Fish was watery and had no flavour. Chips didn't have enough salt and vinegar and were soggy.

The fish was nice but comes with the skin on. The chips were overcooked and dry. The portion sizes are good. The staff are friendly.

Hi guys sorry to write this ☹️ but in the past your chip shop use to be really good but tonight my partner came and got me 2 sausages in batter and chips for a change as I haven’t had anything from you for quite a while but when she got home and I then opened up the wrapping to be really disappointed with the chips ☹️ because they was WELL over cooked and TASTELESSNESS but the sausages was really good ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so I won’t complain about them 😂 so come on guys sort the chips out and get the Chippy back to how it used be 👍 ps I wasn’t the only one complaining tonight because someone else was complaining on Facebook 😬 so you really need to get things sorted which hopefully I’m sure you will 👍

First time I've visited and did so on the back of a recommendation. Glad I did as the haddock and chips were the best I've had. Huge portion of haddock and chips which tasted lovely, and the price was definitely cheaper than other local establishments I used to use. This is now my new go to fish and chip shop!

Fish and chips packed separately so that the fish was still crispy when I got home. Fish cooked perfectly, curry sauce very tasty, very large portion of chips.

The food is nice, but as it's cooked almost to order it can take a while to get served. However, the owner is a little rude and grumpy, he was rude to my partner on our last visit and we are now put off from going. A real shame as we were making very regular visits until now. I understand that running a busy business is sometimes stressful but there is never an excuse to be rude and the old saying "the customer is always right" should be remembered. As a plus, the place is always really busy, a sign of good business, and plenty of parking very close to the shop. Maybe one day soon we will give it another try. Top tip if going - allow plenty of time! It can be worth the wait.

After being disappointed in the local fish n chip scene (we are spoilt where we live!). We decided to try somewhere new. The reviews convinced us to give this place a try. WOW! So glad we did. Fish (Cod) was cooked perfectly. The batter was crispy and the fish steamed beautifully, it was flaky and boneless. The chips were fantastic! We ordered a large and 2 medium, way too much but you live and you learn 😋 and they were great! Service was outstanding! Run with military precision but still friendly and welcoming. Obviously very popular with strong local support. The prices were reasonable, they have increased since their Facebook picture was taken but that’s to be expected and IMHO was still great value for money. Would I return? It’s a resounding YES from all 5 of use eating tonight, I would just order less chips! 🤣. P.S. The curry sauce was one of the best we have ever had! Definitely worth a try! Thanks to the team at Bao Diep a truly fantastic experience. We’ll see you soon!

Being a two minute walk away from me, this is a convenient establishment for me to pick up quick food from. I’ve always had their chips which I’ve never had a complaint, the curry sauce served here is delicious with its slight spice. The menu is good value for money with chips starting at £2. Every time I have visited, there is always a que (A good sign of a popular place) with the food being worth the wait. The staff are friendly. The only downside is that they ONLY accept cash with the nearest cash point being inside the Premier next door. As someone who doesn’t carry cash, I think it would make sense for you to start accepting card with us being the century we are now in.

The fish and chips was excellent. Fish cooked to perfection. Batter was tasty too. Definately recommended as this was my first visit based on a google search for a chippy in the area.

I think the best chip shop in town you should all try it you won't be disappointed with the food.

I’ve lived so close but never knew it was there. Searching on Google I found a chip shop 3 mins walk away and yes on a Friday night I tried it. It was packed which to me is a good sign. Problem was the staff seemed very new even if they weren’t if the manager had not told each one what to do at all times nothing would have happened and as I only went in for a large cod and chips I was surprised to have to wait longer for the chips than the fish. 25 mins is too long to wait no matter how busy. That said when I got home the fish was an excellent size, the batter light and crunchy without breaking a tooth and the chips covered the whole plate despite being a small portion. Until I ate the food I was not going back but now I am happy to say it was one of the best I’ve had since moving to the south of the country, and well worth hunting for... maybe at an off peak time

The best fish and chips around! All cooked fresh and hot, the fish is not sitting under hot lights for hours, and unlike some other chippys in the area my cod didn't have a single bone in it 👍 The curry sauce is also super spicy 🔥just as it should be
