Barbakan in York

Decouverte de la gastronomie polonaise, nous nous sommes régalés (porc à la marjolaine et abricot divin) pour un prix raisonnable. Très bien placé dans le centre. Resa conseillée !

Un délice mais il vaut mieux y aller le midi en ayant rien mangé le matin ou le soir si on a rien mangé de la journée, les quantités sont copieuses! Mais c'est un régal !

Locale molto piccolo, quindi meglio prenotare e tener conto che la cucina chiude alle 21, quindi meglio prevedere di andare a cenare al max alle 20.00

Fuimos a cenar en familia algunos conocian el lugar, para otros era la primera vez y quedamos muy contentos, ya que llos platos estaban buenisimos con productos de buena calidad, bien cocinados, recetas originales y muy buenas.

Co za żenująca gościnność absolutnie zachowanie godne pożałowaniem . Ten ktoś kto zmierzył nas wzrokiem zaraz na wejściu odrazu nas wyprosił wręcz wyrzucił informując ze jaki kolejek stolik będzie wolny za 2 h . Może i by to mogła być prawda ale restauracja był pusta . Odwiedzamy York dość regularnie i na pewno nigdy nie zaproponuje nikomu tego miejsca a tym bardziej grupom turystycznym które szukaj dobrej kuchni . No cóż nigdy się nie dowiedzą o istnieniu takiego miejsc . Szkoda czasu .

Centerからは少し離れていますが、リーゾナブルで美味しいレストランです。夕食はお腹いっぱいになったので、翌日、デザートだけを楽しみに出向きました。

Barbakan non delude -- l'unica cosa è che è sempre molto affollato e il personale impegnato quindi a volte il servizio ne risente. Questa volta abbiamo finalmente provato anche le loro torte e devo dire veramente ottime!!

Hoewel een gewone donderdagavond, toch hadden we voor de zekerheid maar gereserveerd. En maar goed ook, alle tafeltjes waren bezet. Terwijl we de kaartbestudeerden kwamen de eerste volle borden langs en besloten we het voorafje maar te laten voor het was en alleen een hoofdmaaltijd te nemen. Een wijze beslissing, oor ons was een hoofdmaaltijd meer dan genoeg. En lekker dat die was, we hebben gesmuld. En dat voor een prijs waar je in Nederland dit soort eten echt niet krijgt. In Malaga hadden ze van mij meteen een Genietadvisorsticker gekregen.

和朋友来吃午餐，点了波兰饺子吃不太习惯，竟然有土豆馅儿的饺子？？另外一个什么炖牛肉也不太好吃又咸又酸…最后点了块橱窗里卖的比较好的蓝莓蛋糕，很好吃奶香浓郁。价格还行，主菜味道一般。

We visited twice while in York. A great breakfast. Full English, scrambled eggs with brioche, polish toast with egg and bacon. Very good food

I went with my family around 2pm last week. With only 2 tables full we were shown to a table by a waiter. We asked for a place by the window and he said fine. We were given the menu and the waiter started cleaning tables behind us. After he finished cleaning 2 - 3 tables in an empty restaurant i asked politely if he could clean our table. He complained that we should have sat at the table he wanted us to sit at and he continued to make sarcastic comments such as 'Is that clean enough for you?' Not just once but 2-3 times. I could take rudness 2-3 times since I was with family and they were tired but with his cloth he pushed food on to my father and left the table completely sticky and dirty. So he knew our table was dirty as soon as we sat but was still cleaning empty table before cleaning our table 5 minutes after sitting. I had to repeatedly ask his name so i could write a letter of complaint. Unsurprisingly he wouldn't even say his first name. After a minute of this he instead gets the manager and i make a compliant to her. After traveling everywhere from mexico to thailand I have never known anything like this guy. It is a shame. Neither my family or friends will be a regular at such a disgusting place.

Nie wiem jak ktoś może kojarzyć to miejsce z domem! Zamówiłam chłodnik który smakował jak woda z octem! dalej,placki ziemniaczane które nie przypominały placków tylko zbita breję ziemniaczana z solą! Pierogi które zamiast sera i ziemniaków miały w sobie ciemna rozwodniona masę! a to wszystko pod kilogramem soli! Nie wiem gdzie kucharz zgubił smak! Czy jest osoba paląca? Wstyd! Państwo naprawdę są z Krakowa? (tak Mi powiedziała kelnerka)

We had a family meal here the night before the wedding and it was fabulous. Everything was delicious, from the mussels to the pork loin, and the portions were so generous it's a shame we weren't going home the next morning or we would have asked for doggy bags for the leftovers. We certainly had no room for the very tempting cakes and pastries, sadly. The bill was reasonable too. Definitely one to revisit.

I had lovely spinach Pierogi, fresh Scottish mussels, and apple and cinnamon pie for the dessert. Everything beautifully presented and tasted very fresh! It was my 3rd visit, and I found it never disappoints me.

I returned and tried different dishes. All very nice. Especially the cabbage roll stuffed with minced beef. The sauce was amazing. The cake was too nice. Little bit pricey, but food is good so I don't mind. This is one of the best restaurants in York.

12日の夜に訪問しました。金曜日の夜なので、他のレストランも同じですが満席で、予約なしの人は断られていました。料理の名前はとても発音できないのですが、ホタテにベーコンを巻いたもの、巨大な餃子、ソーセージとキャベツをくりぬいたパンに詰めたものをいただきました。どれも素朴な味でしたが、気のせいか東欧の味がしました。

We ate twice a steak sandwich with polish pickles for lunch super tender and tasty with great chips and then next evening tried their chicken kebabs which were juicy and tasty.All the portions are generous and freshly made a treat by todays standards.The staff are super friendly and prices very reasonable go and enjoy.Thank you Barbakan for helping us enjoy a weekend in York.

Un petit restaurant bien sympa dans le centre ville de York. Nous y sommes allé sur recommendation d'un ami. Nous avons pris les pancakes hongrois et c'etait vraiment délicieux. Le seul point négatif était l'un des serveurs (ou peut être le patron) très peu aimable dès notre arrivée et ce jusqu'à la fin du repas

Kolejny raz odwiedziliśmy York ale po raz pierwszy byliśmy w Barbakanie. Pełna sala ludzi w środowy wieczór stanowiła dobrą wróżbę. Udało nam się pomimo braku rezerwacji znaleźć stolik. Zamówiliśmy ruskie pierogi okraszone śmietaną ze szczypiorkiem na starter ,które sprawiły, że poczuliśmy się jak w rodzinnym domu. Na główne danie nie mogliśmy się już doczekać po takim początku. Mąż zamówił placek po węgiersku a ja schab z morela. Cóż by pisać jeśli i tak to nie odda smaku który pozostał na podniebieniu jeszcze długo po wyjściu z restauracji. A deser tort jagodowy migdałowy był dopełnieniem całości. Znakomita obsługa , niepowtarzalny klimat i przystępne ceny. To wszystko sprawia ,że polecam Wam koniecznie odwiedzenie tego miejsca.

Normally a friendly place on this occasion the waiters were gruff and mono syllabic. Even when we were paying there was no smiles, no come again, no thanks or goodbye. Well it is goodbye from us we will not be back

Een Pools restaurant in York hadden we niet verwacht, voor ons een reden om het te proberen. De bediening is uiterst vriendelijk, de toelichting op de menukaart duidelijk, en het eten smaakte voortreffelijk.Ook de wijnkaart had een verrassende keuze.Alles bij elkaar, een restaurant dat ik kan aanraden.

買い物に行く途中で見つけて気になっていたのでランチに行って来ました。スープオブザデイとカプチーノ、ケーキを頼みました。スープはガスパチョでした。先日見た時はフィッシュスープでした。少し暑い日でしたので、冷たいスープはとても喉越しがよく美味しかったです。コーヒーはilly。ケーキは甘すぎずとても美味しくて気に入りましたが、ちょっと高いです。

Nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, tasty food, I was very satisfied.Beetroot soup tasted almost like medicinal (in a good way), Pierogi was very nice, and all homemade pickles! I liked the polish plates as well. I'll visit there again soon.

Jedzenie było pyszne a szczególnie tort robiony przez właściciela był mistrzostwem świata (ukłon w stronę kuchni), a obsługa kelnerska bardzo profesjonalna. Wszyscy nasi goście byli zachwyceni smakiem dan ktore wczesniej ustalilismy z włascicielami. Bez wachania wybralibyśmy ponownie Barbakan i serdecznie polecamy na różne okazje. I visited here for breakfast on Saturday Morning, and it was excellent. Very tasty too, and excellent service too. The portion was very big also, and I ended up leaving some, but the food was verytasty.

A friend and I went to Barbakan on Monday with our young babies. We went after the lunch rush and checked that there was plenty of empty space in the cafe before going in with our prams. We tried to be as unobtrusive as possible and park the prams at the back of the restaurant to avoid being in the way. Nothing was said to us until after we had unwrapped the babies on what was a very wet afternoon and had got ourselves seated. Only then did the waitress come over and say that we were in her way and should have phoned ahead to book as we were causing an obstruction. Having been to Barbakan many times in the past and having encouraged my friend to go there on the basis of it being a welcoming place I was shocked and disappointed by the waitress' reaction to us. We were made to feel so uncomfortable that we left straight away and will not be returning.

Fidandomi delle buonissime recensioni ho deciso di andare insieme ad un amico per pranzo.Per lunch c'è un menù a parte e più ridotto rispetto al menu serale, con prezzi ovviamente più bassi.Essendo questo un ristorante polacco ho voluto provare uno dei piatti polacchi (nel menu pranzo erano proposti anche delle insalate, o piatti italiani). Ho scelto dei raviolini fritti, metà con un ripieno di carne e metà con un ripieno di formaggi (ero curiosa di assaggiarli di entrambi i ripieni), serviti con della crema acida (buonissima!). Che dire... quei ravioli erano spettacolari! Fortuna mi son contenuata, ma avrei quasi rifatto il bis! Bellissima anche la presentazione del piatto!Inoltre c'è una vasta scelta di dessert, tutti dall'aspetto molto invitante! Io ho optato per una sorta di mini crostata al miele e mandorle.. Molto buona, forse un pò troppo dolce per i miei gusti.Il ragazzo che ci ha servito era molto simpatico. Il locale è piccolino ma molto accogliente! Andate e non vi pentirete!

Очень уютный ресторанчик. Ходили с коллегами семьями (были в том числе дети, есть стульчики для маленьких детей), в нашей компании было 10 человек - заняли половину места:) Лучше бронировать заранее.Еда очень вкусная, всем особенно понравились pierogi - жареные вареники с мясом.Единственный минус - внутри было довольно душно и все пропитались запахом еды, но еды вкусной:)

Расположен в стороне от центра. Кухня смешанная - польско-венгерско-непонятно какая, но плохого в этом я ничего не нахожу. Понравился гуляш, и, хотя я не полностью уверен, что это был аутентичный венгерский гуляш, было вкусно. Столик желательно заказывать заранее, особенно для ужина в выходные дни

I usually eat here at lunch time as it is good value for money and the Bavarian potato pancake is delicious. We usually get a table at lunch time and the atmosphere is very relaxed. The cakes look very nice but i'm usually too full to eat one - maybe one day!! Highly recommend this place.

Everything at the Barbakan is perfect - friendly customer service, a cosy and intimate atmosphere, and outstanding food! All for a reasonable price! Definitely recommend!!

The Barbakan is famous for its big portions. In addition, their food is very delicious and a great change to regular eating out in York. Service is lovely and quick.

My friend, who lives in York, booked Barbakan for a meal whilst I was visiting her for the weekend. This is a lovely little authentic restaurant, the food is great and the staff are welcoming. I would recommend visiting if you want to try something different, it's a great alternative to boring chain restaurants.

Can't wait to go back next week, just popped in on the off chance for a quick lunch with my son but we loved it, (he is autistic and not always keen to hang around) he had what may sound a bit boring, a cheese and smoked ham sandwich, and I had wild mushroom soup, a lovely coffee and an apple and cinnamon tart with ice cream and fresh raspberries...wow...we didn't want to leave and the music made it...thank you.
