Looking around Bold Street so many different places but settled on here, it was breakfast time and decided to have breakfast, the waiter didn't really explain what was what so had to ask, totally different expereince to the usual breakfast but wouldn't try again, so good to cross that one off. I'd come again fro something not on breakfast

This is my fourth visit to Bakchich bold Street and definitely not my last. The charcoal grills are cooked to perfection and the shawarma is incredibly tasty. Your staff member antonia is very helpful, the staff can't do enough for you and always service with a smile. Lovely atmosphere with good relaxed music and friendly people. Look forward to my next visit very soon! Thank you

We didn't plan to eat here, it was purely by chance, my wife was peckish, and I was hungry and I suggested we grab something quick, "street food" style. As we were walking past, we saw this restaurant and the sun was shining, and it felt like the Mediterranean.

I love middle eastern food and particularly Lebanese. The food here is quite authentic and well cooked. Really relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Chicken and flatbread were lovely.

Both my girlfriend and I attended this 'restaurant' yesterday and we arrived with great expectations. The staff were extremely welcoming and couldnt be faulted for their hospitality as we were shown to our seat. Once sat down, it gave me an opportunity to obviously look at the menu but also the 'restaurant' decor, and I immediately said to my girlfriend sat opposite me, that the decor look dated and old fashioned but this didnt make me prejudge any food etc. I was also struck by how cold it was in the restaurant, it didnt appear like they had any heating on so that didnt help either. Cold customers are generally disgruntled customers (rule one customer service). After looking at the menu and deciding what to get, we ordered our food and 2 cans of coke. The drinks arrived fairly quickly, but the food not so quickly. My girlfriend ordered the king prawn in spicy tomato sauce, 1/2 rice and 1/2 chips (which you had to pay an extra £1 for), which came to the table with just rice and yet we were charged the extra pound, but couldnt be bothered moaning over a quid, and I got the lamb shawarma platter with chips and salad. The portion of chips that accompanied my shawarma platter was small, the salad wasnt the best neither, and the lamb was thinly cut and it was nothing more in terms of quality youd get out of a kebab shop but less of it and at a slightly inflated cost. The previous comments in this 'restaurants' reviews, stating that its like a 'glorified kebab shop', in my opinion is accurate, but dont take my word for it, judge for yourselves folks. Probably the best thing about our meal was the starter which was sauteed potatoes in this spicy sauce with garlic, chillies etc. The bill came to just under £29 and that was with the surplus charge aforementioned for 1/2 and 1/2 my girlfriend wanted with her king prawns but instead she got just rice. I said before we started ordering our meal, well try it, and if we dont like it, we wont be back again. Unfortunately, we wont be back again....I personally think the portions are small for the over inflated prices and the quality of food is very average indeed. Sorry folks, and sorry to have to post this negative comment, but you have to buck your ideas up if you want to attract more, and regular custom. Couldnt fault the staff they were nice and attentive except for the meal order blunder but the food and whoever they employ as the afternoon chef is simply not upto the required standard. We've eaten at Elif over the road from here (Bold Street), and also the Mexican a bit further down on the same side, where they do an amazing burrito, and they are both head and shoulders above this place. Ok the Elif is slightly more expensive but not by much, but well worth it, and Id say the Mexican burrito place was worth it even more. Sorry Bakchich but we wont be back.

Tasty Flavoursome food! Great to sit in or take out. Highly recommend ! Reasonably priced and delicious vegetarian food :)

Number of 5 star reviews are impressive but sadly for me it was substandard. My food was greasy and bland. I don't want to write too much because maybe on this occasion only my food was below their high standard.

Called in for lunch about 12:30, busy but no wait.Staff, service, food and prices all superb!The Arabic coffee and baklava to finish were a true delight!!!Will definitely be returning sometime soon.

Somewhere to spend between 30mins and an hour to get some good Lebanese street style food. It's lively and the staff attentive, friendly and provide service with efficiency and a smile.The decor is very colourful but quite harsh (flat walls and metal tables) so the acoustics make it noisy but that appears to be the style these days.The food is good but to my mind not fabulous - I had a halloumi and tomato wrap with humous and it was a bit bland tasting. My wife had the falafal wrap and the same thing. Maybe a meat dish would be better. It's somewhere to grab a cheap, quick and potentially tasty meal and it's very good value.Note no alcohol.

Absolutely amazing! Never tasted anything like the chicken skewers and rice that I had here Huge portions for the price of the meal. The restaurant even offers microwaveable boxes to take your leftovers home!Nothing special on the outside and it's not the biggest restaurant I have ever been to however it definitely makes up for this with the sheer quality of the food. Would have waited half an hour to be seated if I had to!Will definitely be returning

I ordered a grilled half chicken with rice, the half chicken was dry. Considering the price I didn't expect this quality of food. I went at lunch time maybe this made a difference.The decor is nice, and the service is good as well.

We know that this place is owned by awonderful Morrocan restaurant in Bold Street itself so we believed we would get the same rate of service and quality of food. Sadly, this was not so. The food was average and the attention was really random... it was like nobody knew who was supposed to be "your" waiter so there was no follow-up in the order

Ate here on Monday...the food is good and plentiful, but such anoisy place that we were shouting to heart eachother...Not licensed either...or BYO.

Very let down with my visit to Bakchich today. I have been before and enjoyed it, however I took family tonight and was not very happy with the service, the food or anything to be honest. Wouldn't let me swap chicken wings off the meze as i dont eat meat on the bone and the whole dish was practically humous.

Tend to go at least once of a weekend for breakfast & once in the week. It is so consistent, super-fresh food served quickly & v reasonably priced

Really tasty sharing plates with a selection of food on. Great food and drink and managed to fit the group (7 people) in in about 10/15 minutes on a weekday evening.

I popped in for lunch Saturday but i wanted take away. The guy behind the counter was so sweet and welcoming. I had an errand to run nearby so i told them i'll be back in 15 minutes. I was gone for about 20. When i came back, they told me it would be 5 minutes or so. It took longer. But the guy behind the counter (diff to the guy who took my order) handed me a glass of fresh orange juice which was great and refreshing on a warm sunny day. He apologised for the wait. Very very nice touch. Usually i've been kept waiting in other places and i normally get an apology so the fresh juice was a lovely touch and definitely makes bakchich top of my take away list now in the future. I could hear him rushing the guys grilling and telling them i've been waiting etc... I asked them to pack the food well as i had a bit of a drive. They did. The shish taouk was fantastic, the fattat hummus was very different to the one i'm used to in beirut so i probably won't go for that again. The one ive had in Lebanon was a lot more yogurty and lighter. As for lamb shawerma it was good also, a bit dry but good still... i would ask for no lettuce next time...as the wrap is heated the lettuce gets cooked, not good! Considering the price, the good quality and quantity... and the service, great great place! Every table was full lunchtime Saturday so tells you a lot about how popular it is. Will definitely be back :)

Went here on a Sunday night, I had the lag a meshawi which I would highly recommend, the lamb was succulent and cooked just right (a little pink in the middle) and it came with a mountain of rice and salad. My partner had the veggi burger which she enjoyed a lot. We ended up just getting tap water but this restraint does not serve alcohol. Overall we had a really great experience, the staff were friendly and the food was quick and although this restaurant has the options for takeaways we weren't disturbed by anyone coming in while we were eating, Would definitely recommend and will visit again!

The best falafel I've ever tasted and a really tasty selection of meze and lemonade. I had pomegranate lemonade. The flat breads were delicious as was the chicken hummus and aubergine. We will go back again for a full meal instead of a quick lunch

I ate alone and I didn't say anything rude, nor did I do anything unpleasant to staff.That's why I'm totally baffled as to why a few of them kept on staring at me. I felt they were trying to intimidate me.I have Asperger's syndrome, a form of Autism, so I may look a little odd. My body language, facial expressions and eye contact aren't always the same as other people's. I felt vulnerable sat there on my own and the experience eating here wasn't nice.I've ate alone in other places and it's often challenging but this is one of the worst I've been to for eating alone. It looked to me like I was under the spotlight. The food was decent but there I sensed a coldness from everyone there, including the waitress.

Maybe an off day , idk ;first visit ..Welcoming staff , extensive menu ..opting for lamb , bread , rice , pickles on side Rice was better than many places have eaten at, simple ~ lovely , delicately spiced wih cardomon and lemon .. sorry to say pickles pretty much tasted same(vinegar not vegetable) ;though appearance lovely .. lamb meat too gristly for my taste .. ;though(again) appearance deceptive ..Bit pricey for the quality served in my estimation .. maybe an off day?

Enjoyed some very nice authentic Lebanese food here - its not fine dining but the food was delicious and offered good value. Fast service and nice people as well - would definitely return. Although felt some of the nice soft drinks were a little on the expensive side given the overall presentation.

Always a queue out the door to get a table but usually seated quickly. Food delicious. Been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

I'd heard good things about Bakchich before and as a falafel lover I was really looking forward to it. Was seated quickly in the seat in the window, took a while to be served but once we ordered food it was out in a flash. The meals were ok (sweet potato falafel wrap and the veggie burger) but certainly nothing special and the veggie burger had cinnamon in which ruined it for me! Overall, the meal felt rushed but it was a meal for 2 with 2 soft drinks for £21! Would recommend for cost, speed and convenience but not for a chilled quality romantic meal.

In the last month I've been here at least 5 times because the restaurant has great food and service. No matter what you order from the menu, you will not be disappointed. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

Everything about this restaurant is amazing, the staff, the food and even the decor inside. Bold street is one of our places to eat and Bakchich is fabulous. We are constantly commending people to visit as it is simply gorgeous, traditional Arabic food. The portion sizes are incredible and it is just somewhere you've got to try if you're a foodie like we both are!

Needed to find a place for a late lunch, came across Bakchich what a fantastic find. Excellent food well priced a little gem. Highly recommended.

Popped in here today as remembered from a previous visit that it was good. Was not disappointed... still as good as last time. Great selection of food, we had the vegetarian mezze platter for 2, plus the sausage dish too... delicious. Plenty for both of us... the flatbread that comes with it is so good too... completely stuffed. Service good too... prompt & efficient. Happy to highly recommend!

Fantastic food, fantastic staff!My wife and I visited for our wedding anniversary; the atmosphere was friendly and great, it felt like being on holiday.

We went on a Sunday lunchtime and had some amazing food. Great value for money, completely authentic Lebanese food and excellent service. We'll definitely be going back again. Liverpool, especially Bold Street is getting better and better at food generally. This place is REALLY worth a visit.

We visited the cafe as it seems quite popular. Although the food was quite good the cafe was quite cold. We were seated in the centre of the cafe and things might be different if we sat elsewhere but it was quite cold for us.We felt it was more of a cafe than a restaurant but good for what it does.

We were drawn to Bakchich by good TA reviews, word of mouth recommendation from the woman on the front desk of the Nadler Hotel a couple of streets away, and my 40-year quest for good Middle Eastern food which sadly can usually only be found in larger cities in Britain. It's a lively but unpretentious place with a big open kitchen/grill area, bright decor (the tilework feels very authentic), non-stop Lebanese beats and a welcoming, efficient staff. It's also respectful of Muslim dietary requirements - halal and alcohol-free - so don't go if that kind of thing upsets you...Almost the entire menu looks to be authentically Lebanese, although to be honest anyone Syrian, Iraqi or Iranian would be fairly at home here. We had a few mezze starters - falafel, soujouc and excellent hatat hummus - with lovely khobz marquq flatbread. Then for mains kofte meshawi - generous portions, lamb was well spiced but a tiny bit fatty, with very good rice - and chicken shawarma salad - lovely fresh greens, succulent chicken pieces, again carefully spiced. We didn't have room for desserts (which comprised baklava etc), and with a bottle of Barbican apple beer (imported from the UAE, apparently) and two glasses of lip-smacking roomana we paid just £36, which seemed good value.

I've tried their Chicken Wrap before and it was stunning. I like the ambience and friendly staffs. So this time me and my friend had a lamb wrap and a lamb platter. It was just fine, nothing special. The platter was quite expensive I think for what was served.

We here last night - it was packed but we only waited about 10 mins for a table. The food is fantastic - I had the veg mezze as a main it was delicious, my husband gas the meatballs which came with a huge portion of rice, friends had the meat & veg mezze. They don't serve alcohol but that's not a problem we finished the meal off with a portion of baklava and it was gorgeous. They certainly work hard and the turnover of tables is amazing - will certainly go back - very good value for money. We paid £15 a head for a really delicious meal.

Were here with friend first. He found it so nice and well sesones. For me.it was something,feeling ia,missing.So went with family aswell. We ate falafel starter vegetarian then 2shwarma chicken platter. After half portion had a feeling enought of the heavy chiken but with salad and sauce it is going down well.We ate almond and pineapple cake and baklava both was very.nice.Who say 38£ for 3drinks 1starter 3main course and 3 dessert is a overprice.. then maybe cook at homeThe negative side are:Tables are too close to each other. Popped in for a quick lunch a while back, and was a bit disappointed. The food came quickly and was cooked well, but it was all quite bland. There was no seasoning and I found it quite a boring meal, as did my companion. Nothing wrong with the food, but I can't say I'd go back when there are so many other restaurants to eat at

Went here having read all the impressive reviews.Staff admittedly were friendly and attentive.Perhaps food an English version of Lebanese food. Meat grilled to perfection though lacked authentic seasoning. Found it bizarre having grilled meat no onions. Portions, OK but overpriced I think.A case of been there, done that! Would not rush to revisit.

Three of us visited, after being several times before and once again left feeling full and happy.Just a main course each: chicken shish taouk (breast), chicken shawarma platter and mixed grill. Three clean plates. Food is tasty and place is clean with friendly staff. Reasonable prices and good atmosphere. Lovely!

Having grown up in the Middleast, always had a soft corner for Lebanese cuisine. Visted Liverpool Recently on a day out , and had to track this place down. Quiet difficult to find even with a Sat nav, but easier if you are walking. But one I got there , was in food heaven!!!!!!The food is delicious and authentic, good portion sizes. The staff are friendly and very informative. A very quirky setting and Arabic music. Everything is prepared in front of you in the open kitchen. Should definitely try the Shawarma and falafel, if you want to try real falafel - this is the place for it. Will visit again if in Liverpool.

Food was great. I came twice. First time I had the vegetarian mezze platter which had amazing falafel and baba ghanoush. It was a great selection. The second time I had the lamb shawarma platter. Both were delicious. The restaurant was busy both times but the staff coped well and had a very fast turn over with getting people in and seated and then serving food at an impressive pace.Would highly recommend

Went there with some friends, the place was somehow small which felt unmanageable, but the staff were great. The order didn't take long to get prepared, and was fresh and delicious. If I visit the city again, will definitely go back.

Highly recommend this place! Meat was beautiful, we had the mixed plate and lamb chops that were wonderful. Delicious sauce and sallad as well. That alongside friendly and fast service made our night one to remember.

We went without booking, greeted by friendly staff & was given a complimentary glass of fruit juice while we waited for a table. After 10 minutes we were seated & given menus.Lots of choices & we had a vegetarian with us ! The platter of dips are fresh & delish, the chicken was so soft & well flavoured.Lamb burger, melt in the mouth. We alk enjoyed are food. Thank you.

What a little gem of a restaurant- visited on Saturday when it was very busy. The service was slow and the wait for food was a little while but the quality of the food made up 4 it! I had chicken skewers with rice, fries, salad with Arabic bread. My friend had mince lamb skewers with rice and salad and Arabic bread. The food was so succulent and full of flavour. There was also plenty of food which made it very very good value for money! Can't wait to go back and try something else on the menu

I've been here a few times and I keep coming back because the food is amazing, great flavours and plenty options for great value. My main issue is always portion size as they are generous so I usually end up ordering a sharing platter so I can eat a bit of everything!

We had bakchich recommended to us so went for a family lunch at the weekend. The food was nice enough probably a 7/10 but our daughter dropped her dummy on the floor; I picked it up and saw how dirty it was. This was around midday so could've been from the night before but that doesn't excuse it. Probably wouldn't go back but we have been to worse places!

Good quality and value food. I thought the soft drinks were very expensive for what they were, e.g. £2.50 for a glass (small glass) of real lemonade, o.k. they used real lemons but come on. The food was well made and tasty the service was excellent I would recommend but stick to water to drink.

Read some good reviews about this place and sadly after visiting was not at all good. Ordered 2 full breakfasts which came out Luke warm after eating one sausage which had a huge lump of gristle in it I could not stomach the rest brought to attention of staff who seemed somewhat not bothered no apology offered or discount paid my full bill and left. I would not go to this establishment again

We had a lovely dinner here which was marred by 2 things. Firstly it was freezing in the restaurant and every time the door opened it let in a fresh gust of freezing air in (a double door system would help). We did have to ask to be moved away from the door which they accommodated without any problem. The second thing was that the manager insisted on serving us our main course when we were half way through our starters. Our waitress tried to avoid this situation but the manager seemed to want to rush us through our meal. Again though the food was nice and our waitress was very attentive and efficient.

It was empty when we walked in, ordered 2 lebanese breakfasts, which were ok, but nothing to write home about, wasnt sure if really cold tomato went well with hot food.The hot chocolate was very nice.Service was pretty average too.

You have not lived if you haven't been here yet. From the mind-blowing food (I have tried more or less everything on the menu bit highly recommend the falafel wrap platter) which is like you died and went to heaven, to the unique modern decor... incredibly affordable reasonable prices.. but the customer service is what makes this place Hands down my favourite place to eat in Liverpool. Once you go to Bakchich life is never the same.

This was our first visit to Bakchich on our daughters recommendation. On arrival we were welcomed in and shown to a table. The menu gives a wide variety of Lebanese food. The food was well presented and very tasty with good portion sizes and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back next time in town.

Our first visit to Bakchich was a disappointment especially after reading such glowing reviews. Service was good. The mixed schwarma was overpowered by the taste of garlic. Not really a great deal of meat in the wrap but then again the meat was a bit on the fatty side. Nothing like the schwarma I have eaten in the middle east. The food wasn't very warm and being so cold in the place it didn't turn out to be a pleasant dining experience. What is it with so many eating places that they are always so cold? I did take notice of what other diners were ordering and nothing made me wish I had ordered the same. Highly unlikely we will go again.

upon arrive i was sat at a fairly large table which more than enough room for me and my company. For drinks I ordered a tropical fruit juice which was very sweet but tasty. my company orders a sprite which came in a can (a bit unprofessional but we looked past it.) when ordering the food i order a kefte and my company ordered lamb. When the kefte came out it was really under cooked and the sight disgusted me. I asked the waiter whether it was supposed to look like this so he took it back and the chef apologised and made me the most wonderful dip dish! i was very impressed with this, it was so tasty and filling. I have never really tasted anything that nice. The chef was wonderful and asked one of the waitresses to apologise again for him, which was lovely. The new food came out and the kefte was lovely when cooked well done. The table service could be improved but they place as a whole has good intentions.

Been to bakchich twice now! Hasn't disappointed either times, I love the selection of succulent meats they had and the atmosphere is funky and friendly! Would highly recommend for lunch whilst at work or a nice meal with friends.

The service and ambience in the place was really pleasant, my boyfriend and I popped in for food on our way home after shopping. As a pescatarian it can be quite hard for me to find food, however there were a fair few options for me which I was pleased about.I opted for:Batata Harra which was unbelievably good, I'll have this as my main next time it was literally so flavoursome I can't describe how good it is!Falafel Wrap with fries and Baba Ghanoush, I asked for this instead of the Hummus which the chef gladly changed for me.Unfortunately you can't add Halloumi not anything which would have been great for me, but the waitress informed us that they are looking into putting is onto the menu as a lot of people ask for it!Overall, a good experience. Even more so when you have food to take home!

The way they cook Lahamagine is very strange. Clumpy thick unseasoned meat that was barely cooked, still pink on the underside, greasy too. I had some sort of wrap also and it was very small and had too much garlic mayo. Really not impressed and to say it's supposed to be authentic street food is just silly. A shame as I love this cuisine but whoever's in charge really doesn't have a clue what authentic Lebanese cuisine is.

Had tried to get in here once before on a visit to Liverpool but no luck. This time round we managed to get in and glad we did. Interesting choices, especially recommend the prawns and the mixed grill for the bigger appetite. Our only issue was the corners of the copper table tops are very sharp.

Regularly visit here because the food and the staff are excellent. They always look after my son and I, fully engaged and clearly enjoy their job. The restaurant has a buzz about it at all times. Traditional Lebanese food, authentic feel and excellent service makes this high recommended on my list.

Great authentic Lebanese mezzo for lunch. The portion for one is actually big enough to share so don't over order. Enjoy with fresh homemade lemonade. Only 3 mins walk from Central Station.

I have enjoyed brunch, lunch and dinner at Bakchich, I guess you could say its one of my go-tos because its consistent and the food is traditional and authentic. The Mezze platter is a must, as well as the lamb and fries, and the house drinks. Great service always.

O custo benefício é ótimo (refeição principal por cerca de £10).Como o restaurante não trabalha com reserva, e parece ser sempre movimentado, pode ser preciso esperar um pouco para conseguir uma mesa. The starters were quite close, visually and tastewise, to the lovely mezza I frequently ordered in restaurants when I visited lebanon 2 years ago. The waitresses were very friendly and the service was good. However, the only daunting side was the mixed Shawirma plate. The meat cuts and their taste were really different from the delicious Arabian Shawirma. The meat was notably greasy and the spices were used in exaggerated manner. Overall, it is a nice place to wine and dine in weekends. From my experience, I may give a score of 8/10 for the starters and 4/10 for the mixed Shawirma plate.

Had the best waitress experience of my life! The food was nice but the staff made it!! Lots of laughs and a great night had by all. If you go ask for Kate because she really makes the evening but everyone was really friendly!

Returned after several months and found the place bustling as always. A lunch time visit this time - opted for a selection of dips and flatbreads with some kind of lamb pasty (Bakchic Arayes) shared with Mrs P, who had a plateful of tasty lamb shards and french fries. All delicious and different. Around about £20 for the two of us. Not cheap cheap but tasty tasty. Strongly recommend this place.

My last review - Bakchich is one of the most underrated restaurant's I have been to in Liverpool. The food is very nice - large portions and not expensive, great value for money! The staff are friendly, cheerful and polite. Although we were asked 3 times whilst eating if everything was okay, so maybe not for people who don't like to be harassed whilst eating. I personally can't wait to return! All the same applies again, although we weren't asked as many times was everything ok. So even better than my first visit.

Fabulous food and drinks - try the avocado, almond and date milk. Nice relaxed feel, fresh good quality ingredients plus a very reasonable bill at the end. Thanks!

Called in after a trip to the Christmas markets with the kids as we'd heard a lot about the place. I had the Lamb Kofta which was rather good which went well with the salad, especial the pickles! Only slight inconvenience is that it was a tad chilly in there but the food and service more than made up for it.
