Lovley range of food. Prices not bad.

I booked 14 people for Mother’s Day, some with gluten and dairy allergies. Jo and the team were fantastic. Extremely accommodating, welcoming and professional. Really made Mother’s Day for our extended family. Food and service was excellent, highly recommended!

Thoroughly recommend this tea room. Great service and a delicious aray of sandwiches scones and cakes. So much so we had to take some home wuth us to enjoy again at home.

10am on Christmas Eve, and although Barleylands was almost deserted, the Tearoom was filling up. Took the precaution of pre-booking a table for 3, but I needn't have worried. Staff were friendly and efficient, and the Tiptree breakfast was good.

Having had our 'passport' stamped in all 10 Tiptree tea rooms we came to claim our free cream tea. As usual the service was superb and our cream tea delicious.

Very nice food and service waitress couldnt have been nicer. Spoilt by children there for afternoon tea chasing round. Why would you take children age around 3 to 10 to afternoon tea.

Gifted this to my mum and Nan for Christmas and so we went for afternoon tea with my family. We were running a little late but the staff were so lovely and accommodating, thank you Karen and Rachel. We really enjoyed our time :)

We haven't been to a Tiptree Tearoom for ages. Always enjoyed it. This was no different. As a bit of a fussy eater what I like most about the Tiptree version of afternoon tea is that you get a choice of one filling each which means when there are usually the three of us we get to choose three fillings we all like and then we mix and match that way, so much better than getting fillings I don't like. And boy are these sandwiches filled. No cheap ingredients here. And instead of putting mustard, relish etc in the sandwich it comes as a little pot on the side. This time there were six of us. The table was set ready for us. The staff were lovely, chatty when with us and so attentive, nothing seemed too much trouble. The food was delicious and the variety of cakes were good. The sign of a good scone is to able to break it open neatly without using a knife and these were good scones. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The shop is a little on the small side but had a good selection. Was able to buy my favourite, old times marmalade.

£27 for teas and coffees for 7 of us!! Including 5 packets of 2 biscuits. So expensive won't be going back

No atmosphere. Understaffed. Unprofessional service. If you're expecting a special afternoon Tea experience. Forget it.

Lovely cream tea on our trip to barleylands. I would however book in the future, as whilst they were so kind to seat us, they were very busy!

Having enjoyed a round of crazy golf we arrived at about 3:30 for a cuppa and a cake to find that the tea room was shut and we had to go into the more utilitarian cafe. We all thought tea rooms were for afternoon tea as well as midday. Staff were not the most enthusiastic to see us or serve us - and the coffee in the cafe half was pretty bland.

Amazing, great food, especially the afternoon tea, lovely staff really accommodating. My daughter has nut and dairy allergies and they were so attentive and made her feel like she wasn't missing out on anything. They let us use a soya cream we brought and let us keep it in their fridge while we went into the farm.

Arrived at 3pm for afternoon tea. Had a voucher as a gift. Was turned away and told they were not serving any more.

A little busy lunch times but food was excellent. We hadn't book but they found us a table. We had the ploughman's.

Love the selection of jams marmalades etc. Lovely friendly helpful staff. A clean well looked after venue, well worth a pop I. To try it.

Poor service. Had to chase up twice. Got order wrong. Disorganised staff. Friend had cold food when supposed to be hot. Staff seemed not committed to job, chatting with each other. Will not be returning any time soon.

I visit barleylands tea rooms on a weekly basis for lunch with my art friends . The staff are so friendly and the service is second to none ! The food is fresh and appetising and I can thoroughly recommend a visit ! L

The staff always meet us in a friendly and welcoming manner, going above and beyond to meet our diet requirements. The food is of a consistently good standard. We visited with the plan of my best friend surprising his girlfriend to propose, the staff were amazing the staff were aware of the whole plan & never gave the game away, she had no idea what was happening till she saw my best friend down on one knee, they even helped in filming to make it a magical memory for them. The afternoon tea was fabulous with a choice of sandwiches & toasties. Thank you so much to the manager & all the staff working today. My best friend & his wife to be are over the moon. I don’t think we could have pulled it off without your help. I know I will definitely be returning for an afternoon tea with out the sneaky plans.

I visited this tearoom every Wednesday as part of a larger group of mums with new babies and find the food and service fantastic. The tea room is very baby friendly which is such a relief when you are a new mum and trying to eat out with your new baby which can be such a daunting experience. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. The food is fresh and tasty. Great selection of sandwiches, soups, salads, cakes etc. The blueberry scones are a particular favourite of mine and my now 11 month old adores their sandwiches. Lovely tearoom with great food and great service.

We meet here weekly as a large group and the staff are always very friendly and remember us. The food is great with a wide variety of choice, alway freshly cooked. Lots of cake options too. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely superb afternoon tea in the tea room. Fantastic choice of sandwiches, best scones ever, freshly made and huge, cakes defeated us, brought 3 home. The staff were lovely, friendly and polite. Best afternoon tea ever and real value for money, can’t be beat.

Had a lovely afternoon tea for our Mums 67th birthday and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious and the staff couldn’t do enough for us and made Mum’s birthday very special. Good value for money, you get loads we even took some cakes home. Will definitely be returning soon 😊

Booked afternoon tea for myself, 3 sisters and elderly parents in wheelchairs on the afternoon of our annual Christmas displays at the Garden centres outing and have to say we couldn't have booked better. There was ample room to manoever my parents in and out of their chairs, the staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us and the food was delicious and ample. What we didn't manage was boxed up for us to take home and the price was very reasonable. Very worth a visit and we will definitely be returning 😊

Tiptree at barley lands is very expensive for what you get. Service wasn't too bad a bit slow.

Stunning and ideal Place for a real decent meal. Staff are all absolutely brilliant, professionally polite and happy. We visit once a year when the Sausage and Cider festival is on and have never been disappointed. See you in 2022

Lovely food in a lovely setting. The quiche was gorgeous! The adjacent craft studios were not all open or some seemed unoccupied. Lots of free parking and toilets on site.

Come here every year during/after the Essex Sausage and Cider festival across the road. Absolutely Stunning food, the staff are awesome friendly and polite. The restaurant is spotless and so are the toilets. If you haven't tried this place yet your missing out... Currently sitting in the restaurant as I write this....

Staff are very helpful and accomodating. We had a significant delay getting our food to the table though, but was offered free brownies, so a good service recovery. The quality of food was good all round and fresh.

Had Afternoon Tea today. Staff were lovely, along with sandwiches, cakes and scones with Jam and Clotted Cream. Well worth it, go on give yourself a well deserved treat, its been a horrid last year.

Many small units doing various niche items. Very expensive 'cream teas', never been before, highly unlikely I'd ever want to go back. Not my sort of place
