They have all of the local beers as there run by the local brewery. The outdoor venue is very surprising as its massive and you wouldn't know it was there with wooden decking outdoor bar and pizza station. Must have place to go in Congleton.

Lovely little bar/pub, independent as well. Spoke with an owner who is a lovely chap, told us a little story of this town (and bears). Decent prices, they do food pop ups. Highly recommend if you are visiting the area!

What a great place and most importantly fantastic beers. We only had a couple of hours in here but could have quite easily spent longer. Great selection of drinks and something for everyone. Will be paying you another visit soon 🍺

Looks simple enough out-front, but indoors and out back is lovely. The staff were great, greeting us from the moment we walked in and offering drink and food suggestions. The food is provided by pop-ups, so different each time and always tasty.

Friendly staff, great selection of their own ales plus loads of cans in the fridges. Card games on the tables, children and dogs welcome.

Must be one of the best pubs. Local brewed ales. Yummy 😋

Nice pub. The bar staff and the menu said that food is offered until 9,supposedly, but we went down at 8.30 and were told by the staff that they'd stopped serving food ,which was disappointing.

Lovely bar. Good atmosphere and live music on the Saturday, pleasant surroundings and decent beers though it's a pity there wasn't a mild or stout on. There was a menu on the table so we decided to order something so asked at the bar where we order. Was directed to a hatch outside where we were told they were no longer serving food! It was 8-15pm. You'd have thought the bar staff would have known and why leave the menus which don't have the serving times on them on the tables.

Nice venue, visited twice now for the Congleton blues festival to watch The Marauders. It's a nice pub, beer garden is multilevel. Band is usually on the lower level with everbody viewing from Overhead. Gets very busy, bit crowded but great atmosphere. Has a pop up fresh pizza stall on occasion. Love the beartown ale, great pint.

Definitely worth a visit..something on most nights... street food night, pizza and a pint, quiz nights plus a band playing once a week.

Went to the pub quiz, which is on a Wednesday night, and had a fantastic evening. Definitely going back again. All the staff are friendly, polite and helpful.

Visited on 3 occasions and received excellent customer service from all the friendly bar staff. We also really enjoyed the food served by Pul'd Yorkshire pudding wraps 😋 pigs in blankets with roast potatoes & dipping gravy 😊

The destination for cask ale in Congleton. Thr only downside is it doesn't open until the chippy a couple of doors down has closed after lunch.

We visited the Beartown Tap with our two dogs when travelling through Congleton on our narrowboat. What a great place, dog friendly, a fantastic choice of both cask and keg ales for a good price, friendly locals, great atmosphere and a pub that attracts people of all ages. They occasionally have visiting street food vendors who take over the kitchen. The night we were there they had some Indo-Caribbean food on, nice food, cooked fresh, we were given a buzzer to let us know when it was ready, but we felt it was overpriced for what it was (see photo). The Beartown Tap is definitely somewhere to visit when in Congleton, it’s an ale drinker’s paradise. Worth noting they also offer the tasting paddles too. We’ll definitely make a return visit next time we’re in the area.

Loved it for Pizza and Pint night Tuesday! Great deal on the food nights and prices on drinks are good.

Great range of drinks both local and other serves by friendly staff with local craic.Food depends upon visiting food concessions so varies but oth times however that I ate were above average and interesting options ie indian,mexican etc. Live music occasionally too but I haven't been there when music was on. Worth a visit.

Been drinking here off and on for 20 years. It gets better as time goes on. It's a bit like the Tardis without Dr Who. You can travel in space and time on the Beartown beer!

Called on Friday night to experience the "Sri Lanka" Street food. The food was great. The Beartown is a proper town centre pub. Very vibrant and friendly. Made up of several areas over a couple of floors with a very good outdoor area which is both warm and covered. Great venue.

Good pub with a solid selection of beers and a decent sized area at the back. Plenty going on throughout the week - pizza + pint on a Tuesday, quiz on a Wednesday, street food on a Friday etc. Well worth a visit.

Lovely place! On the small size so can get busy but everyone is lovely, nice staff, chilled environment. Quiz night on Wednesdays. Food looks good too.

16/10/22: a flying visit to the Beartown Brewery - The Den, as part of our down south return trip. Wish I'd have had more time and gone to the Tap. We'd been to Hemel Hempstead for the weekend staying with friends and had done a Bethnal Green Ale Trail. I thought as Beartown was on the way home, it'd be rude not to stop. What a brief, but fantastic experience and came away with quite a few goodies. We bought some fantastic favourites from The Den and had a quick look round the brewery, where a lot of the magic happens. We got Polar, Peach Melbear, Bluebeary, Inception, Creme Bearlee, Kahuna, Claws and Bruin's. Being a traditionalist and not liking change, I'm still to adapt to the new logo/branding, but it is growing on me. Beartown for the unknowing have an amazing selection of beers, with a taste to suit everyone. At The Den, which is separate to the Beartown Tap (around the corner) they offer a workspace for daily duties, OR just visit and sample as much as you want and taste the range of wonderfulness that they off on their 13 tapped lines (not all running). I've previously enjoyed (during lockdown) the beer tasting online session 'Hibearnation' which seem now to be reserved to monthly subscribers. I would be very happy to see the return for non-subscribers to enjoy tasting session at home as the boxes received were top notch, paired with tasty treats and the 'talk' exceptional! Thanks to the chap at The Den I also managed to bag a few 'pump toppers' which I have mounted and will be displayed in our home bar The Dog House MMXXI (Insta)

Beer top class but ran out of cider ( a one off). Friendly pub, table a " bit sticky" don't forget to rinse your cloth. I'll go again with the lads.

Lovely friendly place with very knowledgeable staff. The beers are reasonably priced and very well looked after (as you would expect). Nice decor, they have bar games and the outdoor area is excellent. They only do food a couple of days a week though.

Loved this venue, set over multiple levels, the area out the back is great for live music. Really loved the Jazz&Blues festival here. They also have a catering area with a selection of 'street food' vendors that rotate every few weeks. The street food vendors are great and they've also stated offering their own food, in addition Reasonably priced, also good for a quiet early evening beer. The Wood Fired Pizza on a Tuesday is great, and goes with a Pizza+Pint deal

Beer excellent entertainment amazing bar staff so helpful. I recommend it to anyone.

Went for the street food event on Fri drinks are really good selections but food for pulled pork wrap and beef brisket butty without the "butty" and wrap only one small tiny child portion but £7 per portion felt over priced. Maybe just go for drinks instead or get some big lads to order yrs food just to be safe to get the equal portion!

The Beartown Tap is a great local pub. It has a range of fantastic beers, the staff are welcoming and have a good knowledge of beers. It has a great beer garden to the rear. A highlight in Congleton and a worthy recommendation.

The pizza and pint night and the events nights are great!

Beartown are one of the best local breweries, offering some of the nicest and most interesting ales going - South Cheshire, North Staffs and Shropshire have some top class breweries between them. We dropped by recently after a meal at the brilliant Four Friends (Tibetan) in town, I had a pint of the absolutely cracking Creme Bearlee. Now I've been selfless and done a lot of product testing of this one, and I must say in a way the variance in flavours across the pints does assure me that it's not some mass-automation piss-swill plant like say a Budweiser. The pub clearly knows how to keep their ale and had some really interesting Neon Raptor guests on, which were enjoyable. Keep doing what you're doing guys, maybe avoid Brew Dog!
