We were not at all impressed with Barbucci, sadly, after ordering a take away that arrived with two starters as side dishes (we ordered bhaji and got curry sides) and missing roti breads. We had doubled checked on the phone as the member of staff seemed confused so were disappointed with so many issues. On top of these issues the biryanis were like a vegetable stew with a small amount of spice mixed in and all of the curries were pleasant but pretty bland.

We ordered a takeaway for 6 people from Barbucci. The food took less than half an hour to prepare, and they got a large order spot on. We even had an extra curry. All of the food was great, well-portioned too. There aren't naan breads on the menu, but they do serve tasty chapati breads. Overall very good value and would certainly return.

Ever been to a curry house with no naan breads? I have! It’s this place Unbelievable.......Had a good wait for collection because the guy serving was also cooking. Told me 2 staff missing because of COVID and all that business Ordered various and 2 were wrong. Ordered balti masala and a medium lamb dish, they put the cream and coconut milk from the balti masala in the medium lamb dish. Unfortunately thus made both the dishes pretty much inedible. Overall the standard of quality was very low. Maybe I’m a curry snob? If so I never learn my lesson and keep trying these crappy little Indian restaurants in seaside towns. Maybe one day I’ll learn? On a positive note there is some fantastic restaurants in Tenby (not Indian) definitely try stables and the blue ball, excellent. Also try Sunday roast at billycan’s, excellent stuff See, I’m not that evil!!!!!

We came here after recommendations a few weeks ago and had an amazing curry, so we thought we’d try again while we had friends visiting.Well what a totally different experience! What was supposed to be naan was what I can only describe as store bought tortilla wraps smeared in fat, and in fact one had mould on it.The food was nowhere near the same standard as the first curries we had before and we were extremely disappointed, they were very sweet and bland and the portions were smaller and not as full with meat.I don’t know whether they have changed the staff or whether their standards have just lowered but this certainly didn’t feel like it was freshly cooked to our tastes.A total embarrassment and we will not be visiting again.

We are on holiday in Tenby and with lockdown still a bit stricter here in Wales we knew we would be cooking or having takeaways. Fancied a curry and this did not disappoint. Staff are super friendly and food was ready to collect in 30mins. The curries, rices and breads were all delicious and the bottle of red chucked in was a lovely treat. It looks very unassuming from outside but inside the décor is lovely so when it is able to reopen for eating in it would be great to go again!

We ordered a takeaway for three. To be fair it was a decent curry but the strangest naan bread I have ever seen! We asked for a coconut naan but when we opened the foil bag there was a tortilla wrap with a smear of coconut sauce! They obviously didn't have any naan bread but rather than tell us they chucked in a tortilla and charged us for a naan. Not sure what's going on in that kitchen?

I went here a year ago and it was the best indian id ever had. We were so excited to go for my birthday this march and pre booked on the wednesday for the saturday evening 7th march. Phoned up to pre book and they booked us in fine. Turned up (after 25min taxi from bluestone!) and the doors were shut no sign up looked completely closed. Another couple were there standing outside aswell saying they had pre booked and had no idea what was going on either amd why it was completely closed!! Tried phoning the business phone number and no answer everytime. If there was an emergency youd think theyd get someone to put sign up or somethimg on the door. No message up on their facebook page either. Apalling service and ruined my birthday weekend.

Managed to get a table in the Bay of Bengal where we had a lovely meal so birthday evening not completely ruined.

We have visited this restaurant 4 times in the past when on our mini break away, and it’s been fantastic. However this restaurant has gone under a noticeable change, our visit today was appalling. The service was terrible, we waiting 20 minutes to be handed a food menu, after asking. Then when ordering the drinks/food the lady didn’t know how to operate the IPad, and asks us multiple times where do we find the products on the iPad system. After ordering 5 minutes later we were told that “we no longer have Nan Breads as the chef doesn’t do them anymore” An Indian restaurant which doesn’t have nan bread, what an absolute joke. Moving on, 30 minutes later we were asked if we was ready for food, we all politely said yes please. Plates arrived at our table pipping hot. The food then arrived 10 minutes after that the plates were cold. Half of the dishes arrived at the table, and my partners did not, after eating a little food we queried on the missing dish, apparently the order didn’t go through. The dish was then given to us after we have all finished. There was no communication between anyone in this restaurant. The kitchen staff laughed and joked around, while the waitress staff just looked confused and fed up. Unbelievable rude, not one apology to us. We asked for the bill straight away, the attitude and vibe was shocking, more concerned about closing and throwing us out. This is extremely disappointed to see because this experience was appalling, and I will not be returning again. Gone from hero to zero Indian restaurant. What a joke. Poor service. Poor quality of food. NO NAN BREAD... May as well turn into a pub food restaurant but there again they sell nan bread when you order a curry!!

I visited here 04/03/2020, it was my first experience but I had been told by several people how amazing the food was. We booked a table for 7:30, were immediately seated and given no menus. We had to ask for menus. Two young girls were serving us alongside a larger party of people. When they finally came to ask what drinks we would like, when we asked for a bottle of rosé ... the girl asked us where she would find that on the menu (tablet). This continued throughout the whole meal, not one of the servers knew where to find anything on their tablets. Having taken the drinks orders, she returned and we asked if she could take our food orders as it was coming up at least 20/30 minutes of us being there. We asked for poppadoms and a tray to share, without allowing us to finish, she said “sure I’ll get those now” and disappeared. During this time, the table next to us which was a party of at least 10 people, had already had their orders taken for both starters and mains, even though they’d come in after us. When the girl returned with the poppadoms, she put them down and disappeared before we could order food. Eventually, we were asked whether we wanted our plates taken away, to which we simply asked if we could have our orders for our mains taken as we had easily been there 45mins. When taking the orders, the girl had no idea what dishes we wanted, no idea what rices they did, didn’t understand the different curries on the menu and kept forgetting what we asked for. We tried giving the servers the benefit of the doubt as we too, are all young and work in customer service, but this was beginning to be appalling. Our orders were taken and she eventually returned to our table to tell us “the owner said we aren’t doing naan breads so we have these ciabatta things that I think are basically the same but I don’t know. I don’t know what the owner is doing with his menu, he’s just changing it all”. Ciabattas are nothing like naan breads, but the server continued to tell us they were. We only asked for two to test them out. When the food eventually came, the server had no idea what dishes she had in her hand, started making names up of curries and saying “I think this is the...” there were 4 of us eating together, 3 of us received our meals together and the 4th never arrived. We were basically finished when we had to ask the girl where the 4th dish was, she had no idea, asked the owner and then returned to say “haha, the tablet froze and the order wasn’t taken”. The dish eventually turned up alongside some ciabattas which were laughable. Essentially, they were Tesco’s wholewheat wraps. The funniest bit, the second lot of ciabattas didn’t look remotely the same as the first, they came out as white wraps that looked like leftover pancakes. The curries were lukewarm, the chicken was odd and we were never asked once how our meal was, whether we needed anything else or to even enjoy the food. We ended up asking the server for the bill with food still on the table. They made us walk to the till, didn’t really want to show us the bill but we demanded to see it. They tried to charge us for more ciabattas than we had asked for, however, they did take the ciabattas off in the end. We weren’t given a closing remark or thanked for having food there. 10/10 worst experience. It’s a shame as the guests I went with are regulars and go here every year. Definitely wouldn’t return.

Well where to start, on arrival we were shown to our table and given no food menu to look at, 10 minutes later I had to ask for food menus for our table. When taking our drinks order I ordered a bottle of Rose, to be responded by "where would I find that on the tablet?" It was very apparent that the waitresses were new however it was very noticeable that they had very little or no training in customer interaction or the job in learning the meals/menu whatsoever which let the service down. Finally it came to ordering food where I asked for some popadums and chutney tray where the waitress left to go get them and never actually took our food order until at least 20 minutes later! So we ordered our food, very poor food. Firstly when we placed our order we asked for some naan breads which was all ok until the waitress then returned to say they no longer make naan bread? An indian restaurant with no naan bread? Also stating on the menu if you order a balti it offers a complimentary naan bread. When we asked about alternatives she said there was not much difference between a naan and a chapatti as we didnt really know, however on arrival the "chapatti" was a tortilla wrap you buy from a supermarket toasted!!! Then onto the main, one party left waiting until after all other parties had finished their food before receiving their curry to go with their rice which then had gone cold so had to eat their curry on their own. Some of the chicken was chewy, and some even of the curries tasted shop bought! its such a shame as we loved going to this Indian as it was a hidden gem and would look forward to it when visiting tenby, well not anymore as it had certainly changed for the worse. I would recommend the bay of bengal on the front for a good curry now! Very poor knowledge from staff, dirty floor, untasteful food, overcharged on final bill, and to top it off there was a graffiti of a penis on the wall next to where I was sat, not very nice to see in a meal. do not recommend, could not wait to leave.

the night was going nicely and the food was lovely aswell as the service by staff. But at around 9pm the owner demanded all the staff out of the kitchen into the restaurant and switched off the lights, this man then proceeded to parade the young waitress around the restaurant against her will and questioning patrons on her quality of service. disrupting their meals and embarrassing the poor girl. she had already attempted to leave the restaurant but was demanded to come back in and to sit down. as she reached out table she was visibly distraught and upset yet this man proceeded to coax her around like a display or as he referred to it as a "show". He then referred to his colleague as the "little brown one" when trying to pawn off the responsibility for his actions. he'd continue to shout at patrons to get out and not come back. genuinely would not be surprised if this man has mental issues or suffering from substance abuse but his attitude towards his staff and specifically the young girl working there was appalling and horrible. it was a disgusting display of misogynistic behavior and an abuse of power as his staff had to go along with his show if they wanted to keep their jobs.

I am appalled by the behaviour of the boss and how he treated his staff, he was rude to many customers telling them to “get out” and “don’t come back” when we all left. Everyone was shocked at his behaviour while he stopped everyone eating to preform a show which everyone thought Was extremely weird and it made everyone uncomfortable and he humiliated the staff when he turned down the lights and decided to force an underage waitress to walk around while shaking and upset she told the boss she didn’t want to do it many times and the other members of staff stepped in and also told him that the waitress clearly didn’t want to do the show but he didn’t care he told his members of staff to “shut up”. Staff were helpful but the curries were bland, or in one case incredibly salty, and one naan arrived with clumps of uncooked dough inside. It's a real shame it seems to have become so inconsistent, perhaps chefs differ from one night to the next as a lot of the FoH staff are the same as when it's been much better.

Restaurant down a flight of stairs below ground dim lighting hides the tired well worn decor, talking with the manager by his own admission stated that it was hard to get Bengali chefs and that he was running the place with 5 staff instead of 10 staff. Well, we have been overwehlmed by the selection - but all choices were very good. The service was very friendly, the place was clean. Don't worry, because you have to go downstairs - it doesnt feel like it once you are down :-). I can recommend it!

I read reviews about Barbucci last week. It was hard to find and off the beaten track but omg what a surprise! We went downstairs and the place is amazing! It’s so unexpected when you look at it from outside. Beautiful white wash walls, vaulted ceilings, chilled atmosphere and the food is best Indian I’ve eaten. I love Indian food and really enjoy it when I get it as it’s rare I order it as my husband isn’t a huge fan of Indian food. We got a takeaway Saturday night last and it was just gorgeous, not too heavy, plenty of veg, the serving was plenty and Garlic naan was freshest I ever had! Best Indian food by far I’ve Ever eaten!

Called last minute on a Saturday to book a table for 2 and was fitted in no problem, when we arrived the place was busy (always a good sign!) but didn't feel chaotic. The atmosphere is very relaxing and chilled, it is in an underground basement setting but feels cosy and the decor is beautiful. We were taken to our table and our waitress was very helpful and friendly throughout the night. The portion sizes are perfect, you get quite a bit of meat in both the starters and the main meals and the rice is just enough for 1 person, not too overbearing so food doesn't go to waste which I liked. I had the lamb bhuna which is one of the best curries I've had! Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family staying in Tenby or nearby for a lovely meal, and if we came back in future we would no doubt return! Thank you Barbucci.

I’m not a massive fan of an Indian takeaway because you normally get that fatty, greasy taste but from the moment we stood outside and smelled it, my mind was changed!!

Spent time reading the reviews and decided to give this place a try for a takeaway, but what a disappointment it was. The cost really did not reflect in the quality of the food, although it was edible it was completely tasteless. £40 for x3 pilau rice, x1 garlic naan, x2 peshwari naan, x1 chicken makhani, x2 chicken tikka masala. I would not return and would not recommend.

We had a family celebration in Tenby this weekend and visited Barbucci. I have to say it was my worst eating experience in a restaurant. Whilst the food was tasty, the staff were unfriendly and rude and all in all made for a sour experience. We had the buffet which consisted of 4 chicken dishes, trays of breads, chips, salad, popadoms, sauces. I quizzed the manager on wether there were any other options, to be told people in tenby only eat chicken and did not like prawns and they were not offering 125 dishes on the menu for £11. No professional customer service, no suggestion that there was another menu and I could order to top up dishes from there to supplement. Later when I asked for the dessert menu I was rudely advised it wasn’t included and was an additional charge, I advised that was not an issue. It turns out though that out of the 7 items available they only had two options for us, surprising on a 5 pm sitting. We declined the dessert offer and entered into what I would call a debate about the fact that I had an issue with the manager- unprofessional in my view, just because I questioned if they were any other options available for the buffet (as what was there meat wise was scarce in comparison to the bountiful trays of rice and bread and popadoms.) It was not made clear to us on booking that the buffet was very limited otherwise we would have chosen a different restaurant at the start. We ate in a fantastic restaurant the previous night (a good review to follow)and with starters, mains (with seafood options) and drinks the bill was not much different so this was not about price. The attitude from the staff was rude, and they stated they welcomed bad reviews whilst we were paying the bill and on our exit. Clearly this restaurant (last award in 2016) is under unprofessional management and ownership and needs a few pointers on how to treat its customers!

Have visited this restaurant numerous times over the years to both dine in and take away. Every time the food has been delicious. Our most recent visit was for a family takeaway for four. Everybody thoroughly enjoyed. The menu choice used to be huge, almost too big - the recent menu refinement has improved things, if that was possible as the food has always been good. My favourite curry house in 10b.

Where we come from we are spoiled by excellent Indian restaurants so we were not too sure...wow. the food we had here was superb. My wife has to have mild food and she found it a real change that she didn't have to have a Korma or a tikka but what she had fitted the bill just right. I had a superb dish on the medium list. Nice venue and friendly service. If you are lucky enough to be in tenby. Give the buccaneer a break for one night and go here. It was excellent. Not just good.

Firstly the waitress could barely speak English and despite being asked to bring all the food to the table at one time we received the onion bhajee as a starter which was off putting especially as it was mostly fried gram flour with little hint of onion. I then ordered Half a Tandoori chicken and a chana dal. Well when this arrived the chana dal (Im using their spelling) was whole chick peas not split chana lentles as it should be. The Chicken I doubt had ever seen the inside of a tandoor. It may have been marinaded but had absolutely no flavour. it tasted like a flaccid supermarket deli offering but less so. The service was ok but when challenged on the quality was met with blank stairs and thereafter deliberate ignoring of and signals or requests for further service, In summery this was a good restaurant in the past but under new management has deteriorated in both quality and service and therefore value,

We’ve just had a couple of days in the resort and after a Pub Meal decided on an indian. This is just off th3 beaten track but wel” worth finding. The Service and Food were sumptuous even for a couple of fussy eaters (children). Do get the full chutney tray as it is well worth it and the Peshwari NaN was excellent. Strongly recommend the food in very relaxing surroundings and superb service which incorporates an open-kitchen.

I was recommended this restaurant by several people in Tenby and after reading the reviews i decided to give it a try. I looked at their website and looked at the menu which looks great. After a fairly long walk to get there that evening i found the place was shut. There was a notice on the door saying the kitchen was being refurbished and they would be closed for about 4 weeks if i remember correctly.

The Sunday buffet starts at 5pm. We went yesterday and had a lovely meal. We were shown to our table and told to help ourselves. There was a choice of Gobi aloo dhal, pilau rice, chicken madras, chicken and mushroom bhona, chicken korma, chicken tikka massala, chicken shashlik, chips, Nan bread, poppadoms, onion bhajee, veg samosa, dips and salad. We had a bit of everything and it was very tasty. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we would happily go again. I don't know if they do the same dishes each week or if it varies. The only negative I can think of is that it was all chicken. Great for me as it's my favourite but others may expect some beef or lamb dishes. Price is £11.90 each.

What looked like the entrance to a brick shed with a grotty door was in fact the entrance to the restaurant. Barbucci said the sign, but The Hilton Basement was what I was looking for.

On our last day in Tenby over Christmas we picked up one portion of made to order curry paste to cook our own curry at home and it was absolutely delicious! One portion was more than enough for two. Really fresh tasting and Nora took the time to give us instructions on how to cook it. We are back down next week and will be ordering a full takeaway for dinner, can't wait!!
