Bears paw inn in Cheshire East

An excellent lunch. Thanks to the chef for providing beautifully cooked food served on really hot plates, to the serving staff who were so helpful, friendly and efficient throughout. Certainly a place to recommend to friends. Thank you all.

I really like the food, seating a bit cramped, can get very noisy, service good, however be sure to check your bill, been given the wrong one twice, easy mistake to make but never an apology. Try and book a table in the main room if you can, but as others have said could do with a roaring fire. That being said, I still love this pub and its food.

Excellent meal at The Bears Paw. Have been before and always wonder if it will be as good. No problem with that the food was fantastic and such great value. Will be back soon.

Had an excellent lunch today from the Christmas Menu. Had salmon which was just so delicious. . So fresh and well cooked and beautifully presented. The beans, sprouts and potatoes were also excellent as was the sauce. Importantly the plate was really very hot. Makes such a difference to the meal. Followed this with the Chocolate Brownie which also was so delightfully presented and tasty. This was followed by Coffee and a mince pie. Pastry was excellent and this was served hot. My compliments to the chef and also the lovely ladies who served us. One of the best meals I have had in a restaurant for a while.

Huge thanks for squeezing us in when we turned up last Friday on our way to Liverpool. Fabulous lunch served by lovely friendly people. The choice was amazing and the food was so tasty too. Highly recommend.

Called here for lunch and drinks. Pleasant pub thats actually more like a restaurant, very well decorated and friendly staff. We prefer a cosy pub but hey ho. We were unlucky to be seated in a small snug. There was a table of 4 elderly folk, perhaps hard of hearing across the snug and we could clearly hear every shouted word of their conversation discussing who in their family had covid and every detail of it. Wife had fish and chips which was a large fish and ample chips. No complaints, pretty good. I plumped for chicken “stuffed” with black pudding , pepper sauce served with new potatoes and veg. This wasn’t quite so good. 3 really tiny new potatoes, two pieces of chicken with a tiny hint of black pudding. The chicken was dry but it was quite tasty but i was left feeling hungry after it, i should have gone for chips which looked a larger portion. The veg was lovely though. I had a couple of pints of their own cask beer which was nice and would have stayed for a couple more but for the atmosphere in the “snug”. The main room looked more appealing but we wont return incase we get stuck in the snug listening to shouty retirees again.

Had lunch at the Bear’s Paw today. Good selection of dishes on the set price menu. Great service from start to finish. The food was perfectly cooked and presented and definitely came away feeling full and well fed. Pie of the day was steak, ale and mushroom pie served with a choice of chips/new potatoes with fresh vegetables - excellent 🙂 Thanks for a really good and affordable meal.

Spent a night here as a birthday treat and loved everything about the place. The bedroom was gorgeous and immaculately presented. Bar and eating areas are comfortable and well laid out. Extremely dog friendly and the staff were, without exception, helpful friendly and attentive. All told, a lovely place where big and small things are well done. Highly recommended.

We used Tripadvisor to select this atmospheric pub and were not disappointed; it was so good that we went back 2 days later for another evening meal ! On our first visit, we had the pork loin special and gammon steak and one of us also had the fruit crumble with custard. This is a really old world pub with lots of beams and nooks and crannies to eat. The service was first class and the food was all delicious. Highly recommended.

Went to the Bears Paw last Friday 11th August with a friend. We hadn’t booked and arrived at about 7 ,clock. The young lady gave us lovely table but did explain there would be a twenty minute wait before they could take our order as they were extremely busy in the kitchen, that was no problem for us, we ordered drinks and just chilled. The food and service was excellent. Everything was perfectly cooked and really hot, definitely recommend the place. They also have a lovely covered outside dining area.

Stayed for a couple of nights for evening meals and breakfast. Lovely room with good food and great staff.

We had a lovely walk around Tatton Park and took a short drive from Knutsford to The Bear's Paw. The fish and chips was first class.

First timers. Booked for lunch today as we had read the reviews. We were booked into the covered outside area which had a lovely atmosphere and had cushions on the chairs which were very comfy! Very friendly and accommodating staff, who coped with all our requests. The starters; the camembert & the mushrooms on ciabatta were lovely although I found the duck spring rolls a little small and bland. All the mains; roast beef and lamb shank were great, however the real stars were the puddings 🍮 creme brulee and bread and butter puddings - absolutely fantastic 😀. With our soft drinks the bill was £93 which we thought was good value for the quality and amount of food. Definitely recommend 👌 👍 👏

Went to the Bears Paw with three friends for Sunday lunch. Food, drink, service by all the staff was fantastic. Every thing was cooked to perfection and really nicely served. There was no rush and we were given a little time between courses which was excellent. Highly recommend you try it.
