Two massive thumbs up. The fried gherkins and popperella sticks went perfectly with a few pints of Oktoberfest beer. Fun casual vibe in a really interesting pub. Lots of board games on offer and if you like reading then the men’s urinals have some interesting graffiti.

Absolutely loved this place. They have the best pretzels I’ve ever had in England! Very nice staff, lovely atmosphere, great vegan food.

Was early and therefore empty (first customers in straight after opening) but even though it still manages to have a warm, inviting and fun atmosphere. We liked the music, the vibe was good and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Food, we had hotdogs, and whilst I can't honestly say they were the best we've ever had, they were still good. My partner had the battered pickled gherkins. She liked them. Good selection of ales to boot. Really happy, will go again.

Been a beelzebab fan since the start — undoubtedly the best vegan fast food in Brighton. Everything is fried to perfection, the menu is creative and fun and changes regularly, their social media is hilarious, and it's always a joy to eat there.

Best vegan food I had in Brighton. The hot dog was yummy. I didn't try the other dishes besides the ice cream but I'll definitely be back.

Cool spot with vegan hot dogs, kebabs & more. (Whole menu is vegan!) I went for the ‘Dirty Dog’ tofu dog, which has their seitan doner ‘meat’ & a spicy chilli sauce. Knife & fork recommended! Close to Brighton station, friendly bar & kitchen staff! 💚

I ordered the kebab and was not disappointed. At first glance it does look like 'meat' in a pitta with a bit of tatziki, but more veg lies inside. There were pockets of mild spiciness. I was quite full by the end. Recommended.

The vegan menu is located within the very cool bar! The whole place has a friendly, musical, and colorful vibe to it. The vegan hot dog itself and bun are okay and pretty boring, but the toppings make it pretty good. Would be better with a nicer bun and hot dog, but overall pretty good. I’ve heard good things about the other menu items, but I didn’t get to try them.

5 stars for the vibe. I didn’t care for the vegan dog, likely not their fault. But the chips were great!

We tried the dog o'the month- duck ala orange. I thought it wasn't a very nice combination but just about edible. My partner hated it even saying he has ptsd since!(dramatic I know ha) Maybe stay away from the Ramsay's kitchen nightmares tragic combos in future haha! A beer and pint of coke was a tenner, bit steep! The atmosphere, decor and entrance was cool though as we're the board games, tshirt and video games.

The most incredible food I've ever had, the vegan wings are insane and no fries compare to the currywurst ones!

In town for a few nights and after a long train journey just wanted to chill and fill, the kebab was delicious and the raspberry brownie and ice cream was just the perfect finish

Really nice hoisin fake chicken. Vibes and decorations are amazing. A bit disappointed with the brownie as it was over baked.

This is where all the cool punx hang out in Brighton. I got the dirty dog for a £8.90, it came with onion rings (can opt for fries too) and i enjoyed it with a pint of pale ale. I can only wish there was a punk vegan craft beer bar in my town when i grew up.

I've eaten most things on the menu and yet to find anything that I haven't enjoyed. Big portions and always interesting monthly specials. Hope they bring back the doughnut dog sometime

Visited here with my vegan brother and sister-in-law, who had been recommended it by our local vegan food truck back home. The decor and interior of the place is pretty cool, very eclectic and a mish mash of junk basically! Bar service was good and food was served quickly too. However, my brother told the barman we wanted to pay separately; and he ended up splitting the drinks and the food rather than each couple’s orders, which left us paying more than we had expected! We only realised once we had sat down and couldn’t be bothered to sort out refunds etc, so left it...but it was a little niggle. The food itself was average - I’m vegetarian myself so I’m used to eating meat substitutes, and the doner and hot dog meats were both tasty. My boyfriend and I shared PB&J fries - interesting flavour, but wayyyyy too much of the PB...it drowned the fries! We also had a chilli cheese dog...neither of us were fans of the ‘cheese’ used, which was very liquified and rubbery, with a few raw onions dotted in. The chilli was ok. My brother and SIL weren’t overly impressed with theirs either; not terrible food but certainly not as good as we expected. Luckily it’s cheap as chips (pun intended) otherwise we would have felt a bit cheated.

I go to the place 2 to 4 times a month for lunch, the food is tasty and at a good price, atmosphere always relaxed and informal, owners are great and passionate of their food, one thing i would recommend is more variety of dishes, keep up the good work

Reasonably priced vegan food in the middle of the city.

The kebab was really tasty, perfect texture for the meat and delicious sauces. However I have one major gripe - don't skimp on the salad! There was only a small amount of salad (no lettuce) buried under a mountain of meat - I would have preferred lettuce, both cabbages, pickled chillies, loads of cucumber and tomato but only got a couple bits of each. Otherwise delicious and would definitely be back

the food was very disappointing, good idea in theory but the flavours were not complementary to each other. the only good thing was the 'norm hotdog' that was delicious.

Really nice vegan hot dogs. The cheese and onion rings were delicious too. Buff vvings could be better cooked but the spices were perfect. We'll be back :)

Felt like I was intentionally ignored when waiting to order. I queued to order behind one other, when it was my turn to order the bar staff did not take my order and left me standing there waiting for over 10 minutes while there were no other customers to serve and the place was fairly quiet as a whole. I gave up and a friend managed to find someone who was clearing tables to take our order. Although quick, the food was disappointing. I had the signature Beezlebab kebab, it had a lot of “meat” and red cabbage” but little else, leaving it somewhat bland. The sauce that it did have was watery enough to make the pitta soggy. I imagine this place could be 4* on a good day if you order the right thing, But overall my experience was disappointing.

I had the kebab and it was RIDICULOUS. So delicious. Don't hesitate to go here it's amazing. I would like if the kebab had a little more sauce layered throughout not just on top but honestly that is a tiny criticism to what was an otherwise amazing meal. Staff are very friendly and efficient, in a great spot and very cool, chill decor and environment. Can't recommend more.

Someone made a deal with the devil. The vegan wings here are the best I've had. The vegan kebab? Real close to the real thing, and none of the grease meat would leave you with. Drinks and desserts? Tasty as can be. The Fentiman's Dandelion and Burdock soda is one of my favorites. The vegan ice cream is local and tasty. If you're in Brighton and vegan or vegetarian, this is the best you're gonna find and it's well worth the stop.

This pub has a great relaxed atmosphere. The vegan options are plentiful. If you want to introduce someone to vegan pub grub, this is a great spot. Great service and nice people.

I wanted to like it but ultimately it was vile. The fake sausages/seitan meat were so synthetic. My sister and I felt horrendous afterwards. My sister said she wanted to throw up just to get it out of her stomach. Disgusting!!!

Vegan fast food done right. Been several times, always a steady menu of classics and a few seasonal specials. Great range for pub food. Often hear friends comment they didn't realise the Currywurst is vegan. Seitan can get a lot of flak but these guys do it really well. Highly recommend the seitan donner.

Lovely place, the decor is awesome, the staff friendly. We stayed there just for a quick tea before catching our train back to London and I would definitely go back to try their food too!

Hope and Ruin still offering quality vegan junk food (my number 1 is their delicious vegan chilli, chips n' vegan cheese 😋🤤😋🤤). Loads of vegan options available though and all their booze is vegan too. Great atmosphere for chats downstairs, with bands upstairs. One of my fave hangouts 😍 Oh, and ask Luke the chef if you want the chilli extra hot 🔥🥵

You're probably searching through all the 'best' vegan places in Brighton for somewhere to eat right now - you can stop your search, you've found your place. I cannot tell you how delicious the Dirty Kraut dog and Hoisin Wngs were. Genuinely, it was the best vegan food I've ever eaten. My meat-eater boyfriend agreed that the food was delicious and commented that he would have never known the hotdog was vegan (especially the cheese!). The staff were all lovely and made us feel safe and welcome. I 666% recommend Beelzebab!

I'm not a vegan, but I LOVE THE FOOD HERE. Chilli cheese fries and the currywurst are my favourite. Even meat eaters will love the food. An absolute must for those local to and just visiting Brighton.

Food was OK, not bad but not particularly good either - certainly average when considering Brighton is absolutely sodden with vegan offerings. Service was aloof, kinda felt like we were crashing a friends party- totally understand bar and waiting staff being friendly with one another (especially in these times) but it shouldn't feel at the expense of customer service you know? Maybe a little more professionalism wouldn't kill y'all.

Unique decor and furniture, this pub has its own particular style and atmosphere. They are dog friendly. Their food is fast food style and it is very tasty.

Worst vegetarian/ vegan fast food pub type venue i have been to in the UK. As a vegetarian (mostly vegan) i have visited quite a few vegetarian restaurants in the UK and in particular London where i live and also Bournemouth and Brighton. I was very disappointed with the food and service at Beelzebub. I have eaten out at several pubs and restaurants this year during the era of restrictions and fully respect Covid guidelines. What was different about The Hope and Ruin, and Beelzebub franchise is that the staff did not make us feel welcome and we were forced to order food before they brought us the beer. We were made to feel dishonest. I fully intended to order food and was going to try the loaded hot dog and loaded fries. As is most often the case when you visit a pub for a meal you know what kind of beer you want straight away, but the menu takes a bit more time to decide through, especially in a group of 3. So, we placed an order for 2 pints of Gamma Ray and a coke while we looked through the menu. They brought the coke, but being treat like dishonest little children they would not bring us the beer until we had placed the order for food. We were thirsty and after a morning/ early afternoon walking round Brighton we wanted a beer but we could not have it until we ordered food. I reiterate that i acknowledge Covid rules however EVERY pub i have been to for a meal during restrictions has not treat us like children and not allowed us to have our beer/ order a beer until we also ordered food. I regularly drink Gamma Ray and Camden Pale Ale, and the Gamma Ray did not taste right at all, the pumps must need cleaned or something. We dared not disturb the 2 bar staff who served us and tell them it was not right. I had fully intended to have a couple of dishes but after how we were treated we only got the minimum requirement to sip our beer with which was 2 types of loaded fries. It was a very quick decision what to order so we could get our beer. We got the Fritz's fries and the Meat 'N' Chips. Both dishes were horrible and i even spat out the one bite i had of the Meat N Chips on a side plate i was brought, which i had to ask for before hand, which the server said they don't normally get asked for. Never again, there are so many good vegetarian options in Brighton but this place... stay away!

Really great food, can't even tell it's vegan, and tonnes of exciting options for chips.

We popped in here to grab a plant based kebab on our way back from a night out and were pleasantly surprised how excellent the whole experience was. We stood outside and ordered online (Covid restrictions prevented us from going in) and a piping hot bag of fantastic plant based kebabs and chilli cheesy chips turned up in 10 minutes. They were amazing. Who knew seitan was so tasty. Thoroughly recommend the food.

Always lovely food in the Hope and Ruin, great atmosphere this evening and really friendly staff. Beelzebub was particularly good, but the loaded fries are ace too. Online ordering process was great, and allows you to customise your food. No charge for soda water too which is a bonus!

Super duper friendly staff, very good food with substantial portions, easily located and has a nice airy vibe. Food came in good time a long with the drinks. The digital menu was a bit fiddly even on a new iPhone which was a little annoying but otherwise everything else was great! Will be back next time I’m in B town

Just to clarify. I Am Not A Vegan... but I would easily become one if the food is that tasty. The Doner Kebab. A staple diet for many a weekend for me over the years. The one that was served to me here was by far the most delicious kebab I have ever... EVER eaten. Seriously considering going full vegan since this. Great service.

Proper junk food and some things really hit the spot like the deep fried Brussels sprouts (omg YES) but other things were a bit claggy or strange flavour combinations (cauliflower cheese and parsnip kimchi hot dog..). Overall really nice experience but reckon if the menu was reduced to focus more on show stopping dishes that would really work.

Lovely atmosphere, great drink, I had a hot dog which was delicious. However a member of staff at the bar didn't have the best etiquette... but overall a fantastic place!
