Barracuda Take Away and Restaurant in Harrow

My Lady Companion and I have not been able to frequent this venue as much as we would have preferred in recent times but were delighted to have renewed that relationship tonight, The service and cuisine was still as excellent as it always been and no doubt we will be revisiting again some time soon. The service and the wonderful food from the Amazing Yannis is just great. As a family we have traveled a lot & tried a lot of good bad & really forgettable food, but we keep coming back to Barracuda Harrow as you always get a friendly welcome from Yannis & words of wisdom with food cooked with love every time

Visited today with friends on the Barracuda's first night of opening post the latest lockdown. We were not disappointed. Yannis was the usual fantastic host. His new staff, though "inexperienced " were attentive and consciousness and made for a lovely evening.

Due to lock down and the restaurant is not open all we can do is get a take away. And by God it's the best fish around .Most fish and chip shops get there fish frozen .That's why in other shops you get flat fish .in barracuda they get there fresh delivered every day that's why you get big flakes of fish .. I know this as i know the owner Yan. My family travel to barracuda at least once a month for fantastic dinner .. FANTASTIC Fish and chips once again hope to see you soon when restaurant is open

On seeing good reviews about this restaurant we ordered tonight 12th March. We had it delivered by Uber I can say it’s the worst fish and chips I have had for years. Small dried up fish and stale tasting chips . Rang them to complain girl said they would tell manager , said very busy. That’s no excuse every fish and chip shop is busy on a Friday night . 2 cod’s a medium chips and horseradish sauce over £30.00 will never have my business again

First time I have been able to enjoy fish and chips for years due to being Celiac and I couldn't rate it highly enough! Absolute delicious and very generous portion sizes. Staff very knowledgable and friendly. Will be back again soon to try other GF options available.

We had an amazing takeaway from here last weekend! 5 of us in total, one gluten free. The portion sizes are very generous so make sure you’re hungry! I am gluten free and the battered fish was amazing, and my portion was bagged separately from everything else which is always very reassuring! It’s so hard to find a good quality GF fish and chips. We live about 10 minutes away by car and nothing needed reheating, all very fresh! Would recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you from Isabella, Bryan, & Sarah x

The owner of the business was our server tonight. He truly cares and takes time and effort to look after his guests. Especially at the moment with covid. He demonstrated professionalism and consideration to my family and I. He was great with kids and ensured everyone had the most amazing time and food. The best Gluten Free fish and chips I have had for a long time. 😀

Yesterday evening we visited Barracuda's for supper. One word EXCELLENT!I cannot fault the restaurant. Fabulous food, customer service and cleanliness. We were made to feel so welcome from start to finish. The fish is to die for! Probably the best fish I've ever eaten. Thank you so much for everything. Give this place a try you certainly won't be disappointed 😃😃

Just the best fish and chip take away, none of the others come near for quality & service. The dine in option is great too, plenty of choice and the restaurant area is separated from the takeaway by an internal door so no cooking smells on your clothes. What’s not to love.

Hidden gem lovely quaint restaurant which we prefer over takeaway because we can chill with nice music and a very pleasant atmosphere. It is very reasonably priced for both the quality of service and food provided. We are locals and come here regularly it is much better than central London.

So friendly, staff are so good and the fish and chips are SUPERB. I love this place, I am back there as soon as I can. Definitely next week.

Be prepared for a long wait on Friday evenings as many a local has made it their go to for this tradition. Friendly and professional owners and staff. Couple of things..... if you want anything other than cod, phone ahead just in case it’s sold out. If you want something different than fish’n’chips, the chicken burgers are great. If I was just reviewing in the cheap eats category, then it’s 5 stars every time except for when I turn up 20 mins before closing and my usual choices have sold out. Disappointing but somehow very reassuring. Doesn’t stop me from going back. BTW- Barracuda is way better than the overrated Seapebbles.

We eat at Barracuda at least twice a week, we love everything about this place. The fish,always fresh, we have tried it fried and grilled, is the best in the area,the calamari on the starters are divine, the chips are delicious, the service is friendly and prompt always with a smile. Would reccomend it to anyone, great place if you looking for great fresh fish and chips.

I have visited the restaurant 3/4 times since moving to the area, the food is always excellent. There are lunch time specials which are a great price. The cheeseburger and chips is a superb meal for what they charge.

When we do have fish & chips my partner and I always use this establishment to either eat in or takeaway. Staff friendly and polite. Food tasty, well cooked arriving piping hot and good value for money. One of the better fish and chip shops in the area I feel.

Been going here for many years. Excellent fish and chips. Good value lunch menu. Good service. Restaurant clean and comfortable.

We have eaten from here only a couple of times. We had Ribs (amazing taste and portion size). Taramasalata authentic we believe. Chips are good, all in all we will be back soon.

Having lived in Harrow for over 30 years and driven past Barracuda countless times, it was time to try the food from this place.We got to the restaurant at around 6.30 on a Monday evening. We were served promptly, and the guy was pleasant and professional. I ordered Cod and chips for myself and my aunt. As it was my first time, I asked how big their large portion was.. he said it was enough to feed 2 adults.. he wasn’t wrong! The fish was freshly fried and so was the chips. Both were very tasty, the batter on the cod could’ve been a bit more crispier, but either way it was really good.Food was reasonably priced... Cod at £7.20 and large chips £3.20 (I think)The food, service and quality was all excellent, and I would most definitely come here again.

It’s painful to write this review. I have eaten here before and the chips and fish were very good. Fish and chips is not a regular meal for obvious reasons but my other half loves it as a treat. He knows most of the chip ships in London but hadn’t been to this one so I gleefully I recommended this place having been here before. I ordered a takeaway skate and chips and ribs with chips. The skate was an insult, like a third of a wing, the ribs were burnt refried poor quality rubbish. They should not have been served. I’m v disappointed. The chaps are friendly but I can’t understand how they can serve such bad quality.

The best fish and chips in Harrow. Really good batter. And great fish. Often ring up to order as it does get busy.

Chips were cold. Battered sausage was room temperature. Kids nuggets were burnt. Fish was lovely but batter was burnt. It’s a shame as everyone said it was the best but it really wasn’t. Fresh food that obviously don’t know how to cook properly. Am very disappointed.

I stay in Harrow once a month and visit Barracuda usually at least twice when I am there. I always have the seafood salad which is extremely delicious. When I eat in the Restaurant I usually have taramasoulata with pitta bread to start - it is one of the best I have had. Yainis owns the take-away and restaurant - he is so friendly, pleasant and always makes time for a chat.

Very nice place and the fish and chips were very tasty, a good crispy batter. Only fault was that the 3 of us waited almost 40 minutes for our food. Would definitely return.

The food is always great, the staff welcoming,the portions big,the price fair. We used to live locally and used Barracuda at least once a week for both eating in and take away. We have now moved away but whenever we visit London/Harrow we make a point to have a meal here as we think it is the best. Try the grilled fish.

I had a very good experience when I visited this place, the food was affordable and good and the best af all was the staff, they were so lovely, kind and always welcoming, great service. I will repeat my visit to this place again soon, very recommended...one advise; come here feeling very hungry as the portions are really big if you wanted to eat all...

Great portions and top quality food make this a great restaurant/ takeway, traditional fish & chips delicious. Beware the portions they can be challenging so make sur you’re hungry.

Chips might sound simple but there is an art to making them and this restaurant has figured out the secret. You must try them :-)

This was our second visit to Barracuda restaurant and like the first time we were not disappointed. It is a large restaurant and the tables are well positioned so that there is plenty of space between them. On our previous visit the service was quite slow as there was only one waitress taking orders. However, on this latest visit there were two waitresses and this improved the waiting time. The portions of fish and chips were large and not at all greasy. The atmosphere on a Saturday night was warm and friendly. This is a family restaurant and it does not pretend to be pretentious.For those who like a wine or beer with their meal it is licenced. My only complaint is that the only diet soft drink on offer is Diet Coke and as my wife only drinks Sprite Zero or Seven Up Free she was unable to order a drink from the drinks menu.The owner is very friendly and makes a point of welcoming all the customers and listening to any comments or questions they have, a lovely touch in these days of impersonal service in most restaurants.Although this is not our nearest fish and chip restaurant it is worth the 3 mile drive to eat here. Well done Barracuda, keep up the good work and high standard.

We have been visiting Barracuda for years, the food is always of the highest quality and the staff treat you like an old friend...even on your first visit. A real gem and we're lucky to have it so close by.

The fish is beautifully cooked, and the staff very friendly. We went as a group before Christmas and found christmas crackers on the table and were given a 2017 calendar when we left.

If you want great fish & chips this the place for you. When we visit from Leicester we come here for Rock & chips. Always freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. This place is second to none and recently 1st prise in regional competition nominated by customers.

We had gone to visit the area my husband grew up in and saw the restaurant at the end of the Parade just outside of Harrow business area. Barracuda Fish and Chips looked well maintained and a popular local spot. It was past lunch time and we had driven from inner London so we decided to eat at the Barracuda. The restaurant is a favourite of the local in the area and after lunch a quarter full. A good sign. We sat down and ordered and it had a large selection of fish selection and British favourites like pies etc on the menu. As well as the Chips orFrench Fries.We were brought two lovely, large portioned meals of Haddock and Chips for lunch.With all the condiments like tartar sauce etc. Delicious meal and so carefully prepared not over fried or too crisp a batter with a choice of gluten free also on the menu. We talked with the waitress and then spoke to the owner, Yiannis Christofis. He was extremely pleasant and we talked about the area and the new housing that was going to go in on the other side of the road where a very well known Kodak Factory had been the main stay of the economy for many years. Yiannis also told us that he was a Greek Cypriot and his community had built a church in the area. A very charring and delightful man who was also knowledgable about the area. It made out visit to my husband's home town delightful to have such an enjoyable meal in a friendly atmosphere. Worth a visit.

Popped in for a last minute dinner change of plan (takeaway) and was served promptly. The food was ready (chips and saveloy) and packed up for me in less than two minutes.The servers were friendly (particularly the lady with the blonde hair) and clearly marked out a portion of food I had specifically amended.Price for both a fish and chips was a little expensive for myself (almost £8) but otherwise the other food I purchased was great! Will come again.

Decided to,eat out went to Barracuda for gluten free fish and chips, plenty of room great fish and chips staff excellent. I am not coeliac so I had my usual rock and chips outstanding, my wife's cod was whiter than white. Worth a visit for in house or take away. If you are coeliac please ring weekdays in case fryer not on. On all the time Fridays and Saturday's.

We had been recommended to go to Barracuda and were really pleased we did. We visited on Saturday at lunchtime and ordered cod roe with Greek Salad, grilled plaice with Greek Salad, grilled plaice with chips, fishcakes with chips, sea bass with chips and then side orders of pickled egg, mushy peas, 2 gherkins and an extra portion of chips.Everything we had was freshly cooked and delicious served by a very friendly and efficient waiter.The bill came to £52.45 which we thought to be excellent value for what we had and we're looking forward to returning to Barracuda.

When I am back in North West London I always make a point of having a family dinner in Barracuda. Good fish and chips can be hard to find in my experience, but NOT at Barracuda - where I always feel certain I will be looked after and never disappointed. The owner, who father also has a local fish and chip restaurant and who I presume taught his son all he knew, is very friendly and pleasant to talk to. Most importantly he understands the customers' need for excellent quality food and excellent service and he works hard to deliver. Thank you to the team at Barracuda

I've been here a few times and the fish and chips have always been of a very high standard. The portions are massive and we only share a small chips as well as a piece of fish each. Staff are always pleasant and it's a clean environment.

The food is excellent and once you have tried it once I can guarantee you will be back again and again. The service is excellent as well. They know all regulars by name, which to me is "wow" as they serve over 100 different people per day.

This is our local chip shop and they always give us large portions. The chips are lovely they also offer other things on there menu if you dont fancy chips. Highly recommend this place! Lots of veggie options which is a plus for me.

Great to have such a good place on our doorstep. Wonderful fresh meals esp salmon and the steak night are good. Salads excellent accompaniment to meals or if you have the chips, these are hearty and wholesome. Home cooked. Service is impeccable. Delighted they won regional award for a fish and chip shop but they are much more- extensive restaurant menu also, will not disappoint. Hope they always stay this good and this friendly

I've been here 3 times now and tonight is definitely my last visit, 1st time the food was lovely cooked fresh and very tasty, 2nd time the chips were cold and dried out , 3rd time was tonight and they were terrible very cold the server must have known that they were cold and this is why I'm leaving a bad review, I'm sat here starving because I threw the food away because it was so cold . There is no excuse for this and I'm not at all happy.

Called restaurant at 8.20 to ask for gluten free fish and chips got there 8.40 took order 8.55 supper served.First class food .

We came here as a large group for lunch. We had booked a table and as soon as we arrived we were greeted warmly and shown to our tables.The staff were really friendly and the food was really good. The portion sizes were amazing and we would definitely come here again!

Excellent Fish & Chips in a friendly atmosphere. Yiannis (the maitre d) is a very personable young man who is very conscious of the needs of his customers. The menu offers a good variety of seafood dishes and can cook either on the grill or in the fryer. Burgers, ribs and steaks are also available however I can't get beyond the deep-fried haddock & chips!

This is a surprisingly very good fish restaurant- not so sure about the steak on Saturdays but fish is excellent as is service. Can`t fault it at all. Feel lucky to have this nearby.

I have been coming here for years, started when it was Peters, always very good, the owner and staff are very friendly and know most of the regulars by name, i like Sea Pebbles but this Chippy is better the best in Harrow

I moved to the area in 1970 as a teenager .. We thought it was the best F&C's we'd ever tasted and served by a lovely family. After 10years we moved away to the midlands, but never found anything anywhere near so good. When visiting London, we would pull off the M1 and make our way to Harrow Weald just to get some great F&C's... and it never wavered. Two years later we moved to the South Coast and looked forward to " seaside fish&chips " ... it was good, but not great. After a decade away, we moved back to nearby Pinner and enjoyed 17 yrs of spectacularly great F&C's and the very best of service. By now a third generation had taken over and incredibly, things just got better and better as the whole business was modernised. A new restaurant, a new name, new menu's ... but still many smiling faces and fab food ! Another house move then took us away again and our visits have been few and far between, but any opportunity to go there is always a treat. Believe me, the fish & chips here is absolutely Tip Top and all my family mourn not being close to it !

This is simply the best fish and chips in London. Great portions. Amazing quality. The restaurant (it has an amazing restaurant that you can hire for private functions as well, just like all fish and chip shops used to) is clean modern and spacious. This family run business is the bees knees.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon this really lovely restaurant / takeaway whilst searching a good fish and chips place to take an elderly neighbor for a birthday treat, who hadnt had any for a long time.phoned and reserved a table, on arrival we was greeted with big smiles and courteous service,very resonable prices for the food which was amazing, the fish was perfection the chips and salad were lovely. had a glass of wine and a shandy, i asked if it was possible to bring a cake out as a birthday surprise and they obliged and sung happy birthday...really made our day, we will be going back soon and am looking forward to it, the staff are lovely the service excellent and the food delicious..what more could you ask for. :-)

The area is dead and this restaurant has benefited the area and made it a better environment than it was for that I give it 1 star It has friendly staff and service so I give it another star But the reason I give it 2 stars is due to the food I have gotten food poisoning from my last encounter I will be honest I think this was a one off situation as I have been here a few times but i still warn other people to check there meals before you eat here

I think this review will only be of use to locals as you would just drive though the area. Basically its a fish and chip shop with a restaurant attached.This is where it gets good. The Varied food from the menu is superb ,The Staff are very good,and it is licensed for alcohol ,We had a wonderful fish meal with a carafe of Red wine. (Yes Yes l know :D)We have been here three times with friends who live local.Its always been very good ,and our friends often go there and say the same.

In harrow today .rainy cold grey miserable day came across this chip shop ..first impression smart looking so we tryed it oh my god has to be the best fish n chips I have ever Eaton my god thay can cook fish..fresh fish not frozen fillet.chunky thick chips friendly staff .all round great place to eat brighten up our day

I just moved into the area. It was a midweek evening aprox 7pm when I visited. I highly recommend this fish/chip shop for taste but for customer service very very poor. I asked for cod and chips and ended up waiting aprox 20 mins. I would have been quicker catching the fish myself from the local river! There was no aoology for the stadf. . There were people coming in after me and getting served before me. It is a nightmare to get parking outside, lots of camera signs up. There seems to be an 'eat in' restaurant next door and thought maybe I should have taken a seat in there! So, if you have lots of time on your hands please go here the fish and chips were very tasty and I love the box they come in, very handy and no mess with paper.

Popped in here over the weeekend for lunch with the family.There were five of us and we were treated like royalty it utterly has to be said.The food took it's time to be prepared and cooked, but it was oh so worth it.We were given such great service and didn't leave a scrap on the plate.Some of the best fish and chips in west London......

We have eaten at this restaurant four or five times and it always delivers. The food is terrific value, extremely well cooked and presented, the restaurant clean and comfortable. The food is Greek orientated and has something for everyone on the menu. They present a very good wine list at extremely reasonable prices. The owner, Yiannis, is charming and nothing is too much trouble for him and his staff. It is entirely suitable for children with a good children's menu.Whether you are in the area or not, very well worth the visit.
