Wide variety of food and drink. Very reasonably priced. Excellent quality. Great atmosphere and customer service. Wait staff was very attentive, even though they were crowded. Definitely go back.

Afraid to say this was the worst curry I've ever had. It wasn't curry. It was chicken in a tasteless sauce. Likewise with the paneer. My husband added curry powder and chilli from our cupboard in an attempt to make it taste of anything...

The worst curry we have ever had,my wife and I had different meals but both tasted the same awful,we could not eat them.never again

I'm sorry to write this as I have had decent takeaways from here I think I have possibly had the worst meal ever. I had the special biryani which was dry burned tasteless and very salty. Won't be going back in afraid

We came here for our Christmas Day lunch !! It was AMAZING! I really can’t rave enough about it. The staff were awesome , the food was epic. You actually gave us the perfect Christmas Day ! We all said we will be back ! Xxx

Only visited once for a take away. Food was very good. The inside of (ordering area) was well decorated and a nice place to wait. Overall enjoyed the take away and will definitely like to go back to eat in.

During the COVID-19 lockdown period, we ordered a take away. Service from Mo was polite and true to form. The food and quality, again was great as stated on the tin. Keep up the good work & stay safe.

Ordered a takeaway from here recently, the food was delivered in 1hr45mins, they did say the wait could be 1hr30 but still thought this seemed a bit excessive. Of course when the food arrived we were all too hungry to care about the temperature! My peshwari naan was delicious! However the prawn pathia was a bit bland as well as the prawn puri.... I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt considering recent circumstances with the pandemic but I hope this isn’t a regular issue in future!

We visited on a quiet Sunday evening. Excellent food and service. A great alternative to pub grub. Would definitely recommend.

We have used this restaraunt for a number of years and found the food and service to be excellent. What has prompted me to write this review is that tonight,my wife and I went in to have a drink and collect a takeaway. As usual the food was great,but what wasn't usual is that when we got home,I discovered that I'd lost my wallet. Panic stations. I rang the restaraunt and straight away they told me that they'd found it. I went straight back,all my cards and money were there. They wouldn't accept a reward. Needless to say,they'll be getting a big tip next time. Thankyou Bangla Spice. Rod.

Ordered 2 specials and poppadoms for home delivery arrived but way overpriced rang back whilst delivery driver was there and rather rude response was price has gone up and check the website so i did and 2 websites come up 2 with old menus on. Specials £6.95 Rang again tonight and explained to be told website is different to those on the web have to put co.uk Haven't an issue with the food just feel they need to take the other 2 sites down as very misleading and confusing. Specials have gone up to £8.95 word of advise Check the price on the phone before completing order

We visited the Bangladesh spice, and was very disappointing in the delay in getting the food, 90 minutes, and the way the delay was handled by the staff/manager was the disappointing part, it was a quiet Monday night, and to wait 90 minutes without an apology is not the very good.

I don't eat out all the time, and it's been a while since I have eaten at Bangla. As always, the welcome was friendly and warm. The food was beautiful, and plenty of it! We had two full meals and four pints of San Miguel for around £50 excellent value too! I can totally recommend eating here, and will do again!!

Thank you Bangla Spice for another fabulous evening, we are a group of 5 ladies that have known each other forever and it was a get together for my best friends birthday meal(and she travelled up from Cambridge) and the food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming and we all had such a good night I don't think it will be too long before we are back

Bangla Spice is our favourite curry restaurant and we had another great meal tonight as a take away which was delivered quickly. We both had Chicken Katta Mitta, which has only recently been added to the menu, try it, you can thank me later!

Food as always is so tasty. From poppadoms, starters and mains they are full of flavour and definitely one of our favourites.

First of all I paid £3 for x2 200ml cokes but got told on the phone they are gonna be cans & because it was so small it got finished before my meal, second of all the driver had the cheek to tell me to check my change as he walked off laughing because he over charged me, third of all tails were left on my prawns & fourth of all man gave me bones in my chicken when it said it was bonless which gave me anxiety because I have a phobia of bones so now I won’t be coming back unless I’m starving.

We have visited Bangla Spice again tonight and as always left having had a brilliant night. The food is delicious and is only topped by the service. Every time we go the staff are friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much and the children especially are chatted to and made to feel special. We love it and highly recommend it to anyone!

Bangla Spice is our favourite curry restaurant and we had another great meal tonight as a take away (we’d had a bit too much sun and rose’ to drive to the restaurant) which was delivered quickly.

Ordered a delivery for the 1st time. Chicken tikka masala well I’ve never seen anything like it, it was so runny it was like spicey tomato soup, the chicken was not chicken tikka it was small bits of rubber with no flavour awful. Also had chicken and lamb tawa, the sauce was really nice full of chunky veg and the gravy was flavoursome but the meat was awful bits of rubber. Really really disappointing, i emailed them a video of the food and no response. Need a new chef

11 of us enjoyed a really good meal here on Saturday night. We booked it quite last minute and the staff were really accommodating seeing as we were quite a large party. We all had poppadoms & pickles and then mains. All the food was fresh, hot and tasty. The waiter we had was really friendly and helpful when I asked him what he recommended. (apologies I didn't get his name) We would all return without hesitation. Great meal :)

We eat here regularly and the food and service is always excellent. What is particularly special is the amazing staff are always happy to try and adapt spec levels to your own particular requirements . Would thoroughly reccomend and although we live locally, so this is a no brainier for us, it is somewhere we would travel for .

Love this place as the staff make you feel welcome and even offer free Christmas lunch to those who are on their own. The food is good - fairly standard Indian cuisine - and they go out of their way to be helpful to people with allergies such as my coeliac daughters who are very happy to eat here.

My girlfriends family and I enjoyed a tasty curry at Bangla Spice. The naan bread was super fresh and a delight. The chicken tandoori was extremely tender and tasty, the prawn Bhuna was a tad bland & mild, but tasty all the same. My tarka dhal was nice but again nothing special. I would happily recommend this curry house to friends and family, just don’t expect anything fantastically amazing.

I always order from Bangla Spice as the food is always very good and very tasty.

We go here regularly either to eat in the restaurant or to collect takeaway meals as it is in village and so we can walk there. We have always had very good service and now the staff greet us like old friends. The food is delicious and they are always careful to check that my daughter's meal is gluten- free. There is a wide choice of options and we usually enjoy either a Cobra or Kingfisher with our meals. We have never had any negative experiences and I would recommend them for a good value evening out.

We visited last tuesday and were greeted and shown to our table, he owner and his staff couldnt do enough for us and indeed entertained us for most of our visit. The food was absolutely first class as was the bangla beer!!! We will be back!!!!

I am not in the area that often but will be coming back more frequently to return to the Bangla Spice to have another meal as the food was delicious and the service was amazing. The choice in the spice tray was impressive with 7 choices and all freshly prepared. My meal of lamb green masala was the best flavoured curry I have ever tasted. We both would highly recommend you visit here soon.

This was the first time we had a sit in meal and as it was my 65th birthday it was a nice surprise to go there for a meal.The staff were really welcoming and they now have Kingfisher which I like.Mumm asked if I would trust him to invent a meal for me on the information I gave him about what I like so I let him and it was spot on absolutely delicious.I got given a large malt whisky and the three of us rounded off with a Baileys each on the house.Yet again the food and service was top notch.This restaurant is my first choice .

Second visit.Very helpful and friendly staff both times.Food tasty but unfortunately never been to Bangladesh so can't comment on it's authenticity. Different to the curries we have eaten in Rajasthan, India.

The flavours of each curry we had were sublime. Each dish packed a punch but without any heaviness all while being light, fresh and tasty. We can't praise this place enough, what a find.Definitely recommend and we shall return!

Have had takeaway meal from Bangla Spice regularly, always good, friendly welcome, & good value. They do a buffet meal on Sunday with 4 starters, 4 main courses & trimmings which I must try as is under £9.

Went and had a drink and picked up a takeaway on recommendation.The staff were very friendly and helpful and I asked them to make mine Madras hot which they did.We had to have a takeaway on this occasion because City was on the t.v..I am no stranger to curries and have visited many indian restaurants in Leicester and I have to say it is one of the best if not the best I have tried.The food was perfect cooked how I like it and Madras hot like I asked for absolutely spot on.Hang on to the Chef he is a star see you all soon.

There's a claim! This place never fails to impress! From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave you are treated like gold! N the middle bit - the food is just as impressive. Just love this place and would recommend to anyone n everyone! The poppadums and chutneys are the best we have ever had n so are the staff n service. Nearly two hours after placing an order for delivery I phone to see where our food was, only to be told it wouldn't be leaving the restaurant for a further 15 minutes. They were unapologetic nor eager to give us a refund, I won't be using again.

Our first time here, we will definitely be going back. An excellent tasty meal, very pleasant and friendly staff. Modern surroundings and all round pleasant evening.

Had a lovely meal at Bangla Spice, hadn't been for a while so was nice to reignite the taste buds that the food enlightens! The service was brilliant, always on hand to adhere to any request that a customer may have. The staff were friendly, approachable and relaxed. Yet another great meal at the Bangla Spice, we eat here often because of the great food and tonight was no exception. It has to be one of the best restaurants in the country. The staff are amazing, constantly asking you if your alright, making sure you have enough to drink, if your food is alright the food is amazing, but the staff make the night extra special. We have taken friends and family there and they all agree this has to be one of the best Indians ever. The service is great, they cater for vegetarians, we have yet to have a bad meal there, if we can't make it to the restaurant we order a take away from them. This restaurant 1500 points instead of the 150 it has. go to the Bangla Spice you won't regret it.

Four of us all thoroughly enjoyed our meal starting with Poppadoms with no less than 8 different accompaniments. The starters & mains were excellent too. We couldn't fault the whole experience, the staff being very attentive with nothing too much trouble. This restaurant was superb value for money and we think it deserves a higher rating than the current 150 out of 840+. Can't wait till the next time.

We had a family get together at this restaurant last night and once again, were delighted with our meals. Staff were very attentive, making sure we were happy with our food choices. Chocolates and a complimentary Baileys at the end of our meal completed a lovely evening for all.

We go to Bangla spice nearly every week. Great friendly service from all of the staff who are also really good with the children, great fresh tasting food, I've had nearly every dish on the menu and loved them all.

Not been here before but very impressed Popadoms starters and a main course withe rice and nan bread drinks as well for £52 for a couple not bad considering the excellent quality and service. We will definitely be returning

I went with my school pal Graham.WE had great time ,food was very good and service excellent and price was good.I booked table for 12 people for mt sons birthday and even then service was excellent ,with great food.i have booked table for 14 people ,all my young farmers .looking forward to it.

I am not I one to write reviews; however my husband once owned this place when it was a bar and we have always supported the restaurant since it was renovated by the recent managements predecessor.We have just finished our take away meal before settling down for the night in front of the box and I have got to say where some Indian take always only truly focus on eat in customers, here is not the case. Some take always you get a lot of sauce and not much meat but here.... Jeez man I am stuffed!!! Meat Meat Meat.... We have also eaten in and service and quality is amazing whatever the day, time or eat in or take away. Top Marks boys keep it up...oh and a big THANK YOU to your chefs... Xx

My family and friends visit this Indian regularly and always receive superb food and service both from a sit down meal and takeaway. The staff are particularly helpful and ensure meals are adjusted to meet the tastes of our children too.

What is there to say about the place, the food and the service apart from stunning!!I`ve eaten in posh and not so posh Indian restaurants around the country and in particularly the infamous ones around Sparkbrook in Birmingham and Bangla Spice in Cosby is up there with all of the best.With Abu and Mamz at the front of the house to greet you, you couldn`t wish to meet two more incredibly friendly individuals to take care of your every need with their in-depth knowledge of all the dishes on offer. And with the food that is as consistent as you would want it to be time after time, then look no further as this has to be one of the best gems in Leicestershire and stands head and shoulders above others. I agree entirely with the other reviewer in that a loyalty card makes it seem even more fantastic to get such wonderful food with 20% off. But its never about the cost here, the quality of the dishes is just superb. And not forgetting the third member of the team there, Ali, who continually ensures that the food is to die for. I used to use this Indian a lot but it went drastically downhill so when I saw it was under new management I leaped at the chance to give it a go, looking at the previous reviews I thought I was in safe hands, how wrong could I have been. The poppadum's were greasy, I don't usually have them, I realise why and the starters were pre bought and out of the freezer. The mains were tandoori chicken, only reason it got 2 stars and one chicken dansak and one chicken jalfrezi, fairly standard curry dishes one would have thought. The dansak was watery, bland, no spice, no kick and the chicken was sparse as well. The jalfrezi was equally disappointing, I thought it was a vegetarian dish at first, it was full and I mean full of peppers and onions, a couple of chillies and some small pieces of chicken.I did complain, they offered me free sweets, errr thanks but no thanks.It's normal Indian prices but not normal quality or taste.Shame, won't be back, until it's under new management.

Visited here for the second time under the new management, branding and name of "bangla spice". Upon both visits I felt that the restaurant has taken a step backwards. The service was "ok" at best, the food had taken a turn to be another plain/bland Indian. Prices seem to be fairly good and they over a very well thought out "specials menu".

Knowing the restaurant had changed hands a few months earlier we were not sure excellently what to expect, as all 14 of us turned up we were warmly greeted by a lady called Sarah who showed some of us to the table to set up birthday balloons and table decorations while the rest of us were served drinks the restraint was busy but the staff were excellent we were all seated and orders taken the food was superb and considering how busy it was the staff were excellent with special Thanks to Sarah who was very helpful throughout the evening we will definitely be returning soon

Excellent meal, great service. Very clean, lovely warm restaurant with fantastic food and service. Have been here a few times in the past couple of months and all meals have been good. Love the food warmers as we like to share our meal and take our time, the food warmers keep food nice and hot.

With Indian food being my favourite and having just moved to the area from nearer the city where I had quick access to the best indian restaurants, I was slightly concerned I'd have to travel to get the best.I was wrong, collected a takeaway today, the place is spotless and the staff very welcoming. We had four main meals amongst other things and they were excellent. Concerns over and will return.

The first thing to say is that the restaurant is not in Leicester but Cosby. Surely TripAdvisor can get this right?Went with a friend who is now living 200 yards away - he has really fallen on his feet as this was an excellent meal at a really attractive venue. Well spiced, good size quantities and food of very high quality with some very unusual dishes on the menu.I will certainly return as I enjoyed it so much. It isn't cheap but the quality is such that I think it is worth it.

Now at the weekend they do a special meal. An authentic Bangladeshi meal like they would eat at home. Some times referred to as ' the staff curry". Taste the real food. But became - often contains bones as they cook on the bone - also can be too spicy for some. I don't eat anything else now. Thanks guys .

Nice restaurant, very good, friendly and attentive service, great food. My partner said that his meal, chicken tikka madras in a keema sauce was the best he had ever had. Mumz our waiter was great and obviously enjoyed his job, so top marks all round.

This was the second time we had visited this restaurant. Slightly out of the way but well worth the trip. This is now on my top 5 Indian restaurant s. Set in a pub the food is great, the staff were great. 4 of our party ate meat, and the other 2 vegetarians. We all are food fanatics, could not fault anything so we all said 5 star.Just give this place a try.

Have just had our family Christmas get-together at the Bangla Spice and I was so impressed with every single aspect of the evening - apart from great company - the food was possibly the best Indian I have ever had - great poppadums with the best pickle tray ever, amazing main courses - all different and all thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, lovely dessert and faultless, friendly service - nothing was too much trouble - cant thank you enough - Brilliant place!!! :-) We'll definitely be back and its the other side of town to where we live!! Well I thought I would give it a go after hearing mixed reviews of the restaurant since it was taken over. On arrival we ordered our drinks which arrived at our table, unfortunately all the beer gasps to be sent back as it was 'off' and my white wine looked like dish water so that went back too. The barman tried to tell me it was 'blush' but there was nothing blush about it. We had to have all our drinks changed, the beer went back again so the gents changed to another drink which was fine. My main complaint was the attitude of the waiter which stank, he was rude and completely incompetent. In the end I asked for the manager and explained, he seemed to already know about the issue and he changed our waiter which was much better. If someone cannot communicate and is rude there not suitable to be a waiter! Our food was ok nothing special and we felt a lot more expensive than the original restaurant.Really shame as its local, but will go elsewhere.

eaten in four times and four takeaways since its changed management. everytime we have been very pleased. it has been seriously hard to find a consistent curry house in south leics. but the chef here is really superb and nothing is too much trouble, even if off menu. bangla spice is a new restaurant with new menu, management and staff it is a world away from the truly awful bangla lodge we had in the village for the last 6-7 years. in my view a completely new name might have been sensible to rid any confusion with customers who had been disappointed with an indian restaurant in Cosby called bangla something, anyway 5 stars all round for quality ingredient's and freshly cooked authentic indian food, long may it continue.

We had an evening with friends at the Bangla spice and I can honestly say it was faultless, the food was delicious and the service was spot on, the staff were friendly and attentive, the wine and drinks list was extensive and the whole evening was great value for the money, I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation and we will definitely be returning.

went for a meal to benefit from the offer of a 30% discount, restaurant is nicely laid out, we were seated upstairs and were soon served drinks and poppadum's, ordered our food. The starters took quite some time to arrive, we did have to ask where they had got too, to be fair as soon as we asked they did appear, presentation was lovely although the portions were a little tight.Main course arrived and if I had to offer any tip it would be order something with some spice, I ordered a lamb, dish with Keeme rice and Nan and although nice it was very very bland.portions were OK, but could be slightly larger.My first impressions would be there are better alternatives around

Having lived in Cosby for 19 years we were really excited when Bangla Lodge opened, but really disappointed on the 3 occasions we ate in the restaurant.We had a letter posted through the letterbox saying that the restaurant had re-opened under new management and now called Bangla Spice, we don't usually eat takeaways but thought we would give it a go, we were really impressed.So we thought we would give the restaurant another go, we had a lovely meal there on Sat 15 August with family and were again really impressed, on arrival we were greeted by the friendly staff and offered the choice of either having a drink first or going to the table, we went straight to the table on this occasion.The food was really well presented, we all had different dishes and found all the dishes very tasty, we will certainly be returning as it's great to be able to walk into the village rather than having to drive for a good curry.

We recently went to the Bangla Spice, under the new management. The service was excellent and the food was delicious, with great size portions. There were 5 of us dining and the owner gave us 20% off the food bill which was a nice touch and even better we were invited to the launch night of the new management. We went back this evening and enjoyed a fantastic freer meal. Would 100% recommend Bangla Spice!

I have visited the Bangla lodge on a number of occasions recently. On some occasions this has been on a tastecard booking and even though this is at a discount I would say there is no difference in the service or the food. I really love the green Goan chicken which is tasty with just the right amount of meat for me although if I was a man there may not be sufficient.The staff are really friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is in a lovely village that has another pub with a Chinese restaurant attached that is just across the road so you can go there for a couple of drinks before going for a curry. What's not to like.....

Very poor meal, with a very small portion for main course. We were there Saturday evening only a few people dining. Staff were friendly enough but did nothing when I said my meal was poor.

Recently at at the Bangla Lodge and overall the food was really good and tasty. However we had to order another rice - £2.50 - because so little was provided with the meal. Even when this cam, promptly - it was still only a couple of dessert spoons full!Such a pity to be let down by such a low cost item.

We have purchased a discount (VIP) card for the last few years as we visit so often (almost weekly). The restaurant is nice and modern and has a big outdoor seating area for smokers or for your after meal coffee on a summers evening. The staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome. They also provide a great delivery service. The food is quite different in style from you standard 'curry house' fare and although you can get the old favourites like Dansak or Madras, being more adventurous is worth it and you will not be disappointed.
