Place was empty as I was quite early. Friendly welcome and great service. Really tasty Mixed kebab then Chicken Tikka Pathia and rice with a Peshwari naan. Thoroughly recommended

We stayed at the holiday inn across the road and decided to walk out for some dinner, the heavens opened so we saw this one across close by and popped in. How lucky we’re we, Lovely people, great services, very nice food that was well presented and freshly cooked even adapting the menu for to our request… and when the bill came we were pleasantly surprised how well priced it was! great place

The food was very good, tasted fantastic. Potion size excellent.. our only issues were, we weren't asked if we wanted ice in our drinks... I hate ice in drinks so had to ask them to remove it. Then second thing was, the menu gave a lower price for Fanta than we were charged on bill. We didn't complain as my husband doesn't like me complaining... but £7.50 for 2 pints was very expensive!!!

We have dined at Badi Mirchi a few times now. Always friendly staff and great Indian food.

After a long day I ordered a takeaway through Uber eats, a chicken biryani, and a prawn starter neither resembled what it should the biryani was disgusting wet sloppy rice and the vegetable curry was in a weird creamy sauce with green beans only and crispy onions on the top! It turned my stomach I had to throw it away. Incredibly disappointing I will never use Badi Mirchi again

Badi Mirchi hosted my birthday party for 29 people. They gave us the full choice of their varied menu because we ordered in advance. The new menu is excellent and the service was superb. Everyone had hot, delicious food because they were well organised. The sea bass is a favourite of mine as is the salmon tikka. But all the dishes are great and the wine and beer choice is excellent.

Authentic cuisine representing a selection of Indian subcontinent dishes. Service was very friendly and explained dishes well to suit tastes. We'll be coming back again to savour the home style Tadka Dal and Biriyani!

Only delivered half our order, then said the delivery driver had stolen our food and there was nothing they could do about it. The food we did get was awful, no flavour and meat very tough.

Can’t speak highly enough of this restaurant. Amazing selection of food at a great price. Loved the selection of specials, especially the superb chilli sea bass, perfectly presented and cooked. Also recommend the chicken chettinad- a nice heat with coconut taste. Easily the best Indian in Southampton

Have ordered a take away 3 times over last month. My dhansak was delicious not to hot not too sweet perfect Kormas are nice thick. nan Bread are full of fillings Can’t recommend enough for both dining and takeaway

Good service. Nice decor. Food was average, not properly spiced for authentic Indian cuisine. The cauliflower pakoras were tasteless when the batter should have proper spices as cauliflowers are pretty bland. The black dhal was thick in consistency and not enough sauce and again not much flavour. Had better quality food on previous visits. A shame.

Truly the best curry we've had in the Southampton area. Loads of choice. Food was tasty and well presented. Plenty of tables and parking on-site. Cannot fault it - will be going again!

Knowing next to nothing about Indian cuisine, our waiter gave us suggestions, and they were excellent!

This will now be our regular for a curry, eat in or take away. We've had another lovely tasty meal this evening and for the past 4 weeks the standard of the food and service is 1st Class. The best thing is it's literally on our doorstep. Badi Mirchi 10/10

Visited here whilst staying at the Holiday Inn on a work trip, food was good and very quick service. However, when asked for a VAT receipt I was told that they didn't have any.... when questioning further I was then told, as it was a new business they had applied for a VAT number, but still waiting for it... seemed odd

What an amazing place! We stopped there on our way to catch the ferry. It's literally 20mns away from the Brittany ferry dock in Portsmouth. It was the best curry we've had in ages. Staff was super friendly and helpful, and the price was hugely reasonable! We'll definitely use this place again whenever we're travelling from Portsmouth! Thank you so much for being such stars! 🌟

Lovely restaurant, we visited as were staying at the Holiday Inn opposite. The staff were lovely & very accommodating of our 2 year old. They made her a juice with straws as she wanted some of mummy’s cocktail 😂 The food was excellent, really delicious.

As always, the decor was lovely, light and airy. Incredibly polite staff, they are lovely people. The food was top notch - possibly the best lamb madras I've had. The lamb was cooked to absolute perfection, the sauce had a real kick, not like the pale imitations I've had elsewhere in the last few years. Excellent Indian restaurant near Holiday Inn serving all types of curries. I have order " matar paneer masala", "chana masala", "daal tadka", "tandoori roti" and " rice pulao" and liked the taste. Ambience is good and service is quick. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Staying at Holiday Inn so decided to try this restaurant. Very quite when we went on a Sunday but also very nice. Staff were friendly but also discrete. Food was lovely very well cooked and a good price. Definitely recommend if your in the area

Had a lovely quiet meal here tonight (Tues), the waiter was attentive and discreet. The restaurant seemed of a good quality and was nice and clean. We had poppadoms which came with the usual lime pickle, yogurt, mango chutney and diced onions. I had onion bhajis which were very nicely done. The English style but of salad on the side of the plate was a little bit lacking compared to others restaurants I have been to but it was fresh. As a main I had the veg. Madras which was very nice - the heat was slightly more than at other places but very much to my liking. There was a good assortment of veg in the curry as well. I also had a tandoori roti and some pilau rice both of which were really tasty. My friend had a chicken passanda, a keema naan and we shared the rice. He said it was all really good. All washed down with a couple of pints each of cobra beer. On the whole it was a really good place and I would recommend it for either a casual meal or a special occasion.

We’ve been meaning to eat here for years but never got round to it. After rave reviews from a couple we met on holiday, we finally made it tonight. I don’t know why we didn’t go sooner. The interior is light and airy with lovely presentation on the tables. The team working there are very kind and unobtrusive. The food was gorgeous - poppadoms are thin and crispy, the pickle and chutney tray is really tasty. Meat samosas have fabulous flaky pastry and a deeply flavoured chickpea base. For mains we had the lamb chops and two chicken dishes - definitely try a chefs special!!!! What really stood out was the flavoursome, tender meat in all of them. Side dishes of Aloo Gobi, special fried rice and peshwari naan were delicious. All very reasonably priced; we were really impressed. Currently kicking ourselves for not going there sooner and definitely going to return. For the drivers among you, there is a free car park at the side. Highly recommend.

On a weekend visit to Southampton we had dinner here on the Saturday night. Restaurant was busy but well organised. Service was good and food was lovely. We tried some different speciality dishes that were on the menu rather than our regular go to curry dishes and weren't disappointed. Would recommend.

It looked roomy when we arrived just after 6pm, however, unfortunately the tables are under 1m apart, and by the time we left there were 46 customers and 3 waiting staff in the restaurant. We certainly didn't feel safe! The waiting staff were friendly, started off wearing masks, but only an hour after they opened just 1 waiter had kept his mask on, the other two waiting staff mostly weren't wearing them. One lady who was taking orders and pouring drinks keep putting a mask on her chin, pulling it up when she went to a table. I didn't see any staff use the sanitiser they had to hand during our visit, despite touching plates from customers, serving drinks, serving food, taking payments etc. One waiter was even wearing a pair of blue plastic gloves all the time, touching surfaces, touching plates, menu's, drinks etc. There was sanitiser on a table we passed as we walked in, but we weren't asked to use it, not asked for any details for track and trace either. We couldn't wait to get out, I even asked to take the rest of my meal home because I felt so unsafe eating there. There was even a table of 12 (quite clearly from 4 different families) having a party. Government Covid rules mean nothing in this restaurant.The food mostly tasted nice, onion bhajis were overcooked and dry, chicken tikka was dry too. Keema naan was the best part of the meal. Garlic chicken chicken had a nice sweet and sour flavour, shame dry chilli flakes had been sprinkled on top and not cooked with the dish.Once our plates were removed we were ignored, 10 minutes later I had to flag down a passing waiter to ask for the bill. Be warned, it's hot in the restaurant, probably because there's no doors or windows open and so many people packed in! Even the big car park was full when left, and we had seen several families turn up on foot.If you want to stay safe don't eat here!
