Bekash Tandoori in Havering

Went here to celebrate my brother's birthday. Over lockdown they have refurbished and the restaurant looks fresh and bright. The staff were friendly and efficient and little personal touches really made our evening special. The food was delicious and overall we had a brilliant evening - We will definitely go back.

Not Impressed, delivery was 45 minutes later than advertised, food was Luke warm and the Lamb Tikka dish was not edible as really tough, onion bhaji overcooked and dry. After reading the reviews of how good this was I was expecting a lot better but have been let down and will not order from here again. Had a mix of main course. Prawn biryaniChicken dhansakLamb jalfreziCheese & garlic naan All was cooked really well. Seasoning was good. Even after a 10 min walk home the food was nice and hot. Served straight from the containers. Can't wait for indoor dining to start again in May. Soley was his usual cheerful and inviting self. A real cheerful place in these hard times

Superb food and service every time I have a meal from this restaurant food delicious and service is second to none Solly is the perfect host and one of the nicest people you could meet along with his staff. I would highly recommend this as a place to eat and can't wait for it to be open properly again after lockdown so I can eat out, will be the 1st place I will be going.

Faultless as always beautiful food and great service, I would highly recommend a takeaway from here and when everything opens again, a visit to the restaurant is a must , again great service and lovely people

Have just ate my delivered Indian meal from Bekash. The best Indian meal we’ve had for a very long time. From the telephone call to order, the gentleman who delivered the food and the actual food itself this experience was faultless.. promised delivery in 40 minutes, it arrived in 35 minutes. The food was delicious, it was hot and the chicken passanda was superb. Solie is a dream, he is just wonderful. My quest for a good Indian restaurant is over, it will always be Bekash from now on. I am from Dallas, Texas USA. I was looking for Indian restaurant and a friend of mine recommended me this place called Bekash. What a great recommendation. The food was amazing and very tasty. Place was neat and clean. It was a takeaway but while I was waiting for my food, the owner Solly was entertaining me. Obviously he never saw me before so asked me where I am from and I told him I am from USA, He was like wow. So definitely I am going back to this place I will be here for three more days. It was worth coming to Bekash. Definitely recommended!

Been using Bekash for the best part of 10 years now and I have never had a bad experience. The food is always top quality and the customer service is amazing. Sully and his team are 100% with everything and even in these Covid times they have still gone above and beyond. I recommend this to everyone

Ordered chicken tikka damask, was really disappointed I could smell oxo as soon as opened it . Nothing like my normal take away . Also the chicken korma came in small container, wasn’t the same size as the Dansak , Everything else was fine.I will not be buying from them from now , kind of put me off

Outstanding Indian restaurant , total spur of the moment google and order , i have found a total gem of a Indian restaurant in Bekash . Lets start with the food i ordered , i had the chicken Jalfrezi and the lamb chops , both were cooked perfectly, the chicken jalfrezi had the right amount of spice and heat , while the lamb chops were cooked perfectly, succulent and melted in my mouth . Light years ahead of any Indian restaurant in the area . Solly the amazingly friendly man who took my order and gave me my food is a credit to the restaurant. 12 out of 10 Thank you for a great take away meal

Tried the Bekash for the first time last week, this will be my new regular takeaway! I ordered vegetarian food, a lot of places don't know how to cater for non meat eaters, they have skilled chefs as the food was flavoured deliciously with the correct textures. Looking forward to my next visit

Lockdown persists and so does the superb food at bekash.We had a right mix of food.Bindi bhajiKing prawn Biryani Chicken dhansakKhema naan Fish special.Food is always excellent and the extra heat and spice we asked for was amply applied. Told when to pick up and was ready on time. Despite a 10 min walk home was wonderfully hot when we had it. The owner deserves credit for keeping a smile on his face and the business open. Keep the wonderful food coming

The food was really good, if anything i think that during lockdown its somehow got better! i decided to do collection today rather than delivery, this way i got out of the house and i was able to pick it up quicker.As i entered the restaurant they had a sanitising station which i was pleased to see. The staff were extremely polite and helpful, payment could be made by cash or card. i can happily say we will be visiting again.

When we arrived at Bekash for dinner, we were greeted by a team of very friendly service staff and were ushered to the table. The restaurant interior and setup was saying "welcome" when you entered the door. The waiter's and the owner were extremely focused on the customers wellbeing from the 1st second.The food was delicious and succulent - highly recommend the Tandoori King Prawn and the Butter Chicken - although we loved every single dish we ordered. It is not always easy to find that blend of amazing food, fabulous drinks and such friendly and attentive service. We love this place and will be back soon.

Just been to Bekash and the food here is sublime, the costomer service is excellent as always. When we visit we are always greeted by a warm and professional staff. The owner always greets us at the door and sees to it that we have everything that we need. I will most definitely keep coming back to this amazing restaurant.

Proper authentic Indian food. I had the sizzling chicken tika with Tarka Dahl and Tandoori roti. The staff were attentive and the seating was really comfortable and all the time observing Covid - 19 regulations. I travel all over the UK for business and will definitely return here again next year

I've been going in the bekash for over 16 years. Solly and his team are the best of the best. Polite, knowledgeable, friendly and always welcoming.Weather you eat in or take away you won't be disappointed with the quality of food.I've just eaten the tiffin cup special chicken, truly amazing, full of flavour and the chicken was stunning, i look forward to having it again.Every meal the bekash have done is a taste sensation, i certainly won't go anywhere else. We popped in for a Friday night curry after a difficult day at work. The restaurant and ambience were superb, with Solly and his staff going out of their way to attend to us.The food was beautifully presented, flavoured and done just as we had requestedWe have dined here many times over the years, but this was the best of all of them.It’s always nice to see Solly, he looks after his customers so well; this is why they keep coming back, making this a successful business. Excellent value for money too!

First time out after a long Spring/Summer at home. Great experience as always, with food on point and service very good. Hands down our favourite Indian restaurant in Romford.

The Bekash is not our nearest restaurant by far but we had been there many years ago. We happened to be walking past a couple of weeks ago and decided to take a trip down memory lane. We were not disappointed as on entry the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I mentioned to the waiter that I only liked fish as a main and he had no hesitation in asking the chef what he could do. The result was an amazing white fish bhuna. The staff were attentive and always on hand for more drinks or food orders. The owner came to our table to check we were ok which means a lot in a busy restaurant. We mentioned that we liked the table we were at and would be back again. We did go back and the owner asked if we would like ‘our’ table again. A small touch but makes a difference.

Excellent food and very friendly service at the new decorated local Indian restaurant. Always order my favourite King Prawn spicy dish and the food is always of highest quality.

Visited this restaurant with my partner on a Friday night and it was a very special experience. I booked by phone with no problems and arrived 10 mins before the reservation time of 8pm. The restaurant was 3/4 full at this time and it was at full capacity by 9pm under covid conditions. The welcome and attention from the staff and Solly the owner was exemplary. The decor is clean and bight and it is a very comfortable restaurant. We were made to feel like VIP’s throughout the whole meal and was well looked after with a service level that I have not experienced at any other restaurant. But now the important part. The food itself is like no other Indian meal I’ve tried. The taste texture colour and presentation is second to none and I have never tried Indian cuisine this good before and I doubt I would find any better in the future. We had the lamb tikka masala, the chicken bhuna, mushroom rice, aloo gobi, and mushroom bhaji and words really can’t do these dishes justice, they were simply amazing. All in all a very special night with amazing food served by friendly attentive staff in a clean comfortable setting. Can not wait to go back.

Im afraid I'm joining the 18% that think that this restaurant is very poor on there take away delivery service...after being given an estimated delivery time through the just eat app confirmation service i still had to chase the restaurant direct after 1hour and 20 minutes and told that my order hadn't left and a free bottle of beer had been added to order and that the driver would call if he had trouble finding the address...30 minutes later i received the call and had to street navigate a professional driver to our address who had already received local landmark details.....alas the food arrived eventually but was cold and tasteless and the portion sizes was unbelievable..this was a £50+order of indian selections for a family get together but was a total embarrassment and anybody that would give this establishment a good review obviously has never experienced good Indian cuisine....poor poor poor

We visited with kids and really enjoyed the atmosphere. All of the staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. All of the food was exquisite especially the Lamb tikka dhansak! Our visit was guided by the excellent reviews and now we’re able to share our own experience. We have now visited on quite a few occasions and the food has been delightfully delicious with the service remaining excellently consistent!

Throughout the meal the waiters were very attentive and the restaurant was light, spacious and airy, rather than darker and small as some Indian restaurants tend to be.We will definitely be returning, thank you.

Me and my husband had our anniversary dinner here. The owner welcomed us in and we ordered our drinks immediately. The range of the menu is great. The staff are very attentive and so friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding as always. We have not been out for a few years but loved coming back to our favourite Indian restaurant. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy the magnificent food.

We love to try new restaurants and we are quite partial to indian cuisine! However this is a little gem that we have been coming back to over and over again for at least 11 year's. We have always found the staff very friendly but... more importantly than that we love their food. The dishes taste as you would expect them to (if not better) the meat is never fatty or gristly, the restaurant is always clean and they have air conditioning (bonus in the hot weather)The price is very reasonable and in fairness we would probably not begrudge them charging a little more.As a bonus we managed to benefit from the "eat out to help out scheme" and our bill only came to £24! We had 4 Poppadoms, 2 starters, 4 other plates of food and 2 drinks each on top. We normally order a takeaway from here, however as it was a rare night where we had a babysitter, we booked in advance and ate in. We did have to wait a little while to be seated, however we did turn up early and in fairness to them Bekash did seat us within a couple of minutes of our booking. 90 minutes later we were stuffed, settling the bill and had a little doggy bag to take home as we couldn't finish everything.It was great to see that Bekash were busy from both takeaways and dine in customers. We truly hope they will be here for many years to come!

Definitely the best service in Romford! Everyone was very pleasant and quick with service, we felt very welcomed and well attended to! We had a lovely chat with the owner. Food was gorgeous, had delicious poppadoms with dips; it was all nicely presented as well, the bekash special was still bubbling and piping hot when it arrived! It was our first visit, but I can say it won’t be the last, because I would love to try all of the food they offer!If the price for food is higher than that at Weatherspoon's, it’s because you pay for 10000x times better food & service ;) A must visit, especially for people who mostly dine around Romford - Bekash is how hospitality should look like in Havering. Take notes.

Best place to go for an Indian. Would highly recommend it. Whenever I’m in Romford I have to pop in. Staff really welcoming, food is fantastic, and I’m loving the new refurb. Can’t fault it. Disappointed to see that someone left a negative review because the price to eat in is higher than take out !? That’s standard. Right ... back to my cold Cobra and poppadoms.

Came with a few friends from north england and was recommended this place. I highly recommend this place as the food was lovely.

We have just come out of this restuarant feeling fleeced as disappointed. We looked at their menu online and woked out it would cost about £40 for a meal for two. We ordered the same in the restaurant and noticed their new paper menus had prices about 30% higher than the ones online! Odd since VAT has been reduced from 20% to 5%. A bill that should have cost £40 ended up costing us over £70. Even with the eat out to help out we ended up paying just over £50 for sub-par food. Lesson learnt. Not coming here again. Forget Eat Out to Help Out. We would have spent LESS just ordering their food as takeaway. Don't appreciate the 30% eat in tax they charged us. See badly handwritten receipt that we cant even read attached. To the management - why have you increased eat in prices by 30% compared to your online menu?

Solly is a great host and the food was as good as ever - I always go for the King Prawn Dhansak and the Nans are always lovely and fresh. I have been going for 20 years and have never had a a bad meal. Make sure you check it out.

Bekash has had a makeover. Has lost that old Indian feeling and come into the 21st century. It is bright and feels airey. The place has lost none of its charm and still has top rate service and food. The owner is in most days and is cheerful and welcoming. The food is spot on. Never any need to complain. As a chef it is a pleasure to have a day off and let others cook for me. It is also great to know what you will get. Even with the covid restrictions it is still the same wonderful place. Would recommend to all to stop in here, say hello and get spoilt with perfect food.

Have had a lovely evening at Bekash Romford. I bought 5 of my friends to my local Indian and everyone has had such a great night, we can not fault the food. The service here is exceptional, we always receive a warm welcome nothing is an problem and we always feel treated. It’s great value for money and having tasted across the menu there is not a lot I Would not recommend. I’ve been visiting Bekash since I was a kid and I still visit now in my 30’s. Solly treats me with such respect every time I visit and the food has never stopped being amazing all these years. Chicken tikka Bhuna was unreal and even though we don’t live around the corner like we used to, we still make the effort to go there purely for the amazing hospitality and amazing food. Best Indian restaurant in Essex.

Perfect as always. Solly (the owner) always makes you feel like a VIP. The improvements he has made during lockdown are perfect, classy, understated and welcoming, he has taken the opportunity to improve the establishment further during lockdown for the better. Wish I still lived locally to visit more often. Great place.
