Baci in Bolton

We came to Baci last night and we all left very happy. The food, drink and service was excellent. The staff worked incredibly hard during an absolutely packed out evening. We had a large table (party of ten) and every request was quickly addressed, I was very impressed. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you.

After booking a table for Mothers day with 40 minutes drive to get there, We arrived to a queue of disgruntled customers. We were seated a short time later at a table that had not been wiped down, next to the entrance with the front door constantly open, due to the queue of customers waiting on a freezing cold evening. We then waited patiently for a waiter to take our drinks order around 20 mins. Then a further 20 mins later we placed our food order. All the while more and more people were waiting to be seated (with the door open). These had started gathering round our table. At one point I had to ask someone to not lean on my daughters chair. And another person to be careful of knocking our drinks over,a very uncomfortable situation as I didn't feel I was going out to have strangers joining us! At this point there must have been close to 50 people waiting. Many left. By the time our starters arrived we had been seated for an hour easily. The starters were good and we were looking forward to our mains. Fair enough as it was a busy period. The final straw was waiting a further hour and half for our mains and they had still not arrived and having children with us who need to be in bed for school we paid for our drinks and left. Ruined our day and won't be returning.

My friend and I had dinner last night 23/2024 the meal we had was lovely we had salmon and prawns mushroom to start with then we both had steak Diane.but I must say the old waiter was not good we hadn't even sat down and he wanted our drinks order which we gave.then he was shufflering his feet asking us if we was ready to order? Really give us chance. Felt very very rushed by him then he didn't give us chance to say we would like chips instead of potatoes with our steaks🤷‍♀️ had to ask a very nice young girl to ask for chips.within in a hour and a bit we had eaten and felt very rushed it wasn't even busy? Why why? But tell your waiter he will be very welcome where I work and will not be rushed.he needs to chill out and stop suffering his feet🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️?

Dreadful what has happened to this place! Food was pre cooked, vegetables served were frozen veg and overall experience really disappointing. Would not recommend or come back. Sadly I am not the only thinking this.

It has been a good few years since we last dined in at Baci. We have had pizza to take away many times and it’s always been great. Having read the varying recent reviews I wasn’t sure how it was going to be. However, I’m glad we gave it a go, everything was spot on. Service and food were perfect. It was very busy but the staff seemed to cope very well. We didn’t have unreasonable waiting times for food or drink refills. And I’ve got to say, the food was outstanding. Having not been for about 5 years or so, I will definitely be going back soon.

I have not been for a few years so was looking forward to it Seven of us went three order off the specials meat dish they said it was tasteless, left most of it I had seafood pasta off the special menu , it was nice however I have been sick all day I have had food poisoning so I know the symptoms Never again

Really sorry to say this , we were regulars years ago here always had great food and service. Then it started to change we stopped going . Went tonight thought we would try it again , 7 of us , starters nice and 3 mains brought a lot back for my dog ! Sorry Baci

Here for my friends 60 th birthday- chose this venue because of all the wonderful meals we have had here in the last couple of years- no exceptions! Staff busy but still lovely, food quality and quantity excellent, bubbly lively atmosphere and very reasonably priced. Well done- don't change a winning formula!

Went here with my girlfriend for a NYE meal. An utter shambles from start to finish. I had texts and calls off multiple numbers days before the visit to confirm I’d paid the deposit and confirmed the table (one text at 2am!) Had to beckon a waiter over to get us a drink after being seated for 20 mins without being asked. Everyone working there running around like headless chickens. My soup starter and my gfs duck starter was average. Our chicken mains were awful - bland dry overcooked chicken in what tasted like a packet mushroom sauce and veg on the side still sat in a load of water from the pan. Dessert just as bad - sticky toffee pudding covered in cinnamon. We also had waiters/waitresses collect our plates, bring the dessert menu, take our dessert order and bring the desserts over without asking us if we wanted anymore drinks (had empty glasses the whole time). We had originally intended to bring in the new year here as there was supposed to be entertainment on all night (nowhere to be seen) but decided we just wanted to leave. We finished our desserts and went to pay at the bar where they attempted to charge us £40 too much as they didn’t deduct the deposit already paid. In total, £140 for 3 courses each and 1 drink each is absolutely disgraceful and I don’t think we will be back…

Came with family for Christmas Eve, took 15 minutes before we were asked for drinks and a further 20 for them to come. Food was good, large portions but felt as if where we were sat was a forgotten area. Tried several times to get the attention of staff to order more drinks etc and struggled to get anyone’s attention. Mains were cleared and it took another 20 minutes for someone to ask us if we wanted dessert. We hadn’t even been given the menu. Half of the options we wanted were unavailable. It then took us asking 4 times for the bill, in which it came incorrect. Not sure we will be returning

We Visited on a busy Saturday night with the family . The staff were great seated straight away and ordered drinks. Considering the restaurant was very busy the service was quick which was impressive. The food we had was excellent I went for a personal favourite baci prima Vera which was delicious and just how I like it. We then finished off with some coffees which were lovely.

Very attentive whilst we ordered our food and first drinks, they arrived, then unfortunately we were never waited on again! When our plates were removed we asked for more drinks and the dessert menu, they never arrived. So after 20 mins of waiting we had to wave a waitress over from the other side of the room to ask for the bill, this also never arrived! 20 mins after that we went to the bar and paid. Unfortunately the food wasnt all that either, very watery sauces and very bland steak. In all honesty, it felt like a party of two on a Saturday night wasn't worth their time. Been to far better Italian restaurants with a more intimate feel and much better food and service (Leo's and Ciao Naoli) One last thing, they don't serve Italian lager in an Italian restaurant. Strange. First and last visit I'm afraid.

We had a lovely time eating at Baci! The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was really nice. Pizza was perfectly crisp, cocktails were fun and lovely, thank you so much for a fun evening:)

This was a 60th birthday party that was planned 3 months in advance with Baci, there was no one else in the diary at the time. It was for a party of 26. On the night of the 60th, the surprise was ruined by a member of staff ringing me to ask if I’d been up with balloons and to tell me that the manager told staff to move the decorations and table arrangements. When my family arrived they were struggling to sit us, and when they did we were all hemmed in, and couldn’t interact with each other, when we complained they tried to satisfy us by sending out loads of garlic bread, how much garlic bread can you eat?? Even though I had been up the night before with everyone menu choices and put names next to the choices it was a shambles, the staff had ignored this and obviously given another party preferential treatment. Not bothered about my 60th celebrations and all the money they made from my family and friends, steaks were uncooked and not cooked to peoples preferences, one steak was even cold! I will never visit this place again now.

Is a fantastic restaurant we been a fews time with family, it always been good but this time I think the standard have drop.the service is ok but a lots of waiting for the service, we ordered 2 soup and a tomato garlic bread it take a long time to come and the the garlic bread literally it got bubble burn all round the edge ! I mean burn, I am also a chef for over 40s years believe me I won’t serve that to any of my customers Of course I did not complain when staff ask is everything alright they can see is not because I got all the burn bits on the plate and table I work in catering for a long time I never complain I know the feeling when customers complain. My wife had the risotto she said is good every time that why she ordered but this time is not as good, I had the steak is no problem , even after we pay and leave pasting other member of staff , not 1 staff said thank you and good bye

A friend of mine organised a meet up for us at Baci. Although I knew the area, I had never been to this restaurant. It was easy to find and had a good sized car park. I was the first to arrive in our party and I was asked to take a seat at the bar. There was a friendly atmosphere and when my two friends arrived we were shown to our table. The waiter who looked after us was friendly and efficient. The starters were a good size, I had bruschetta and it was delicious and then for a main meal I chose vegetable risotto which was perfect. For dessert I choose tiramisu which I loved. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. In fact we were the last to leave! Highly recommended.

The food is lovely but honestly the head waiter on duty tonight (27.08) is sooooo annoying. The restaurant was not really busy and yet he flies around like he owns the place ( he doesn't). He is constantly wanting to refill your drinks - and yes every 10 minutes is annoying to be asked. Then he ordered a waitress to clear empty plates when one of our party was still eating. That's just rude! I told the waitress to leave as someone still eating but by then they didn't feel they could finish their meal. As a party we couldn't wait to leave. No complaints about the food, arrived warm and in good time. We had a starter and main each but skipped on the dessert. Far too full unfortunately. Can safely say the portion sizes are generous. Our main server was quite friendly however we were probably tended to by at least 3 members of staff so felt the service was a little impersonal. My only qualm would be the overall cleanliness of the restaurant. We were seated on a raised area next to the french doors. Beside our table on the floor was leftover food from previous diners (a considerable amount). Plus the chairs had crumbs we’d had to brush off ourselves. The window area was quite dirty (around the UPVC) and the ladies toilets (can’t comment on the gents unfortunately) had areas of cobwebs and dirt/dust.We left having enjoyed our evening/food but hope that if we do return the cleaning will have improved.

Just came back from Baci and I must say what a fantastic meal it was. Calamari and Mussels cooked to perfection, seasoned well and served beautiful followed by again perfectly cooked veal and Lobster ravioli and spaghetti for my daughter. The portions were big. All of the meal was great, full of flavour and perfectly cooked. As a family we don’t normally go to Italian restaurants, as normally I can cook 3/4 of the menu by myself, on many occasions better than the restaurants, that was not the case in Baci, I couldn’t fault the meal and service if I wanted to. All the staff was very friendly, professional and polite all the Covid 19 requirements were met. We couldn’t ask for more, the staff made us feel welcome, we’ve had some fantastic food, met lovely people and for that I can only say thank you to all the staff both on the restaurant floor and in the kitchen. We will be your regulars now. Thank you again. If I could suggest something to the restaurant GM, then maybe try a different Gavi, as in my opinion the wine could be better. But de gustibus non est disputandum, and it’s probably just my taste. All in all, we will be regulars from now on, and that itself is probably the best recommendation :)

First time at this restaurant,at entering COVID guides adhered too only to fail once inside restaurant. Meal and service good only my dish failed badly beef so tough couldn’t chew ended up leaving mentioned to two members of staff which basically fell on deaf ears so disappointed our table of 6 decided to leave no desert coffee etc,NB this is the first time EVER I have left a meal .will not return.

Not been for a while and after recommending it to friends I booked it. Mine and my partners meal was okay and a good friend who had beef stroganoff was very disappointed and when pointed it out to staff not at all interested. Ah well you live & learn.

We booked a table for 19:30, on arrival we were showed to the table and the waiter promptly asked us for any drinks from the bar which came very swiftly. The food was excellently presented with authentic Italian flavors, we enjoyed the excellent atmosphere and service. We'll be back very soon, thank you Baci.

First time out since lockdown and it was excellent. Hygiene and cleanliness were good and drinks came quickly after being seated around the middle of the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and laid back like it always was before lockdown.We ordered the fried mushroom and bruschetta special starters. Friend mushroom was crisp and moist and the bruschetta lovely and refreshing, both perfect.The lovely waiters cleared our starters very shortly after finishing and swiftly brought out our mains around 5-10 minutes later followed straight offering Parmesan cheese and pepper.Pepper steak was cooked very nicely and the sauce was beautiful with a healthy amount of veg on the side and the penne pollo with chicken and mushrooms was creamy and delicious - 10/10 for both.Overall, great food and friendly staff and we’ll definitely be coming back again soon if not next week!

Excellent hygiene protocol bring adhered, food and service was fantastic, very tentative and courteous looked after the kids well and we was leaving very very happy... thank you baci.

First meal out after lockdown and all I have to say is average. Waited 15 mins to be seated and Temperature was taken as we walked in but had no warning just got a thermometer to my head. As we sat down there were pepper all over the table yet no salt and pepper shakers on the table? Waited 15 minutes to get a drink order yet Prosecco arrived cold and quick. 15 mins after sitting down our food order was placed Starter - chilli and tomato garlic bread - too spicy Bistecca Diavola - sirloin steak in lighted spiced tomato sauce w onions garlic & basil - cooked perfect Cannelloni pasta - really nice, good cannelloniKitchen not wearing masks but Floor staff wearing mask / shield 10 min after starter was finished plate were moved Did find that it was understaffed for a Friday night. Mains arrived within 10 min after starter plates were moved. Plate was cleared within minutes of finishing Didn’t offer pepper or parmesan and didn’t check back to see if food was okay. Cobwebs in ladies toilet but overall clean. £51.90 - not bad price at all

1st visit for months after lockdown and have to say how underwhelming the experience was. The service was slow and long waits for table to be cleared. Starters were ok but the mains were bland and under seasoned . The crab linguine had 2 flakes of crab meat and was utterly tasteless which we sent back to the kitchen. The replacement risotto marinara had lots of seafood but again utterly tasteless.The table was cleared and we waited 15 minutes before being asked if we wanted desserts or coffees. We declined and asked for the bill.I went to reception to pay and stood for 5 mins while staff walked past me and didnt acknowledge my prescence. If I wasn't an honourable person I would have left without paying. Food 2 *Service 1*Overall experience 1*Wont be going again :-(

We ordered a Takeaway yesterday for my husbands birthday . We messaged the restaurant on Thursday on what we wanted to order and on Saturday they rang for payment . The food when collected was delicious full of flavour 4 different dishes cooked to perfection (with 2 fussy lads )Service was fantastic during difficult circumstances.When ordering we gave our vehicle registration and on collection food was placed in the boot of your car Every week during Lockdown we have tried different places and Baci as been one of the best . Thankyou we will definitely be ordering again you are doing a fantastic job xx❤️

Due to the coronavirus, we orderd a takeaway as a treat. We rang the order in, paid over the phone (it was 20% off the normal menu price) and they took our car registration number. When we went to collect our order, we just parked up and they came out and put it in the boot. The food was delicious. We even got little pots of parmesan cheese to sprinkle over our dishes. Will be ordering again soon.

Lovely restaurant, atmospheric, busy, well spaced tables, nice decor. Great staff, professional and friendly. Lovely Italian food, well cooked, a bit different with great flavour. We are really drawn to this restaurant. They always ask if you are celebrating anything and make a fuss , my husband got a substantial bowl of gelato with a candle to blow out, a really nice touch. We love it and it’s 5minutes away, how lucky are we?!

We dined on Friday 06/03/20 - a table of 5. The waiter/waitresses are so friendly and do not leave you waiting around for anything. We ordered 2 garlic bread starters, 1 pate and 1 garlic mushrooms - all beautiful and only empty plates went back to the kitchen. All four adults had steak. I ordered the Steak Rossini and have to say it was one of the biggest and best steaks i have ever eaten. It was cooked perfectly (rare) and melted in the mouth and the sauce was divine. Again only empty plates went back to the kitchen. There was only room for two desserts on the table, both well received. Would definitely recommend and return visit.

Celebrated my 50th Birthday here with the family on Friday evening. All the food everyone chose was correct and was really lovely We did feel rushed when ordering by the older waiter and he didn’t give us time to finish what we wanted without rushing off all the time They brought out the cake with all the fireworks and candles we put in lit for us Very very busy but it always is Nice for a celebration

Food was good , service rubbish , had been the week before when the owner was present and no problems at all. W asked young waiter if we could pay the bill and he replied yes then left to resume serving meals and laughing and joking with the other young waiter on duty, we stood at the bar for over 5 minutes whilst waiting to pay , complained to guy who seemed to be in charge but didn't get much of a reply. Will be going to the Italian in Ainsworth from now on..

Visited for a meal on valentine's night. We both had a starter off the specials menu and steak for main. Food was lovely. Out only issue was ordering more drinks when the starters were cleared and after asking four different members of staff, including the manage they finally arrived after out mains had been cleared. Expected better service than that.

I haven't been to Baci for many years and remember it as being OK but nothing special however after visiting last night for my Neices birthday I have to highly recommend. Booked for 6.15pm seated straight away and drinks ordered and arrived quickly. 4 of us had the scallop and King prawn starter which was beautifully cooked and well presented. I had the zesty lemon chicken risotto. I adore risotto and have to say it was the best I've had in any restaurant as its easy to get it wrong and at 8.95 for a massive dish when compared to similar dish I had at Retreat Bromley Cross for 13.95 it was excellent value. We brought a birthday cake for my nice which they brought to the table with candles and played Happy Birthday on the speakers. We had a fantastic time and with the quality of the food and service I will be back soon!

We booked a table for a birthday celebration and had a really lovely night. The service wasn’t that great last time we went but this time they had more staff and were attentive too. Making sure we all had drinks and food. The food was lovely as always and I would always recommend Bacis!

we found this place when it first opened so at tghe time it was not so busy.That said we still go on a regular visits.Alan & staff know exactly how to make you feel in a packed restraunt that you are the only customer.Well done guys you deserve all the well earned praise

What a find this place was . Lovely place , service exceptional. The gentleman who served us was from Italy he was so friendly and chatty . The food from start to finish was delicious , nothing was too much trouble , we asked for things that weren’t on the menu and they were made no problem . Will certainly be returning.

Another fantastic meal had by all the family, always happy wen we are here food quality is always to a high standard...and service is on point.

A family of six dined at Baci this evening I would recommend for a family gathering. Good service excellent food quality and good value.

we booked a table for a family meal on arriving found the car park was full, when we got into the restaurant we found people 20 deep at the bar waiting to get served we spoke to a member of staff and asked about our table she told us it would be 2 minutes so we ordered a drink and sat down to wait, a member of staff came out and took a group of people to their table they had been waiting for quite a long time and were very unhappy.

Having been here before and enjoyed our meal and service (see my previous review), I have to say Baci won’t be on my visit list again. And never EVER at Christmas.

Had a fantastic night with my wife and as per usual food was at an impeccable standard...these pizzas are fast becoming popular around the village... coming back xmas day with all the family... great times!

Went here on the 19th was quite busy. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good! Only had a Cannelloni with a garlic bread but I was very impressed!

We arrived on a busy tuesday night, was seated immediately and drink order was take efficiently and arrived promptly.

Excellent food & brilliant service, cannot find fault at all! Went with my family and we all enjoyed the experience. Will definitely visit again!

Oh so slow service, and below average food on an early evening booking. Won't be returning any time soon.

We had never been here before and the restaurant was recommend to us. Booked several days ahead. So when we arrived slightly early, we expected that we would have to wait, but we were taken straight to a table. The staff are very helpful and happy to help explain the Food. The food was excellent and overall I would call again.

We have been coming here for many years but haven't been for a while now.We were very disappointed with tonight's visit.1 of our party of 4,got their starters whilst rest of us had to wait for ours.My starter wasn't as hot as it should have been.The main course was okay but 1 of our party was given the wrong meal so had to wait for the correct one.There was hardly an apology.The staff,all being so young,showed no attention to the diners,instead choosing to chat amongst themselves.There is no longer any personal touch from the waiters.They look just like they are doing a job and had no interest in anything else.The most annoying part of the evening was the Happy Birthday music which was played at least 5 times in the few hours we were there.The music was loud and it just went on and on each time a cake with a candle was delivered to the birthday person.It was if someone kept forgetting to turn it off once the cake was served.Having asked for our bill,we were then kept waiting for it.Eventually,it was just plonked on our table by another non caring waitress. It was like we were all invisible. Not one person asked if we enjoyed our meal.No one came to take our payment so we ended up going to the bar to pay. The person that took our payment,showed no warmth or interest in us at all.She didnt even look at us,just gave us a receipt.All without even a smile.

We had a great experience here and the food was lovely. I would definitely visit again and also would recommend to others.

Full Mark's to all again, excellent service and evening had. Food was fantastic as was the pink prosecco...wife thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be back to eat soon.

First time at Baci. We enjoyed ourselves and found the special menu very good value. The kids a three year old and a seven year old were treated well by staff and made to feel welcome. Service was quick and friendly. We had spaghetti Bolognaise, the gratinati and tortellini with crab meat. Plus ice creams, coffees and soft drinks. We also ordered a take out. The whole bill came to £55. Such good value. Food was excellent. Boys thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Restaurant was busy for a Monday night so there was a real buzz about the place. We will be back.

Came here recently , ordered the steak for myself and boyfriend ordered a pizza , which he loved! However , the steak was not what I expected at all , it was very fatty which was a shame. I did not expect it all to be covered in sauce (should be made more clear on the menu) with little veg. Boyfriend did tell me to speak up , however I am not one to complain and therefore didn’t , which I should have.
