Fantastic little cafe offering the tastiest food, cakes and coffees. Antonio and his staff were very welcoming and friendly. We loved our first visit and it cheered us up on a very cold and wet day. Cant wait to return to try the cream tea 😙

I've been going here for a very long time and have always been happy with the service and food. I booked for an afternoon tea for my granddaughter and I. It was stunning and plenty for us to eat. There was so much there that we couldn't eat it all. They kindly boxed the leftovers for us to eat at home later. They are so friendly and make sure you are happy with the service and food. I would recommend going there and try their food.

My friends talk about how much they enjoy lunch at Bar Piazza; in John Frost Square so today I joined them. They are right... It's just so relaxed. Italians, Antonio, Rosie and staff member Jamie welcomed us with big smiles. The lunches are delicious; so reasonable and served by Rosie with care and attention to detail. The chicken in my salad and mayonnaise sandwiches was so yummy. I will definitely put it on my regular Tuesday lunch date. It was nice to be greeted so pleasantly. Thanks Antonio, Rosie and Jamie. Some of the best coffee in Newport - far superior to the usual chains which dominate the centre of town. I also had a baguette with Italian sausage, mozzarella, pepper and chilli, which really hit the spot for lunch. Altogether, well worth a visit if you're in Newport.

Bellissimo!! A true gem in the centre of Newport! As a fellow sicilian it is really heart warming to sit & experience a little corner of sicily within Newport. Staff are incredibly friendly! I always leave armed with some cupboard staples aswell from their larder! Repeat customer & will recommend to anyone who will listen!

Excellent coffee and cakes. Service even when busy is very efficient. Owners are Italian and bring that vibe to the café. Italian dried goods also on sale. I have knocked one star of off atmosphere only because although background music is Italian I have never heard Caterina Caselli played, my favourite Italian artiste.

Lovely afternoon tea with prosecco and very reasonably priced. I particularly enjoyed the different types of bread used for each sandwich. Friendly service especially from the owner. We will definitely be back!

Amazing service! Popped in with the children Saturday and they were so accommodating. My daughter is ceoliac and they even popped out to get some fresh mozzarella to ensure my daughters meal was not cross contaminated. Wonderful service ❤

I found this cafe by mistake, but glad I did, staff are very friendly and helpful, very clean, I now stop by atleast once when I'm in Newport as I live in Spain, highly recommend.

I usually have cakes and good coffee from here- unfortunately, today's experience was quite irritating. I ordered choux bun, and physically pointed it to the lady owner. Then, I paid for this, along with the rest of my group's order. Then the owner served me a doughnut instead... none of us ordered a doughnut. I pointed out that she served me the wrong item. After she put it on the table and said she couldn't change it anymore and there was no apology whatsoever. I was a regular customer and never will I come back and recommend this creme cakes coffee shop to my friends and colleagues like I used to.

Angello and Mandy have now sold the business to another Italian couple and are free to enjoy life. Thanks both for the friendly service. The new family are also very obliging and friendly and serve tasty food. My favourite is the BLT which is not actually on the menu but is superb. Toilet is down stairs so not wheelchair friendly but Friars Walk toilets nearby. A high chair is available for the little ones. Seating also outside for times of sunshine or for the few smokers who have not seen the light! The fridge is full of the most tasty pastries from Ostuni who are Angellos relatives and our favourite is the iced slice shared between us. Busy at times but well worth the wait. Sometimes it is like being in Italy when the owners are chatting to visiting Italians, we love it. 😊

Have walked past this coffee shop so many times and can not believe I have been missing out on this gem. Went on recommendation of a colleague and was not disappointed. Beautiful cakes, friendly staff and far and away the best cup of coffee in town. Will be a regular!

I love this place. One of the best places to eat in Newport. The service, food and cost is always great and the cakes are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and you are always welcomed back like old friends. The food is made fresh to order and outstanding.

Everything well presented. Great cake selection. Made to feel at home. Spotlessly clean. Good espresso, a dark, Italian style roast. The bar caters for vegetarians. Recommend a visit.

We came here for afternoon tea and had a selection of sandwiches, sausage rolls, scone and a mixture of mini cakes. Included in the price was unlimited tea and coffee. Throughout the time we were there the staff came over to check we were ok and if we needed anymore drinks. As always they were very nice and welcoming. Would definitely recommend coming here for afternoon tea in such a lovely cafe.

Best custard slices in the world! I love custard slices and these are amazing! They are homemade and even do a biscoff custard slice which is out of this world. They also do a whole slab version as well so each year for my birthday the wife gets me one of these instead of a birthday cake.

Lovely small coffee shop in the centre of Newport Town Centre. Amazing Italian coffee, excellent menu, all homemade food and the cakes do look amazing. Maybe next time!! Service is always excellent, staff are so welcoming and very friendly. Definitely worth stopping by when visiting the town centre.

This is my favourite café in Newport. Classic Italian food, delicious coffee, friendly staff. With a petite indoor and outdoor seating area. The paninis here are a must. I have been coming here for roughly 20 years, and I still love going there to this day. The desserts are delectable as well. Highly recommend.

Choux bun is very nice The directions take you to Monmouthshire building society which is incorrect. Walk in the alley by M&S foodhall and its there. It has a black canopy and chairs outside.

Started coming to this cafe on a weekly basis I always have a Pannini coffee and maybe a cake . The service they bring here is amazing so friendly the food loverly and the coffee is sublime .

Had our first meal here today after I had a craving for a panini. Tried to order a Pinot (the only Italian wine I knew) and as they didn’t have it I was recommended the Fiano. It was so tasty and the food was phenomenal. Thank you so much, we had a lovely time and will be back whenever we are in Newport!

2 of us went here for a coffee. It was the first time for both of us. The coffee was gorgeous, the custard slices were to die for, the service second to none. All the staff were very friendly and cheerful. Wish we'd tried this place before. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

My daughter and I had to go to the Passport Office in Newport and called in here for coffee after getting off the train. What a lovely atmosphere and the owner and staff were so friendly. The coffee and hot chocolate were really good and the pastries were heavenly! If we lived nearer this would definitely be our favourite place to go for coffee but as it is we will have to wait until we next visit Newport. It brings back memories of the Italian cafes which I used to visit when I was younger but unfortunately have now disappeared from the city where I live. What a pleasure to find this little gem.

Lovely traditional family run Italian cafe, coffee outstanding, fabulous cakes.The real selling point of this place are the people who run it, it’s nice to see the traditional service that comes from the 1960 s style Italian cafe, with the modern cosmopolitan edge.All that was missing were the steamed pies that were so Popular in Italian cafes back in the day ,that would of sent me right back to my childhood ! Once again excellent place.

Mum and I enjoyed a short visit here today and were impressed by the quality of food and the delicious cakes too! Despite being extremely busy all the staff had smiling faces and a lovely attitude, we shall certainly be back soon
