Baileys Fish and Chips in Hammersmith and Fulham

The fish and chips is the best. It was delicious. The service was great too. This will be my regular place for fish and chips. I must say the sausages were delicious too Thank you Baileys

I love this place it is off the beaten path in a neighborhood I have been here several times in the past this time i took my Family and they just loved it. the person working by herself did a n amazing job. she was very accommodating. we order 5 fish and chips plates 1 order of the mushrooms and chicken nuggets what can i say he is a kid. come in the off hours less busy. it is a must and it is super easy to get to.

Last time we ate at Bailies we said never again, we should have stuck to that. Still terrible, Fat not changed regular, chips dreadful, batter chewy, sausage old and dry, portions reduced. So sad greed has ruined what was once a great chippy.

Wow what happen to this place over priced and they are so tight now it’s unbelievable can barley cook simple chips ask for large chips and all got was a bowl of chips and 5 extra chips

Since new owners took over service is shockingly poor..Miserable couple full attitude. Don't waste your time eating here. Wouldn't recommend based on it alone. Food just terrible Plenty of other places with better food, service and attitude.Clearly there don't understand what service is let alone spell it . I'll give them 2 years before they go bust.

I had visitors from Denmark and Sweden. The irresistible combination of a hunk of battered cod resting atop a mound of steaming hot chips is the quintessential British comfort food therefore I thought of bringing them to the best traditional fish chips place. The Chips was deluxe and the fish was incredibly amazing. I believe if Winston Churchill was alive this would be his favourite fish and chips place too. I am highlighting the tradition here! 1) The Fish and Chips was amazingly well cooked and greatly presented! The portions were great more than what I have seen in many other places. 2) The Chicken Burger were fantastic. Loved the marination of it. My friends also liked the pies. 3) The authenticity of the chippy place is top class! 4) staff were very friendly and kind as well as very professional. 5) The Juices was tasty. A true classical traditional fish and chip shop I can recommend this to everyone if they want a great experience.

The batter was so thick it’s soft with no crunch (couldn’t eat it) The chips looks like yesterday chips heated up ( I’m sure they are not) but having brought 3 lots of fish and chips it was expensive and absolutely inedible waste of money for below par food

Although Baileys has high reviews for fish and chips, I was there for pies. The beef and kidney pie and the chicken and mushrooms pie were both very good. Of the two, the beef and kidney was the more flavorful choice, but both were very good.

Baileys Fish and Chips is a great spot to try a top notch British staple. Located just a 6-7 minute walk away from the Fulham Broadway Station, The food is delicious and a ration of fish and chips is plentiful. The batter is good quality and makes for a crispy bite while retaining the cod’s inherent juiciness. The plate is accompanied by sauces, including tartare. They were very welcoming and great smiley faces in service!

Visiting London for the first time in quite a while. Came to this chip shop in the past and remember it being pretty good. EVEN better than before. Fresh fish and the best chips in London. Great place to have traditional fish and chips. Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting!

Really big portion of fish, we ordered both Cod and Haddock which was seasoned well, their chips where tasty and crispy. Definitely will be going back. Staff and service was excellent.

Za całkiem niewielką sumę otrzymaliśmy doskonałe, tradycyjne fish and chips w wielkości nie do przejedzenia. Ce petit resto se trouve dans un joli quartier calme de Londres. Nous y avons dégusté un fish and chips traditionnel. Le poisson est très bien cuit. Le patron est adorable, il est venu nous accueillir devant le restaurant quand il a vu que nous étions embêtés avec la poussette de notre bébé. Il a été également très patient pour nous expliquer les spécialités malgré la barrière de la langue.

Veramente molto buono il famosissimo fish and chip del Baileys. Mangiato il classico merluzzo con ottime patatine. Frittura leggera, cottura del merluzzo perfetta. Molto bene. Unico piccolissimo dettaglio non positivo è la piccolezza del locale.

Das Essen an sich war lecker, allerdings nichts besonderes. Was aber durchaus stark war, waren die portionsgrößen. Selbst die Medium Portion war gewaltig! Sehr eng, dafür aber sehr freundlicher Service.

Wir hatten Fish&Chips;, homemade coleslaw und Chicken Nuggets. Das Essen war schnell zubereitet und sehr lecker! Haben vor Ort gegessen und war richtig viel Betrieb (Freitag 5pm).

Since takeover a few years ago. Awful. Just awful. Food is terrible and the service is worse. Avoid at all costs. Embarrassed it’s on my road.

Stopped on way home to grab lunch for me and hubby. Watched the lady put chips in fryer and take out so thought wow they going to be delicious! How wrong was i! We had pie and chips to which the man heated the pie in microwave. The chips were brown and hard to say the least. They tasted like poor quality oven chips. No crispy outside and fluffy inside, just hard and undercooked. Very disappointing!

People go overboard for this place, but I suspect they are southerners who don't know what we Yorkshiremen expect and usually get from fish 'n' chip shops in God's Own County. Admittedly, Bailey's serves good, honest fish, at least as good as Fishers', and better chips, so it deserves a good rating. On our last visit, the haddock was a tad dry but usually we are pleased with it. I can't think of anywhere currently that I'd go instead for fish 'n' chips. If only Faulkners in its heyday 15 years or so ago still existed!

Every January my wife and I visit London and our tradition is that on arrival day we eat at Baileys. As usual, very pleased with the meal and service.

Baileys is fantastic... the best battered cod ever! The portions are enormous.... We wont go anywhere else for the great British classic!!

Bailey's Fish & Chips is an easy 3 block walk east off the main street through the Fulham district of London. Looked them up based on reading a 4 1/2 star reviews on Yelp which we judged to well founded. We wanted to experience real Fish & Chips like everyday Londoners eat which is far beyond the over priced servings of thawed out frozen fish served by the pubs in the Soho theater district. We got what we came for - a huge piece of fresh fish that swam in the North Sea yesterday, delivered whole to the store in the morning and filleted on-site. The batter type breading was great and the cooking oil fresh. The English style chips hand cut fresh (much thicker than McD's fries) were very good. Recommend that you accept their suggestion for a small bowl of what the English call "Mushy Peas" which turned out to be a delicious thick pea soup with additional well cooked peas stirred in. Didn't notice any dessert offerings - we were completely full and would have likely passed on that if offered. Good place. Highly recommended.

Se ti trovi in zona Earl's Court è d'obbligo soffermarsi in questo angolo della frittura. Ottimo pesce, morbido, croccante e abbondante ... Una vera delizia! L'unico neo: ti porti negli indumenti l'odore della frittura sino in Italia!

Nous venions pour manger simple et bon. Nous ne pensions pas tomber sur de pro de la cuisine. Le calamar et poisson sont excellement bien cuit. Les plats sont bien fournis. Le personnels très accueillant et gentil. Ce côté atypiques de londres cest tout ce que je vous souhaites !!!

I came to london knowing I had to taste f&c;, so when I saw that Baileys had a lot of great reviews I was sold. F&c; was really crunchy & the Fish was tender, it was quite delicious, I fell in love with this fish.

Delicious, simple and inexpensive food - ideal for a quick lunch, a trip with friends. Definitely worth a look.

Stopped by before going to a match with a friend. Small place but top notch fish and chips and a friendly welcome. Wouldn’t usually write about fish and chips but the cod was so fresh and chips perfect, felt I wanted to leave a review. Shouldn’t forget the mushy peas which were also great.

From the moment we walked in the service was amazing and so warm. They’re not stingy with their portions or the sauce they give and they make sure you’re comfortable and taken care of. We got the cod and the haddock with chips. The fish was super crispy and delicious and the chips were good but I like mine crispier (I could have specified as they make all the chips to order). The coleslaw was delish but I didn’t care for the mushy peas- my husband really liked them.

This has been my best fish & chip shop in London for some years. You could book seats in advance because this is a very small restaurant. The customer service is friendly, flexible and efficient. I always miss this f& c when I’m away. This is a London’s hidden gem!

If you haven't really had the "distinct pleasure" to have enjoyed London's iconic, delicious "fish 'n chips"... then you really must visit this small "unpretentious restaurant". The dishes are freshly prepared, and are very large... as is the choice of fish and seafood. The quality of service is "surprisingly good". The prices are also very reasonable! If you want something a "bit different" then there are also dishes served with curry sauce! One can also order food to "take out"! TripAdvisor has awarded this restaurant its "Certificate of Excellence". This somewhat "funky" restaurant is definitely worthy of a visit.

We made our way for having some fish and chips. We were welcomed by a very friendly crew, ordered our menu, which was served shortly after. We enjoyed very good fish and chips in a top atmosphere!

We were looking for a place to eat near Fulham Broadway and came all the way here as it gets so well reviewed on TA. To be honest I was wondering if the reviews were genuine but having now eaten here I can confirm that the fish and chips are superb. We had haddock which were big, great quality white fish, skin off with thin crisp batter and beautiful perfectly cooked non greasy chips. The only downside to this delightful place is that there is very limited room to sit inside so mainly for take away.

I came for lunch with a family of 5. First time visit. Service was incredibly friendly, the food was good, and prices were great as well. The restaurant was very clean as well. Would absolutely come back and would recommend to anyone looking for an excellent casual meal.

Dopo un viaggio attraverso la Londra anni 80 di Freddie Mercury, passando per il Tardis ci siam trasportate (non teletrasportate, però, purtroppo) in uno degli angoli più distanti da Londra centro ancora considerabili londinesi. Il locale è lontano e piccolo, eppure le quattro stelle se le merita! I prezzi son modici e le quantità abbondanti, il cibo di vi no. Il pesce è morbido, ma la crosta croccantissima. La frittura di pesce e patatine risulta leggera, poco unta. Buonissimi anche i mushy peas, piselli schiacciati tendenzialmente, saporiti senza essere conditi eccessivamente.

Ero scettico dopo tante esperienze negative su questo tipico cibo londinese ma stasera ho trovato il migliore come qualità quantità e simpatia del personale da ritornarci per dirlo io...insomma buono buono leggero e croccante!!

Non è la prima volta che scelgo questo localetto per gustarmi un buon fish and chips. Si tratta di una sorta di friggitoria, situata a Fulham, uno dei quartieri di Londra che preferisco. Il pesce è Buono, la panatura è croccante e le porzioni sono molto abbondanti. Ottime anche chips.

Staying in Kensington and my daughter found this place. Well worth the journey (actually, only 3 stops on the tube). Looks to be mostly a takeaway shop but we are in. Located in a neighborhood setting, the service was fast (8:30 at night mind you) and very friendly. 3 orders of fish (2 cod, 1 halibut, chips, mushy peas and beans) were out in less than 5 minutes. The eating in is a little warm but worth it. Food was great. All items were cooked perfectly and hot (very hot). Prices a ridiculously low. Again, staff could not have been more warm and inviting. Definitely will be back.

Everyone I knew in London recommended Bailey's so I can't miss it. This is the one in Fulham and there was quiet a crowd at lunchtime of course but service was fast. Who doesn't like anything deep fried right? Of course I devoured the chippies first which was fantastic exactly as I imagined it. Next to that, I also enjoyed the deep-fried sausage in aioli sauce as well as the chicken mushroom pie. It's really worth the hype and I'm glad I tried it.

The food is cooked to order and takes 5 to 7 minutes to prepare. Portions are large and come with delicious fries. Condiments are provided for free - unlike many restaurants in Europe. We also tried some of their meat pies. You can take the food out or eat in. Owners are very nice. We likes this place so much that we came back a second time.

My husband and I are visiting from Australia and ate here 3 years ago and remembered it as being some of the best fish and chips we've eaten. I insisted we come back again this trip and I must say it didn't disappoint! It was as good as we remembered!!
