Bella Rose Cafe in Scarborough

First visit and must say this will become a regular place to go. Friendly staff and food was lovely and really good portions and good value! Will definitely recommend others go here!

I ordered poached eggs and they were hard so I sent them back and they returned the same poached eggs saying they were fine on the inside but they really weren’t they looked like hard boiled eggs 😂

This is a place where everyone must visit! Absolutely great food. Came here yesterday with my wife and sisters and we are back today! Very clean and very friendly, family welcoming cafe. Apple crumble really hit the spot & the food was out of this world. For a Londoner this was the spot. Thank you guys for the delicious food and welcoming vibe. Much appreciated.

Bacon butty cooked to perfection (asked for bacon to be well done)

We used to say that nothing ever happens on a Tuesday. This particular Tuesday wasn't looking too great, and the weather had turned Scarborough dull and grey again. Needing refreshment, I descended upon Bella Rose Café. This was my first visit. I decided to have an all-day breakfast and chose the Belly Buster and asked that they leave out the black pudding, beans and toast. I really wasn't expecting the breakfast to be so big. Every item was perfectly cooked, and I have never before found a café that cooks the top of the eggs in the way that I have always done. One of the highlights is the tinned plumb tomatoes, which are far nicer than fresh for breakfast in my view. In addition, the mushrooms were perfect, not something that can be said of other businesses, I'm afraid. In conclusion, then, if you are visiting Scarborough and you don't visit Bella Rose at some point in the day for breakfast, then you need your head examined.

What a great place! I ordered the Belly Buster and loved it. I opted out of black pudding and tomatoes, and the cafe had run out of hash browns (through no fault of their own) so we discussed alternatives and had this delicious result. I have also taken photos of the Menu as of 23rd February 2024.

Excellent breakfast and friendly staff, cafe clean and nice interior. My only minor suggestion would be that the large breakfast comes with 2 toast instead of 1 which is what is on the small breakfast too.

Just popped in for a drink and egg bap. Both my wife and I were impressed with the cafe and prices were very reasonable. Staff very helpful and pleasant.

What a little find 😍 been here twice now and the place is spotless, staff can not do enough for you and the food is out of this world, it really is worth every penny. Make sure you book to avoid being disappointed. Keep doing what your doing because its perfect 👌

Excellent cafe and extremely fair priced,

It was a wet Sunday, and we were warmly welcomed in. We both chose the all-day breakfast, one regulat one vegetarian. It came with toast and filter coffee and was georgeous. We added an extra slicevof toast each, but it wasn't needed. The price was fantastic.

Looked lovely. However, the breakfast arrived with cold items, had it replaced and the egg whites weren't cooked enough. Still slimy.

Very busy at 9am so we're lucky to get a table. Hubby had tea and a bacon butty which he enjoyed. I just had an Americano which was huge so will definitely go there again. Staff were very friendly and greet you when you go in just as it should be.

Nice seaside cafe serving proper cafe food. Good breakfast, milkshakes, coffee etc. Really nicely decorated and friendly staff. Make sure you book.

Wow... came to Scarborough for the night with our friends and googled where would be a good cafe for a breakfast. Bella Rose Cafe was less than half a mile away... The place is lovely. First impressions were great with terrace looking towards Peashom Park.. walked in and is was decorated modern. The food was fantastic. My mate and I had a Belly Buster each .. we were suprised at how much food arrived... (no need for an lunch today). I can not recommend this place enough and on our next visit to Scarborough know where we will be returning for a Mega Breakfast. Thank you

Just fancied a breakfast and glad I chose this lovely cafe. This is my first breakfast in years and wow did it go down well. Great staff too. No photos of the breakfast though as I like my fried egg a particular way and it's not the best for a picture !!!

My boyfriend and I had the vegan breakfast here twice, it was lovely. They give you a huge pot of tea even just for one person which I am certainly happy about as a Yorkshirewoman! We also had vegan chocolate cake to share for dessert and it was gorgeous, tasted no different to non vegan cake and was nice and moist! Friendly service, very cute little café, very reasonably priced too! We ate breakfast twice there and loved it! Thank you Bella Rose!

Lovely friendly cafe. We only had tea (once) and tea and cake (once) so can't comment on the cooked food, but the tea and cake were excellent. Very convenient for Peasholm Park.

Over-hyped place don’t waste your time and money to go there. Food tastes just average ambiance is also average and yes when you are having your snacks there are so many flies to accompany you.

Loved this place. Family business. Very near Peasholme Park and the Open Air Theatre. Had lunch and went back for tea before the gig Delicious Nachos ! Traditional Yorkshire Puddings too!! Good menu choice Seating outside or inside which is very well spread out.

Waited 30 minutes for our lunch. Run by teenagers. Food average.

brilliant breakfast brilliant service will definitely revisit

Pre booked 5 afternoon teas. When we arrived we were asked to choose a sandwich filling each and slice of cake from the display. We were served our pots of tea straight away but waited an hour as others were served hot food that were in the cafe after us. When my elderly mother went to the counter to politely ask when we would be served, the lady (in charge I think) butted in and she was told it was afternoon tea and it took longer, the lady then turned her back and walked away from my mum at the counter mid discussion. We were disgusted at her being treated in this way, and very hungry but left and went elsewhere. Really disappointed as this was booked by my parents as part of their golden wedding celebrations.

Lovely staff and helpful too ...they have lots to put up with at times its right as they say you can't please all of the people all of the time but always willing to put it right and they smile 😃and carry on with their job ....we come all year round as we are local, and is worth the time to chat and have a nice meal ,snacks etc. Julia Kelly. Lovely all day breakfast! My little girl even loves the kids breakfast and shes 3 yrs old. Just a suggestion the small cooked breakfast comes with an hash brown. My little girl loves them so maybe one or the offer of one on the kids breakfast would be nice. Other than that i love this little find for a lovely breakfast and been 3 times since last month. All staff very friendly! Highly recommend

What a lovely little cafe and hidden gem! The staff are so friendly and the food is extremely fresh and tasty. We now go here on a regular basis. Great prices and atmosphere. You can also scan in with the covid-19 location app. Tables with social distancing and outdoor seating.

Beautiful food and very reasonably priced, and lovely well presented cafe. However while I was eating, a staff member was continuously biting their nails while I was eating and I felt put off my food and couldn’t finish. 😕 I don’t like to cause a fuss or put bad reviews but I am pregnant and I was concerned about covid as this member did handle my drink and ice with their bare hands… 😕😕😕

We had a great welcome from the friendly staff in this lovely cafe. We found ourselves with a mix people who were clearly regulars happy to return and holiday makers looking for God food at a reasonable price. We were delighted to find just that. The highlight? Certainly the best chips I have ever tasted.

Lovely breakfast at a very good price .

i recentley visted scarborough and i tend to go here for a meal, however, i found that it was closed, this is not the first time this has happened it makes one think that they do not to want to open, i know some times if staff are off with illness, but sometimes when i have been there has enough staff to cope

We visited this place this week before visiting Peasholm park. My family and I found this to be a very lovely place. We had the scampi and chips, sausage sandwich with a side dish (chips) and chicken nuggets with chips for the children. The food was scrumptious, the chips in particular was amazing! We also had the lemon cake which was amongst the best we’ve had! The service was top class, inviting and very friendly. We highly recommend this place, a real gem in Scarborough!

We come hereiften and have always enjoyed the service and food. The last two times have proven to be extremely disappointing. Penultimate visit.... we were shown to a seat and then ignored for 40 minutes! The waitress only came over when I started to get aggitated. Took the order and then got it wrong.they weren't that busy. The last visit..... we came into the cafe - three staff saw us and then carried on talking. We waited five minutes, by the door, got so fed up we left and went to The Hideout next door. A bit more expensive, but at least we were acknowledged and served quickly.What has happened to Bella Rose? Won't go again- one mistake is (sort of) acceptable, but two? Nope.

Myself and my wife just had afternoon tea here, what great food all fresh and really tasty. the portions were more than enough. the staff were friendly and made sure we were happy with everything, what a brilliant place to have afternoon tea i highly recommend Bella rose cafe when when visiting Scarborough its right next to peasholm park to.

Excellent service, great staff. Reasonable prices with a good menu. Breakfast to good lunch options all looked great value. Large portions with a good sweet menu. Varied options for drinks. Good social distancing and all furniture cleaned after occupancy. Great disabled and baby changing facilities.

We are locals and have drove past 'Bella Rosa' for months. The day we decided to try it we were disappointed. Arrived and the door handle was filthy to the point where my hand sticked to it. Not great considering we are in COVID times. Also had to ask for the sauce stains to be wiped from the table outside as our hands were sticking to it.Ordered 2 cooked breakfasts and one no beans and my breakfast arrived with beans on. The waitress was very polite and apologetic and got my breakfast sorted and brought back out with no beans. Problem was - half of it was scorching hot and half of it was stone cold!?? I ended up leaving some of it because it was too cold to eat and just not enjoyable.We are not a fussy couple but just like things to be clean and let's face it.... An English breakfast isn't hard. I'd understand it if we had ordered gourmet food but it's not hard to roll out a nice English brekkie. My partner also had to clean his fork before eating his food as he noticed there was dried food stuck between the prongs. Anyway fair play to the young female waitress who was polite, patient and lovely throughout. But won't be returning.

We visited for breakfast during a recent trip to Scarborough after viewing many recommendations for it on the local dog friendly facebook page. They were not wrong. We had a lovely full English breakfast in a spotlessly clean venue. They also do lunches and evening meals (which we intend to try out next time we're there). Dogs are made very welcome which is always a plus point as far as we're concerned.

Just returned from a late lunch we got service with a smile I had chilli with rice which was very tasty and my daughter who is a picky eater hat a burger with chips she really enjoyed and left an empty plate them we had cheesecake for dessert service was quick and the girls were lovely we will definitely be back thank you for a lovely Lunch and great service

Good food and fair prices, the Covid precautions were well established and enforced. The cafe was let down by the service - while one girl was good and the food came out promptly, it was very difficult to get hold of the waiter in the first instance, taking orders was slow and when a family member turned up to join us, she eventually had to go up to the counter to place an order as no one came to us (contravening their coronavirus protocol).

Good food and decent service in spite of being very busy when we were there. A couple of very happy breakfasts.

Service was terrible, waited one hour for food to arrive and then the order was wrong. It was not busy when we arrived but clearly they were understaffed. Cutlery was dirty. Food was average and we will not be returning.

While on holiday we ate our breakfast here every day! Really lovely, hot, quality food at a great price. Tried lots off the menu, if it's not listed they are very obliging to any requests too. Made our 2 daughters a children's size deluxe hot chocolate and the milkshakes are delicious. Small breakfast excellent value and very filling. Staff all really nice and helpful. Will definately be back when we next visit this part of the world
