Quite expensive, but unique. Had the fish and chips that they serve on a Friday they come with bread and butter and mushy peas, I recommend. The meal was plentiful and tasteful, the veg they sell in there shop is always fresh with so much choice and the deli is amazing so much to see, we come back once a month at least.

Have been popping here for years and always impressed with the variety and quality of the food on offer but had never eaten at the restaurant until now. Went on a busy Friday and had to wait 30 mins, but the pager system notifies you when your table is available so you can wander around and browse while waiting so no problem. Lunch was excellent, well prepared and presented and totally delicious, altogether an enjoyable experience.

We were treated like royalty from the start! What super service, staff very attentive throughout. It is a glorious venue; large, airy and busy, but one never feels hemmed in. Excellent menu choices, especially for veggies like us! The array of patisserie at the cake counter was awesome. Elaine served us and was really friendly, helpful and gave sound advice. A very chirpy person. She was easygoing re me needing to take my shoes off!! My 3cheese scone was delicious as was the chilli jam. A good deal for nearly £7, including a fab coffee(top class beans obviously &v smooth). My friend had jacket potato with home-made baked beans&cheese, which she really enjoyed. It was quite costly at £13+(!), but real quality food. What can one say about the gateaux?! My chocolate&raspberry Italian-style cake was to die for! It reminded me of the superb gateaux such as Opera which I ate when I lived in Paris! That is some recommendation, given the quality and reputation of French patisserie! We had a very relaxed hour there, with Elaine just checking we were OK and chatting amicably with us when she could. Afterwards we shopped and made the most of the 75% off on Xmas items. We did really well. I was very impressed by all the beautiful food in the shop and the quality of other items on sale. Staff at the till were extremely solicitous, given the amount of stuff we'd bought! Thanks everyone at Beckworth Emporium and particularly Elaine. We'll be back! Maggie and Marianne

Quite a wait but afternoon tea was very OK except Latte was Luke warm. Asked for a second cup, this time filter coffee, by the time you have added cold milk result is also Luke warm coffee. Ordered chips and these were not as good as on previous occasions. Considering the cost of the food the experience I think is going slightly downhill. Clotted cream served in Rhoda's tubs and jam in little jars is not what you would expect as you can get these in any cafe. You expect something a little bit special at Beckworth. That being said the cakes were good although I'm sure you used to get chocolates.

I visited the Emporium today, 03/12/2023 and on the way, saw a pack of fresh Blueberries (£2.99 per pack) with rotten, fungus covered Blueberries in it. I took the product to the Security Guard on the left near the exit door and said that I felt having this on display was disgusting. He replied that the felt "it is not disgusting at all". I will not visit the Emporium again, never mind shopping there. Unfortunately, I did not take a photo to share with the readers of this post.

I used to come here a lot. The last couple of times I have given them the benefit of the doubt. However yesterday will be my last visit until it improves. The food quality has considerably gone down hill, Costa’s panini’s have more filling than beckworth’s and that is saying something. The prices have stayed the same but food quality and service has drastically changed for the worse. The food was cold, the chips were over fried and the afternoon Tea, left a lot to be desired. What a shame it used to be one of my favourite places to go to! As usual a greedy garden centre chain has taken them over bring back the previous owners!

We live near by and used to go every month or so for lunch, but I won't be returning for food until I hear it has improved. What a disappointment. We have been loyal customers of Beckworth for over 5 years, but that’s no longer the case. We visited Beckworth on 27 October and the customer service from staff in the restaurant was none existent. They had run out of the soup one of my party ordered (this happens) but a senior member of the restaurant staff called across to the table to ask, almost as an after thought, if we were aware. We weren’t and no apology was given, though the table next to us received not one but two apologies. The poor service continued, but I won’t prolong this text when my point has been made. The Beckworth burger also no longer comes with a brioche bun, so fans of that may miss the luxury the burger once had. We were so shocked by the restaurant service that we left a basket of goods we were planning to purchase behind. The food court is still fantastic, but seeing a member of staff crouch down behind the counter to check their phone isn’t quite the standard Beckworth once hand.

Not as good since sold. Beware of the Pate on the menu, says it’s vegetarian but it’s not. Instead of resolving this by covering the vegetarian sign up below it they are waiting for the new menu in a couple of weeks and relying on staff to remember to tell guests it’s not vegetarian…. Not a very clever idea… club sandwich chicken dry as a bone and bread so hard it shreds your gums! The Christmas market area looks “makeshift” and prices seem to be going up, somethings are way overpriced. Disappointing.

Our food came out luke warm, we spent 10 minutes trying to get someone's attention for sauce and more drinks as when the food came the waitress didn't even speak let alone ask if we needed anything else. It has a large food hall with loads of wonderful bits and pieces , a showpiece very large glasshouse restaurant which serves a superb range of things to eat and drink from an extensive menu- difficult to choose but it’s all very yummy. Has a large outdoor garden section, inside is a sizeable range of home bits, gifts and toiletries etc , one thing that is more minimalist is indoor plants- this is something they are not hot on . Afternoon tea. Although there were lots of free tables we had to wait for half hour at 2pm Friday afternoon. Given a loud buzzer then wait to hand it in. Taken to a table, no rappor at all. Table was by the payment area. Behind my husband 2 really loud women discussing the till with one or 2 employees. Served by very nice trainee lad. Small latte coffee followed about 5 mins later by a tray of 8 quarter sandwiches, all packet white bread except egg which were on packet brown. 2 scores warm, cream jam half strawberry and 2 blueberries. 2 trifles in shot glasses, 2 shortbread biscuits with toppings, 2 carrot cakes. Cost £34. All tasted really fresh and lovely. If you could book it would be a superb place. Many people complaining they only wanted tea and cake but had long wait. Wasn't keen on the Black sort of uniforms staff had, looked grubby and down market for a bit of a pretentious expensive place. Food was very expensive. Plants looked very good, all well maintained. Toilets were excellent, clean and stylish. Parking was easy, although we have been vefore and parking was difficult. Excellent for disabilities within the structure. Car park is concrete and shingle which with a broken ankle I found difficult. Would I go again? Maybe, but they really need a reservation service.

The atmosphere, cleanliness, staff are all great you can't fault it. We were given an afternoon tea voucher which should have cost £32 for two, I felt it was a bit uneventful, the vegetarian sandwich choices are a bit boring now and I felt the portion size was a bit small for the cost. The sandwiches are cheese and tomato, cucumber and egg. I think in this economic climate it felt a bit expensive for what it was. Either reduce the cost a bit or improve the sandwiches and cakes for the price. The little carrot cake was nice, but the biscuit with a blob of cream on top was a bit mahhh.

Been to Beckworth a few times and it is a nice place for the unusual things you wouldn't find in a normal supermarket. It is extremely pricey and have started to notice marked up products that you can buy in your usual everyday supermarket at a fraction of the price also. So not everything is local and unique. We noticed that the few times we have been we saw people with their dogs grabbing their shopping so thought OK today we will bring our little dog with us this time. After about 20 minutes in there placing items in our trolley a member of staff approached us and informed us dogs are not allowed. We did question as we have seen dogs in there on each time we have visited but she said they may have been service dogs. They wasn't, they were pet dogs with no service labeling on them. However if these are the rules it might be best to put up a no pet dogs only service dogs sign up like Whites Nurseries does down the road in Earls Barton. Not sure if rules have changed and that's why we saw people with dogs a few weeks ago and members of family who have visited have also taken their dog with them but just be aware you can not take your dog inside if anyone else was thinking of doing so.

Good place to visit with a lovely restaurant. Lots of stock for the garden bits and pieces and a lovely food hall to browse. Like most of these places the products are more expensive but they are of good quality. Very popular but plenty of free parking.

First time visiting this afternoon from the Midlands and really enjoyed our experience. Lots of quality food, household and garden items. Excellent restaurant with staff who take pride in their service. Definitely recommend and will return.

It's a lovely place to meet for breakfast. The food hall is fabulous and the garden centre is good. Amazing loos! Just be prepared for how expensive it is.

Whilst the service and presentation and staff were all faultless, the restaurant left a lot to be desired. I was seriously annoyed at the incredibly poor choice of food available that was dairy free. Most of the dairy free food, was vegetarian or vegan, which I'm neither. They had a dairy free cheese alternative, but the make you use is very a very poor substitute. No soups are dairy free, and all but one salad isn't offered dairy free. Most meals are offered with cheese or cream within them, leaving a very poor choice left. You might have dairy free substitutes available but put them on the menu, instead of leaving it to staff to remember. I begrudgingly went with the burger, because the idea of smoked salmon slathered in a herb mayo, instead of a lemon cream sounded overwhelming against smoked salmon. The burger came with a bland tasteless coleslaw. It came with what tasted like precooked bacon on the burger. The burger itself wasn't nicely cooked with any kind of char or crust from a hard fry, nor was it juicy. No mustard on a burger? No real condiments on the table like mustard or fresh black pepper from a mill. No vinegar in a shaker, just from a sauce pot? (Huh?) Chips are straight from a frozen packet. The salad had a weird sweet flavoured dressing to it. My mum went with the quiche and potatoes with a salad. The quiche was dry, and the potatoes badly reheated, leaving them also dry inside with a shriveled skin. Just disappointing overall. Also, there's a weird, very obvious gender imbalance going on with the waitering staff being entirely female. The last time I came here I really enjoyed the food and sandwiches, but today, eating again, I would not come back again with such a poor menu, with very bland food on offer, mostly reheated so badly it appears and tastes ruined.

This is a top class outlet, selling wonderful fresh food of all kinds. A wonderful garden centre with top class plants in excellent condition. A wonderful, very large restaurant with excellent food. It is always busy but you soon get a table and your food arrives very quickly. Staff are very polite and friendly. It is a great day out. A great place to go for gifts for all age groups. Highly recommended.

Always a lovely morning/afternoon out. Beckworth has lots of cool quirky items you won't find elsewhere, and of course then there's the outdoor garden centre and houseplants. The restaurant in the glasshouse is always busy, however service is extremely quick and always on point. Prices are a little on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. Good quality, and as I said already, unique too!

Food served at the restaurant was of questionable quality and tasted funky. Complaints policy and service is non existent, unfortunately they don’t care for their customers and have proved it multiple times. Avoid at all costs.
