Amazing food, and the staff are super friendly specially Joe or George as they like to call him Very recommended if u r looking for a middle Eastern food

Lovely surroundings and pleasant staff ,but food was average, mixed grill was dry and lacking Iin flavour. Lamb was tough, but chicken and lamb kebabs was lovely and moist.

We came out for a pre-theatre dinner and really enjoyed our experience. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. There are a range of alcoholic drinks on the menu (a little overpriced) but it is BYOB so would recommend making use of that. I didn’t get photos of everything but would recommend the hummus with lamb, baba ganoush, halloumi and mixed grill platter (photographed). The mixed grill platter is definitely a sharer course. The rice served with the platter was unreal, so so good. The staff were honest when we asked if dishes were big enough for two which was appreciated. Ironically, we ordered way too much of the Lebanese bread but it was great for dipping. The atmosphere was great, it was full by 6pm on a Saturday night and I loved the theming of the restaurant and the music. We will definitely be back again!

A halal food restaurant. The food was very delicious. I recommend trying the grilled meat. The meat is better than the chicken. Trying the vegetable moussaka is very good. The service was excellent. The staff was helpful. The atmosphere was calm. They gave us free dessert with coffee. I recommend trying it. The prices are somewhat average.

We visited last night and had a delicious set meal with a nice Lebanese red wine to go with it. Great place, great food and friendly and attentive service.

Great place, been meaning to go for ages and wasn't disappointed. Good range of food. I've always liked Lebanese food and this is good Lebanese food. Good range of food for vegan, vegetarian and fish,meat dishes. Update: it was so good we took the whole family the next weekend.

Wonderful meal at Beirut this week. We were welcomed by a friendly waiter who took time to offer his thoughts on Lebanese beer, which we tried after his recommendation. It was lovely and light! Complimenting the food so well. The food! Where to begin? It smelled incredible, it tasted even better and there was more than enough of it. I think I'll be dreaming of the chicken until the next time I am lucky enough to visit this restaurant. The prices are so reasonable given the restaurant is in the city centre. We were served complimentary baklava to end our meal, which was a really nice touch. It was also delicious, just like the rest of the meal. Can't wait to visit again when I'm next in Edinburgh!

My wife and I visited here on Wednesday 3rd January, at around 8pm. When we arrived the restaurant was very quiet but it soon started to fill up. We had a very attentive server, who offered us some Lebanese beer, rather than the usual choice. We are glad that he offered this as it was a lovely change and complemented the food well. To start we had hommus and batata harra, both well were presented and very delicious. A nice gap was left between the starters and the mains, we had shish tawouk and the chicken wrap. Once again both were delicious and the portions were very generous. I am very happy that we visited here and we will definitely return when we are next in Edinburgh. Thank you!

Eat here roughly every 3 months. Love it! Always order the 2 person sharing platter. Loads more food than 2 people can eat! Food great, service attentive. Can't fault!

Nothing like Lebanese food at all... Tried: hummus : 5/10 okay Batata harraa: 1/10 Inedible, obviously fried with a very old oil or the potato it self was not good. Shish tawoog: 4/10 oily and with something like Indian spices. Tabbouleh salad: 7/10 it was good. Would not recommend.

Absolutely brilliant! The best in the business. Yes they are somewhat expensive but the quality is supereme! Hummus, falafel, kofta Kabab chicken cubes the tahina, simply top notch stuff! Only place better than this might be in middle east no competition in the UK!

We went there for a baptism dinner. The staff was super friendly, happy to cater to our needs and requirements and at reasonable prices. The food was awesome and wholesome, and extremely abundant.

Dined here with old friend yesterday and it was perfect. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We shared a vegetarian mezze platter and a couple of hot mezze. I couldn't fault it, the moussaka was outstanding. I haven't been here for a number of years but it remains an excellent choice. Very well located too.

Where to start, we went yesterday to Beirut restaurant following our graduation ceremony. The hospitality was exceptional, workers were very friendly and welcoming. Service was great. Food was fresh, tasted good and served well. Portions were very big and we ended up taking lots of food with us. They were very generous and gave us lots of complementary dishes including the sweets in the photo. I found it an amazing gesture added to our celebration. We really enjoyed the experience and it was a great choice to celebrate our graduation. I truly recommend this restaurant and definitely will be visiting again whenever in Edinburgh.

Went there thinking is a great Lebanese restaurant only to get disappointed. Ordered mix grill, lamb shish and kofta only to realised they were microwaved and I bet they were cooked yesterday or the day before. Felt very dry and rubbery. Don't recommend it.

It was an early evening visit and only one other table was ocupied so it is difficult to rate the atmosphere but an interesting selection of middle eastern music was being played. The food was fantastic, highly recommended.

Nice restaurant. The food was cooked real well. The meat balls and chicken tawook were very nice. The staff were generally nice, some of the employees were a little blunt and not too welcoming. The seating inside is nice but the entrance is a little tight. The prices are a bit high for the portion sizes in my opinion.

We visit this restaurant when we come to Edinburgh for the festival as usually great, but we visited last night and was not as impressed. It seems like what is on the menu is not what you get. I ordered 'whole seabass' which were actually fillets. My husband ordered mixed grill, although they originally gave him something different due to confusion when ordering. Despite menu stating mixed grill included chicken wings and lamb chops, he did not get either when served. When we queried, they said they don't do that anymore. Fine, if you decide to change offer but at least update your menu as both descriptions are wrong and we felt a bit cheated as not technically what we ordered! Real shame as usually great experience, but be consistent.

This has been our go to restaurant during the festival for a number of years. Food was always excellent and fantastic value for money. Unfortunately something has gone badly wrong. Food is at best average and prices have rocketed. Would have been just one star if not for the waiting staff who are still really nice and welcoming. Unfortunately we won’t be back.

A really enjoyable meal, service was excellent. We came across this restaurant on our way to one of the Fringe’s courtyards, the restaurant looked full, but we asked if could squeeze the two of us in, preferably inside and they went to great efforts to sort a table, impressive! We only had an hour, before we had to go, and they said it would not be a problem, ordered a starter and a main, and they made sure the mains were ready as soon as we finished the starter. Always serving with a smile, despite being mega busy. And most importantly the food tasted great. Good value too!

Ordered the kibbeh and kesmeh. The most tasteless food ever. Literally no taste whatsoever. Noisy. Toilets were a whole other level of yuck.

Went for dinner, ordered food, and it came out in 2 mins, it was ALL microwaved including the chicken, Kebbah, bread & rice, god knows when was all this cooked :") and was not what I paid for, overpriced.. thankfully we got some discount.. but disrespect to the Lebanese cuisine

Came during the festival. They raised their prices. 7.50 for a pint of lager. Outrageous. Disgusting. Disgraceful. Food is good but over priced. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Food was fine but we didn’t get a chance to enjoy it properly as staff began rushing us out and clearing plates before we had finished. We’d only been sat down for an hour when this started. Not worth the price sadly.

Decent food but shocking service. So not long after taking our seats, which was a small booth in the corner for two .. one of the staff asked us if we would be happy to move for a big group that came in?? (This place takes no bookings mind) we politely said no and brushed it off. As soon as we finished a plate of food they were over whisking our plates away when we hadnt finished full meal... We finished our food and we were halfway through a bottle of wine we had paid for there and were approached by the staff asking if we could pay because there was a group of 10 outside? At this point we both felt very uncomfortable and asked for the bill, after paying (literally as we had just finished our food) they asked us AGAIN if we were finishing soon... so rude... we were there in total less than an hour and a half... When we left there was absolutely no one waiting outside haha 😭🥱 Pacing around our table, firmly at this point I said we would finish our drinks and leave. I never experienced such seedy service before, feels like they want your money and out the door ASAP! Won't be back and would never recommend sadly.

What’s interesting this time is that they have decided to add £4/£5 to each main dish during the festival, they even admitted that tourists will pay, it so why not. Poor way to treat anyone, let alone people that come often. They were even charging £7.75 for a pint of tennents! Pretty embarrassing, what’s actually worse you can tell that the food was just re-heated. The lamb and chicken were dry. I don’t mind a limited menu whilst they’re mega busy, totally understand that, but to add more ££ and take the micky out of tourists and locals is wrong. Won’t be back again and I’d advise if you’re going, avoid during the festival!

Great place for a large family meal.

After a long trip, this was the worst dinner meal I had.. the quality of the food is not as good as expected.. it costed us 47.05£ for a horrible Fattoush (soggy lettuce, lemon and pell pepper only!!!!) along with very hard and dry mix grill.. the portion of the food was very little compared with the price. Sorry but this is not what is expected from a Lebanese restaurant at all..

First time in an authentic Lebanese restaurant and definitely wont be the last , proper middle eastern hospitality and atmosphere with fantastic food well presented by the friendly staff in a small but cosy room. I had the Lamb Kibbeh to start followed by the Shish Tawouk both washed down by a pint of Menebrea . This is an excellent find as its near the daughters new flat so we will be visiting again,highly recommended

My experience at Beirut restaurant was nothing short of extraordinary. The moment I stepped inside, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and courtesy. The food came in very generous portions and was absolutely delectable, a symphony of Lebanese flavours. The immaculate interiors added to the comfortable and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect place to savor the delightful cuisine.

Quite disappointing as a Lebanese cuisine. The typical dishes were not up to expectations. Taboula 3/5. Too course. Bit dry. Fatoush 3/5. No tomatoes. Lots of capsicum. Homous 2/5. Weak flavour. Shesh tawoq 4/5. Bit dry. Lamb skewers 2/5. Too dry. Poor flavour. A bit chewy. Rice 1/5. Too dry. Too plain. Orange juice 1/5. Bottled not fresh. For 3.25 quid. Atmosphere is nice. Old fashioned. Clean. Old torn leather seats. Music 2/5 a wee bit noisy. Staff 4/5. They were excellent. They are helpful. Bit slow on response. Overall. If you look for halal food, they got it. Not the best taste.

Nice decor and plenty of seating. Had chicken shish touwak and chicken kafta, the food came out to our table fast. Sadly the food was very disappointing! It is the worst place I have had lebanese food from.

Can not fault the food. Delicious humous, tasty falafels and a wonderful moussaka stew. Service was friendly and professional. We were however surprised at the cost of the beer. £6 a bottle seems steep. That plus the added service charge did make a meal for two quite expensive. Appreciate you can deduct this charge. The interior needs a freshen up. Same decor as a few years ago and the interior is beginning to look tired. Would we visit again? Yes as the food is great. Will just accept the beer prices!

Went there as a family group for a dinner out. It is a bit different....... The food is OK although my lamb was a bit dry but the general consensus was that generally it was fine. Good value for money so no complaints there. Service was good. However it was a little plain inside and although authentic it did attract some who for some reason didn't even take their coats off. Bit strange when you go out for dinner in the middle of summer.

This place is just second to none. The portion size is always so generous that every menu we ordered was more than enough to make a hungry person full even if it’s a starter or a side dish! The taste is also impeccable. Meat is juicy, well-seasoned, and tender. Service is of course top-notch, especially the owner is super friendly and attentive. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Don’t forget to order the desserts - their baklavas are freshly made and superb.

Went here today, lovely food and polite genuine service.. Both my friend and i have dairy allergies and they actively asked us for insight into how it effects us and others…. We will be back when we come back to Edinburgh Also they gave us a discount because the set meal we had a dessert with dairy in it! Thank you for a great meal!

This is simply a very good restaurant. This was the first time we had Lebanese food and we will definitively go more often. The food was good. The staff is very attentive. A very good experience.

I had the lamb lunch special and my husband had the fish. They were both delicious and our waiter was so nice and helpful. I wish I could eat here every week but sadly I live in a different country. Next time I’m in Edinburgh I will be back.

Ordered out a variety of grilled items, loved them all, lamb sheesh could be better, sauces are good, rice perfect. Chicken sheesh perfect. I asked for garlic sauce but they sent a tahini sauce, not sure if this was a mistake or they are calling things different names, if that is the case, then they need to add garlic sauce the traditional way to the menu.

Wir haben in Edinburgh ein Lokal fürs Abendessen gesucht und wollten keine Touristen-Falle. Eher zufällig haben wir das „Beirut“ gefunden und haben es nicht bereut! Da wir keine Ahnung von libanesischem Essen hatten, haben wir einfach das Menü für 2 Personen bestellt…. und waren dann sehr froh, dass wir seit dem Frühstück nicht gegessen hatten. Das Essen war köstlich, das Dessert (Baklava) haben wir allerdings einpacken lassen. Das Restaurant ist unbedingt zu empfehlen! Auch das Personal hatte Geduld mit uns, unser Englisch ist leider nicht sehr gut.

Excellent vegan options. They have delicious gluten-free bread. The owner, Yusuf, is from Lebanon, he is so friendly. And the very nice gentleman from Portugal is so friendly there. Very much loved the food here. Excellent, vegan and gluten-free options. I personally love the baba ghanoush. .

Very small portion and very expensive. Only 5 fingers of warak Inab (which is canned by the way and not fresh) cost me 8.45£.

Beruit is making a comeback! Funny hey me wrong it's pricy now, we ordered mix grow, hummus with lamb and bread. But i the food is really good. Try and go when it's quieter, the quality is always top, direct ever at all unlike busy times where it can be awesome or ok.
