Arrived on a Sunday evening to be greeted & taken to our table, good drinks menu & we decided to do the 3 course special. Popodums & sauces came out lovely & fresh followed by our starters all of which were tasty. I couldn’t decide on a main myself & told them what I like & don’t like & a beautiful dish came out slightly hot which was lovely but I highly recommend the chicken rajasthani! Main was accompanied by rice, chips & nann breads all of which were cooked lovely. Lovely meal & such a great price highly recommend & will be back very soon. Thank you Zia🙌

My family got our weekly takeaway treat on Mothering Sunday spent £25 from Babu Indian, my partner placed the food on the plate and the sauce looked like it was jelly on all meals. Rather than thick and runny. However that wasn't enough to put us off as it tasted the same and I should mention that we order the same meals every week. So we continued on but come the early hours of Monday morning myself and my child were violently sick and early afternoon my partner was just as sick. It's day 4 now and even though we are all on the mend we are still not right. The person who wasn't sick in our home was our youngest child as she hadn't eaten any of the food. So please, please, be very careful as my partner and child are only back to work and school now. This has cost us more than the price of the Indian.

The most disappointing Indian I have ever had. Absolutely no taste in the 3 dishes we ordered. No flavour, no spice. Visiting area so had gone on reviews when ordering. Gobsmacked how anyone could give a good review. The prawns were chewy and inedible. Threw most out. Don't waste your time or money.

Beautiful meal with family, service and staff were excellent, very accommodating and very helpful with making choices from the menu. Will definitely be recommending and will certainly be back very soon.

Have been to this restaurant many times and the food is always excellent. As a lover of Indian cuisine I would rate Babus as one of the very best in this country.

My friend and I went to Babu's in Gilford last Thursday and had a lovely, flavour filled meal and it was on a special deal night, which made it even better. Everything is so fresh and presented beautifully. The service is excellent as well. Highly recommended by me, we will be back soon.

I like order from here regularly and the food is always amazing. The quality is consistently exceptional and I would recommend the vegetable balti to anyone! Also the staff are all really professional and polite! 10/10!

This was my first restaurant experience since before Covid so I was very apprehensive but I was impressed by the hygiene measures in place and the fact that the staff are still wearing masks. The food was delicious as always - if anything, even better. Service was impeccable - staff were efficient, polite and respectful, and really made us feel welcome. Bravo Babu.

I love Indian food and the food at Babu’s does not disappoint. I’m happy to drive 30 minutes to get here as other more local establishments do not compare . The ingredients are fresh and authentic. The meat is all very good quality. The menu is varied and extensive but my favourite of all is the Butter chicken( I do not like spice) My hubbys fav ( he does like spice) is now the Chicken Methi Special. He also loves the Garlic chili Chicken. The pilau rice- great flavour and fluffy . The onion Bhaji are delicious. Portions are a great size . One dish between 2 people would probably do but we always get 2 dishes and starters to share. Overall it’s a great take away Indian . The only downside are the chips- basic frozen fries that do go soggy on the journey home - but you don’t come here for the chips !! It’s the authentic Indian dishes . There is the option to sit in but it is up a steep set of stairs so may not be suitable for all. The menu is fully available online and ordering online is quick and straight forward . Staff are friendly and efficient and the place is well organised . Give it a try I don’t think you’ll be disappointed

Not my normal Curry Restaurant. Always go to Archana, Shaftsbury Square, Belfast for a fantastic curry and service but this time being a little pushed for time, and not having the energy to drive to Belfast, I thought, I’d give bubu’s of Gilford, Northern Ireland a try and wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent, well priced and good portion size, so much so, if it wasn’t for the Peshawar naan, I could have happily scoffed the lot but “ try as I might, I just couldn’t eat it all” not that the dogs had a problem with me doing so enjoying the few small morsels of lamb that were left. I would say unless it’s a takeaway! Wheel chair access is non existent “sadly” Will definitely use again. Absolutely delicious and deserves this A✨✨✨rating.

Carry out service from Babus is first class. Easy order system, brilliant communication and for anybody that says we in Northern Ireland don’t do “customer service” well just visit this restaurant. Staff are the friendliest, polite, helpful I have encountered. Food is amazing standard and plenty of it!! Just made a wet miserable Saturday night really enjoyable.

As always the food was amazing. The tastes and flavours are amazing. Service was a pleasure even during these difficult times. Restaurant well spaced out and hand sanitizers available. We certainly enjoyed and as always ordered more than we could eat 😊 thanks again 🙂

First visit to this restaurant Food was very good and served very promptly after ordering. Under present regulations the social distancing was good and staff wore masks. Well priced and good quality, we will be back.

Ordered a takeaway meal this evening from this restaurantBecause of the situation at the moment i gave plenty of notice I ordered at 5 30 for 6 30 collection I was telephoned at 6 40 and told to come up and collect OK short journey home and discovered the food was cold and when microwaved and tucked in the food was tasteless This is the second time I've tried this restaurant and definitely will not be back

Went on Eat Out to Help Out. Corvid 19 precautions excellent - staff wearing masks , tables well separated , disposable menus. We had excellent meal of poppadoms, starters and main courses . Restaurant was quite busy but service was prompt. First time back since coronavirus and food seems even better.

We got a korma, jalfrezi, pathia and tandoori mixed grill and we really enjoyed them all. Poppadoms and dips were tasty, as were the naans. The staff were very friendly and we were served really quickly. Reasonably priced. Credit to the staff, especially during the current climate. Would recommend and look forward to our return.

My wife and I ordered from Babus as we have never been disappointed with a meal here. Last night the 09-05-2020 we ordered 1 Chicken Curry and 1 Chicken Bhuna along with Pilau Rice and Peshwari Naan. Needless to say the Pilau Rice was the most flavorful thing on the plate. Both dishes were the most bland tasting indian dishes I have ever tasted. Never before have I had a bad tasting dinner from Babus, but to order something and for it to have no taste or spice is just completely unacceptable. Extremely bland and disappointing.

Being a family favourite we visited Babu’s for a family birthday. As usual, the food and service was excellent. My niece wanted and ice lolly, but unfortunately there was none left. The waitress was that lovely that she visited the shop herself to buy ice cream for my niece to have. Such a welcoming and lovely environment and the waitress was amazing with my niece. Would always recommend

As an infrequent customer I feel compelled to write this review following my meal last night. I ordered using the app and accidentally selected to collect instead of the deliver option. Upon contacting Babu's when my meal didn't arrive I was told it was waiting for collection. They recooked my order and delivered at no extra charge despite it being my fault. The meal was certainly worth the wait - delicious.

Ordered meals by telephone and was given time to collect.Arrived in good time but meals were not ready. After 20 minutes I asked if meals would be long, was told 5 minutes but still no show. Nearly 40 minutes later food arrived but had to be unwrapped by staff to make sure it was correct. Not impressed and I told them so. Offered a soft drink. I was convinced meals were not prepared until I arrived and paid in full. Maybe they have been caught before preparing meals and noone arrives! Ironic thing the food was good but service poor

Got the takeaway meal for 2 and it was delicious. We got suggestions from the staff as we are relatively new to indian food and he helped to cater to our tastes. He also seemed super passionate about his food and the service was 2nd to none. Will happily return again and try more items off the menu.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant, never have I had a bad meal or experience in it. The staff are always very pleasant and friendly, the food is top class, all the flavours are amazing. The dips provided with poppadoms are out of this world. I cannot fault this place. Generous portions for a very reasonable price. This is hands down the best Indian restaurant I have ever been too. Definitely #1 in Northern Ireland!

Just keeps getting better!Midweek specials on Tuesday and Thursday are great value and can choose from the entire menu. The midweek offer isn't restricted to certain dishes.Will be back again. Ordered a takeaway from here for the first time & suitably impressed. Used the app to order and my food was ready on time with no waiting whatsoever. Food was still hot when I got home & even more importantly scrumptious with a good sized portion. I will defo be returning again & will also be returning to try the sit-in restaurant experience. Tasty food well priced keep up the good work.

Brought my husband here for a birthday dinner. Was dubious about the entrance but saw all the reviews so gave it a chance. Could do with a bit of refurbishment to bring it more up to date but the food did not disappoint ! Sunday meal deal and what a deal! Menu could have been a bit more informative but waiter told us exactly what everything was. Food was totally amazing! Best I’ve had in ages. Indian restaurant on our door step but would gladly drive to experience this again. We will be back!

I have been coming here for a few years and the food is always lovely - I have never been disappointed. The ingredients are always fresh and the flavours are refined. The meal deal offered on certain days of the week is excellent value. As for the staff, the manager is a real gentleman and a pleasure to see every time. He is always friendly and attentive, and very professional. However I find the standard of service from waiting staff to be quite inconsistent. It depends very much on the waiter. On our last visit, for example, we were not welcomed very politely and made to feel rushed. So, inconsistent service but consistently good food.

We visit at least once if not twice a month & we are never disappointed & tonight was absolutely gorgeous! We also heard while we where there that they won an award for the best Indian restaurant! Brilliant & well deserved! Well done Zia & staff

This was our first visit here and really enjoyed the food. Amazing flavours and taste and presented very well. Great service from all members of staff and very relaxing and comfortable surroundings. Dining here on and off for a couple of years - never disappointed! Here a few Tuesday's ago and place was packed. Lots of flavour and good heat without comprimising the flavour. Recommend their Tues and Thursday multi course offer. Young manager Zia, is excellent with service to match. I wish they could fix their Portadown branch, as it is truly awful in flavour, content and service, but is slightly closer to Dungannon. No problem recommending the Gilford branch to lovers of spicey Indian food.

Absoulety love this Indian! They are super fast, polite, always get the order 100% correct and the flavour is very good. Very well priced and they do offers for days of the week. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Understated and un-intrusive decor was a very welcome first impression. The background Indian music was pitched at just the right volume to allow comfortable conversation. We were made very welcome by the proprietor Zia. The food was SUPERB. From starters to main courses and accompanying condiments, Nan bread and chapaties, the quality was top class. Having enjoyed eating in many top Indian restaurants in London and the Far East we can recommend Babu's Indian Spice in Gilford County Down without hesitation.

Went to this Indian restaurant tonight with my family, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal! The Balti dishes are extremely tasty from here.

We just love this place it never fails to give us a great quality, tasty meal & the owner goes out of his way to make this happen. If ur not sure on Indian don’t be afraid to say what u like & dont like & he will very happily advise you. This was our 10/11th visit & always a very high standard & few regular faces which is always a good sign! Definitely a big favourite of ours.

Had a great meal here, despite one guest not being a fan of Indian meals! Excellent food which was clearly prepared to order. Onion bhaji’s for starters were excellent. Main courses catered for both mild and hot palates! We will definitely return

My wife and i love coming here. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and willing to tailor things to your needs. The portions sizes are excellent and the food is sublime. If we ever want an indian its always Babu's. Others locally just dont compare.

Was amazed tonite when i arrived home to find my starter "Mushroom Delight" was in fact 4 Frozen mushrooms in the bottom of a take away tin no salad no sauce Just the pathetic mushrooms.

We have always had a wonderful meal, great service and lots of good guidance about meals, favours and spices when we come here. So when we brought friends from England who enjoy Indian food we weren't disappointed. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed their meal and I think Babu have surpassed their local Indian Restaurant at home! I have ate in the restaurant and had take-away on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed by the quality of the food or the friendly, efficient and helpful service. There is a wonderful charm to the place. The waiting staff are only too happy to advise you on menu choices and what is in each dish, giving you fair warning if you are straying towards the spicey (sweat inducing) side of the menu. Would highly recommend.

This is my favourite Indian. Their chicken is always divine! I have had take ways from here and also sat in. The service is brilliant and everyone seems lovely. I always get the chicken pathia which is the nicest pathia I've had, spicy with slight sweetmes, though never too sweet. Flavours are delicious! Everyone should go here. x

Top quality food, had to wait an extra 20 mins as they were very busy so not sure how just eat work out the pick up time. Would order again but perhaps ring directly so i can get a proper pick up time

Four of us went for evening meal to Babus....totally amazing from start to finish. Elaine looked after us from when we arrived until we left. Have never had Indian before so she explained all the different dishes....we all had something different and everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant is cosy and spotless and well worth another visit.

1st time using here got food over an hour late arrived missing food and was lukewarm not be be back.

Lovely staff, the owner suggested excellent dishes to try with the reassurance if I didn't like it I could have something else. It was of course delicious as were our mains and naan bread.

excellent food but unfortunately delivery time wasn’t waited an extra 45/50 minutes. Driver was very apologetic said the place was just crazy busy but that meant from ordering we waited 2 hours! To make matters worse when food did arrive a rice was missing from one of the dishes I had also prepaid next time I’ll pay by cash and check everything before payment and driver leaves!

This is a great restaurant for Indian food and is by far the best locally. Zia the boss will advise and accommodate most tastes and all the staff are so attentive. We are regular customers and are never disappointed by the range of food available. The menu is updated regularly but the chef will make almost anything to suit you, especially if you prefer spice to heat.

The food was great; although it was a bit on the cold side. Would not recommend their delivery service. We just had to wait for almost 3hrs for our order to arrive. We have received a call after a bit over an hour had past to inform us that due to the current weather the delivery might take a little longer. But even in these conditions it doesn't take 1.5 h from Gilford to Portadown. Next time we will save the money for the delivery and pick it up ourselves.

Food was delivered early and cold and the vegetable curry from the biryiani was missing, none of the curries we ordered were spicy and when the veg curry arrived it was nothing but cabbage which made everything taste of cold cabbage 🙈🙈

We have eaten in hundreds of Indian restaurants, this is the best Zia cares, and that counts! If you don’t like a dish he will replace it at his exspense. If you want something special he will cook it. What more can you ask for. Have a little patience guys, you will be rewarded.
