It was a great experience to dine-in this evening. Great food, live atmosphere and wonderful staff.

Not an Italian run place, very slow service however very nice people and pizza was good

We went there for an early Valentine's day meal due to work patterns. The staff were so attentive and even stayed open until we wanted to leave. We didn't know they were closing. The food was exquisite. Reasonably priced. If I had any room left I would of had dessert. But as it was we had a sharing board, 2 mains, a bottle of wine and two beers. Would highly recommend going and giving it a go. We will be going back. Thank you ladies

Rather disappointing. No atmosphere. 'Floppy' pizzas. I read it was Italian family run....by Indians..??🤷‍♀️ no Italians serving.

What can I say. One of the best pizzas I have ever had the pleasure to eat. The chicken speciality dish my wife had was excellent. The staff and wine were spot on. Thanks for a lovely evening.

Lovely little (very little) Italian serving fantastic pizzas and calzones and a selection of other dishes. We went on a busy Saturday night and had a great time. Really interesting pizza toppings! I recommend the Pizza do Putecaro for a taste sensation! Lots of Gluten-free options too. Bravo 👌

Amazing pizza and lovely staff - definitely worth a visit

Well what a find we went to an indian but jammed in a corner load horrible so we left, on are walk to find some where else we spotted this places, we walked in and met with a smile shown a table, everything was nice and timed to perfection, we ordered a starter for 2 amazing flavours, my miss ordered the best burger she's ever tasted in a amazing rustic bun with side salad, I had a goat cheese pizza which was amazing the food was fresh we didn't feel uncomfortably stuffed we were happy with the price as the hole package was fantastic and we left smiling so thank you for the great expireance and food.😁

I usually don't leave any reviews but I tried this restaurant today. I ordered pizza bufala. It was the best pizza ever! I definitely recommend this restaurant.

The food was OK. Several silverware could have been cleaner.

My friend and I ate here this evening before watching a film at the plaza cinema a 2minute walk away. I had seen this place on the map and often thought i should try it. On first glance this little restaurant doesn't look much but don't judge a book by its cover, go inside and enjoy the pizza. On arrival the place was quiet bar one couple enjoying their food. The lovely waitress/possible owner took a little while to greet us but once she did I can't complain. We quickly ordered our food and beverage each. Whilst we chatted they decided to put some questionable pop/rap/rnb music on which was a bit louder than background music so I had to pay attention to my friends conversation. However all can he forgiven as when our pizzas arrived they were authentic and delicious. Having been to Italy multiple times I can confirm these Woodfired sour dough pizzas in Dorset are fantastic. The waitress also checked on us a couple of times which i appreciate. Great little find. A shame for the owners that it wasn't busier as they deserve to have more footfall on a Friday night. The bill was very reasonable. 2 soft drinks and 2 pizzas was just over £35.00. I will 100% be returning with my partner and no doubt with my friend again.

A good 20 or so of us challenged their accommodation and oven capacity the other night, but they were friendly and worked hard to get our orders right and out in good time. The pizzas were gorgeous and we all had a great time.

I used to live in Rome, and have to say that the pizza in Basilico is the best I've ever eaten in England. The crust is perfect, the ingredients fresh and excellently blended. Delicious. Service is good, atmosphere friendly. Also, the staff are well-informed about allergy issues, and my grandson greatly enjoyed his gluten-free pepperoni. Highly recommended.

After a day out in Bournemouth we really fancied italian for dinner, I google searched italian restaurants on our way home and this restaurant popped up, we thought we would take a chance and we were not disappointed! The staff were really friendly and the food was amazing! We have 2 small children and we were worried what the atmosphere might be like but it was fantastic, we were all greeted in a friendly manner and made to feel so welcome, the food was amazing and we all cleared our plates. Would definitely recommend families giving this a try.

Ordered two pizzas and a garlic bread for takeaway, and everything was DELICIOUS 🤤 The toppings seemed fresh and the pizza base had the perfect chew. Loved it! During pickup the staff were super friendly and helpful, which was awesome considering how busy they were! Definitely a must try in Dorchester.

Fantastic evening with friends at this beautiful and authentic Italian restaurant. The food was perfect, the service was above and beyond welcoming, we could have (and nearly did!) stay all night! Would recommend to all who live in or are visiting Dorchester.

Simply amazing! What a warm, welcoming place with fabulous Italian food. We were accommodated at short notice and given the best service by Georgia and Gennaro. Pizzas were absolutely the best "this side of Napoli" and limoncello was divine! Thank you for a perfect evening :)

Customer service? Not a clue. You've been warned. 8pm Sat night reservation not honoured. They just closed and sent us on our way. Go next door to Tapas bar - Corto Maltese - really good.

What a lovely find. A little piece of Italy in Dorchester. The owner and chef made you feel very welcome and the food was homemade and very tasty. Can’t fault it at all. I would highly recommend that you try this lovely independent family restaurant.

Pleasant atmosphere and service, however the food was a little bland for our tastes, not super expensive, although I do firmly believe tipping should be a consumer choice, rewarding good service. Adding 12% to my bill ticks me off. The service was good and the tip would have been similar to that which was added, but it should be down to the customer. Edit: It may be that I chose poorly ! I had not seen the combination before, which was why I went for it. Changing the ingredients could make my choice similar to another offering, however both the meat and the soft cheese were very delicately flavoured, too delicate for me. A goats cheese could boost the flavour, but then i suspect the meat would need to be swapped out too as it would be out of its depth. Its not a problem that I would want. Good luck.

Nice intimate setting and incredibly friendly staff. The food was absolutely delicious and they had a good selection of wines, spirits, and beers. Quality of the food was exceptional and the atmosphere was perfect.

Best pizzas and host around! Gennaro does not only make exceptional pizzas but is also a wonderful person who is polite, friendly and professional. As a half Italian I can hand on heart say Basilico makes the best authentic Italian pizzas in Dorchester and beyond. We recently (10/7/21) used Basilico for our wedding evening food. Gennaro was extremely accommodating (despite pandemic), punctual and provided wonderful pizzas, served from his great pizza van. We received excellent feedback from our guests. I highly recommend Basilico for eat in or for event hire.

Booked last minute, height of summer, found us a table outside. Superb food, terrific staff. Immeasurably better than a soulless chain.

The old buildings were closed because of Covid but looked interesting and inviting will be back when open. Would make a great film set lovely Old Lane and shop fronts.

We ate here this evening and had a fabulous experience. Wonderful, authentic Italian food and great atmosphere. Even the teenagers were happy with the pizza and banter. Highly recommend.

We just ordered from Deliveroo, and I honestly couldn't be happier. It might be the nicest pizza that I have had in months - including all of the nearby chains. Definitely will be ordering from there again, and visiting when it reopens.

The food is absolutely delicious, having traveled to Italy on many occasions, the food here at Basilco is just as good as anywhere else I've ever eaten, outstanding every time!

Genaro and Sara are great hosts - my son's most favourite place to eat. I love it too. The wood fired pizza is out of this world. The antipasti is my favoutite although I have to be sure to be really hungry. I can't wait for you to be open again!

Just had a takeaway Carnivora pizza from here. Loads of meat topping, good pizza base and a lovely flavour from the right amount of spiciness . Would definitely recommend. The friendliness of the staff also merits a mention.

Had a lovely meal here at Halloween. I had the gnocci and my friend had a pizza, both were delicious. Followed by Tiramisu. I'd definitely come back again or if you're local you get order takeaway from them, as they were quite busy during our meal with deliveries being taken out.

Small but quaint restaurant in Dorchester but truly authentic Italian experience. The food was extremely tasty. Fresh, tasty vegetables as if we were Italy, amazing seasoning in all dishes. The pizza dough was soft and light, which is rarely found in pizzas these days. Amazing. The owner and also cook came and had a nice chat with us as well during and after the meal - lovely little touch.

Basili.co brings true Italian flavours to Dorchester. Gennaro and Sara are excellent hosts and always make me feel so welcome. The pizzas's are authentic, made with the finest quality ingredients. I highly recommend mac & cheese with cheesy garlic bread, to start! This dish is a small piece of heaven. Basili.co also have their own beer Highly recommended.

Great food and friendly service

Me and my friends had a wonderful evening and all of us enjoyed our dinner, we all tried different pizzas and pasta and it was absolutely delicious! No complaints from anyone, my pizza was cooked perfectly and they added the toppings and made it half and half even though they don’t normally do that with the two pizzas I wanted! Will be returning again and again! I recommend the Contadina and Parmigiana pizzas!

We often come here as a couple for a quick meal and always have a brilliant night, so thought why not bring the family when they’re visiting! The food was fantastic, the sharing platter was packed full of fresh ingredients and the mains were all delicious - two pizzas & two pasta dishes. Genaro & his team were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere inside was great. We felt at ease with the current distancing measures in place. We will definitely be returning, with all of our family & friends on future visits!

We visited as a family of three, Genaro managed to fit us in even though they were fully booked. We started with the breads and oils which were perfect; we then ate Carnivora pizza and a tagilere misto. The food was outstanding; it arrived speedily; the flavour and quality were exceptional. The waitress was friendly, attentive and efficient. The house red wine is delicious! Genaro and Sara are perfect hosts; I would strongly recommend you visit if you are in the area.

Had a lovely meal at Basilico. The pizzas we had were really well cooked, a little different and very tasty. My son had Mac and Cheese and it was excellent, one of the best he's had when out. Add to this the lady serving was helpful and very friendly, and the chef was a great character who interacted with all of the customers with humour. Only thing worth knowing is that they don't do children's portions and recommend that children share an adult portion. Wasn't a problem for us as the kids loved the food so much they had a whole adult portion each!

Absolutely the best pizza anywhere, we visited here Thursday 20th August and was not disappointed. The owner and the lady serving were so friendly and chatty and the relaxed atmosphere made us feel as if we were in an Italian pizzeria in Naples or Rome! The food is divine from the tasty starters to delicious pizzas and chicken dish we enjoyed. Louise and Luke both opted for a dessert of chocolate, banana and salted caramel on a dough type base and said it was the best thing they had ever eaten. So it’s a big thumbs up from us. If you miss this place by going to the chains then you are missing a treat! Thank you

This restaurant may be small but it is mighty! Had a fabulous meal here, the pizzas are fantastic, well in fact all the food is. The restaurant was busy but social distancing was perfect. The staff and owners were friendly and nothing is too much trouble. This certainly won’t be our last visit.
