Very disappointing. Have been coming here for years, service is steadily deteriorating and the final straw was when I complained I was told off repeatedly. Not quite sure what happened to customer is always right

Never had a bad meal there yet. From.snacks to main meals we are never disappointed. The service is always super friendly too.

We visited a few times while staying nearby. The place was very clean and the service was friendly and efficient. The food all appears to be home cooked. The baked items were to die for, the choice and quality excellent. Prices were reasonable and lunches were available. There is a childrens play area outside and two seating pods which you can book in advance.

Lovely all day breakfast and the Victoria sponge is yummy too, staff were nice and friendly and the shop has beautiful Christmas things in,

Coffee and walnut cake 🎂🍰 was excellent,very knowledgeable and friendly staff 👍 couldn't do more for me and my wife, unfortunately by the time the wife said she will take a photo I had finished my cake,oops,she had a honeymoon slice and she said it was delicious,we will definitely be back to sample more👍👍💖

Just had to say we are regular vistors to the cafe and love the food great friendly staff but the last few times the food portions have been smaller a bacon roll now has 2 small rasher of bacon but u got more before and traybakes getting smaller as well prices going up sorry to complain but eating out for us is a treat .

I visited on a recommendation by a stranger I got talking to a few miles away. I never knew this place existed but I'm so glad I now do. We came for food and we're asked upon arrival if we had booked and when I said no the lady who served us very kindly offered us a choice of seating which weren't booked. The welcome we recieved was very warm and friendly. We chose to eat indoors but I noticed on the way out the outdoor seating looked amazing, spacious and pretty. The food is fabulous too. I will definitely visit again ☺️

Great wee garden centre, lots of fine and well priced plants. Lot of unusual quirky and nice garden and house items, also a small restaurant area with outside order and pick up point. Love going there with the wife, lovely views from the area.

The restaurant was very nice. Enjoyed the baked potato that I had. Knew the waitress but she was very nice before I remembered her. Went into a pod and was really good. Did not know about the place before I went and it was lovely. Well done

During the past year I have spend many a lovely experience at The Green Bean. Their home-made food and baking is first class and the service is always excellent. The manageress runs the business very efficiently and also brings a smile to anyone's face. It is a cosy, friendly environment and you can buy bakery to take home and they also offer a nice range of gifts, clothing and gardening items in their guest shop. In the summer, you can eat outdoors and don't miss seeing the alpacas in the adjoining garden... a joy to behold!

Maybe not the easiest to find if heading north, (It requires a right turn across the dual carriageway) but a lovely friendly cafe, especially if you need gluten free food.

Lovely food with friendly staff - no problems recommending at all.

Dropped in for a cuppa and a cake. It was lunchtime and the cafe was very busy. We were guided to a table outside and as always we were made very welcome. Lovely cakes and a fresh pot of tea. We even managed to squeeze in a bacon roll and a sausage roll, with an extra sausage for our doggy. Probably better off booking at lunchtime especially if you want to make use of the outside seating pods.

Having heard good things about Green Bean’s gluten free options, we decided to stop in for lunch. The range of gluten free options was impressive, cakes, traybakes, rolls, bread, hash browns, baked potatoes were all available gluten free, with gluten free items being cooked separately where needed. The range of non gluten free options was equally impressive. The outside seating area was great, with plenty of tables available, and even a couple of pods for when the weather is a bit more Scottish. Service was fast, efficient and COVID friendly, and we will definitely be back.

Decided to go local for lunch today and was not disappointed. Table service was excellent and quality and quantity of food was just perfect. Staff following C-19 guidelines and we felt very safe. Booked one of the pods for next Sunday for my daughters birthday lunch. Well done, keep up the good work.

We were heading back home from Aberdeen and rather than going to Castleton we remembered about Beechwood Coffee Shop. We were certainly not disappointed and were delighted that they were doing Festive Lunches . We both selected (Turkey with all the trimmings) at £8.95. It was absolutely beautiful and well presented and cooked to perfection, the Turkey was very tender and you had certainly all the trimmings on your plate. Very pleasant staff and all food is very reasonably priced and home cooked. It is certainly well worth stopping in past as it is just off the A90 and there is ample parking. Give it a try as they serve lovely food.

What a charming place to visit. Beautiful scenery and a very comfortable place to sit and enjoy a meal or just a beverage. The food is excellent and good value served by lovely staff. One of the best!

We took our staff for lunch here on Saturday and it was absolutely fantastic. Having phoned ahead and booked a few weeks beforehand, the service is first class - outstanding. It was a lovely lady called Ruth that I dealt with for the booking and although she was scheduled to have a day off the day we arrived for lunch, she kindly rescheduled to make sure that she would be working so she could meet us and look after us. I cannot rate this coffee shop high enough - the service is second to none. There were 15 of us in total and we were seated in a lovely area which was separate to the main part of the coffee shop. We had a choice of three soups - all homemade and delicious. Then we were presented with lovely large platters with various different kinds of sandwiches, nice garnish in the middle of the platters. Absolutely delicious and plenty to feed us all. Then we had tea/coffee and cakes which we selected from the glass cabinet. The staff are so warm and friendly, Ruth and her daughter were so nice and helpful - good loyal staff are undoubtedly one of the most important assets to any business and Beechwood has certainly got things right. There is a lovely gift shop and garden centre - the menu is extremely reasonable and it is just before Laurencekirk a stonesthrow from the main A90. Please stop by this place - you will not be disappointed, it is first class - simply the best. Way better than the other limited stops on the main A90. The staff are clearly very happy in their work and they are so polite and efficient. I managed to speak to the owner and tell her how pleased we were with everything. We will definitely be back and all 15 of us will spread the word!! Thanks again Beechwood Services and a special thanks to Ruth. Excellent value for money.

This gem of a cafe is tucked away in the countryside. We had a lovely lunch here. My all day breakfast was delicious, my wife had a nice gf toastie and my daughter, the kids mac& cheese and chips. Cake to follow. Very good food and great customer service. Reasonable prices and good menu selection. Well recommended!

Had a cuppa here last week and I have passed this place for ever and didn’t realise it was such a lovely coffee shop. Just been extended so very spacious now. Recommend the raspberry patient cakes. Friendly staff.

Very clean and tidy good for place to go it's not big but a nice selection of garden furniture and accessories tools and plants for your garden and if you feel you'd you fancy some food pot into their cafe for a bite to eat. P.S. have nice day out. james t .

So when you are fed up driving south after struggling through the pathetic traffic of Aberdeen...what do you want? Can you be bothered stopping? Do you want to stop somewhere average that will be packed and poor value? NOPE! Stop somewhere you will feel like you have just visited your aunt! In relative terms its tiny inside and you feel like its almost somebody's family room you are sitting in, but the welcome is fantastic and so is the food. Value for money? Wont be beaten! Quote from my son "Best sausage softie he has ever eaten" and by the way don't miss out on the Victoria sponge if you are lucky enough to get a slice. It's a 10 out of 10 for me and I cannot wait to stop again on my way to Edinburgh airport. Ladies you are brilliant!

Had been recommended to try the café here. Took my grandma here today for lunch, food was lovely, staff were excellent (couldn’t do enough for you) and the price was great too! The shop was full of lovely goodies and a great selection of plants. Was a great place to take my grandma for a wee day out, she can’t wait to go back, this time for a “fly cup” to try the delicious looking cakes and homebakes we didn’t have room for today! :)

We are regular customers to the beechwood cafe and shop fab food and the cakes are to the for and the gift shop has great unusual gift ideas also very helpful and friendly staff worth the visit

Best thing about this place is it's location close to the A90. Service OK, food OK, staff OK. Pretty average.

We try to get down to Beechwood Services Garden Centre and Coffee Shop as much as work allows. The food is delicious and the do an amazing all day breakfast. Garden Centre is superb and has beautiful plants and gifts among the usual garden centre stuff. We highly recommend Beechwood Services Garden Centre and Coffee Shop to anyone who is passing. Yes its off the A90 but only just and so easy to get back onto the main road again. Plenty parking and an amazing outdoor play area for kids. Very friendly and helpful staff in both the coffee shop and garden centre. Very affordable for a family to eat here.

We pooped into the cafe for lunch as a result of recommendations and we were delighted with the freshly made soup and sandwiches. The home baking was particularly good and some of the cakes were very different from what is usually on menus. No doubt we will be back.

Lovely home made soup and home baked cakes (highly recommend the Victoria Sponge). Small place but cosy and welcoming with comfortable seating. They do sandwiches, baked potatoes and all day breakfast. They have a proper coffee machine and serve decent size coffees. Very reasonable priced too
