A night to remember. Nice food, great service and a lovely opera-performance. A friendly and professional experience.

Bel Canto was near our hotel and we were intrigued every time we passed its doors. We decided to have dinner there but had no idea what a delight was in store. The food, the wine and of course the performances were all excellent. It was a challenge to remember to pick my fork up while the singers were singing! My companion is still raving about the lamb and I remember the prawns very fondly. This was probably the best food we had while in London (far better than the trendy Chelsea restaurant we ate at a few nights later). Dining at Bel Canto is an experience not to be missed.

Pure heaven for opera and food lovers! What a treat - best voices, arias and most delicious plates. Please treat your loved ones to celebrate their birthdays and you will get the most amazing HBD to you by tenors and sopranos... best experience ever!!! Special thanks to Ilia, manager who was always there to accommodate any request and making every evening a very special for many years... dont miss it!

En helt spesiell «restaurant» der du får stykker av kjente operaer fremført av servitørene. Hyggelig og intim atmosfære og garantert noe som ikke finnes på hvert gatehjørne. God mat var det også!

The splendor experienced on this spectacular evening will never be forgotten, and I would gladly travel across the Atlantic to return to the magical unexpected delights of Bel Canto London. Enchanting vintage costumes, cleverly placed wall encased antique viola & lutes, & baby grand piano set the unusual romantic stage for your waiter & waitresses to belt out the most beautiful music of which some I recognized and some I did not , in between courses served! The savory Beef Carpaccio melted in my mouth. The tender Prawn Spaghetti was light and fresh unlike anything I’ve ever tried. My berry cheesecake was the fluffiest slice of heaven that I couldn’t believe I had room for! The thing that cannot be overstated was the performers. I have never been to an opera, this did not matter. Pieces sung were sad, romantic, funny , a duet & a sing along. I don’t care how long it takes to get a reservation, get one, plan your month ahead if you must, but go to Bel Canto and tell Elia the American Tourist sent you, you will not regret it!

If there was any justice, the queues should extend down Bayswater Road every night here. Our umpteenth visit but the first since Covid. The two Davids were in fine form with the taller one given us a classical Javert in Stars. Their Pearl Fishers was equally outstanding. The soprano was not only an excellent singer but a delight on the piano. Food very good and outstanding value when compared to the combined cost of eating out elsewhere followed by a show. Bravo- look forward to the next time

Wenn das Essen erstklassig ist, die Weine vorzüglich, Klavier gespielt wird und die Kellner mit großem Talent Opernarien singen, dann sind Sie im Bel Canto. Dieses Restaurant ist eine Perle in der großen Londoner Gastro-Szene und ein unglaubliches Erlebnis für alle, die die Oper lieben – oder kennen lernen sollen. Nicht groß, und deshalb sehr intim (Reservierung im Voraus wirklich notwendig), elegant ausgestattet, perfekt für ein romantisches Dinner zu zweit, aber auch für einen musikalischen Abend mit Freunden. Absolut empfehlenswert!

This restaurant was recommended by friends and, after 3 covid impacted attempts, we managed to visit on 4th Feb for a belated birthday meal with friends. We discovered that this was their reopening night. I'm delighted to say that this is a very special restaurant. The waiter and waitresses had not lost their sparkle and performed some wonderful well known pieces. The atmosphere is not stuffy or self indulgent but pure friendly , high quality entertainment that is very rare to find. The food was lovely and we had a wonderful evening. I would recommend the restaurant in a heartbeat and sincerely hope that they recover and manage to continue after recent covid lockdowns etc. Go visit, you won't be disappointed !

Went by chance to this restaurant as we were staying at the Corus Hotel next door… well what an absolutely fantastic find! Served by the opera singers themselves! A real treat! We were moved in all of the senses. Superb quality opera and the food to match.. yes certainly recommend.. we will be returning when next visiting London.

Fourteen of us Celebrated my father’s special birthday at bel canto Bayswater. Excellent food, fabulous service and the closest most of us will ever get to live opera singers….. simply stunning!!!! All to the back drop of a live piano music…. Totally recommend chefs special birthday cake which was enough for all of us… The manger Ilya is very personable and keen to provide all you need to make your time at Bel Canto a special one . You don’t have to love opera to appreciate the talent of these magnificently talented men and woman …… definitely a night to remember

We have had the most wonderful experience yesterday at Bel Canto, which acted as host for 55 of my family and friends. Ilya and the team made the preparations easy for us in the weeks leading up to the event including tailoring the menu to our wishes. The food was excellent, the service was spot on and the entertainment was brilliant throughout with a fabulous pianist for several hours and an uplifting singing finale. If you want to find somewhere special for an event, I highly recommend it

Came here on a Friday night as we are both lovers of Opera and fine dining ... didnt really tick the box for either of those passions . This was certainly not fine dining , firstly you had to pick your food choice in advance of arriving at the restaurant which feels it is for the benefit of the restaurant not the customer. We arrived at 7 and sat in an empty restaurant for half an hour which made us feel somewhat awkward, to be fair the piano player did keep us entertained ! The food when it arrived was ok but nothing special , the salmon started was alright but nothing to rave about. The chicken for the main was a bit dry , pomme fondant ok and wilted spinach a dollop on your plate. I have eaten at a good proportion of the Michelin starred restaurants in London and this was nowhere near the standard you get there. I don't know but it didn't feel to us like it had been freshly cooked and more like the food you get at a large scale hospitality event. Not unpleasant but not stand out either and for £61 a head not really value for money. The fact we had arrived at 7 meant we didnt hear any singing for about 45 minutes which almost made us feel like leaving early but we did stick around. Some of the singing was truly amazing and kind of retrieved the evening for us and it got better as the evening progressed , Roberto was a standout tenor and had the rafters rattling with a great version of Nessa Dorma , he has a great voice for sure. Galina did an amazing version of O mio babbino caro but not so strong on some of the other arias . Didnt get the other singers name but he was quite good as well . Have to say wine was good value and to try and pick up the evening momentum we did have quite a few glasses ! We did enjoy the evening eventually but somehow it doesn't match a night at the opera house or a meal in a fine dining restaurant . Love the pianist who kept tinkling the ivories all night long . The singers were a good standard but at times it felt they were slight bored waiters and frustrated opera singers , just my perception maybe . My opinion is it would work better if the singers stick to singing and they had dedicated waiters. So an interesting experience which we enjoyed mostly but cant say we were wowed by the experience either , not great value for money either as my wallet was £200 lighter by the end of the evening

It's my third time to BelCanto, first time after lock down and I can confirm the highest score. The food, the atmosphere, the artists, the service, all is good. There are no other places where you can finish your dinner with all the glasses up and the artists singing "Libiamo ne' lieti calici". A unique experience in town.

Firstly, it’s important to say that our first time at Bel Canto was a fabulous experience. This was mainly due to the Opera singers and pianist. The singers who were also our servers were only to happy to chat and answer questions. The reason I have only given 3 star rating is down to two things. Firstly, when the Tenor was singing, all I could concentrate on was the person behind him at the bar taking glasses out of the dishwasher, rubbing with a cloth and then holding them up to the light. This was so distracting. Did he really need to do this during a performance? There were only 11 diners so there wasn’t a need for more glasses. The food, although definitely fine dining and presentation was beautiful was a slight let down. I had lime and fennel with Salmon to start. I tasted neither lime or fennel. The veggie wellington was completely lacking any seasoning and was very bland. For dessert I had a Tangerine panna cotta which was like a solid mousse with no wobble as a panna cotta should have. The pomme fondant was served cold. As this is fine dining it doesn’t come cheap and for us, the food is the reason we wouldn’t come back. The experience however was great.

Let's be honest the reason to go here if for the singing and atmosphere.OK, the food is ok but not the Haute Cuisine they make it out to be. But that said food was nice enough if the portions were a little on the small side for my appetite. Singers were very good and made an effort to include all of the guests which made for a casual relaxed and fun atmosphere

We went as a group of 13 for a 70th birthday celebration and it was just wonderful! Waiters who serve great meals and then burst into Opera song is something to behold. In fact the Maitre d' was most efficient, polite and capable and I suspect the ambience of the restaurant is created by him. Such an interesting and enjoyable evening, and great to hear the strength of trained opera voices from close quarters.

My wife booked this for a surprise celebration for 8 of us. It was wonderful. Just the right mix of talking time, excellent food and the most personal professional singers. Two of our group are now keen to try opera for the first time. Thank you for a special and memorable event. Will come again

Superb dining experience with amazing professional Opera singers waiting on tables and belting out some great Arias every 15 minutes. Both food and music were exceptional - I urge everyone to try something different and book a table. You won’t be disappointed.

Reservamos para la cena de cumpleaños - para 8 personas, en su mayoría nuevos en la ópera. Todos nos recibieron como viejos amigos, nos deleitaron con el canto más maravilloso y también tuvimos una excelente comida. Los toques personales, la profesionalidad y la calidez del personal y los artistas durante toda la víspera realmente hicieron una noche muy especial para todos, y todos estaban entusiasmados con eso después. Estaremos de vuelta. Muy recomendable.

Dos veces al año, mi esposa y yo viajamos desde el noroeste para visitar este lugar y cada vez que salimos encantados. Nuestra última visita fue en la calle del 1 de febrero, donde estuvimos muy contentos de ver a los talentosos David y Lionel de guardia. He vivido en el centro de Londres durante mucho tiempo y me gusta la ópera, pero nunca había oído hablar de Bel Canto hasta que un amigo italiano me llevó allí anoche. Está escondido en el sótano de un hotel con cortinas de terciopelo rojo que crean un ambiente de ópera. Cada 15 minutos, los comensales dejan de hablar para escuchar arias de ópera interpretadas por talentosos jóvenes artistas multilingües que también se doblan como encantadores camareros, acompañados por un consumado pianista que tocó Chopin entre las canciones. A pesar del nombre del restaurante, la sabrosa comida es más francesa que italiana, pero encontramos un Amarone italiano robusto para beber con mi vension y puré de trufas y la carne estofada de mi amigo. Fue una noche absorbente y entretenida.

Fantástico lugar, si te gusta la ópera, o incluso si te apetece algo completamente diferente. Los camareros son cantantes de ópera entrenados y cantan en varios puntos durante la noche, acompañados por un maravilloso pianista. Una noche brillante ¡No es barato, pero significativamente menos que las entradas para Covent Garden y una excelente comida también! Muy recomendable.

Although I go often for dinner in London, this place is my favourite. The food is very good (it became even better last year when a new chef arrived) but what makes unique is the show experience with 5 artists . (pianist, soprano, mezzo soprano, tenore e baritono) singing the most famous and loved arias of the world. All the people are very nice and friendly and they create an amazing empathy with the audience which starts singing with them.... To see also the artists coming from all over the world is a pleasure for the people like me who considers himself citizen of the world

A basement restuarant in the heart of London. The welcome was good however our table was to the rear of the piano behind a large pillar: which meant we couldn’t see a lot of the performers, however you could hear them.

soirée entre amis nous sommes pas du tout des amateurs d’ope , musique classique on a été pour s’amuser et par curiosité, mais alors là nous sommes resté scotché les voix magnifiques à nous donner des frissons c’est impressionnant a nous faire aimer l’apéro ambiance au top on a un concert privé à notre table c’est génial et pour ne rien gâcher les plats étaient délicieux et de très bon vins vraiment vous devez tester vous ne serez pas déçu

We had a great night dining at Bel Canto last night listening to fantastic opera sung live. The quality of the food was good, I had the gravelax starter followed by Cod and then poached Pear for dessert but the arias sung so beautifully were the real show stopper. If you're looking for a unique dining experience I recommend this restaurant, it's not cheap, but was very enjoyable.

This was my 4th visit to this restaurant and it never disappoints. The menu is limited with about 5 choices for each course, it has been refreshed since my last visit in March and all our party were happy with their choices. The food is generally good, although my chocolate fondant lacked a bit of ooze on this occasion. The singing was however exceptional and we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Being bought this for a birthday present, my husband and I who like opera but would not say it was our chosen music, were skeptical but were delighted that not only did we know quite a few of the songs and really enjoyed it, the food was exceptional.

La comida es consistentemente encantadora y bellamente servida por los talentosos cantantes de ópera que siempre se deleitan cantando las famosas arias entre cursos. Además de su obvio talento, siempre son muy amigables y felices de relacionarse con los clientes. Se garantiza una velada muy agradable de música y buena comida.

Llegamos el viernes por la noche, a la llegada nos sentamos con prontitud y una orden de bebidas tomadas. Tengo que admitir que me decepcionó un poco las opciones del menú, pero eso es una elección personal. El primer plato de queso de cabra era encantador, pero no se parecía en nada a la foto de ese mismo día en su página de Facebook del mismo titular. La principal era muy sabrosa pero puede ser un poco aceitosa. De todos modos, la comida no era la orden principal del día, estábamos allí para la Ópera, que era excelente, mi esposo pensó que eran magníficos. Nos arruinaron un poco las dos mesas (una a cada lado) que siguieron hablando y luego una atmósfera causada por una tercera mesa (con toda razón) pidiéndole a una de las mesas que dejara de hablar durante las presentaciones. Esto llevó a una discusión y tensión en el pequeño restaurante. Si reserva o mira en línea, se le pide que no hable durante las presentaciones (obviamente, creo) de todos modos, no se le recuerda esto educadamente cuando llega y no hay avisos para leer en su mesa, por lo que si no reservó Puede que no seas consciente. Los camareros y las camareras están demasiado ocupados como para notarlo, pero tal vez el maître necesita estar más atento, ya que realmente puede arruinar la velada. Un bonito detalle fue que le cantaron feliz cumpleaños a mi esposo y a otro comensal. Si volviera, tampoco me sentaría en la esquina, ya que no podía ver toda la sala desde nuestros asientos.

No podemos elogiar a Bel Canto lo suficiente. La administración es profesional, amable y eficiente, lo que garantiza una experiencia relajada y tranquilizadora. Buena comida, vino, servicio y ambiente. Excelente entretenimiento provisto por los talentosos camareros que manejaron nuestro grupo de 20 personas con un servicio relajado pero impecable. Quedamos encantados con las voces finas de los cuatro cantantes que estuvieron allí esa noche. Una buena carta de vinos acompaña un menú modesto que se cocina y se sirve a un alto nivel. Una de las veladas más agradables que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo.

We came to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We were delighted by the beautiful voices of the three sopranos who were there that evening. (There are a different combination of singers each evening.) The menu is somewhat limited but very good. We were a little confused when two people in our group ordered the vegetarian offering of risotto, but what they were actually served was couscous. The foodie in our group noticed right away, but they didn’t say anything. Still tasty. But a problem if you’re celiac. Wine list was good. We bought a CD on the way out. Will return when we’re back in town.

The music was excellent. The piano was great as was the voices. The food was OK, but the music and singing more than made up for anything that may have been lacking. Highly recommended.

Very unusual restaurant in that the waiters and waitresses are all trained professional Opera singers, who are excellent. The food is very good indeed with a very small menu which should be a little more varied, as there were basically 3 starters, 3 first courses and 3 mains etc. The service was attentive, friendly and personal and then they would burst into song every 15 mins ! There was an excellent pianist who worked very well with the singers. It certainly was a different but enjoyable experience.

We had a really good evening at Bel Canto. A delicious dinner, whilst listening to beautiful popular arias sung by 4 amazing opera singers, accompanied by an extremely talented pianist. The performers - each one top class - came and sang amongst our tables, sometimes solo, other times duets, trios and all 4 together, and we felt like part of the act. A thoroughly enjoyable evening.

My sister treated me to an evening at Bel Canto for my birthday and I was absolutely blown away by the experience. I knew what the concept was, but was not prepared for how good it would be! To eat delicious food whilst being entertained by four incredibly talented opera singers was just wonderful! It was a little surreal at first to be moved to tears by a singer one minute, and then have him serve your main course the next, but you soon get used to it! I mentioned to one of the singers - Roberto - about my favorite song from Tosca, and he added it to the program and did such a beautiful emotional rendition - it absolutely made my birthday.

Situated opposite Hyde Park this unique Resturant is very warm and satisfying. Although children under the age of 12 are not allowed but the manager in this case allowed my 11 and 8 years old. The food was warm and filling portions. After each course there was opera singing, which added another flavour to the evening.

We visited the restaurant on a Thursday eve in Easter week. The evening had been a gift from our daughter purchased through Buy a Gift but of course, you can book and pay separately like with any restaurant.

Celebrating our wedding anniversary (we had our wedding reception here 4 years ago)we were spoiled rotten by the team at Bel Canto. Our 15th visit and as good as the first. Once again the team were fantastic, the singers amazing and we had a fabulous new tenor on his first performance at the restaurant.

This a quirky little restaurant where you enjoy a beautifully cooked and presented meal from a set menu, and it's served to you by waiting staff who are all classically trained and qualified opera singers. They sing every 15 minutes throughout your meal, and it's a very cosy and intimate setting. The songs are generally well known and popular arias. Very enjoyable and definitely a meal with a difference!

Tasty food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, great music and performance! We booked for a birthday celebration and we weren’t deceived at all. I was afraid that there would be some exaggeration in the previous reviews, but it was a great experience and as mentioned by all those who commented before, I would go again and again!

We went for a birthday celebration and had a very good time. Opera singers are excellent and entertaining offering superb service. Food is good but not outstanding. A venue to be used for a special event.

We had a fantastic evening, the singing and the food far exceeded my expectations. The staff are all amazing and i cannot recommend this place enough. Also found it really good value considering the quality of food and the talent of the waiters and waitresses.

A cracking evening. Great service and tasty food but the real stars are the singers. Sublime arias, duets and larger groups plus a wonderful pianist. Do go!

Charming performances, reasonable food for a concept restaurant, expensive wine with a decent selection for a venue like this, but this evening managed by an incredibly rude and arrogant manager whose lack of sensitivity to a customer complaint cast an ugly shadow over an otherwise fairly good experience.

My wife and I have never been to the opera and we were a little apprehensive about visiting. There was a nice welcome and it is quite a cosy place. Before too long the singing began. I can honestly say we were blown away; it really is an experience to be close to such talented singers who not only sing but perform. There were four singers who performed the songs some of which were familier to me. The food was very good and the evening represents value for money. Everyone had a smile on their faces and you could tell that the customers and staff were all having a good time. Thanks for making a memorable birthday.

To really enjoy this, you have to love singing, even if you are not knowledgeable about the source of well-known operatic arias, but if you do love singing you will have a fabulous evening! The food is excellent and the singing (by the waiters and waitresses) is equally good, and there was something definitely magical - to this opera enthusiast - about being served dinner by Carmen or the pearl-fishers! Really excellent pianist as well, playing well-known classical pieces when the singers were busy with waitering duties. Of course this is not a cheap place to eat, but given that it is the equivalent of a seat at an opera (or at least a concert recital) and an upmarket meal, it seemed excellent value for what was a truly memorable three hours. Definitely recommended!

This is a very special place, which is made special by the wonderful performers, who in turn made my birthday celebrations very special! The food is well presented and very good. (In fact better than expected). It is served by the most talented and delightful opera singers. We were spell bound by their performances and will definitely return, A special mention must also be made to Sam the pianist. He was special too! All in all, a wonderful evening.

So this was my second visit to Bel Canto and my mothers first time.

My wife and I recently visited Bel Canto for the first time, and what a surprise! Excellent opera, fantastic food and great atmosphere! We made a reservation for 8:30pm which, with hindsight, was a bit late, but we were still able to enjoy more than a handful of excellent opera pieces. We'll try coming by earlier next time!

Great live opera when eating a meal. The waitress / waitresses serve your meal and then break into opera singing . A great evening . The meal was good too. Only minor gripe the wine was expensive !

My friends and I visited Bel Canto for the fourth time and it was even better than the previous visits. The atmosphere was so warm and friendly, buzzing with anticipation. The Manager, Ilya, was so welcoming and we were shown to our table immediately. The singing was absolutely wonderful - the duets were performed with a lot of humour and acting and the solos quite heartbreaking. The quality of the artists is amazing - you can feel the power of those trained voices resonating through your body. The food was so beautiful to look at and delicious to eat all served by the artists themselves in the most efficient and friendly way. They were always on hand to ask any questions about the music which was very interesting. The singing was accompanied by the most fantastic pianist who also played inbetween the performances. He was excellent.

I knew that this was going to be good but it surpassed my expectations.

We were invited to join our family for a special Birthday celebration at this unique restaurant. After reading the reviews we were excited but the evening exceeded all expectations. I was personally blown away by the talented singers and the service was first class. Highly recommend Bel Canto!!
