Barburrito in Cardiff

In spite of raising a formal complaint on their website about racist behavior from their staff Eathan, Barburrito has not responded to me. This is very concerning. I would never recommend you dine here, they selectively respond only to good feedback. It's a shame that they have good food but ruin it with miserable staff.

Went to bar burrito in Cardiff and always have the best service! Such a lovely guy named James and a lovely lady called Lisa. So professional and helpful with suggestions (quite an awkward eater) took their time with me a suggested THE BEST burrito. Will be returning again tomorrow! Thank you lovelies!

The staff at this branch were fantastic today. Seemed a busy lunch and it was handled very well. The lady with the European accent was very friendly. The one with tattoos was super fast and efficient. I think that was the manager. She looked in full control and it was great how she joked with the team when they were restocking and cleaning up after the queues. I was impressed by my visit today. The young man on the till was very friendly and offered me a meal deal to save me money. Was a nice touch

Very rude behavior by Eathan. Asked me as a customer whether I was here to collect too good to go!!! Was racist just cause I’m Indian made me feel like I cannot afford a meal here. Terrible behavior throughout made sure I would never visit them again. Not the kind of staff you should have. Bar burrito can do better than this.

: ordered a side for 4.50 got charged 11 something, never told me to add sauce few drizzle is £1 extra, never asked for veggies just wanted side they insisted it’s nice but didn’t say what’s extra cost, at the end charged me nearly 3 times more for a bowl of tortilla chips with cheese and drizzle of sauce . service when pointed out why the amount they couldn’t explain, the item they said wasn’t on menu, total ripoff company and management. Wondering must be lots of other people got scammed this way and never bothered shaming them. Please do it’s going to trading standard and wales online next week for how it’s run.

I went with my sister after a walk around town, service staff were nice but of course a little rushed but some very nice food!

Incredibly poor service when picking up my Too Good To Go tonight. Three of us arrived to collect our vegan option, to be told by the server they cancelled it. When we advised that it hadn’t been cancelled on the app they went to the back to double check this. When they came back several more people began to queue, so it was obvious they forgot to cancel this. Easy mistake to make. HOWEVER… The server was so rude when they came back, and spoke to us as if we had all made the mistake. Not even an apology to say they got it wrong this time. I understand that it may have been stressful, but rule no.1 is the customer is always right (which we actually were in this case). No manager in sight to explain what had happened and to also apologise, it seems the staff here need training on how to take accountability when mistakes are made and how to communicate positively to customers. The food provided was very underwhelming, as the server claimed ‘they’ve counted for everything already’ so we pretty much got leftovers from the leftovers, in which I will be contacting TGTG for a refund. Very poor management and awful customer service.

I’ve visited this branch of Baburrito a few times before but today I was disappointed. The food wasn’t as warm as it usually is, and the serving area seemed messy and disorganised. The was a long queue for food and as I waited I realised that this is because delivery orders are prioritised over customers who are waiting in the shop. 10% Blue light card discount is still offered but to get it you now need to sign up for their app. At over £8 for a basic burrito and a drink, this was a disappointing visit.

Visited with family, an extremely busy time, staff coped well and still gave good service. Food hot with alot of choice would recommend and visit again

Pleasant staff. Cold space. Near the door so not comfortable. Food was substandard as far as burritos go. Lots of hidden extras. Cold chips which were replaced but the Al great sauce was awful. I didn’t have the energy to bring them back a second time. Mark it down to experience. No more visits here for me.

This burrito place is so good for vegans, their mayo is suitable for vegans and they have a good selection of toppings. I'm really glad the guacamole is included in the veg option because I love avocados. The burritos are really filling, will definitely come again!

I ordered a pulled pork and beef burrito on Friday evening. 6 hours later I was throwing up all night and Saturday. Ruined my weekend. That's the last time that I order from these guys.

So tasty and fast. The service was very professional and fun; took us through the menu simply. Lots of variety of choice. Yum!

The staff here are always more than willing to help if I want to switch up my usual lunch menu. Elan is one of the friendliest members I've come across and if I could poach her for my own business I would - customer service where someone seems to genuinely care is rare to find! Overall it's a good value lunch for how filling it is, the flavours are great and I've never had an order so awful that I can't eat it.

The staff was very welcoming, Lisa helped me with my choise. I had a giant quesarrito! For cheese lovers is amazing, I do recommend Mike was very fast and friendly at the till and Gareth has been very good on keeping the conversation until my food was ready. Exceptional service! Well done

Visitamos Barbarito el sábado porque nos apetecía algo diferente y ha pasado un tiempo desde que tuvimos esto.Debo decir que estoy impresionado con el distanciamiento social que se está produciendo allí en comparación con algunas de las otras tiendas del centro de la ciudad.El último que visitamos fue en Manchester, así que estaba un poco preocupado por el clima, esto sería lo mismo.La comida era excelente.El servicio al cliente fue increíble.En estos tiempos sin precedentes tengo que decir bien hecho barbarito, no decepcionaste.

Mi papá y yo visitamos Barburrito por primera vez hoy (18/08/20) con la esperanza de un almuerzo rápido. Desafortunadamente, nos quedamos muy decepcionados debido al pésimo servicio al cliente de los empleados.En primer lugar, nos recibió una señora que comentó con sarcasmo cómo funcionaba la línea de producción del burrito, señalando que no se nos permitía solicitar ciertos ingredientes en este punto específico. Explicar esto hubiera sido completamente aceptable, excepto que esta dama fue extremadamente franca y tenía un tono muy sarcástico. Además, parecía que los servidores no querían estar allí y eran extremadamente maleducados. Nos miraron estúpidamente cuando les pedimos cortésmente que se repitieran debido al ruido de fondo. La gota que colmó el vaso para mí fue cuando mi papá preguntó una opción de cobertura y la primera mesera (una dama con tatuajes) puso los ojos en blanco y sonrió sarcásticamente a su colega por el hecho de que teníamos que preguntar algo. Todos los empleados parecían haber preferido estar en cualquier lugar menos aquí y, si soy sincero, sentí lo mismo.El sabroso burrito que recibimos estaba contaminado por el terrible servicio al cliente en este restaurante, no volveremos.

I visit here regularly and the staff are always brilliant and more importantly the food is amazing and consistently fresh. Would recommend!!

Arrived here to quite a big queue, felt quite optimistic. When I got to the server, I asked about the fillings in the burritos, her response was that she was fed up of repeating herself throughout the day and her break was 5 hours overdue. Then pointing at the board behind her. Her attitude was appalling. Most things apart from the meat are extra, so for £7.95 you can end up paying an extra £2-3 on top. I've never been here before, I think I'll stick to barburrito next time or try something else. Much better out there for money and the customer service is to be desired.

I used to be a regular customer, Foods great, cheap & fast however the manager with a face like miss trunchbull is unprofessional, I would appreciate my food not to be served with her lady parts hanging out of her vest top underneath her unbuttoned unifrom shirt, and if shes going to tell her staff to take less meat off the burrito atleast say it quietly and politely.

Came here about 3ish to order a burrito for my aunt and came back with my bf to order one for myself! Great staff and no wait time as I came at off peak times. Pretty great low fuss meal!

I have visited bar burrito in the past and over the past 6 months their portions have got smaller and smaller. I ordered a loaded one, which is meant to be large. On 2 occasions now they have been stingy. I think the blond haired manager, who has a face like thunder, has become a mini food hitler. She’s trained her troops to give tiny portion sizes! Avoid if you do not want to be ripped off!!

I visited on the 21/12/19 with my husband and son, the staff were friendly and cleaned a table for us right away. The food was terrible, the burrito was full of water and tasteless, very sloppy! Considering it cost £21 for two burritos and a small packet of plain nachos, I accepted much better! Would not eat there again.

I visit the Cardiff chain quite regularly! There is a certain staff member who always ruins my experience! Clearly she doesn’t enjoy her job so why is she there!. Her monotone voice of “what do you want” and “anything else” with the occasional eye role is not at all appealing! I think she may even be a team leader, she wears a navy top! I understand you ask the same question about 100 times a day but have a little bit enthusiasm about it! These customers are paying your wages for Christ sake! If I see she’s serving I walk past cause she makes me feel unwelcome!

Very very small portion sizes, even with the rice. They put a small spoon size of the item in a huge bowl - they spread one spoonful of rice along the bottom of the bowl, so that literally 1 grain of rice covered the bottom! My lunch looked very sorry for itself. If you're looking for a good burrito place, with decent portion sizes, go to mill lane - Tortilla! I'll never go to BarBurrito again!

I am a frequent visitor to barbarrito as I work in the centre I came here lunchtime for my usual pulled pork and chips the food Is always fab yet the service is just in and out no character. A young woman served me and with a smile,enthusiasm and also helping me through every item (usually it's fast speech and a rush) I could tell she was new as i am here practically daily yet the comfort I felt in just helping me threw a quick burritto to even the "have a nice day" at my exit was an absolute delight she has made barburrito a much warm welcoming place.

My partner and myself come in for a late baritto about 6pm last night. We have been here before but this time we were welcomed on arrival asked if we had been before and we were explained the food instead of being rushed away. I did ask if she was new and she replied yes with a nervous smile. If all the staff in food industry were half this welcoming and had great customer service it would be good. But she (courteny) went above and beyond and we will defiantly be back! :)

I love spicy foods. I love making burritos. I've never found a place that even comes near a burrito I'd make at home, and Bar Burrito does not change.

Called in for lunch before a rugby international. Staff were great helping me through the process. Had a fairly basic burrito but was filling fresh and really tasty. Definitely use again

Visité aquí después de un evento en Cardiff, entiendo que todos los lugares cercanos al estadio estaban ocupados y los lugares pueden tener grandes colas. ¡Nos complació aceptar la espera para disfrutar un poco de comida mexicana! Sin embargo, a mitad de la cola, el personal nos notificó que no quedaba arroz, esto significaba que teníamos que cambiar nuestro pedido original a tacos.

Comer una dieta principalmente vegana este lugar es fenomenal. Sí, tienen carne mientras tanto, pero el burrito de verduras que tuve fue estupendo. La ensalada desnuda también fue genial. . . . Comida muy sabrosa y abundante. Un servicio rápido también fue una mala noticia. Definitivamente lo recomendaría. 10/10 para comida rápida.

I love Mexican food but this was really below par and PLASTIC FORKS!!!! WHAT THE WHAT!!! Who does that nowadays without even anywhere to put them for recycling? I had a naked veg burrito which was ok but not very warm. My friend ordered the dirty fries. When the guy serving us called out the back for the order of fries I assumed they were cooked to order but they came out pretty much straight away. They were cold and very much like cardboard so I can only assume they were being kept warm out the back like the rest of the fillings out front. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend this as a good place to eat. Although my burrito was tasty the experience was ruined by my partners meal being rubbish.

Muy decepcionado. Entré para un almuerzo rápido. Bf tenía un burrito y me encantó. Había terminado su comida antes de que me sirvieran mis papas sucias. Coberturas y sabores eran increíbles. 2 estrellas ya que la comida no se comía junta y las papas estaban demasiado recocidas.

Compramos el Ultimate Nacho, y fue decepcionante! Los nachos estaban fríos, y el relleno y las salsas muy sin sabor.

Tried barburrito as I do love a burrito. It was pretty good. Wasn't keen that you had to choose between beans or onions as at other chains you can have both. Overall the service was quite quick when we went and the burritos were pretty nice. Churros and caramel were divine! Overall not the best burrito I've tried but I'd go back!

Went to the restaurant in Cardiff having never been to one before. Asked what we want when we listed in the wrong order saying meat first we were looked at like we were stupid, there response what burrito, taco ...

Went here as I had a Groupon deal (£9.50 for a regular burrito, soft drink and tortilla chips each for two) and would definitely go back again and again. Great value for money and have lots of choices to suit many needs. Quick and easy lunch that is filling.

Yesterday I visited this store for the first time, I was nicely greeted by a young girl who’s badge said ‘Marie’, straight away I felt comfortable ordering. I explained to her that I had never been to barburrito and had never eaten a burrito before and she happily offered to help as we moved down. She was very helpful and made sure I was aware of all the extras. Very good manners and customer service and I will be visiting this store again very soon and hope to try some more of the menu.

Great place if you're a vegan. I recently had a meal in Wahaca's and I have to say Barburrito was so much better. The food was so tasty and the staff are super friendly. They change their gloves and put a clean pair on if you say you're a vegan.

Popped in for a quick bite whilst out shopping, my burrito tasted ok but was expensive for what it was as where my partners nachos, extra 50p to add a sprinkling of cheese...really! And several of the tables were not cleared after diners had left. Pretty average and overpriced.

Having never tried Mexican food before, I was a bit sceptical, but I'm so glad I Did! It was delicious and well worth the money, the burrito was packed full of fresh fillings! The staff were really friendly and happy to help. Would definitely recommend and will be returning again if I go to cardiff.

Felt that Ross was being quite bad mannered towards his staff and customers. Felt I was being patronised as I'd never been there before and he spoke to me as if I was stupid. Tutted and rolled his eyes at one point.

Very good quality burrito. Thoroughly enjoyed the spicy pulled pork option which I hadn't come across before.

Friendly staff and good food, we liked that you could choose between beans or mushrooms/onions and there were good choices such as pulled beef, steak, chicken and chorizo. They do 20% discounts for students, my only disappointment is they charge 95p for adding guacamole - in my opinion that should be included in the price! But overall a good experience if you're looking for a quick bite to eat.

A lack of staff serving meant the Burrito was in a queue for the next part of its journey..... when I commented on the delay the staff member said it was normal speed (obviously haven’t been to an efficient branch) and no hint of an apology.

Visited barburitto today and although the burritos were good, the nachos were simply embarrassing. £1.20 for a half empty stale tray of nachos. Wouldn't recommend anything other than the burritos in this place.

Went for lunch with our two teenagers and used Groupon voucher which was a great deal. Pleasantly surprised by the quality, options and service. A Mexican sub way, with lots of healthy, fresh fillings. We were all full with a regular burrito, tortilla chips (plenty of those in a portion) and good selection of soft drinks including san pelligrino cans. Would definitely visit again.

We went on a busy Friday lunch time but were served very promptly.

This was a delivery via UberEats, but despite typing a note with my order to "double check" that nothing was missing from my meal, annoyingly, they had failed to enclose the vital salsa to accompany my tortilla chips. As a former chef, I am sick and tired of restaurants that, evidently, do not practice the tried-and-tested receipt "double-ticking" method. It is an idiot-proof way of ensuring that mistakes are not made.Firstly, the cook/chef ticks the item when it is being prepared, followed by a second tick when it has been bagged for transit. How difficult is that?Predictably, the receipt in the bag showed no sign of being ticked or checked and resulted in my salsa being left out. Apart from that the meal was okay, but the portion sizes of a few of the extras, such as the sour cream, were too small. Despite wanting this first meal from Barburrito to be great, as a brand new customer (I even stated that on the order!), I was decidedly underwhelmed. Come on, Barbs! Let's have generous sized extras and, please, please, please, act on the customers' notes and DOUBLE-TICK the receipts.

I arrived at the Cardiff St Davids branch at 8pm this evening, having checked the opening times before leaving home & seen that this branch was open until 9pm The first thing i was told when i tried to order was "just so you know we're out of rice, is that ok?"Y'know what? No, thats totally not okIts one of the integral ingredients of your product, so why would it be ok? If you don't have any....get some! I wouldn't mind if i'd arrived 10 minutes before closing time to find you'd run out of an ingredient, but a whole hour before closing? That's shoddyLong story, but I'd specifically driven to the city centre for a burrito, so my entire journey was wasted by the fact that this place are either too disorganised or just too lazy to bother cooking some riceAs far as I'm concerned their claims to be open are false, since if they cannot provide the product their entire business model is based around then what exactly is it they're doing? A pointless visit to a pointless store. Thanks for nothing. I shan't be bothering again

Visited here yesterday as I was on a shopping spree with my partner and a friend and I loved it! I'm in Cardiff maybe once every couple of months and no doubt every time I am here I will always come to barburrito. Not only for the food but also for the friendly and helpful service. I had the tacos with spicy shredded beef and some other toppings. I get similar things each time but they never fail to please. I love Mexican food but no other restaurant or stall I've tried has ever compared to the food here. My partner had pretty much the same as me and my friend is a vegetarian and although they cater to her perfectly with the vegetarian options she decided to try something new and have the nachos. What a surprise!!! £5 for a mountain of whatever she wanted really! They were outstanding! We demolished all of our food within minutes. Definitely recommend!!

This is a must when visiting cardiff, Hearty, healthy food at good prices and always service with a smile. Wish there was one near our home!!!

Being from the US, its hard to compare Mexican food here in the UK. Wanted to try something different. Was just ok. The service was very good though. Wasn't horrible though. Would probably give it another chance.

I love Barburrito, I go there on every lunch break. Great value for money. I can barely finish a small burrito they're so huge. Great taste. And lovely staff.

This is simply the best burrito place in Cardiff. Very reasonably priced with a really good selection of fillings! So easy to come here with friends, alone and as a pit stop/take away, I won't be going to any other burrito bar any time soon.

Oh my goodness if you love burritos this is the place to go! Cardiff has quite a few burrito restaurants now, but this is by far the best one! The staff are great; really friendly, chat to you about not just burritos which is rare these days, people just do their job and stop. The atmosphere is great with very fitting music and a view of st Davids so you can people watch to your hearts desire.Let's get down to the nitty gritty THE FOOD! Lots of options, variety of flavours and strengths of chilli and you can have not one but two fillings. Everyone's a winner!

I wasn't sure what to have and the friendly and helpful staff directed me to a naked super food burrito which fitted what I wanted perfectly. 10/10 would recommend to a friend and will definitely come again

Staff wear more than helpfull and food was great, reading some of these reviews, people are complaining about hidden costs, I looked at the menu bored like anyone does and clearly knew how much I was spending it wasn't hard 6.50 add 50 = 7 pound, that was the extent of hidden charges on my part, when you go to mcdonalds you don't ask how much things are before ordering as it's not there job to tell you everything on the menu you check yourself before hand, don't run before you can walk and take a look at the menu before you decide, all in all great experience and would defiantly go again and again plus destroys all other burrito bars as everything is fresh made!!

Popped in with my daughter for a change whilst out shopping. Although there was plenty of choice of burrito fillings, we both found our burritos average and not as good as we've had elsewhere. Staff were friendly though.

In Cardiff shopping need a top up saw Barburrito never eat there before liked the look and smells coming from within, so took a punt and both Marilyn and i really enjoyed the experience. Plenty of fillings to choose from and varying level spice and heat to suit everyone's tastes. I had Chicken and chorizo and all the bits to with it ( you pick what goes in the burrito Marilyn had a pulled pork with added chorizo and we shared very nice too, worthy of a try out if you are in Cardiff, looking to fill a hole.

I've been to Barburrito several times, despite preferring Mission, it has a good location in town and my kids like it.However I was very disappointed on my recent visit. I decided for the first time to try nachos, normally customers are told what costs extra which is useful as there's no menus on the table and you can feel rushed to order at the counter. I chose to go for beef (believing it was included) and was then charged at the til.The woman serving me at the til said I should been told it was extra however despite her and the team leader admitting it was the servers fault they refused to knock the charge off or make me something included in the original price. I was told that I should have read the clear signs and should known better if I'd been before! Guac isn't included in burritos but is in nachos, it was an honest mistake thinking beef was too.Their website commit to replying to any feedback within 48 hours however it's been a week and nothing. The staff need training and customers need to watch the pricing, there are many hidden extras.Think I'll try Tortilla (2 min walk away) next time

Based in the food hall of this indoor shopping centre this a good place to order and sit down for a well packed burrito. Lots of options available for fillings and it tasted great. My only gripe would be that the chicken was cut into square pieces which looked a bit processed!

Went for lunch on a Sunday. Not too busy and were served straight away. Really friendly staff. The food was to die for! Best guacamole ever! Even bought 2 tubs to take home! Will definitely be coming back....a lot!

Came across here while shopping in Cardiff. They have a lot of choice for those who don't like burritos. I must say our order of tacos was quite slow but they made up for this by giving us free churros which I highly recommend.

While shopping in the center a fancied trying this burrito bar, I have mixed thoughts, the food was tasty but the menu is very confusing, a meal for two with drinks came to £32, which was very expensive for what we had, bordering on robbery. We went for the 'naked' dish, with the food on a plate without any wraps. I opted for the spicy beans and hot salsa sauce which was nice, hot enough to be interesting without hurting, whilst the other half had mild everything which was actually very bland in flavour. So as far as I was concerned the food was good, the only thing is there was very little meat, I think I found 3 pieces but there must have been more...and the portions were small, so I really don't rate this place for value. The service was good but with massively varied interaction with the staff, some of which were excellent and others that quite frankly didn't seem to give a beep! The actual service was very fast, although we did have a weird situ at the end of the line where we bought some bottles of coke and asked for an extra cup. The girl dropped a cup on the floor and then told us that was the last one, sorry! This was before the lunchtime rush, so found that very weird.Looking at the very varied reviews for this place (didn't check it out beforehand) it looks to me as if the management could do with investing a little time and money into getting all their staff up to scratch as well as reviewing their 'mingy with the meat' policy.

Don't readily hand out 1 star reviews, but this establishment really went out of their way to earn it.Ordered take away via Deliveroo. Was called by the restaurant ten minutes after ordering that they were out of rice but would send free tortilla chips. Rice being one of the main ingredients of a burrito I obviously asked them to cancel as they were incapable of fulfilling the order.Fourty minutes later there's a delivery cyclist outside my door claiming that the restaurant had refunded the order so the food was free. They hadn't refunded or informed deliveroo that the order was cancelled. I refused the food.Deliveroo inform me that I received the order and they won't refund.I know a scam when I see one. Deliveroo now understand what a charge back is. I sincerely hope this cost is passed onto this pathetic excuse of an operation.If this is the standard they operate to, I can only imagine how bad their food and hygiene issues are.AVOID AVOID AVOID

Had lunch on a very busy sunday on lead up to Christmas. Very good service. Greats selection of food to choose from. Really tasty food. Very filling. Definitely would go vack again. Tidy.

Second time I've been here and enjoyed the food even more. Had a regular burrito which was very filling. There appears to be a lot of negative comments about this place, I'm not sure what people expect from a fast food restaurant. I thought everything was good: service, cleanliness, quality of ingredients and price. Come on all you haters, get real.

Visiting Cardiff for the first time we were at a loss for where to go for a quick lunchtime snack on our last day there. We had decided to have a look at St David's shopping centre and were pleased to discover a few eating places that we had never come across before. One of these was Barburrito and as I love Tex-Mex dishes, I managed to convince my other half that a burrito would be nice! She never eats them normally but this little place had a variety that substitutes the usual rice for a healthy helping of slaw. As she never eats rice this was the deal breaker! I think that this variety is called the "superfood burrito". So it was two burritos that were prepared very fast in front of our eyes, from prepared ingredients. We both chose the shredded lamb that was a special for a limited time. Offered the choice of certain other fillings as well as the strength of the chilli sauce to be added. Very quickly done as there was a lunchtime queue and grabbed a spare table to eat them from.And the verdict? Generous filling that was fine for super fast shopping centre food court fare! Taste was OK with the tortilla wrapping being a bit leathery and the filling as a whole a bit on the runny side. The shredded lamb was variable in it's consistency with some pleasing chunks amongst the rest of the rather mushy meat. Mixed veg slaw was as expected. Cost, £7.60 each. Did we enjoy it? Well as fast, fast food goes it was not disappointing, much as expected. Similar to the old one line school reports - " OK generally, good in parts but could do better!"Recommended? Yes, if you like tex-mex but don't expect top class food.What else could be improved? Cleaning the tables of mess left by customers was very slow and this might put some off eating here. Perhaps they are at their best when not unduly busy.

The food was bland. I'm so shocked to see all these positive reviews. I didn't rate this place at all. The pulled pork lacked flavour, was lukewarm at best, had the option of Mexican rice which tasted like nothing. The only thing that had a little bit of flavour was the cheese at the end. We also have tortilla chips with cheese sauce. Abysmal. The cheese sauce was cold and was almost transparent. No flavour whatsoever. The tortillas weren't hot, and I paid £20 for the pleasure! Avoid.

Totally impressed by service, staff are outstanding, food is delicious at super prices. Whether your sitting in or taking away, you will enjoy.

Nice new place! Decent food! Ok value for money! Good for lunch or dinner! Very helpful staff, even let us taste to see whether the beans were too spicy for us or not! Would recommend this place for anyone visiting st davids
