Great cafe for freshly cooked food to warm you up. Excellent selection on the menu, with plenty of vegetarian options. Quaint and quiet......a really nice stop for lunch

Excellent traditional cafe. Great homemade food in proper sized portions with genuinely friendly staff. I can't imagine driving over the Woodhead Pass without stopping here.

Took 30minutes to get 2 hot chocolates and a slice of cake, avoid!

On a cold, damp, miserable day we'd hoped for a warm cafe in which to enjoy a hot drink. Not to be.

Just called ln today. A dream of a steak pie. Quality meat, pastry yummy and gravy. Proper chips and plenty of. Even tea was yorkshire. Get thi sen their. Staff a joy to talk to.

Enjoyed an excellent bacon sandwich after a local walk around Langsett Reservoir. I would recommend both the sandwich and the walk.

Cosy interior, friendly staff and good coffee. We sat inside, but on a nice day the outdoor seating would be lovely.

Difficult to park and cakes not great but ok. We only had tea and cake so not much more to say! The staff were very pleasant.

Can't go wrong with a great cup o tea with a homemade scone, comes with virtually a jar of jam & another jar of real cream - go for 2nd cup to help get through jam/cream

Six of us turned up for a breakfast. Despite a shortage of staff our full English breakfasts turned up without delay and very tasty it was too. Impressive.

What a wonderful cafe. Right up my street with some very cool art scattered all over the place that you can buy. Staff are lovely and full of smiles. A real happy place. Oh the food is good too

They were having new windows fitted when I visited but the food was good and at a sensible price.

Welcome relief after long wet walk...decent food at reasonable prices

We were first in, but had a queue behind us, it was freezing inside and, not a welcome environment from the freezing temperatures outside. Ordered four lots of their pancakes, my kids normally have them and I look on in envy, so today I caved in. We got one pot of maple Syrup, enough for 2 plates, when I asked for another portion I received a cold pot of golden syrup. 21st century, modern world problems I know, but I paid £36 for 4 plates of pancakes. I then had to ask for extra milk to go with the 4 pots of weak tea. We have attended this place regularly, in passing, after a walk and when desperate for sustinence, we may have eaten anything in those circumstances. Today we went out of our way, after watching the sunrise and what a spoiler. I wouldn't go out of my way again to attend the café.

Amazing little place. It was windy and rainy and we were drenched and the staff were so lovely and helpful! Quick food despite warning us it may be a wait. Delicious and cute interior too Will be coming again

Dogs allowed inside which is great as not many places do. Vastly over priced. Sausages were lovely. Could tell the bread had been out too long, a bit stale Burger was burnt (dogs enjoyed it though) Strangest coleslaw I've ever seen.

I had to work away from the house for a few hours which was dog friendly. We went to the Bank View Cafe and were treated to breakfast and drinks. Highly recommended. Lovely atmospheres and great service. Reliable WiFi service.

We came here on our walk yesterday, though we have been many times: we startled ourselves at the realisation we have never made a review here before. The reason this is our favourite café is because it is located at such a nice spot on the route of a very nice walk, it is dog friendly with plenty of water bowls for the dogs, the service is some of the friendliest in all of Yorkshire (which also means the rest of the country). We only come here as an incentive after walking a great distance of miles, so the rest as a halfway point is always much appreciated. The prices here are reasonable and the food is generally quite good, though not top quality, but we still enjoy it greatly. As mentioned before, the service here is very hospitable and the staff are amazing. For drinks, we especially recommend the Caramel Frappe, as for meals, everything is quite good. Certainly stop off here on your walk, it is worth it!

We always stop at Bank View on our way to Sheffield. Its friendly, the tea, coffee and cakes are great and it's not at all expensive.

We got to this cafe regularly .We enjoy the meals and the service .The prices are favourable too. We have been today and have felt a little uneasy , as staff usually wear masks . , and no one who served meals wore one .We are older folk and I suppose we feel more vulnerable than some , but I usually feel that the Bank View have their priorities in place.Todsy , because of the masks, I felt very uneasy and not sure I want to go back for a while .Until we feel safer . Sorry folks , as I really do enjoy our visits for a fry up . Please remember , we are not out of the woods yet Regards E Ward

Good portions and vegan choice, however the food itself was tasteless. My partner had the dahl and found it almost inedible as it was full of coriander seeds (seriously - hundreds). Nice café, perhaps the non-vegan options are better.

We were told the Polka Dot café and went past going up the hill. Fortunately, we saw it on the return journey and pulled into an almost full car park. The staff are friendly but very busy. They brought our meal (a very good, well priced breakfast and coffee) outside to our table where we sat with friends. I would certainly go again even though we had a 70 mile return journey. Another staff member would help.

Positives...fantastic homemade chips, fish finger sandwich was lovely too. Sat outside in the sunshine after a lovely walk round Langsett Reservoir Negatives... service was soooooo slow over 40 mins for 2 sandwiches but most annoying thing is why do eateries bring your food then leave you with no cutlery or sauces?!? I can never understand why these aren't brought first. Regardless of this we would go back as the food was spot on but be aware of the long wait if you visit

Great building but shocking coffee. My espresso was very long and bitter. Can’t comment on the cake as they had sold out. All food and drink served in disposable cups/trays. Wouldn’t recommend

Always a warm welcome and great fare. It kind of matches my shirt too. Perfect.

Enjoyed our visit there. Many years since we have been, many changes made but all in all for the better. All measures in place for covid safety and spaced tables. We enjoyed our coffee and cakes, staff very friendly and we would recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely little cafe in the country in the middle of the countryside near sheffield. We stayed here with friends for a couple of days walking around the area and we had breakfast (very hungover) the last day of our stay here !

Very well set up cafe. A great pancake stack, with bacon & maple syrup.

Stopped here on a hot day and had some delicious strawberry ice cream and an iced lemon tea. Perfect 👌. Quite a few benches outside in the quiet wild flower garden. Good service.

Good cafe called this morning for a coffee following a walk round Langsett, sat outside in the garden area. The coffee was really nice and good price. Popular cafe and great location.

Visited today after walking the reservoir, very welcoming service, young man was ever so helpful. Served us with a smile. 2 cappuccinos and 2 cakes later, we were ready for the next part of our walk. When we are in the area again, will definitely be coming back!

Perfect breakfast sandwich and cappuccino, fully COVID compliant.

Dispite the Covid problems, it is efficient and well run. Food was good. Pricing is good and there are benches outside 2 meters apart to eat or wait for you food.

There are vegan options available which is great. I had vegan breakfast and a latte with oat milk when I stopped there during my cycling trip on a cold, wet winter day.
