This is my local, and I’m so so happy it is. always a pleasure eating here. Finally a good lamb shish, that doesn’t smell! Great atmosphere, service and we always leave with a smile :)

Delightfull typical meals.. Our plates were full of tasty and fresh food! We recommend it 200%!

Food was exceptional even during a quiet weekend lunch service. Staff were friendly and super-attentive and the local dishes were prepared with great care and skill resulting in a succession of delicious mouthfuls. Surely one of the best Turkish restaurants in North London. Highly recommended A+++.

I visited Baran Restaurant for the first time a couple of weeks ago together with my better half. Booked a table over their website, booking works perfectly. When we entered Baran restaurant, I felt a cozy, friendly and warm welcoming atmosphere mixed with oriental music and enteriour. Restaurant staff is very friendly, polite and professional. We ordered 2 hot starters, 2 main courses and a bottle of wine. Absolutely every single bite of everything we ordered was made to a very high standard with fresh and quality ingredients. The taste of the food sent me back to the past - I visited Turkey over 50 times and I think I know Turkish cuisine. At the end, homemade baklava was just melting in the mouth, made to pure perfection. All food and drink is worth every single penny. One more thing: I truly can not understand people here complaining about prices and portion sizes. I don't think you are going to eat in the restaurant with a scale in your pocket and market checker in your phone. No. You go there to enjoy. Btw, portions are very generous and their food is not overpriced at all. I booked a table for this St Valentines - why - after asked my Mrs what she feels she want to eat, she said: I am going to Baran :)))) Cok tessekur ederim Baran Restoran !

Food was nice and tasty but I'm used to larger portions in Turkish restaurants. Staff were friendly and attentive, laid back which was nice as we were in a relaxed mode. It was a late lunch at 2 pm, so chilled environment

Easy to find location, Excellent food and services, price reasonable. Toilet clean too. Nothing to complaint about, must try if you haven't been.

Had a really pleasant meal yesterday with my brother, his wife, and her friends. We ordered 2 starters & 4 main courses. All the food, especially the kebabs, was very juicy with a lot of flavour, a little too salty for but wasn't off putting at all. Thank you for the free turkish delight & baklava. I've just relocated to the area, so I'll definitely be visiting you again, soon inshallah.

Be aware!!!!! Each time you go is a different price. With in 3 weeks a wrap is £8 then £9 then £10. It depends on your face if they like it or not if you look poor, they might give it for you for £12 but if you are young and attractive woman for free.

Each time you go, it’s a different price and the price is based usually on how you look one week it might be according to the menu prices and the next. It’s made up by whoever you pay with that’s from my personal experience.

Food was good, but nearly £24 for a chicken shish with rice and cup of tea!!! Far too expensive.

I've been visiting this restaurant for the last 20 + years and really should have left a 5 star review a long time ago, because they never fail to provide 5 star Turkish Cuisine coupled with warm Turkish hospitality. Keep it up guys, you're smashing it!

The restaurant is buzzing and glad we booked. The monkfish that we had was a Ted salty but the moussaka was nice. The meze is good. Okra taste yummy wish it was a bit hotter and not like warm. They do give u free dessert though.

Fantastic steak!!! I had mine med-rare and my friend had well done both with the homemade pepper sauce and they were both perfectly cooked. So glad we didn't go by the reviews on this place as we wouldn't of gone!! The service was spot on, the resturant was very clean. I had 2 beers and the steak for £31 we'll be back as we have a few days left here and think we've found a little gem!!

The shawarma was dry, the vegetables weren't fresh, the bread was hard and dry as well. Terrible service, didn't allow me to sit and eat my shawarma like a normal person, after sitting down and starting to eat one of the staff literally told "take away only" and that I can't eat it here, so what did I do? I ate up standing this dry shawarma and not finishing it because it was so dry and the bread was so rough it hurt me teeth.

We came here for my dads birthday. The food was amazing and the service was also amazing. The staff made us feel so welcome. We will definitely be back

Great service from yilmaz, was very polite and looked after us really well. I’ve been coming here for 15 years and yilmaz’s service is the best that I have ever seen. The food was also really amazing as usual.

I would never go to this mediocre place again. First visit to this establishment started with the manager trying to bully my 10 year old daughter to sit somewhere else on our table for her to be more comfortable! He was very insistent that she should move! I had to politely step in and tell him that she prefers to sit on that particular chair before he got more aggressive with her .. Crazy! Two minutes later he came back insisting that we should order now!! We had just settled down and didn't even have time to look at the menu properly. I politely asked for more time and he's response was that they are very busy and we needed to order now, if we are to eat here!! It was so bizarre, as the place was completely dead! I was in no shape to order yet, so again asked him if we can have more time... he was still insistent that we need to order now as our table is needed in the next hour... Such a rude arrogant manager, who has no time for his costumers... He shouldn't be in the food industry with that sort of behaviour... You would think that with all his grey hair he would have some life experience and show some humility, politeness and patience instead of the aggressive attitude. Shocking behaviour!!! of course by this time I'd seen enough of this madness, and decided to take my hard earnt money to another establishment that put costumers at the heart of their business. This place is a complete joke and should shut down since they do not wish to serve customers. Such a shame as I am new to the local area and would probably have gone there regularly if it was a good place. Never again.

When drink is spilt on the table not clean up . Then charge service £3.95 I will not go there again . Greedy slot better place then this will not spend a penny more . We had our birthday party in a place which care for their customers not see them as a money pit

Yilmaz's service was super courteous, friendly and professional. I have always found the service here to be very good - and the food is great too!

Every part of this meal was glorious. The service and welcome, the quality of the dips, especially the taramasalata and of course the tender meat that was generously portioned and cooked to perfection. To top it off we got baclava and Turkish delight as a complimentary treat after the meal.

Kebab meat was amazing. I had chicken doner. But. They don't use pitta bread here, only wraps and this wrap they used was massive. Terrible was that by the time I got to eat it, roughly five minutes or so. The wrap had dissolved so it fell all over the place. Very expensive too. £8 even for finchley this is high priced.

Mediterranean restaurant doing mostly Turkish and some Greek meals like Kleftico and Moussakka. I had Turkish which was really yummy. Cacik to start - very nice, served with charcoalled bread which was very tasty and followed by Boneless chicken thighs which were extremely succulent. They only do one dessert (rice pud) served cold but also nice taste and there is also complimentary baklava and Turkish delight. A VERY PLEASANT MEAL - THE BEST i HAVE HAD FOR A LONG TIME. Also good value. Would definitely go there again if in the area.

I have been eating from baran together with my family for so many years , and l order take away now because of the COVID we can not dine in , l miss baran so much . The food has always been great quality very fresh always .. l definitely recommend baran ...

Bought a mixed sheesh asked what I got with it he said everything my friend. Turns out you get 8 bits of meat some disgusting salad which is days old and a piece of bread! Would not recommend. If your hungry stay clear. Response for restaurant after your reply. I never complained about the price and why does me being the first customer matter? If that salad was fresh then god help someone when it is not! As for me leaving negative reviews... why would I lie about food? And why would I bother leaving a review if the food was alright? Next time actually make the salad fresh. Not leave it in a box made days ago and try and pass off as fresh. Another bit of advice... stick a bit of rice in with the meat. I had to buy food after just to fill me up. Sorry you don't like honest reviews. I won't be returning anyhow.

The restaurant we return to again and again. Good food, good portions, friendly staff. Take away or eat in. And it’s the take away you can eat and still have a healthy meal. Other Turkish restaurants come and go. This one has been there many years.

Been going to this place on and off for the last 20 years. Succulent Lamb Shish, skewered and cooked to perfection over charcoal, super salads as well as perfect breads and wraps. Always friendly and welcoming - This is a gem in the heart of Temple Fortune.

Incredible experience! Portions are rather huge and taste amazing. Staff are extremely polite and welcoming, we were given dessert and Turkish tea on the house, which was lovely. Overall great! 100% recommend.

Food ok but insufficient heed towards covid precautions Following up on your reply. We were not there for a take away. Four of us ate in the restaurant the day before the new restrictions came into force. So you could have worn masks, you could have worn gloves when bringing cutlery and glasses to the table, and also the food too. We were not asked to sign in for track and trace purposes either. I'm afraid that you have lost me as a customer after having eaten at Baran's many times. You simply have to demonstrate your commitment to taking maximum precautions at such a dangerous time. It is not enough to say we don't have to do this today because new rules don't start until tomorrow.

I had chicken doner take away which was one of the best I have had as the meat quality was very good, and it was not too salty and fatty like most of the restaurants and kebab shops. I would definitely go back again if I am in the area.

A great restaurant to taste true authenticity of turkish culinary culture.Turkish food are really great in taste.Beef based item are really good and tasty. Some of the item like iskander kabab,chicken wing platrer are good and tasty.Price of the food is quite reasonable.Their set menu feature is also great.Overall it is great experience.

This is our go to Turkish restaurant for eat in and takeaways. During lockdown we have been trying to lose weight as we are not going on holiday or going out to eat. Saturday night is our treat night ....bottle of wine and a healthy Turkish takeaway from Baran. They know us by now that we don’t like too much oil and we usually have chicken , lamb, grilled onions and sometimes we have their mixed grill.it is always hot and tasty and comes with salad , bread and sauces. We would of course recommend this restaurant if you like Turkish food.

If I start with the exact words of the Manager - " I don't care", and then lets go from there, although we probably don't have to. Restaurants are about hospitality, food , and customer service, none of which are evident in this restaurant. Cold hot dishes, and hot cold dishes hardly are a good place to start, and when one politely ( I stress ) asks for some help from a Manager who literally responds " I don't care" there surely can be no reason for anyone ever to visit. London has an abundance of great Turkish restaurants- this certainly is not one of them - go elsewhere

Great cozy place with really nice staff

I've always loved this place, great food, lovely friendly service and I love that you can see things being made on their wonderful grill... And feel the heat from our too.

This restaurant has been beautifully redecorated, the staff are more than accommodating and are so friendly every time I come! The food is fresh and never fails after 21 years of coming here.

Ordered lamacun didn't get it, ended up with lamb shank didn't ask for that. Asked for two portions of rice received one. Orders took abit long Likya has quicker service. King prawn starter was okay.

Awful service (slow) and when an order was wrong, the staff argued and said we were lying. Only went because Balady was closed.

Excellent Turkish food, felt very welcome, enjoyed starters and recommend the chicken lamb mixed shish with A top class salad and chips.

Terrible food and service, Went in for a quick lunch, ordered a dish that could have been served as chicken or lamb with chips . I asked for a mix of both, clarified “half and half” with waiter, he confirmed. Food was over cooked and hard, chips never came, restaurant tried to charge me double price and for chips that never arrived. Won’t be going back!

I visited this restaurant regularly during my childhood. The food is always fabulous, fresh and fast. I went back today after many years and the food was incredible! I had my favourite fish - lamb with yogurt and it was just as I remembered it. So amazing! Staff where so friendly, asked about family and the food was great value.
