Always been a huge fan of Bella Italia and popped in today for the first time it ages (for obvious reasons). Amazing service from start to finish! We were promptly welcomed at the door and run through all the covid procedures so felt very safe. Our waitress Alys was fantastic she provided a great service! Food was delicious as always. Did not disappoint!

Lovely host made sure we were settled and went through the covid measures in place. Very patient wait staff and food came out quickly and tasted wonderful.

I was on a UK tour and there were 4 of us looking for a place to have lunch, it was delicious we stopped one night in Edinburgh, I would highly recommend it.

We were really satisfied with food that we ordered. Everything tasted great, it was fresh and the atmosphere of the place was perfect! Especially being served by Ewelina was a total pleasure, very hard working girl who made us feel like home. Thanks for that! Aleksandra and Aneta

A very nice Bella Italia. Waiters were welcoming and extremely friendly. Food was hot, delicious and the drink was flowing. The ambience of the restaurant was lovely. We will return and did twice during our Edinburgh stay.

Brilliant GF options. Popped in for a quick lunch and was really impressed with the amount of Gluten Free options and knowledge from the staff. Good value with set menu too.

Visited for an impromptu dinner. The restaurant feels very Covid safe and we were served by Mark who was really friendly and accommodating. Food and atmosphere were both wonderful too.

Visited for a late lunch on a Thursday. The pasta was really amazing, good quality and big portions for a reasonable price.

Today we went into the Hanover Edinburgh Bella Italia. The staff are all friendly, polite and attentive. We ordered the bottomless Pizza deal (all you can eat pizza in 90 minutes), we tried 3 different Pizza’s and they were superb. Each one was cooked to perfection. We would highly recommend this restaurant for its fabulous staff and high quality food. Will soon return and recommend to all of our friends! Hats off to Mark as well for perfect customer service - Thank you!

Delicious and affordable food. Such a beautiful atmosphere, perfect for all occasions. The server Mark was very accomodating. He was prompt with the delivery of the food and taking it away. There was no awkward mouth half full "Is the food ok?" moments bur the correct approach.He had a very professional manner throughout and engaged well. He was able to make me and my friend laugh basing his customer service to fit the customer at hand. Fab work Mark! Would highly reccomend Bella Italia Edinburgh.

Service was absolutely brilliant. Attentive staff! Good covid measures in place. I have severe dietary restrictions, and this restaurant catered for all of them. An absolute joy to have been eating here and reading my book. The service was not rushed and everything came out beautiful. Very very tasty. I wish the chef and staff were closer to me!

I have had some dodgy pizzas after nights out but thisWas by far the worst. Stone cold. Hardly any cheese , flat as a pancake and all round vile. The waitress was in her phone behind the counter and really didn’t care less . I cannot believe this place has so many good reviews it’s was absoltely vile !!!!!

The only disappointing thing was that we were just coming out of lockdown and the restaurant was very quiet. The food and service were very good; felt sorry for the staff that they were not getting the bums on seats they deserved. All C19 measures were in place and functioning.

the waitress that served us was taking to her chef colleague of the same nationality was swearing in her native language quite a bit which my girlfriend who speaks the language understood! This being said the pizza and tiramisu was good tasting.

I absolutely loved my evening. Staff was amazing, very focused and enthusiastic about every diner that entered the restaurant. What can I say about the food... simply among the top 3 lasagnas I have ever tasted, I could taste the passion of the cooking that went into it, sauce was sublime.I proudly recommend this amazing restaurant

My friend and I visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening. Jaime took care of our table and we have nothing to complain about. He was very attentive, professional, knowledgeable and polite. Ewelina was an absolute star of a server and we couldn’t have asked for more. On our short trip to Edinburgh she gave us pointers and advice which we are very grateful for. We went as quite a large group and were seated very quickly and served quickly too. Mark was really friendly and helpful, always topping up our water and making sure everything was okay with the food which was wonderful. Would highly recommend!!

Mark was our server and was really friendly and efficient. Thanks Mark. The manager was also really friendly and helpful with storing our bags for us as we had our suitcases before our train home. My sister and I really enjoyed our meals. My sister is coeliac and the amount of gluten free choices is great.

Service with a smile behind the mask. Food fantastic as always. I felt for the staff as there were lots of people turning up without booking and some late for their bookings.

The meal and service was very good with a good choice of different dishes and very respectable portion size, but the drink was over-priced. It was busy with a vibrant atmosphere but, unfortunately our table was in a draughty location near the door.

My friend and I have just ate dinner, in the hanover street branch, this is the 1st time I've been in and the 2nd, my friend, we both had the brashetta (please sorry for my spelling ) it was only warm,dry, sliced bread, no oil, tomato,garlic!!!, it was goats cheese by the dollop, cherries tomatoes placed on and when you picked it up fell off, uneventful and disappointing, so that was our starters, so onto main meal, I had said to the waiter, nice lad, young, I usually have tagateli cabonara,(the mushroom in the cream sauce) so he advised he could change the leeks for the mushrooms, yes I said, I'll go with that, but that was disappointing too, as it wasn't amended at all, it tasted like tagateli pasta and tomato puree, ok I do like that but it was uneventful and bland and again warm, I asked my friend what her was like, can't remember what she got, but said hers tasted like tomato puree and pasta!!, so we had a voucher for 40% of the main meal! Yes OK, and our bill still came to £48 for the two of us, mmm not happy and would definitely not recommend here, in fact I'd say major rip off.

We called in for lunch to use our tastecard and had a steak each with a bottle of wine. The service was excellent. The waiter, Dani, let us taste a couple of wines to help us choose, recommended using chilli oil on our steaks which was delicious & went really well with the sauces. The food was great. The manager also stood out for excellent service. They are obviously a good team.

Nice little restaurant. The food is good and waiters are friendly. I had the “Conchiglione Basilicata” as main course and “Cookie Dough Al Forno” as the desert. Both were excellent! Can be very busy sometimes so recommended to book a table.

Called in for breakfast - it wasnt particularly busy with less than half a dozen tables occupied. Ordered coffees & a couple of breakfasts. We waited over 30minutes and no one noticed we were still waiting. On leaving we were given a lame excuse of being a new chef.. the waitress should have noticed, we hadn't received our orders, a male worker did notice us looking, but didn't acknowledge. Shame really because I'd had a meal at Bella Italia in Leicester, in the last week and the waiter couldn't have been more helpful

We ate at this restaurant on 4th Feb 2020. Seated straight away, had lovely 3 course meal (paid for mostly with Tesco vouchers). Service from Dani throughout was exceptional. Many thanks.

We ate here on one night, we were seated straight away and again asked if we had any allergies. I had the lasagne and the tiramisu. It was gorgeous, we had some drinks and were not rushed to vacate our table. The location is great on the Royal Mile.

I ordered the carbonara and it was very watery and dry at the same time weird but true. This was the first time I visited this restaurant and I did not like it at all. My friend had the pizza and it was also a thin slice of crusted cheese on bread. Absolutely not a fan.

Hanover street , on Wednesday 8th October at 4 pm , served by an extremely rude Italian waiter who lied about his name & the name of his colleague telling me it’s John & jack while they have different names .

me and my friend are students. the restaurant was busy and they made space for us and we were wecomed very nicely by the male waitor. the food was pretty good, not the best ive ever had but pretty good and hot enough. at the end we asked for our bill and the waitress said they didnt take student discount because the edinburgh xmas markets were going on even though we were both students and had the discount code through our universities. we were meant to get 50% off and this was the reason we went here however we didnt get this and were unaware till the end of the experience. however, i have been here with my other student friends and the food was pretty good too, drinks were nice and student discount worked so - ask about student discount before u sit down.

Was using a voucher 'Taste of Italy' given to us as a gift and Bella Italia was one of the participating restaurants. It included 3 course meal for 2 plus a glass of wine each.

We dropped into Bella Italia today with our three kids while visiting the National Museum of Scotland for our 6 year old’s birthday.

One of the best pizzas that I have ever had. So amazing and so delicious. Ambience is fab. Staff is superb and prompt. A full value for money meal

The waiter, Danny made us feel very welcome, was great with our kids and generally made for a very enjoyable family dining experience. The luganica sausage special was also lovely.

We had pizza, risotto, and pasta on christmas eve, all of which met our expectations. The staff were friendly, especially Danny who was serving us. He was helpful in helping us to split the bill between ourselves and gave us recommendations on the things to do in Edinburgh especially on Christmas day when most shops were closed.

We were glad to find a restaurant that made a big effort to fit us in a last minute Christmas reservation, in a very busy night. The food was great and we really appreciated the service, Domenico looked after us very well and brought a very great attitud which we do not find all the time in a big city especially during busy times. Will probably go back before the end of our holiday for a lunch or coffee time.

Very busy environment especially since close to Christmas. Reserve or wait. We waited, not very long, and were promptly served. Not impressed with meals. Marco Polo is pathetic and tasteless - more like Kraft dinner with large chunks of duck thrown in, and a mushroom. The lasagna was more like a saucy suspension of ingredients. Anyway, would not come again although others must like the place as it was very busy.

We had been here last August so we came back today to enjoy a lovely meal. Starting with an Aperol Spritz we shared a bruschetta. I then had a nice steak and my wife ate a nice pizza. We were served by Mark, a friendly waiter in good mood! We will certainly return here on our next visit of Edinburgh.

Bit expensive for what you get. Luckily I had a discount code for nhs staff and got 25% off. Drinks are very pricey. Stuck to tea it was the cheapest.

Went for dinner here with my family for an early Christmas celebration. The waiter took our order and we eventually got served our food after a long wait Unfortunately one dish was cold and by the time it was replaced the rest of us had finished our meals. Also we had ordered 2 sides which arrived eventually once we had reminded them again when the cold dish was taken away. Same problem with the desserts. Seems one was forgotten and again the rest of had finished when the last one was brought. The hot drinks were luke warm but we didnt bother to say as we were fed up with such poor service we just wanted to pay and leave.

I visited Edinburgh last weekend for the Christmas markets with my mum and we stupidly forgot to book somewhere to have something to eat. We walked into Bella Italia and it was extremely busy, with Christmas dinners etc. and when the waiter approached us, he said that they were fully booked. He then noticed that I was very noticeably pregnant and asked us to hold on while he checked if they could find us a table, since the weather was really bad and he did not want me having to go back out in the wind and rain, having to look for somewhere else to go. He very kindly found us a table, despite how obviously busy they were and the customer service from all members of staff from there on in was impeccable. The staff were very attentive with not just ourselves, but everyone and we did not wait long to be served. We had 3 courses and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant! 5*s

Had a pretty delicious three course meal with my brother for his birthday celebration at Bella Italia. The waiter who attended to us - Danny, was very helpful, paid attention to details and was overall amazing. I would recommend this place always for brilliant Italian cuisine.

My husband and i went for a bite to eat in Bella Italia. It was busy, but a table was ready for us.

Kwaliteit eten zeer matig. Het is er cibtinu druk, waardoor slechte bediening, verkeerde bestelling, lang wachten, onpersoonlijk en onverzorgd eten. Iedere keer dat we er zijn proberen we het toch weer, maar steeds weer een teleurstelling. En het is er nog duur ook!

Booked a table for 8 people which was good as it was very busy. Our table was ready and clean and the staff were very nice. They ran out of Prosecco but offered another option. The food was lovely and everyone enjoyed it. Would go again best bella Italia I have been too.

Pre order set menu, why? to bring out random food to see what people take. I got my food 25 minutes AFTER everyone had finished eating/plates removed. Eating alone amongst 24 people? Had to order a pizza 4 times, even though i had ordered it 2 weeks prior. Food was cold and bland. 1 hour wait for a FROZEN brownie 'Warm brownie' sure! £30 for the food, 1 drink, service charge and tip per person. (seemed reasonable and would be if the food was what you ordered and hot) Wouldn't bother ever going there again, even with less people. Real shame for the somewhat friendlly staff, only thing to make the night a 2 out fo 10.

Great time at Bella italia, despite being a big (and difficult) group Janek couldn’t have done enough for us, 5 star service.

Visited yesterday in a group of 7. Lots of great menu choices and really reasonable price. Usual pizza and pasta options and with the kids meals costing £7.95, where else can you get such good value especially in centre of Edinburgh!

Great pizza, lovely wine at a reasonable price. The place was very busy but the staff made an effort to accommodate us even though we were early and the waiter Danny really looked after us and made us feel welcome.

it’s hard to decided what to start with to be honest , firstly we headed to the Bella Italia on the royal mile due to ya having a voucher on the app uni days , I asked the ( possible manager) when I walked in and he says that that branch doesn’t accept the voucher but the one listed above does , after a 10 minute walk to this place we were then told again that they don’t accept them during the Christmas market , and from then the waiter was so rude , when I went to the bathroom my girlfriend says to the waiter the situation and he was more than happy to be rude to her , he then came over to order our food with no please order thank you to follow , we honestly couldn’t wait to leave it felt like he couldn’t care less . But he happily says please and thank you to the couple of older woman who sat beside us !

Had a nice welcome at the door but it went down hill from then. The restaurant wasn't too busy, but the waiter took far too long to come to our table, then complained that we should complain about the wait! He was too busy gesturing to a colleague to pay attention to me when I was ordering. The burger bun arrived with a bug wandering over the top of it, so it had to go back. There didn't seem to be any rush to replace it. Two of us had almost finished our meal before a new burger arrived. Normally we'd have dessert and a cuppa, but we really just wanted to leave. They knocked 10% off the food, a princely sum of about 3 quid . Not likely to be back.

Don’t bother....dreadful service, cold, over cooked pasta which we sent back & then was re-done. Marginally better 2nd time but patronising manager who made no allowance on the bill for the dreadful experience.

The service was ridiculously slow and unfriendly. Both our meals were bland. Not the Bella Italia experience I am used to. Go elsewhere there's plenty choice in the city.

First of all please change the name of the restaurant! Bella Scozia, Bella Francia, Bella Turchia but not Bella Italia. Please!!

We had a very nice caesar salad and pretty good starters but unfortunately the two main pasta courses we got were really bland. Danny and the salad saved the day.

A party of ladies up from the country to take in a show have this restaurant a try last month. It was so enjoyable, we came back yesterday to experience it again. And we weren't disappointed! We were looked after attentively by Danny, who brought us our delicious food with charm. Guess where we'll be eating next time?

Visited the restaurant with friends whilst in Edinburgh, and it was a pleasant evening of good food and drinks. Not too expensive and a good selection of food on the menu. It was very busy but the food was quickly served and was very good.

Mittelmässig das Essen. Hatte Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti zu weich und nach der Speisekarte sollte es eine rassige Bolognesesause sein! Die Sauce war sehr fad. Preis Leistung stimmen nicht, zu teuer!

The first class service started as soon as we arrived! Our waiter Danny went above and beyond to make our night as good as it could be! The food was amazing and very quick with little waiting time. Definitely will be back again.
