Went to Bellevue arms restaurant for my elderly mum's birthday. Just like to say we bad a beautiful meal at a very inexpensive price. The staff were very helpful and the ambience very welcoming and I would recommend to anyone without hesitation!!

Absolutely amazing food, really nice restaurant to dine in, it’s not a smart casual place but more of a relaxed family restaurant plus the waitress who took our orders was fantastic, (she was young-Black hair, maybe late teens, I didn’t get her name) but she was very polite well mannered and very professional at her job and really caring to every need, definitely needs some recognition for her job - I’d recommend this place over and over again, down side, it did get a bit nippy to the end of our time there, as if the heating had been switched off, but it could of just been because of the weather outside, but definitely a 10/10. Highly recommend.

This place had a lovely atmosphere about it and the staff were warm and freindly. I ordered the vegetarian lasagne not expecting very much as this restaurant is more “meat with veg” dishes but I was very pleasantly surprised. It was the nicest vegetarian lasagna I have ever had and the garlic potatoes on the side were delicious also. I would definitely recommend this. Portions were large also.

We went to the Bellevue for Sunday lunch an I have to say the place does look well, but that’s were it ends. It has been many years since I was last there and it will be many more years before I go back. The restaurant was full an the staff were plenty but doing nothing when we ask for a drink we were told go get it yourself as they were to busy serving the food. This I done and when I got to the bar there were 5 staff standing there doing nothing. When we food came it was nice but the side orders were not, the chips were cooked to quick and were hard so were the garlic potatoes. The veg was presented in small bowls but it looked like the left overs that were scraped together. The side dishes should never have left the kitchen in that state. The children got even larger chips they were under cooked too. An were left on the plate. All in all the food was let down by simple issues and the service poor. If you want well cooked food go else where.

Went here after a recommendation. Glad I did . Very friendly accommodating staff. Very reasonably priced menu . Tables were very spacious. Food was absolutely 1st class nothing could be faulted. Will definitely be making a return visit.

Very disappointed with our experience tonight in the Bellevue. Firstly I asked if I could order something from the normal a la carte menu but was told no. Then I ordered the lamb shank to be told they had none left. I also asked for some tobacco onions but they apparently don't do them on a Sunday ??? I then ordered banoffee pie for dessert and my son wanted chocolate fudge cake but alas they said the chocolate cake was finished. The waiter then returned to say that they had run out of banoffee. We left feeling very disappointed that from such a limited menu, they were unable to provide several things on the menu. This is the first time I haven't tipped after my meal and it is not a reflection on the table staff but rather a problem with the organisation and management of such a busy restaurant. The Sunday menu is limited enough, never mind not having several items on the menu. I won't be rushing back.

Went to the Bellevue arms for some lunch after not being here in years. I have to say i was not disappointed. Once we sat down and got our menus i looked to see there was no vegan options but after speaking to a member of staff who was more than helpful, i was presented with 3 options. I choice the veggie fajitas and was not disappointed ! There was so much food i couldn't finish it all ! The food is really delicious but the only comment i would make is for the restaurant to add the vegan / veggie options to their menu. Can't wait to return.

Just had worst breakfast ever, burnt potato and overcooked bacon. Sent back the rock hard egg to receive an even worse one. Left without finishing after finding hair under the bacon, paid the bill and waitress must have been to embarrassed to ask if everything was okay, it's a pity theres no option to give a 0 rating, save yourself a headache and make the 5 minute trip down the Antrim Road to Nouvelle Cuisine/The fort.

Me and my mother in law visited here on a spur of the moment decision for lunch. Neither of us had eaten here in years and we weren't disappointed. We sat in the restaurant at a table beside the window and were served by a very polite member of staff. We both ordered lasagne, chips and coleslaw and we both cleaned our plates. The food was delicious, couldn't fault it. The desserts looked amazing too. And the toilets were clean and tidy. I have already recommended the Bellevue to friends and family and will be returning.

Used to come here 2-3 times a week food became poor then left it a few months and came back food back to normal! Anyway we rang one Sunday 2nd July to be precise we wanted to get a booth we always do this the girl said yes no problem I repeated defiantly a booth she said yes ! We drove the whole way there got there it was fairly busy ...waited to be took to a table the waitress asked have u booked to which I said yes booked a booth she said sorry there's none left, I said I booked it ! and she said we can never guarantee a booth I asked her why didnt she tell us this on the phone and whoever told us obviously give the wrong information, complete waste of time for us to travel to here and complete in competence of staff ! Big disapointment for what use to be our regular!

Had a lovely breakfast in this new little place, part of the Bellevue Arms. There's only a few tables, but they also do take outs and the lunch menu also looked very good, with healthy options too. Staff were very friendly and explained the menu, nice to see sourdough on the menu too.

Had Sunday lunch here spare of the minute thing family arrived looking fed phoned a few places all booked so landed here. We just ordered mains my goodness what a disappointment poorly presented sides were poor and who doesn't offer roastise with Sunday lunch my wife only ordered prawns they had to go back . The food tasted ok but it was like something you would expect in a greasy spoon no disrespect to lower end eateries .We're not foodies by any means but we know what a good traditional Sunday lunch is so no likey no go backey

Tried the newly opened coffee shop for breakfast. Although the café is small and intimate it is really lovely. A varied menu I had a sausage and bacon soda tge hubby had pancakes with bacon and scrambled eggs. The quality and presentation was faultless and we would highly recommend. You get your tea served in a dainty china cup and saucer. There are freshly baked scones and croissants too and an array of chilled soft drinks. Will definitely be back again.

Firstly let me say the food was okay, even for a fussy vegetarian, but this place definitely has the feel of a bar that serves food rather than a restaurant that serves drink. It was clean enough and the staff were very pleasant and very busy, just not 100% professional. I mean, who brings a jug of water and two glasses for three people? We had to ask another twice for the third glass. Also a Diet Coke and blackcurrant was served without the blackcurrant. At least two of the waiting staff had stained uniforms. If you like large portions this is the place to be, as long as you're not put off by the dingy approach or the signs on the toilets. Some might think they're amusing, others will think they're crude. It was very busy and quite noisy so it is obviously a popular place, just not for us.

Went for a meal night before this Mother's day (2017) arrived in time and shown to seats. After a short time they took our order and we waited & waited & waited for an hour before we had to ask when it was going to arrive Staff were nice and kept saying sorry every time they passed but sorry does not feed kids tummies. So the main meals arrived but not the sides so we waited & again asked when they would arrive Sorry Sorry. When they arrived they were incorrect with only one small of chips between 3 and garlic potatoes that had no garlic. By this time we had lost the will to live. The floor manager said she would give us desert's for free WOW. My son who was buying the meal for his mum is not the complaining type. Had i had been paying for these insult of a meals & service i would have done a Gordon Ramsay brutal feedback to manager. Have been here many times before and OK but this has put me off Newtownabbey has a lot of choice restaurants so Bellevue Arms get your act sorted. I give two points because the staff were very sorry.

Surprised at the mixed reviews here. I can only go by my own visit today. Good selection in the menu and service was second to none. Couldn't do enough to accommodate one of our party who has a lactose intolerance. Food was good in quality and quantity.

Lovely food and great friendly staff. It's out of Belfast it's very close to Belfast zoo. A possible place for nice comfort food after a day walking around the zoo.

Had a bit of a lazy day yesterday and opted for a late dinner. Booked a table at The Bellevue Arms for 8:15pm. We arrived at 8 and the girl sat us in the waiting area where we waited, and waited, and waited for a full hour, to be told that there was a table for us but they had no seats. Considering the waiting area turned over twice I find that hard to believe. When there was still no sign of us being seated at 9pm we just went home. Not a chance was I about to be seated at a table to have to wait to be served. Absolutely ridiculous! We hadn't been since the renovation and as a local bar/restaurant we were excited to try it out, wasted money on taxis, time getting ready etc to come home and order a Chinese! We will not be back! Weren't even offered a drink.

Went out for a family meal in the 28th of December and thought we would try the local Bellevue since it's been redecorated. So so disappointed! Had booked a table for 2 adults and 2 kids for evening dinner, once arrived it took 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and ask if we had. Eventually seated and drink order taken, then a few minutes later food order taken. 15 - 20 minutes later food arrived and still no drinks. Steak arrived without the peppered sauce and had to ask a young waitress for the pepper sauce and vinegar because we weren't asked if there was anything else you need. Still no drinks so had to ask again. By this stage we had lost all faith. To be fair my chicken and chill meal was delicious however wife's steak was tasteless. Not once did anyone come near the table during the whole meal. Quickly got up and went to pay which took me over 15 minutes to pay. Barman extremely busy and complaining under his breath about how busy it was. sad that there was no organisation. Said before will not be back and I mean it this time.

We booked a table for 8.30 for a birthday party. At 9 we were still waiting for our table with paltry excuses of we had a big party. We weren't even given menus so that we could have a look at what we wanted.

Awful night out would not go back. Food was overcooked and waited an eternity on our drinks.....staff over stretched and not plesant at all when ordering both at bar or from waiting staff......will not be back, belfast city centre here we come new years 2017

Went to try new Bistro and found it to be cramped and dull and no atmosphere so said we would eat our breakfast foods in downstairs bar. Although it was 11.45 There were no customers in the main bar so we sat in side bar. Decor was dull atmosphere was zero and not helped by unhappy looking cleaners and bar staff who were numerous. Food arrived very fast for a fry and plates were cold and no effort made to look attractive. Soda bread was like a brick. Went upstairs to see what's new but was unimpressed with badly fitted dull ties and wall coverage. Was not impressed with pics of naked children on toilet doors so didn't even open them. The restruant staff were pleasant which is always the case here but other than that there was nothing remotely inviting about any part of the downstairs. Bistro staff did their job but need to go on a customer service training day with the rest of the staff. Why are the condiment holders so dirty? Why was decor not brightened up during refurb? The whole place seems disjointed and stuck together. Please bring back the old Bellvue!! Sori but won't be recommending this Bistro which is so small one family would fill it.

Went with my wife for meal here last night been here a few times before food has always been good sometimes service abit hit and miss but good last night and they got a face lift really looks well !!

Had Sunday dinner in here and the place was totally packed (perhaps too packed for the staff that were working!!). We ordered food eventually after sitting for 15 minutes before being brought a menu or ordering drinks. Eventually the starters arrived which was fair enough but when the mains arrived they were all cold. They all tasted nice but I for one like my food hot and this was far from it. 20 minutes after we had finished the plates were cleared away and I would say it was a further 25 minutes before desserts arrived.

the Bellevue seems to have a change of management I have been a regular of the Bellevue for over 5years and after these five years of being a regular of the Bellevue I can safely say I will not be back , the staff are not friendly at all and the place is a mess, it is not a place that you would want to spend with your friends on a night out it is very rushed and the food was not nice, I ordered the chicken for stater and it was under cooked and for dinner I ordered the steak which I ordered med- well , which did not come out like that in which I had to send back but as a costumer I should not have to do that , terrible service , terrible staff , terrible food , I WONT BE BACK

Service was great, we had a young guy serving us most of the time and he couldn't have been more helpful as was all of the staff. The food was good, although not a very good selection of vegetarian options. The meat dishes were great (silverside, chicken, steak, turkey etc) but the lasagne wasn't so good, more cheese than meat or sauce. Starters were all good. Overall we had a lovely lunch in a nice environment and very reasonably priced.

Had heard mixed reviews of the new menu and decor at the Bellevue, so we decided to have a family Sunday dinner and make our own judgements. The interior upgrade is certainly impressive and gives the illusion of a lot more space. I found the decor rather dark; however, as my daughter is a Harry Potter fan, she felt the decor reflected a Slytherin style; something actually reminiscent of the Black household...(I digress, apologies to non Potter fans..). Anyway, the menu looked quite promising; updated to be more like the Springsteens/Blue Chicago menus of the world. However, I decided to be quite traditional and went for roast chicken and the trimmings, and my husband went for the beef silverside ( he did enjoy the beef very much). This was very much like any other Sunday type fare I had gone for at the Bellevue (eg Christmas Lunch) but I found nothing very different at all. Mashed potato was tasty, cabbage and carrot was lovely, but...Anyway, my daughter went for chicken wings (OK) and sweet potato fries (tepid)., my son had lasagne (not keen at all) and his girlfriend had chicken goujons (anything like this makes her happy; easily pleased!). We absolutely could not fault the waiting staff, attentive, patient (my son took forever deciding!) and prompt. Big kudos to them; fantastic workers; a credit to the business! To sum up; it is obvious that the Bellevue consistently draws in a crowd for meals; the huge portions are probably one of the reasons as customers feel they are getting value for money. For us, we are fussy beggars, and prefer something a bit less run of the mill.

Meal was excellent. I had fillet steak with garlic saute potatoes and a delicious whiskey sauce. Hubby had scampi with sweet potato fries. Portions were huge. Steak cooked just right and everything presented beautifully. I had dessert of pavlova and it was massive so I couldn't really complain about the extra spoon being brought!

The menu is very ordinary, nothing outstanding, pub grub. I had prawn cocktail to start, some prawns, sauce & lettuce. Pretty uninspiring. I then had roast beef dinner, it was tasteless. Dessert was meringue with cream and a few berries. Won't be going again.

Not been here for many years but have to say that the refurbishment is very good. Lovely view from the large window and pleasant service. Food distinctly average (had piri piri chicken and not really very much flavour) but at least it wasn't poor. Average price for this type of meal.

Was here yesterday ( sunday afternoon). With my family. Got served quickly with drinks . We just got the food in the bar. I got the chicken strips and mtly mum and son got the lounge burger. You get chunky chips and salad food is plentiful.

Had a very nice meal in here and it is a nice restaurant and atmosphere. Have been several times, the lasagne is good.

Great hearty food. Big portion sizes so you'll never leave hungry. Staff are more than happy to help and so friendly. Quick service and menu is wide in variety so there is definitely something for everyone. Always go here and will continue to do so. Great for Sunday lunch

Service is quick enough, but a little disorganised. (should you have to ask twice?) Menu is extensive, food delivered quickly, and of reasonable quality, but nothing special quality wise. Surroundings - plenty of space, and a nice view, but the decor and furnishings are a bit tired now. Time for a refurb.

Sadly this establishment is just not what it used to be. Although they have kept the portion sizes big I think they should work on improving the quality of the food and perhaps reduce the portion sizes. The place itself needs a big refurbishment especially the bar downstairs. Not a place I would be rushing back to.

Visited the new 'Harry's live lounge' on 10/09 with my son and husband.

We dont go out for dinner often due to the cost of eating out as a family so we looked at local restaurants on the internet and chose to book a table at the bellevue. We ate here tonight as a family. When we arrived we were asked if we would like to order some drinks while we looked at the menu. I said that I was ok as we were going to order the meal for 2 for £35 which included a bottle of wine as advertised on their website. I was informed that that menu was no longer available. After that the waitresses seemed to have issues with serving our table and made us all feel uncomfortable. I have never had a bad meal at the bellevue but tonights experience has put us off our old favourite!

The restaurant has had a make over since I visited several years ago.
