Badgers Bar in Derry

Quite a cosy pub located at the Derry Girls mural. Very old style pub furnishings which added to the atmosphere. We had a group of 8 adults and ordered various menu items and it was served up in quick time. Everyone's choices were cooked beautifully and my own choice of seafood chowder with the guiness bread was so tasty and filling.

Food amazing, specifically the beef dinner & the halloumi burger (with a mushroom the size of a tea plate!) Quick service but you may have to wait for 10 mins for a table, it gets quite busy

Walked in to be greeted by a lovely waiter. Service was with a smile and helpful. We all had lovely meals. Definitely go back

Badgers Bar & Restaurant has over 1000 Google Maps reviews and a great star rating, so my son and I decided to head here for lunch during our trip to Derry/Londonderry today. Now, I'll caveat this by saying that it seemed exceptionally busy for a Wednesday lunchtime, and in hindsight, I wish I'd asked what the wait time for food would be. I didn't do this, and we ended up waiting for around 35 minutes after we'd been seated. I ordered the Badgers Beef Burger and my son the buttermilk chicken burger. Both meals come with a side of your choice. I got chunky chips, my son ordered skinny fries and we both ordered a side of pepper sauce. The beef burger was nice, but slightly overcooked for my preference and could have used a relish or sauce on the burger because it was quite dry, though a mayo style dip is provided on the side. No complaints on the chicken burger from my son! The atmosphere in the bar is really nice though and the menu is extensive and well curated with a mix of traditional and contemporary meals and small plates on offer. The music playlist was right up my street, mostly well known and loved 90s and early 00s hits!

It's a very busy place and feels kind of claustrophobic and the food took ages to come and they got most of people orders wrong there including 2 of ours and it was ok but massive portions. In the end it was nice to see the derry girls painting beside it but wouldn't come running back to it

The craic was good listening to the local lady's natter. The food there was definitely something the matter and could be much better. The ipa is called rough as a badgers ... unfortunately i ubstaned from having a glass All joking aside i wish them all good tides . Happy Christmas .

Food was very good and friendly staff

Disappointing experience. Food took ages to arrive and when it did, it was freezing. 3 out-of 4 of our dining party had melted plastic throughout their mashed potato's which made them sick. The meat was dried out and tough. We left after paying for our drinks. Other diners who witnessed our issue ended up cancelling their meals and left behind us. One couple had ordered burgers and the bacon was served raw inside it. The waitresses where amazing and so apologetic. Bless them they were so embarrassed. But we won't be back

Had the roast dinner today and to say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Waited ages for it to arrive and when it did most of it was freezing. Roast beef was dry and tasted horrible. Worst part was the plastic that was through the mashed potato's. Our entire party got up and ended up paying for our drinks and left. Followed closely behind by a few other diners who where disgusted with what they witnessed and the state their own food came out

Great traditional pub food with friendly atmosphere. Friendly staff and first rate food. Loved the steak sandwich and my wife loved the Guinness stew. Stop by for the food and the Derry Girls mural outside. :)

Pub from the 1960s but still traditional in the heart of Derry. Good menu is good hearty food, beer is good. DerryGirls mural on the back! Go up the Derry city walls to see it!

Between the Derry Girls mural and vintage Guinness ads on the walls, there is no question that you are in a classic Irish pub. Tight, warm, and humming. An iconic Derry spot.

Visiting Ireland for the first time, absolutely love this place :).

The air con was blowing on us, cooling our food quickly. Wifi not working. Service just ok.

Lovely wee spot and good was delicious. Very good value. Hubby had Caesar Salad and I had chicken gougons and all were very tasty. Our seating was on 3rd level but as bar was very busy, we preferred it.

Bit quiet on a Tuesday night but the place was beautiful and cosy and certainly peaceful and they have their own beer called Rough as a Badger's which was super nice. Great for a casual one post work. Lots of space for activities. They were showing Scotland losing to England on the telly which was a reasonably bad vibe. Won't hold that against them though.

Lovely staff!! Their pesto pasta is delicious. Highly recommend. They were also able to make a vegetarian version of the chicken pesto pasta. Very pleased with this restaurant.

Hade tänkt oss Libanesisk mat, men hamnade på denna fullsatta gemytliga pub. Det blev "Casserol kokad i Guinness". Smakade utmärkt! Man hade inte behövt något pommes vid sidan om. :-)

Visited on a busy Saturday afternoon. Staff told us there was going to be a wait for a table but we could get a drink and wait in beer garden. Wait was about half the estimated time and the attentive staff came and got us from the beer garden when our table was ready. Food was delicious and very filling. Would definitely go again when visiting Derry!

Great pub great service and atmosphere

Having a day in Derry doing the tourist bit and finished it of with food and drinks in Badgers. As the weather had been surprisingly good for Norn Ireland we had enjoyed walking round the town. We called in had a drink each and nibbled on a selection of their starters and they were delicious. Great wee pub.

We go here near enough every time we are in Maiden City. Good menu and expected selection of drinks. Last time we were in it was stuffed to the gills and appeared you could phone to reserve a table.

Can't say anything about atmosphere as I was there for a birthday party but the food for 10 people that ordered was terrible, will never be back again, and other customers outside also had choice words to say about the food. The amount of food sent back aswel didn't seem to worry the servers even though it looked like it wasn't touched, wound not recomend if I was paid

A nice little pub close to the shopping center and the Derry Girls mural. Drink selection is good and meals are fairly generic. Best thing about it are the very friendly staff members.

Busy bubbly atmosphere, staff friendly and good food

The food was AMAZING!! The atmosphere cordial. Staff was welcoming, professional, on point, and know their menu. When we asked for recommendations, they asked us about food likes before recommending. SO refreshing to visit a pub and see friends, families, and strangers all having a good time and interacting. SO different than the bars in America. 100% recommend!

We popped in while browsing & shopping through the area. Never been there before. Our meals were amazing. Best chicken Caesar salad I’ve had in many years. Everyone else was very impressed with theirs as well. Staff really were very friendly. Atmosphere was really great as well. Looking forward to returning. Highly recommend this place.

Had beef stew and it was very tasty. Kitchen closed at 7pm so it was lucky we ate dinner early that night. If you’re a fan of Derry Girls there’s a mural on side of restaurant.
