We moved to Barlestone just a week ago and decided to give Daawat a go. The food was absolutely delicious and for the price we decided that it was probably one of the best Indian restaurants that we have ordered from. My tandoori mixed grill was to die for. PLEASE give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

Me and my other half often visit this place once every other month for a treat. We've never had a bad meal. Food is great and reasonably priced. Staff are incredibly friendly, service is fast. Would highly recommend this Indian, also great to know they do takeaway's and local delivery's!

Probably the best Indian food I have ever eaten, every single part of every single dish was perfect. The pakoras were just little golden clouds of heaven and would have been worth the visit on their own. My daughter had a lamb sizzler which was delicious with perfectly cooked pieces of tender lamb, I had Lajawab which although hot and spicy had a wonderful depth of flavour. The restaurant does not serve alcohol which was fine by us as we don't drink. In future I will stick to the usual soft drinks as the mocktails we had were very pretty, but both tasted of lollipops and not much else.

Ate at the Barlestone restaurant as a couple, the food was excellent and great value. Main dishes were very tasty and the chicken was good. Staff very friendly and courteous. Very happy with the quality, service and price. It's BYO which also helps to keep the price down. Anyone picking fault with this place clearly has nothing better to do! Would recommend.

Ordered a vegetable korma and found chicken in it, I’m allergic to meat , we informed Daawat and all he said was I will have a word in the kitchen , which isn’t the issue, I’m looking forward to an evening of being really unwell , thanks .

They take orders and don’t fulfill them and then take phone off the hook so u can’t contact them if u can’t fulfill orders don’t take them simples and very hungry wish I’d gone to local Chinese

If you like Indian food, you’ll not go wrong going here. It’s not licensed, but you can take your own or nip to the co-op next door for no extra corkage. We shared a meat platter starter, (the tandoori chicken and lamb kofta were the stars, the lamb sizzler was perfect and brought to the table sizzling away. (I love theatrics). We also shared the chicken tikka masala and had the pretty pilau rice. The garlic naan is a must have, so big that it’s perfect for sharing. The table service was just right and the staff very friendly and helpful. We scoffed the lot and had no room for sweets but the mocktails went down well instead. Just knocked one star off as lacked a little atmosphere, I think there was music playing in the background but you could barely hear it and the table next to us was never cleared the whole time we were there. We will be back though… hopefully when the tables are all shipshape and the music turned up a little.

So nice to be back in the restaurant, whilst our takeaways through lockdown have been fab it’s just nice to walk down grab a bottle of wine from the coop and look forward to great food and great service and no washing up! Some new menu options too which tasted delicious.. well done team Daawat you are simply the best.

The order was late cold and incorrect when it arrived, the manager who spoke on the phone was a complete idiot and who needs to learn some manners and not be so rude or impolite, would I visit again not on anybodies life who ever reads this review,

Visited here with with friends just before lockdown. A great curry house with a lot of their own specials you won’t find commonly in other curry houses. Food was delicious and can’t wait to go back.

Food was brilliant as always, the staff were very friendly and accommodating about splitting the bill and seating arrangements etc. Service was spot on as was the whole COVID 19 arrangement. Very happy with the whole thing in general of of the best Indian restaurants around for sure (I’ve been to about 150)

Definitely COVID safe, tables very spread out, menu on app (great idea). Food was delicious, tasty and not over spiced like some Indian restaurants. Portions huge and a bonus that you take your own alcohol. Highly recommend.

the owner needs to read this as the food was terrible. Delivery driver was very polite, best part as the food was aweful. It was stone cold, keema naan was empty and burnt, it was black as ebony! and our curry's was floating on an island of oil. Our buna and jalfrezi was more like a korma. Absolutely disgusting . I only went there as my local one who can cook a good curry was shut. Stay away if if you want to avoid disappointment

For the purposes of this review, I'm giving some leeway on the delivery (what with restrictions on Covid etc etc), which was 45 minutes late. Driver apologetic of the delay, food arrived hot. However, really disappointed with it. Naan bread burnt, my lamb course had 6 small pieces of lamb, and was incredibly oily. The rice was ok (you have to really try to stuff up rice though!) and my other half said their chicken dish was ok. Overall for nearly 30 quid we didnt feel value for money at all and wouldnt return. We feel other establishments we have tried offer better flavour and better value for money.

Nice tasting food, 2 weekends in a row been missing items when collecting takeaway, - very disappointing. Huge shame

Really nice food to eat in or take out. Super friendly staff too. You take your own alcohol which is different but means you always get exactly what you want to drink!

Nice restaurant, very good authentic food, generous portions, pleasant staff with the bonus of taking your own drinks makes it a very affordable night out, only thing they could have done better was to get some decent heating, it was very cold and my wife kept her coat on all evening, the little fan heater was a waste of time but overall a good night out.

Went Sunday night with my partner and grandaughter staff really pleasnt good beyond all my expectations would highly recommend this gem of a place to anyone

I will remember 2019 for many reasons, amazing rides on my motorcycles, a visit to beautiful Brugges, the record breaking rain in November (not so great) AND the outstanding food and service at Daawat, Hussan and the guys always have a smile for you and always try to accommodate every whim and need, mostly I have ordered a take away while still out on an adventure or working late, but it's always ready, fresh and stunning, the perfect end to the day! They always ask "when are you going to eat in the restaurant?" Every time I collect my take away, so during December I have made a point of eating "in" and haven't been disappointed, the "Daawat" chicken, on the signiture dish page of the menu is outstanding, as is my favourite the Lamb Korma, however, the best was yet to come, I was handed a flyer promoting their Christmas Day lunch, I'm always up for "different" so I asked the mother (84 & still kicking) if she fancied joining me- she did, and it was absolutely outstanding!! We even had doggie bags to take home- Boxing Day lunch, get in!! So, on that bombshell, give them a go, you won't be disappointed, get your'e order in sharpish on Saturday night though, they get busy- for good reason. Here's to 2020 & more fantastic Daawat food!!!

Been using Daawat for two years, both takeaway and in house. Last night was a complete waste of time, service was none existent, staff did not not what was going on.25 minutes to get the menu. Even longer for food. Staff kept blaming the deliveries: not my concern as I was eating in house. Customers waiting for takeaway were offered free drinks, no such joy for diners. Hopefully last night was a blip, but won’t be using again for a long while. Fortunately the food was excellent.

My partner and I visited here and were blown away by the quality and large volume of food! The staff were really friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I can't wait to visit here again!

We visited here again after out 1st visit which was fantastic meal staff very attentive so we decided to drive 35 miles from home to come back again and the meal again was very good staff very helpful and attentive would highly recommend ba k again soon

We went as a family at the last minute on arriving it was not what we expected, it’s located in the village of Barlstone, Nuneaton, it’s not a place you’d expect it to be, we visited on a Tuesday night and was quite but having children with us we found it pleasant to dine, we understand it gets very busy at the weekends and parking is limited, but there is plenty of on street parking we could have walked, but we had our grand children, staff where welcoming and very attentive to our needs, with us having a six year old and nine year old, food was amazing and plentiful starters our not recommended not in a bad way, pompadoms and dips are always favourable the best part of an Indian meal, love this place and would recommend we’ll visit again, Barlstone you have treasure of a restaurant.

Good food , friendly service with good parking outside the premises. The BYO is a big plus for me as it significantly reduces the overall cost of the meal. I can't really think of any negative points from my visit.

Visit on a regular basis, food is always amazing and the team are great too. Can nip next door for wine /beers from co-op..ask for recommendations I've tried some really tasty alternatives to my usual jalfrezi and they never disappoint

We love this place and have ordered numerous times for delivery takeaway. Quality food is always prepared, good portion size and wonderful tasting dishes. Highly recommended to all! I haven’t heard anybody say a bad word for this hidden gem of an Indian.

I had eaten at this restaurant before and had enjoyed my meal so decided to recommend the restaurant for a family meal out. We were a party of 4 adults. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was very busy. The waiter took our order quite quickly but then we waited nearly an hour for our main courses to come out. Twice we had to ask how much longer our meals would be. I ordered the buttered chicken and my meal was good. But 2 of our party ordered the byriani which was huge and came in the shape of a Xmas pudding piled up on the plate much to much very off putting and not enough vegetable curry to go with it making it very dry . Because we had waited so long for our food we had almost lost our appetite.

I went to Daawat recently with three friends. It was lucky we had booked as it was a busy Saturday night! They don’t have an alcohol license, so you can take your own. We ordered popadoms and pickles, followed by a starter platter for two. All was delicious, and the platter was enough for four! We followed this up with two pilau rice, two naan and four main dishes - again there was plenty (if not slightly too much!) food. Two of the dishes were served in silver dishes, but the other two were served on large plates - this was a little over facing (we felt full before we started!). We couldn’t fault the quality of the food though - the menu promises to take your tastebuds to a spiritual place, and it certainly delivers - and they let us take our leftovers home! I can personally recommend the chicken tikka nutty special, and I hope to be back in Barlestone again soon (and I’ll make sure I work up an appetite in advance!).

We have now visited Daawat a number of times and each time the food is simply excellent. There is no shortage of Indian restaurants in Leicester and, without doubt, there are others that offer a great dining experience but, in my humble opinion, none is better than Daawat. In addition to food that actually tastes like it's been made 'from scratch' by a chef that cares, the restaurant is spotless, the welcome is wonderful and the fact you can take your own booze is a real bonus. If you love Indian food, you really should give Daawat a try.

First visit to Daawat this evening. Food was exquisitly presented. Taste sensation was just sublime. 5 star all the way. We will be back and next time with another bottle of wine 😀. Wonderful evening all round.

We returned to Daawat after having such a lovely experience in December. We were definitely not disappointed.

My husband and myself have just been for our date night and we were both stunned with how excellent it was. The staff are friendly and attentive without being intrusive, the food is absolutely amazing with great portion sizes. Nothing was too much trouble. This is definitely going to be our favourite go to restaurant in the future and great value for money. 5 stars are not enough.

Been a few times and always had good food and service. The chef specials are interesting and there is plenty to choose from. Fresh nann bread is excellent. You can take your own drinks so the bill is kept reasonable. Highly recommended. Try mixed kebab for starter and spinach and garlic side!

Such an great selection of Currys and more ...have to say the food is by far the most enjoyable flavoursome food iv ever eaten, and iv eaten food all over the world . It's very much welcomed and we will be regular customers from now on.staff go above and beyond to assist and beautiful surroundings .thankyou for you tasteful selection .

We have been here three times now and found that the quality of the food and the friendliness and helpfulness of the waiters and manager is excellent. But, be warned, the restaurant is NOT LICENSED but you can take your own alcohol and there is not a corkage charge. And if you forget your booze there is a Co-op virtually next door.

The food here is delicious. Certainly not your typical Indian takeaway with similar tasting sauces and reheated food. This is cooked fresh and full of authentic flavour. The portions are big so take this in to account when ordering as we ordered too much. I did finish it all though!

Been visiting here since it opened and never had a bad meal. Staff friendly, food is amazing and so lucky to have such a great restaurant in our village. We’ve previously travelled for Indian food (Especially being so close to the golden mile in Leicester) and it’s credit to them that we haven’t had a single curry from anywhere else since they opened. Thought we'd try this restaurant after a flyer came through our door. What great food and atmosphere, with the friendliest staff you could wish for. The Banqueting Nights are brilliant and great value for money, although we'd happily eat here at any time as it's always really good value for such fantastic, authentic Indian food. We recently took some friends who thoroughly enjoyed their evening and bemoaned the fact that they hadn't got an Indian restaurant of this quality in their area of Derbyshire. Now we can't keep away and will be going with all the family for my birthday meal. Highly recommended for anyone who loves their Indian cuisine. Keep up the good work Dawaat.

Great restaurant serving authentic Indian cuisine in the lovely surroundings of their modern style eating area. If you like your Indian food cooked how it should be this is the place for you.

Just love the food at the Daawat restaurant in Barlstone. We were temporarily staying in the area when we found this place now we travel a few more miles to use it. The food is freshly cooked and very flavoursome. We have eaten Indian food at many of the good Indian restaurants in the area. We think this is up there with the best. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Their buffet nights Sunday & Wednesday are great good value. It’s a bring your own alcohol Indian but bottle openers, cork screws are provided. There is a Co.op next door or pub opposite if you forget.

Eat here regularly and also have takeaway delivered.

Daawat is a great restaurant & my favourite place to eat! Lovely friendly staff who are very attentive to each customer. Very tasty food that can be adapated to your indivdual taste. Fantastic local restaurant, great tasting food & LARGE portions. You won't be disappointed & definitely won't go hungry. We've tried numerous dishes, on various visits & all have been among the best tasting we've had anywhere. A favourite is the Goa Garlic King Prawn, served while still sizzling on a hot skillet. The staff are great & the welcome is friendly, a real gem in the heart of Barlestone.

We have been to many Indian restaurants but Daawat is by far the best that we have found. The food is consistently excellent, the menu choice is extensive and they are constantly introducing new dishes. We also love the fact that it is a ‘bring your own’ alcohol restaurant. The staff are lovely - so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant has been recently redecorated and is very smart and contemporary. I would highly recommend!

Food is excellent and take aways are just as good as being waited on in the restaurant. Ash is a great host and all staff are very friendly professional and curteous. Menu has a varied choice for all including those with special dietary requirements. Disabled access to the restaurant. Friends from afar travel to us to eat in the restaurant as they rate the service as first class.

Really can't fault this place. I live in Hinckley so have numerous very good Indian restaurants on my door step but this place is well worth the 20 minute drive. We went to this place with friends who had been the previous week and couldn't resist going again and I can see why. The staff are extremely friendly and make you feel welcome from the minute you walk and in and the restaurant itself is laid out well so you are not on top of each other. We went on a very warm day but once inside it felt cool and comfortable. The food is outstanding or 'World Class' as my mate put it and he portions are very generous. I guarantee you will not leave this place disappointed or hungry. Thank you Daamat we will be back soon.

Came today and brought our 12 for his first curry in a restaurant - staff fab and friendly as always ( weve been a few times ) food was excellent and enough to bring a doggy bag home !

Have had takeaways from here recently and really enjoyed them so when friends came to visit we chose here to dine out.

Met up with friends here after reading the good reviews, and we wasn't disappointed. The waiters were very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent, and very generous portions. We all enjoyed our dishes, and we'd all chosen something different. My hubby and I had travelled quite a way, but we both said that we'd be happy to go again.

Been for a meal in the restaurant and was very nice and good service...had the same dish as a takeaway....was very disappointed as it was full of grease.

Often get takeaway from here. Good service and good food. Portions are large, we often share a main or have another meal of leftovers. We are lucky to have this place nearby.

Really good curries! If you dont like spicy curries but find that whenever you order something mild/creamy it turns out sweet at other restaurant's, Daawats curries are not sweet! They are just really tasty and thick rather than watery like some other Indian restaurants.

Recently had a lovely meal at the Daawat. Staff really friendly and helpful, only too happy to cook food to individual preference. Food great and generous sized portions. Restaurant tastefully decorated and very clean. Not licensed, however we prefer this as they are happy for you to take you're own alcohol and this definitely keeps the price down. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning soon.

My neighbour and I visited the restaurant in Barlestone upon his recommendation. His choice was justified. Very polite, welcoming staff and most of all the meal was absolutely first rate! The portions are more than generous, andthere were moments where i thought I was defeated, and I consider myself to be a machine when it comes to food!

First visit but won't be the last. The food was excellent, we were a party of 6 and we were all delighted with our choice. The staff were fantastic and helped make it a very enjoyable evening. Look forward to going back soon.

When we arrived it was a very nice clean restaurant decorated in the latest fashion. Staff were very pleasant and the food was delicious very sensibly priced would recommend very nice place
