Excellent food and great service. Would recommend

Stopped on an impromptu Saturday lunch, not really expecting them to have a table, but they managed to fit 2 adults and 2 kids in. They provided full a la carte, lunch special and a kids menu for plenty of options. The tapas selection arrived fairly promptly on an 'as its ready' basis, which inevitability leaves someone staring impatiently and empty handed at a table full of people tucking in. Food was delicious, kids enjoyed the flatbreads, the fish tacos and pork belly tacos were particularly good. Recommended for a lovely lunch.

From start to finish this place was wonderful. The food was incredibly tasty and the specials gave an extra element of choice. We celebrated my wifes birthday here and couldnt have been happier with the experience. The staff were all so kind and full of smiles, extra credit to Barry who served us, a very nice chap. Wow, I am so amazed about this restaurant, the perfect location, in the city centre, the staff was absolutely brilliant, the food was so fresh, they made our night so special, it was my friend's birthday 🎂 🥳 🎉 and he totally enjoyed. Went in as a party of 8. We had pre booked so were sat down straight away. We had ordered the party menu tapas. Lovely food and bought out quickly. Well recommended.

This is my favourite tapas restaurant in Nottingham! I started coming here around 2017 so have seen the menu grow and develop over those years and haven’t had a bad meal in that time. The Menu Del Dia used to be around £12 which was scandalously cheap for what it was, which is now ~£18 but still absolutely worth that with a delicious Catalan bread, 2 tapas and a side dish. The wine is great and so are the cocktails, and paired with a great atmosphere and setting it’s one of my favourite spots in Nottingham by far.

We had booked a table for dinner. Located in Lace Market in City Centre, it is very close to the tram station. We chose to drive, as it was raining and parked in the Fletcher Gate multistorey car park, which is virtually across the road from the restaurant. The ambience was good and the staff friendly (special thanks to James who attended to us). He gave us his suggestion on ordering Tapas menu (as we were here for the first time). The food was good and service quick. Overall, we enjoyed the dining experience.

We visited tonight for the Fiesta Gastronomica and I was quite disappointed after looking forward to it since Baresca advertised this on their instagram. This was for a birthday celebration so I left feeling deflated, as the food was average at best. Waited 45 minutes for the first 2 plates to arrive at the table, I asked for bread in the meantime and got told no, as the food will be coming….came away hungry, and disappointed with the flavours that were produced. The dessert also had no white chocolate brittle on, and the cheesecake, just tasted strongly of cheese, it was not enjoyable. Usually love the standard menu at Baresca and was exciting to try these dishes but left hungry and disheartened by the whole experience. Rang multiple times in the week to check our booking time and had no answer throughout no matter what time I called. Not usually one to write a review but felt this needed to be mentioned.

Food was some of the best tapas I've had. We went as a group and had the party menu. They brought out separate veggie options for those that wanted them (which were delicious!). Will definitely be going again.

We were a party of 12, we had tapas. The staff were fine, our server was pleasant, but didn't seem very knowledge about the menu. The food was very average, and we thought expensive for what it was. Won't return.

Great choice of tapas, we had menu of the day catalan bread 2 tapas and a side. My favourite was the mushroom rosini absolutely beautiful so creamy and tasty . I liked that we were given water at start. The staff were friendly and attentive and food was delivered promptly. Loved it and will definitely go back.

Went here for a works Christmas meal. There were 35 of us and the team served us excellently. Everyone received their ordered drink on arrival and the food was served at good intervals, as you finished on dish the next arrived. Regular drinks orders were taken and the mocktails were great. I will definitely be coming back here for a meal to enjoy even more of the menu. There were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu.

A cracking visit to this tapas restaurant in Nottingham. The food was extremely lovely and tasty. Ample parking in the city centre car parks can be found, lace market at the evening rate is a cracking bargain.

Brilliant food but very expensive.

Super atmosphere and superb tasting food. Couldn't pick fault with any of it. The chilli beef was amazing. Highly recommended. Give it a go you won't be disappointed.

We didn't get to the food. Walk-in, no reservation we were sat at the bar. No problem, we were told we'd get the same service etc. 15 mins go by and noone has spoken to us or taken an order, a drinks order taken after 20 mins. 10 mins later we're still waiting while 4 members of staff are behind the bar just chatting. Got up and walked out at that point. I'd understand if it was busy and everyone was rushed but we felt forgotten about and the other couple next to us on the bar looked similar. Don't seat people at the bar if your staff are going to ignore them.

Awful experience! It was a busy Saturday, so of course we expected slow service but what we received was ridiculous. The majority of the waiters/ waitresses were stood around the bar while we waited for someone to take our order. They must of walked past us at least 20 times before we had to ask one of them to take our ordet. We received our food before the drinks ( we could see our drinks on the side but every member of staff just walked past them). The food was great, no complaints whats so ever. We asked for the bill, which again we seemed to wait forever for. The girl we asked just seemed to be ignoring us. A bill was brought to the table next to us, which was definitely our bill as when we went up to ask why it was taking so long, it had already been paid. Thankfully the managers were great and sorted us out straight away. I’ve worked in hospitality for years so hate to complain but basic manners and organisation need improvement, it felt like no one knew who was doing what.

Sunday roast platter was excellent

We visited early on a Saturday evening whilst in the area, having pre-booked. The food and drink was delicious - couldn’t fault any of it. Unfortunately we did have rather slow service - time for our drinks to get to us, and had to chase for the bill. We were told 10% was automatically added to our bill as gratuity and we felt it’d be too rude to ask for it to be removed due to the service as the food was so good, but we probably wouldn’t have voluntarily given a tip given the service. Would definitely go back if in the area, but just be mindful of the service if it’s busy.

Food is decent but the place was half empty and service just took absolutely ages

Had a great meal here before the theatre. Their menu del dia (menu of the day) was such great value and the portion sizes were really generous too. We got different dishes and shared them all between us. I was full by the end but not uncomfortably full… felt just right! Very satisfied and impressed with this place 🌟

Maybe I missed the brief but Chinese crispy beef does not belong on a tapas menu. That might be forgivable but there were others. And oven chips smothered in a tomato-y sludge does not count as Patatas bravas! Staff looked like they’d rather be somewhere else and there were long gaps in dishes coming out which the place was 2/3rds empty was strange. Our final beer eventually came after we’d paid the bill and putting our coats on to leave. The mini chorizo’s in honey and sherry just about saved the day!

Dropped in for lunch, didn't book. Great food, nice and informal, really enjoyed it. Will visit again for sure.

The staff and management are attentive and pleasant and the ambience are very good. The food is good but I feel most likely just bought in and heated up rather than cooked from scratch. Could be wrong but my suspicion as the theatre kitchen is too clear and small to allow for much more. What let’s the place down for me is the value. £6 to £8 for half a flat bread with two thimbles of hummus or a few herbs and sultans was the most upsetting and left me feeling a bit ripped off. After £25 a head we had a few tasty mouthfuls each but didn’t add up to a meal. I appreciate restaurants are finding it tough but need to be more creative to offer customer value.

We recently hosted a party to celebrate our wedding with friends at Baresca using their upstairs event space. Hollie was really helpful and responsive when working with us to plan the menu and timings for the evening. On the day the team were flexible when we had to make some last minute changes to numbers and were very attentive to our guests, particularly regarding dietary requirements. Everyone said how amazing the food was and we all had a great time. The venue was good value for money considering that we had exclusive use of the space and plentiful amounts of food and drink. We wouldn’t hesitate to host an event here in the future.

Ate here this evening with wife and son. Food was great. Staff were friendly enough. Unfortunately, issue with food delivery. All dishes ordered from set menu, yet one main dish, one veg dish and one side dish arrived and then nothing else for over 10 mins. Took an hour to receive all 9 dishes, even with reminders to staff. Only seemed to impact ourselves, as there were 3 separate couples eating nearby who received all their dishes pretty much together. For us, appalling experience that spoiled the fact that the food was very good. Made comments to waitress when paying (without gratuity, unlike me), but making comments here also as this issue needs to be resolved.

Visited today for lunch for a birthday celebration. We were the only two customers in the restaurant and were expecting a relaxed lunch. Food was ordered and eventually arrived after a wait. Chicken wings were tepid ( not ideal) and both the meat balls and patatas were barely warm , just covered with a very hot sauce. We mentioned this to the server who was very defensive and suggested we had no idea about the concept of tapas. Well oddly we do as we have Spanish family and that concept does not include food that has not been heated properly and to required food temperature regulations. He then stated all food is temperature probed before serving which clearly had not been done . I'm not impressed with any food establishment that serves luke warm chicken and then instead of rectifying the problem accuses the customer of being ignorant. There was no offer to replace the tepid dishes or apologise. As we were the only customers in an empty restaurant this could have been easily resolved without any inconvenience to other customers. Sadly his attitude was enough to ensure we will never return to Baresca and I would suggest to the owners that perhaps they need to remind staff about minimum temperatures for serving hot food. Awful experience and all it needed was a courteous apology, instead be were treated like rubbish.

Fabulous, delicious Spanish tapas full of flavour and generous in size. Wide choice of mouthwatering dishes suitable for many dietary requirements, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan. Menu is clearly displayed with details of each dish. Good choice of drinks and beverages, including various Sangrias and Spanish wines and sherries, plus plenty of cocktails, including non-alcoholic. Decor gives a relaxing atmosphere and the service is friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return.

Came here for my birthday meal with my partner and I can not begin to explain how incredible the food is. We were absolutely stuffed and forced ourselves to finish it all because it was that good. To top it all of the staff are absolutely lovely, chatty and attentive. Will be returning without a doubt.

We were looking for somewhere to go for a light lunch (with wine🙂) and found this tapas bar. Although it wasn't busy, the atmosphere was good, and the staff were extremely welcoming. I would recommend this place.

First time visiting and was not disappointed!! between the 3 of us we ordered 10 dishes, which was brought out exactly how it should for a Tapas........a few dishes at a time as not to be overwhelming. Food was hot and delicious ( I particularly loved the chicken wings 😋) and the drinks where also good. In all would highly recommend and would go back tomorrow if I could.

I have multiple food intolerances and the restaurant were made aware of these beforehand when we booked, as well as when we got to the restaurant. I ended up not receiving half of the food I was meant to (perhaps was given to wrong person) and I was given food with one of the allergens on which I did not realise until half way through when I tasted it, so will now be Ill from this, absolutely awful, lucky it’s not a severe allergy such as a nut allergy, I will definitely not be going back here

Delicious food, we had the tapas plates as the menu del dia, truly high quality food!

After a hectic week and not wishing to do any cooking - decided to finally visit Baresca. Our family have loved Perkins and Escabeche which are the other restaurants in the group so needed to try this one as well. Reservation was 6:45pm which on Friday was an excellent time to visit as we got in before the rush. It’s a lovely cosy atmosphere where you left sit and chat in between ordering and waiting for your food. Service there was impeccable and everyone was smiling and courteous. Food was beautifully presented and cooked to order. Had 3 dishes each as well as ordering 2 flatbreads to share. Will definitely go back again. Well worth the cost at the end of the meal.

I've been here a few times, always pleased. The staff are friendly, but not overbearing. The food is delicious, fresh, and nicely presented. We had the lunch menu, which is just the right amount. Good value.

I went with a colleague for lunch at Baresca and we both really enjoyed the experience. We went for the lunch deal 'menu del dia' which is two dishes plus a side and freshly made Catalan bread - all a very good deal. The waitress was fantastic, warm and friendly yet also professional. She highly recommended the sticky beef and it did not disappoint - that was my favourite dish - delicious! My colleague loved the Korean cauliflower. Really there are lots of great dishes to choose from, the cod tacos were also excellent. The bar has a lovely feel to it and has rooms upstairs and downstairs for private parties. It is independently owned and I can't wait to go back and try the cocktails too.

We popped in for a spot of lunch today and both had the menú del día and shared the lot. The service was great - really friendly and professional staff. The food was gorgeous and there was plenty of it. We used to live in Spain so I feel I can vouch for the authenticity of both the ingredients and the dishes. I also want to comment on how super clean the toilets were! The next time we are back in the area we will definitely return.

I'm always hesitant with tapas in the UK, it can be overhyped. But this experience was an absolute delight, hands down best tapas in the UK! We loved the open kitchen, from our table we could see it being prepared and I love that transparency as you see the chefs cook like a dance. All dishes were sublime, really well executed. The highlights being the peshwari flatbread and the smoked haddock gratin, but I'd absolutely recommend any of the dishes (we tried quite a few between the 3 of us!). Can't wait to come back!

What a gem of a place this is, such delicious food, beautifully cooked and presented. We had the party menu and I can’t recommend it enough. Our waitress was lovely, very attentive and smiley 😊 And the gluten free options were just as spectacular as...

The food and place was beautiful however, the service was terrible. One member of our party's whole order was missed off and a couple of items from others. It felt like the server then purposely stayed away from our table. We had no food or drink removed from the bill and didn't receive an apology other than the kitchen was busy.

Good food, good service and tapas all round. The waiters and waitresses were friendly and helpful. The menu offered plenty of options, both in terms of food and drink. The price was also very reasonable. The restaurant is well located, amongst other restaurants and bars, hotels, parking and not too far from the train station.

Amazing food and quick service. We had the mozzarella, parmasan flat bread, polenta chios, halloumi fries, kofta kebabs and pork tacos. They were all delicious. Enough for a meal for two - not too heavy for an afternoon of drinking...

The food was very nice. We were a big group and had the party tapas set menus. Honey glazed chorizo was amazing! Jugs of sangria were very nice too. The service was a little slow as we were waiting 45+ minutes after arrival before we got our first lot of food. I appreciate we were a big party but they already knew what food we were having so I'm not sure why the food wasn't ready earlier than this. However once it started to come out there were no further delays. I would visit here again and recommend to others. It would be nice to go in a smaller group and order from the normal menu.

We came here yesterday for lunch and had the lunch deal. Started with Catalan bread and olive and both were lovely. Followed by our tapas and sides. All the dishes were great, really nice twists on classic dishes and was such a great little find!...

We went as a part of Nottingham restaurant week and would potentially go back for a chill dinner! Service was a bit slow on one of our dishes (I suspect they forgot) but otherwise friendly service and some decent food too. The Highly recommend miso and sesame greens and garlic chilli prawns👌🏾… Sangria was nice too… The only let downs were fried chicken and cod tacos, they were a little blah… Butterbean salad was ok but not mind blowing, same with the patatas bravas… Overall it’s ok, not the best but far from the worst! Deffo has a few gems though so torn weather to change to 4 stars…

My second visit here and it didn’t disappoint! The food is delicious, the service attentive and nothing was too rushed as it so often can be with tapas style food. This will be my ‘go to’ place whenever I pass through Nottingham now.

I booked a table for 18 for my 30th birthday (and surprise wedding) and the food and the staff were superb. They placed us upstairs so we felt like we had a lovely private space to celebrate. We also had a massive range of dietary requirements and they were so accommodating, even creating a new GF/Veggie party menu for my friend. The party menu is such a great way of doing this, totally takes the pressure off ordering & settling the bill, the selection was delicious and every single dish was enjoyed. The team were so organised and made the booking process super easy. We’ve dined here so many times over the years and they never fail. Couldn’t recommend more for a celebration in particular, with lots of jugs of sangria of course. Thank you so much!

Lovely place and great ambience. Tapas was brilliant, but quite a gap between the dishes coming out, we expected them in dribs and drabs, but two came out then it was 5-10 minutes after we’d finished before the next ones arrived, then the 6th dish never came for which we did receive an apology and an offer to bring it, but we’d finished all food and drinks by this point. Maybe something that could’ve been avoided if they had checked in on us at the right time when the thought all dishes had landed. Aside from that, the quality of the food was great and the wine list was nice too.

Having been fortunate to visit many restaurants in my lifetime I am frustrated when an outlet seems to be content with serving what I can only describe as 'bang average' food. Not awful, not brilliant, just straight down the middle mediocre. Just a little more...

As usual, an amazing Sunday lunch. Each meat dish was delicious and the veg cooked to perfection. Service was outstanding so attentive and friendly. Never had a bad meal from here whether we have the tapas or our all time favourite Sunday dinner for 2...

The tapas is pretty good, and the atmosphere relaxed and friendly. However, the service has been confused and disjointed every time I have been. Drinks ordered but never delivered, just sat waiting to be served and servers often unsure as to what has been ordered or whether a dish is for the table.

Beautifully decorated with quite a nice atmosphere, some of the food was delicious however the calamari had very tough, chewy strings in it, which the waitress said wasn't normal (we were still charged for it), one dish arrived way after we'd finished eating and the service was poor (no one came to check on us or offer more drinks etc, the owner/manager didn't even turn around as we left). Overall just a bit disappointing for the price.

We didn't have a reservation, but they fit us in on a Saturday lunchtime. The man at the door was very friendly and so helpful. The food and drinks were delicious with a good choice of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks/cocktails. We really enjoyed our lunch, the service was great. We had the meal deal for £16.50pp.
