Very nice food, friendly service but normal main dish £17/18 without rice, small dish of rice is about £5, same for 1 Naan bread, same for a small soda. Kids dishes are small for £9, ended up being £100 for 2 adults and 2 kids without any beers etc.

Got a take away quite expensive but food was really good would definitely recommend

Have used many times and is usually quite good but seems to have come off the boil recently. Tonight I had the worst onion bhajis I've ever tasted or even seen for that matter ...and the chicken wasn't the best either.

We are occasional customers at this restaurant (twice or three times a year) and I feel that I need to make a comment for your consideration - it's NOT a complaint - I would rather have made this comment directly to you but you don't list an email in your contact details. The food as always was EXCELLENT! BUT there was no beer or lager available - the waitress said that the liquor licence had not been renewed because it was very expensive to do so. She did offer that I could go to Asda and buy some bottles of lager - which is what I did BUT unchilled lager is not a great experience (glasses provided by the restaurant and no "corkage charge" added to the bill) There is NO mention on the restaurant website that you are unable to supply beer or lager and no invitation to "bring your own". Please, please think again and get a liquor licence - I really want this restaurant to stay open as a viable business but an Indian Restaurant that is unable to serve lager is a very dodgy economic prospect. Just an added thought - I don't know the cost of obtaining a liquor licence but I think it is about £600 - last night (a Thursday night not the busiest night of the week) - at least 6 bottles of Cobra lager - probably more - were brought in from Asda. You could have made at least £15 mark-up on that - multiply that by say 200 nights per year - that's £3000 Sorry - but no liquor licence for an Indian Restaurant is simply ECONOMIC MADNESS! Ordered a chicken curry tonight it was like dirty dishwater with pieces of chicken in it worst I have had would not have expected this from Bangla won't be ordering again

Bangla is one of my favourite restaurants, and my favourite Indian restaurant in Northern Ireland definitely. The food and service are both consistently amazing every time I visit. There is always a great atmosphere, it is well priced, very clean, hygienic and a well set up restaurant. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Indian food!

Should've known from the moment they answered the phone that this wasn't a great idea. Not blaming the girl who answered but overall impression was totally unprofessional. Constant loud laughing and chatter causing girl to laugh made it seem like they were all taking the mick. I actually had to ask if she was even talking to me. Ordered a couple of meals at 10£ each, asked for some kebab meat for my 2 German shepherds, 'was told they wouldn't just do meat! Everywhere else is happy to help in any way in they can but disgusted there was no attempt made to provide customer satisfaction from owners/chef. Got it delivered 'only to find they had charged us 10£ for a kebab (with no sauce or dressing) as a replacement for simply a few slices/portion of kebab meat.

Very nice restaurant and great service. Food was good. Price was £120 for four main meals, naan bread (3) and 2 cokes. We brought our own drink. £120 seems extortionate.

Recommend to us by family who live locally, that’s always a good start. Nice restaurant, very efficient and friendly service. Good menu, nice variety of choices available and not too extensive. Both our dishes were fantastic, as they were described on the menu, freshly prepared and full of flavour. Sensible portion size. Thoroughly enjoyable experience, well worth a visit 10/10

Think this is quite an average curry house. The service wasn't friendly. We ordered the set menu and didn't get everything we ordered (vegetable side dish). Food was tasty but small portions for the amount you pay. In my opinion there are a lot better curry houses (Yaks, Green Chilli) in Bangor than this.

Very nice food with good service.

Visited on a Thursday night with the fam. Got the set meal special 1 starter and 1 main under £20. The set meal was a good portion plus rice/naan/salad included with main. The chicken pakora was delicious, crispy and well seasoned. Overall great service however a couple main dishes were extremely sweet. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Korma taste of honey or added sugar. The Sag Chicken, Monk Fish, Salmon Bhuna, pilau rice, and garlic naan were my family favorites. Staff was helpful explaining dishes and acommodated for dairy allergies and pescatarian. Also the poppadom and chuntey starter was sooooo good! First time trying both and didn't dissapoint.

Unless you're eating in, don't bother ordering from here. Was my mothers birthday and I thought I'd get her an Indian, a man answered the phone and took our order. So i walked down through the storm and brought it home, it was the wrong order. First they forgot something and second they gave us wrong food, mine was fine but gave my mother the wrong dish. So we called up and complained, this time a lady answered and they apologized and said they'll get what's missing and the correct order to us asap (they said there would be extra money to pay). Over 40 minutes later it still hasn't arrived, so we called up and complained, man answered the phone (the man who took the original order) and was denying blame. At that moment as we were on the phone saying we wanted to just cancel it because it was taking too long (took over 40 mins) the delivery showed up, but we felt we should not be paying due to the wait to correct the order, the fact it was wrong in the first place. Then the man on the phone hungup as we were complaining. Just opened the order, they forgot a part of the tandoori chicken tikka shazlek. Didn't bother calling to complain as clearly the man on the phone didn't care about the previous complaint.

Just love Bangla. Food is always superb. It's not the cheapest but we love it as a family

Terrific food, and good service, well worth a visit if you are in Bangor and love a curry. It is a short walk up the main street from the seafront. (10 minutes)

Excellent food pleasant environment friendly staff

Stopped in for lunch today. My wife and I both liked our food. We had chicken tikka mossalla with pilau rice, Lunch chicken korma with pilau rice, veg samosas and chicken pakora.

Called in early this evening (beginning of week) without booking a table. We were impressed how fresh and clean the empty restaurant looked - it has had a change of decor since the last time we visited. The tables were set with sparkling glassware and cutlery - it really looked as if care had been taken to prepare for the evening service. The staff in the Bangla have always been kind and friendly, some of them we have known for many years, and this evening we met a new server. We have visited the Bangla since the early days when it was the Ganges and our children were in high chairs, the eldest will be 30 soon - it's a tremendous achievement that this business is still going and still setting high standards. This evening my partner was encouraged to try a new dish from the one he orders habitually and a couple of other tweaks were suggested to our order - it was nice to have someone take the interest to make new recommendations. The food was delicious, full of flavour and fresh herbs. We really enjoyed everything about this experience, including the authentic music - just what we needed after a busy day. Many thanks to the chef, kitchen staff and the front of house team.

Was very disappointed as have been here before and enjoyed. Dishes very bland and undercooked. Onions still crunchy and chickpeas too. Felt like we were being rushed through as we went at 6 and they were obviously waiting for main evening service.

Food was bland. No difference in taste between 2 difference mains. Had to ask again to vegetable side but this just half boiled potatoes with dusting of powder. This also had no flavour. Would not return and unable to understand why got best Indian in UK. As due to experience would not believe it. Plenty of better Indian restaurants in and around UK where had better food and service.

We have never had a bad meal here. We have introduced so many friends to this place and it's their place of choice when they come to Bangor. Food is exceptional, the staff are wonderful and the place is so nice with a fab atmosphere. And it's a BYO..excellent!

Been here a few times and ill be honest and say i wasnt a fan. However the last 2 times I've been i have come away very happy. Good, good service and nice and quick i hate nothing more than waiting to get the food.

Got a carry out which was well cooked and very tasty. The staff were friendly. If I had a little complaint it would be the food was pretty expensive for Bangor. However, I will try a sit in very soon, and until then I would recommend.

Delivery was over hr and half arrived cold when complained was told to heat it up then was offered free rice chips which where missing to begin with and nan to be sent up which then took another hr very disappointing

Just call into the Bangla to collect a take-away order. Witnessed a waiter sneeze into his hands, wipe his hands on his trousers then proceed to carry plates of food to customers tables! When I got my food home I realised that some of my order was missing, grrr.

Really delicious authentic food. The flavours were just spot on. Prices are quite high but to be fair I was happy to pay as it was good food. Service I would say average but it’s obvious they try hard run off their feet

Ordered a selection if dishes about a month ago, the quality absolutely blew me away, everything tasted amazing, I thought I'd found my regular spot. Two weeks later, I ordered some of the same dishes, and they tasted like nothing but grease, it was like it came from a totally different restaurant, none of it was cooked properly, really disappointing.

POSSIBLE FOOD ALLERGY I called into the Bangla with a friend on Tuesday 3 May for an evening out. I ordered a lamb tikka and a portion of Chana baghee. My friend had a curry dish. We enjoyed the meal and had a pleasant evening, but I became ill shortly afterwards. I think the Chana bhagee made me ill that night. It was extremely spicy. I don't think I will be able to go back to this restaurant.

Food was average, staff not very pleasant. We were accused of changing our booking, which we hadn’t. Later it became clear that they had confused us with another booking but no apology was offered. I had the tandoori king prawns. They were tasty but at £20 for 3 prawns, I would avoid. Their prices are more New York than Bangor.

Lunch menu had to be asked for. Food small portions a d quite eatable but bland. Room was cold and empty.

Had a sit in meal, the food was really good , the place nice and clean tidy, they kept the covid rules , I would get from Bangla again. We came 2 people in for lunch and we both ordered the same from the menu. My friend who has visited India many times recommended the onion bhajee and it was delicious and so was the chicken korma with rice. This was a starter and the main for the very reasonable price of £9.95. They also do take aways and deliver in the area of Bangor at a price of £2.

Four of us went to the Bangla at lunchtime. We ordered off the main menu (although, they do have a lunchtime special menu). Absolutely the best Indian food I have ever tasted! We ordered a few starters and mains to share. Each dish was a mouth-watering delight. The King Prawn Puri was stripped right back (no river of sauce to hide all the delicious flavours), the pancake was feather light and divine. All the mains were an individual taste sensation. The peswari nan was to die for, so fresh and light (no heavy doughy nan at the Bangla). The waiter was charming, polite and very helpful. I really believe that the food we were served was first class. So, go on visit the Bangla and be sure to order off the main menu. Can't wait for the next outing to the Bangla!

Had hoped to have a nice relaxing meal but it was nothing like that. We might as well have been sitting in the middle of a takeaway place. We were shown to a table at the back of the restaurant and infront of us was two tables full of bags and bags of takeaway food there was people in and out for orders which no one could find,delivery guys looking for orders staff looking for orders customers coming in with no mask on looking through the bags, I can honestly say I have never seen anything like it. Now to Service and food. Our waiter was a young lad the food was thrown down on the table no chat no nothing. Food was ok nothing special our starter of special tandoori mix for two was very poor cold and a jumble of food cut into small pieces. Would return definitely not would I recommend to anyone definitely not.

We really love the Bangla. As per usual the food was top notch. But this time the staff didn't have the usual buzz. The boss made a issue out of nothing about ordering extra nan.
