Baravin in Ceredigion

I had a really tasty vegan dinner and despite it being a grey rainy Monday evening the staff were friendly and attentive and food came through quickly. 5*

Gareth is a great host - the food was lovely - well at least my mushroom ragu was - the wine was great but overall it made me feel relaxed and welcome

We were lucky to get a table for a late lunch. Quick and friendly service from Izzy with water supplied without us asking which I always appreciate. I had a superb vegan burger (£15) with a lovely smoky sauce. The chips were nothing special but my daughter's buffalo mozzarella pizza (£10.50) was totally perfect and authentic with - thin, with a great sauce and not overloaded with cheese.

Food, service and prices excellent. Really relaxed atmosphere even though fully booked both nights we eat there. Food was cooked to order, crispy pizza, local ingredients. Can highly recommend but do make sure you book as walk ins are at a premium.

Contrary to reviews they don't allow dogs (phoned February 2024)

Servers were standoffish and unprofessional Ordered a pizza and they didn’t put any cheese on it, I think they were going for half a ball of mozzarella for a large pizza which is just a joke.

Absolute gem of a place 1 min walk from our hotel, lovely Welsh speaking staff fish and chips to die for especially the mushy peas.

Visited this restaurant twice for breakfast during a stay in Aberystwyth and each time the food was first rate, and the staff were friendly, attentive and efficient. So glad we tried the place and would certainly recommend without hesitation.

Booked a table for 4 people. Lovely welcome as usual from Gareth and the staff. Ordered Tortilla Chips, Charcuterie and Pigs in Blankets as starters. The tortilla chips were freshly made and came with guacamole, sour cream and salsa, the charcuterie was huge and the pigs in blankets were amazing. We all opted for the minute steak with chips. A good sized steak and lovely tasty chips. A lovely meal and drinks and such a warm welcome from the staff as usual. Diolch Gareth a'r tim am y croeso.

Ate here with a family group of 12. Had to pre order which meant we missed out on the specials. Unfortunately the menu we had was very basic & uninteresting. Who wants to pay £15 for fish x chips & a drink. Carbonara served with a breast of chicken ?? On the other hand the service was good, food was hot & the place had a good atmosphere.

I had such a good lunch here. I sat inside as it was a bit windy. I enjoyed the food and the service was friendly and quick.

Loved this place, great atmosphere! Visited on 23.09.23. Beautiful restaurant, with great outdoor seating! Every staff member I came into contact with was super friendly and helpful- an example was when I wasn't sure about the house red and the gentleman at the bar let me taste- can confirm 2 glasses later it was a lovely, light and fruity red! Unfortunately, kitchen was closing at 2.30pm so weren't able to try the food.. Great work, Baravin team- diolch yn fawr!x

Lovely views, a convenient location, fast service, and excellent food! I visited for lunch two days in a row during my stay in town because of how impressed I was with the quality of the meals and their generous portions. My favorite dish I had here was the wild mushroom ragu, which was incredibly rich and savory!

As guests of friends we did not know what to expect except their recommendation. We were absolutely not disappointed Baravin was a great relaxed place to dine, the staff were friendly, engaging and super efficient. It was graduation week in Aber so the restaurant was full, good job the table was pre-booked. Food was very good with decent portion sizes. I would say casual dining and this with the ambiance etc made it a special evening.

Tasty good. Good no fuss gluten free options. Good service. All round it was a lovely night for a big family get together.

Nice venue and good service but the food was really disappointing. Three of us ordered the vegan burger which was bland, dull and expensive. There is no excuse these days to make poor vegan food, especially something as simple as a burger.

We visited Baravin on Friday 7th July after seeing the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Google. We had the poached eggs and bacon on sourdough toast, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and smashed avocado on sourdough toast, Fish & Chips with Mushy Peas and a Fish Burger with Chips. All the dishes were flavoursome and delicious. Though their price was higher than average, the quality was definitely above average. Coupled with the excellent location with a view over the waterfront and the good service, Baravin is a great place to eat! For drinks we had lemonade, sparkling water, Chai Latte and an Americano. The coffees were very good as well!!

Great location, service was good, food was below average. Decided to go for the cheeseburger, if you like your burgers tough and overcooked then this is the place for you. Very disappointing.

First went here for morning coffee and came back on another day for lunch. Lovely mushroom and ham starter. We didn't manage to finish the pizza but they boxed it up for us to take away. Payment is by card only. Lovely views.

The location of this restaurant is near to the seafront. It was not value for money. I would not recommend this restaurant to others.

Came here for Valentine’s Day. We had originally booked for 19:45, but received a call at 19:00 informing us that our space at the bar was ready early, and that we could come any time. The restaurant has a peaceful feel, but not so much that you can’t talk at a normal volume. My girlfriend, who struggles with sensory issues and hearing loss was also happy with the atmosphere. It was not busy when we were there, which was surprising given the occasion. We were provided with a complimentary bottle of tap water on arrival, which was a nice welcome. Service was excellent, prompt and professional. I had a cheeseburger with bacon for my main. Chips were perfect and the burger was cooked well, and did not make the bun soggy at all. For dessert, I had the chocolate brownie with ice cream. It was served extremely quickly, and was delicious. Extremely impressive and will definitely consider returning.
