This is one of my favourites. The food is always excellent with great service. Brilliant wine selection

Food was lovely, top draw curry, rich flavours. Staff were friendly and attentive. Nice wine, good atmosphere. Recommend a visit. Was able to park right outside on the street. Chair was not very comfortable though, but they did offer cushions that helped

Failed to ask the elementary question do I have allergens and I ordered the monkfish which had nuts but at no point was it communicated I should not order it despite having mentioned I have a tree nut allergy.

My second time at Babur and I'm sad it took me so long to come back.

We had an amazing meal here. One of the best restaurants we've eaten in.There were 5 of us and everyone absolutely loved the food! Two of our party had dietary requirements, which are very well catered for with different menus.. In addition one of them had also been unwell so had to be extra cautious with their meal. We called to ask the restaurant if they could assist with this and the chef spoke to her to discuss options. On arrival at the restaurant the chef came over to have further discussion with her. The meal he provided was exceptional and he came back to our table again later to check everything was okay. Not only was the chef exceptional and kind, the rest of the staff were great too. We will definitely be back here!

We booked for 2 people 6:45pm on Thursday and were politely welcomed, and seated. The service is lovely and attentive. The food was delicious with big portions. We ordered the lamb and the baby aubergines and 2 sides. Lamb was so flavorful and fell off the bone. We’ll be back!

Great community restaurant for the well heeled. Concise but varied selection of mains that will satisfy all carnivores and fish lovers. For value, skip the Chicken Biryani and the miniature breads for more substantial dishes and sides; or go on a Sunday for the buffet. The restaurant is not presumptuous enough to add a default service charge but I always gladly pay one because of the care each customer is shown.

First time in The Babur for many years, and it did not disappoint. The star of the show for us was the Swordfish starter, although everything else was pretty perfect too. Very attentive and friendly staff and a great drinks menu. Highly recommended.

I’ve been coming to Babur for years. The service and the atmosphere in the restaurant has gone from strength to strength. Easily the most stylish Indian restaurant I’ve been in (and I’ve tried hundred in many continents) I’d say tonight the drinks were better than ever (pineapple Hookah a cardoman-y Smokey delight, steering well clear of the traditional sweetness of Indian cocktails) Food a little off its best I felt. Scallops a bit tough and monkfish a bit bland. I’ll still be back though. I like their style and they’ve definitely improved the way they treat female customers - even those who are dining alone (last minute cancellation by my friend but I decided to enjoy the treat anyway)

Really disappointed - ordered for 8.15pm, came at 7.45pm before guest arrived at 8pm so we all had cold food. What's the point of being able to choose a time when it is not adhered to? And the time before we were sent the wrong dish. the food is good but these experiences are very frustrating.

Hands down one of the best Indian food I have had in London! Drinks, food, ambience- everything was TOP notch. Lots of variety of food and drinks, their paneer tikka, dal makhani and the currytini drink are a must try! 5/5

Babur is the most amazing restaurant, the food is absolutely superb, the service is attentive and really expertly done and the cocktails are absolutely blinding. I first went to this restaurant in the late 1980s, it was brilliant then and it's brilliant now. If I could give it six stars, I would.

Our very own Gymkhana located in the heart of South East ! I went here for my birthday with five friends and had a fantastic time. Very good service, creative takes on classic dishes and great wines. Offered wine pairings with each dish, too, but we didn't take this up as it was a Tuesday night. Next time!

The team here is excellent. The taster menu really shows off the chef’s talent. The cocktails are brilliant. And the service is first class.

We had a lovely evening and enjoyed much of the experience, but a few aspects left us feeling slightly disappointed. The poppadoms were offered to us without any mention of an additional charge, so we assumed they were part of the set meal. Since we were already paying a premium and missed some of the performances, this unexpected surcharge made the night feel a bit overpriced. Clearer communication about what’s included would greatly enhance the experience and ensure guests can fully relax and enjoy. Thank you for an otherwise enjoyable evening.

Came here for my sons birthday. It's the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten in and I've eaten in a lot over my lifetime. Even one in Mayfair. I had the tasting menu which was delicious. The portions may seem small at first but by the time the fifth course came, I was full up. Every single dish was lovely. Nice decor, lovely toilets with soap and hand lotion. Ooh and individually wrapped towels per customer. My sons ate a la carte. Mutton. I think it's mentioned in the Michelin guide too. 🤔 Good service and a special birthday surprise at the end. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended.

This is no ordinary curry house, this place is exceptional. From the very friendly waiter showing us to our table, to the food menu, to the atmosphere, way beyond what you would normally expect. The waiter walked us through the menu with ease, suggesting side dishes if he thought we needed it. The poppadom starter was different to what I was used to . The menu and food is just out of this world. We will be back. Update. This place is so special the locals don't want you to know about it. The flavours are so elevated it makes a great night out.

A really different experience. The food beautifully presented and tastes so very different from your average Curry. Very attentive and friendly staff.

High end 'indian' cuisine, excellent range of game and fish dishes, sensitive and well chosen wine list and some stonking cocktails. Try the currytini. Their special menus for events and seasons are always worth a try.

Came in for lunch and had the set lunch, dessert and a couple of cocktails. The food was fantastic- particularly the chocolate fondant. The real standout was the cocktails- beautiful balanced and really unusual options. Service was quick and helpful. We'll definitely come back and would really recommend.

Babur catered for our wedding (just over 100 guests) and we were absolutely delighted with the food, the service and the price! So many people keep mentioning to us how delicious it was and how it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The price was much better than catering companies were quoting us for less food at lower quality. Babur we’re incredibly accommodating to all of our requests. We opted for a vegetarian menu to reduce our carbon footprint and it was so delicious—all the meat eaters were very happy. We were so pleased with the entire service they provided beginning to end, including helping to wash up and pack up leftovers. We’ve also eaten in the restaurant a couple of times and will definitely be going back. Better than Dishoom!

Hidden gem in Brockley rise serving exceptional Indian food that not only looks fantastic but also offers exciting and creative flavour combinations. For their 39th birthday they offer a 5-course tasting menu with or without wine pairing. Everything we had was executed to perfection. Just the right amount of food not to leave hungry or overstuffed. We have just been at Bubur in Brockley rise and it was a very disappointing experience. The food was amazing but the service and attitude of the waiter were unacceptable. The waiter didn’t want to serve us unless we bought a main course and drinks, as we only wanted water and small tapas. We ordered just a few starters because we have never been there before, but also people should be allowed to get what they want from restaurants, especially if the staff haven’t mentioned to customers of any rules regarding orders. He then came to apologising saying the restaurant has been open for 39 years as an excuse for entitlement. So be mindful before going.

Babur is one of my favourite restaurants in certainly my favourite in my area. It serves sophisticated south Asian cuisine, as well as excellent cocktails!

Reserved for the Anniversary Tasting Menu, which was even better than expected, utterly delicious. We shouldn’t have been surprised, the food, drinks (amazing cocktails included) and service are always excellent; we having been making special trips across to Babur for 10 years now. The buffet, special events and regular dining are totally worth the trip and the price.

Came here because we had been given a voucher and were really impressed all round. The menu is not a typical Indian takeaway however all the dishes we tried were really tasty. Staff were great and (even without the voucher) the meal would’ve been reasonably priced. Will defo be returning!

We’ve been coming to Babur for 20 years now, and for good reason. The whole package is exceptional; the ambience, the food, the cocktails (I could happily down one Currytini after another!)… And the staff all hit that perfect balance between being attentive and unobtrusive. Babur gets a lot of plaudits and they’re utterly deserved. Thank you, and here’s to another 20 years of wonderful dining.

Avoid at all cost. The food is not even good for a dog. Rice comes in a microwave packet and dosa is soft not crispy & comes with no chutneys or sambar. If you look at all the reviews on Deliveroo, none of them has names.I would say they are fake. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Didn't enjoy the starter and main, BUT loved my dessert! Watch out vegan and nut allergy sufferers, waiter did not remember dietary requirements.
