Babucho in Newcastle upon Tyne

First class dinning experience. The ambience was excellent, staff were friendly helpful and accommodating. The menu catered for every pallet and offered plenty choices for dietary requirements and preferences. All out food was of exceptional standards. The only thing I could say was a little disappointed in was the accessible loo. It was in need of a bit of tlc. But it was ok but didn't meet the high standards of the rest of the restaurant. I would most definitely return and recommend.

We called into this restaurant last night and was shocked how busy it was for a Monday. We sat in the doorway reception area and had a drink until a table was available. The restaurant is nicely decorated, the staff are friendly and attentive. We were quickly served and the food is of excellent quality, plentiful and delicious. I don’t know which restaurant the people have attend that have given this place bad reviews, but it can’t be the restaurant that we visited. We tend to visit Newcastle for a weekend once a year at some point. When we do we always visit the Indian opposite this restaurant, we now have another go to restaurant we will always visit when in toon

Great food and lovely atmosphere! We had potato skins and calamari for starters, calamari was to die for! We then had sea bass and king prawn skewers for mains, both really nice! Would definitely return when in Newcastle.

Came here last minute tonight (Monday 23rd October) and so glad we chose this place The hotel we were staying at recommended this place and boy where they spot on Food - had wings and crustini and was excellent, but main event was by far the best, slow cooked beef was melt in your mouth (thank you sandra for the recommendation), my partner had lasagne and she enjoyed very much Value - great value Service - one of best I’ve had in a while, attentive but not in your face Asked the staff to bring out cake and sing happy birthday to my partner and boy did they deliver (thank you so much) Overall - will def be back next time we are in Newcastle, wish we have this place in glasgow because they would do really well there too

Avoid this place. This restaurant is so over rated and well below average. Some customers must be easily pleased. It's not cheap and the food is poor quality: cheap meat and over microwaved desserts! The waiting staff are rushed off their feet and have no idea what is going on.. they don't care at all for the experience of their guests. Expensive and poor. Uno's is much better!

We had a delicious meal at Babucho. Service was excellent nothing too much trouble we paid the service charge as it was so deserved. Made you feel so welcome. We will be back when next in Newcastle thank you all. Restaurant is so clean and nicely decorated inside.

Decided to give this place another try after hearing good reviews and pleased we did . We visited for my sons birthday as a party of 8. We were seated and given menus. We were left to take our time and decide . There was plenty variety and it all sounded tasty. We ordered 3 courses and it came staggered so we had time to digest. Having had the pleasure of dining at Babucho before, we decided to return in August 2023 for my birthday celebration and I couldn't be happier with the decision. We chose this restaurant to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary, what a mistake! At the point of booking my husband added a special note to advise the restaurant of our celebration and to make it extra special for me, this wasn’t even acknowledged, absolutely no point in adding notes to the booking. Starters were lovely, main course had to be sent back, we asked for rare fillet steaks and mine was well done and my husband’s was medium rare. This totally spoiled our experience even though they replaced the steaks within 10 minutes, The fillet steaks are priced at just under £35 so you would expect the very best, the replacements were just average, a bit chewy. When we first visited this restaurant years ago this was the best steak we’d ever had, unfortunately the last twice has disappointed so we won’t be returning.

Warm welcome and beautiful decor. Food was ok. Chicken liver pate was awful, never tasted pate like it. Table was cleared while others were still eating and my son in law actually had his glass taken out of his hand as he was still finishing his drink.
